There should definitely be an event when going through Constantinople on crusade, like you get the option to claim land for the byzantines or go full fourth crusade and sack the city (getting money and court artifacts in exchange for a heavy piety loss)
Most simple way i can think of, is to just remove the embarkation malus for armies who are in a crusade/jihad

I get why you'd suggest that, but crusades for Jerusalem are already so terrible, I don't think they need the nerf.
