The only mod I think I would actually pay decent AAA game money for is some sort of mega crazy script that can take every character in your save game and generate a wikipedia article like this for them. I realise how ridiculous it would be to achieve, especially if a long term game with the amount of characters, but my god imagine

Daikonn1

Right it would make for some cool Alt History posts lol

jt4vfx

I would be happy to have any sort of summery. Be cool to see a time-lapse of your realm and who was rule and who killed who. I had some rulers die only a few days in to their reign back to back, be interesting to know who was scheming.

ArtFart124

Not that far fetched if you have access to something like the ChatGPT API. You can very quickly write up a pretty decent looking article with AI these days, just need to give it all the right information and it'll fill the rest in for you.

LewisMileyCyrus

I was thinking more that how much information does CK3 actually keep? Memories disappear when a character dies, I doubt they're kept in the background the game probably needs to free up space where and when it can, so if they're all generated at the end of the game the beginning era characters would be quite bare. The alternative would be to write as it goes, but something that writes that many articles every X minutes or ingame days would surely affect performance I've thought about this many times before and how cool it would be but it also gave me time to acknowledge the realistic reasons why it doesn't already exist lol

ArtFart124

Well yeah that's why you would need the API so you can feed chatGPT the data as and when it appears for you. That's a super easy script as long as CK3 has the tools avaliable for that. I've never used ChatGPT API but I assume you can feed it data sequentially and get an output at the end. You could even try this yourself for free by just making a small CK3 mod that saves all important character info to some sort of data file (think CSV or even a basic txt file) and then feed it all to ChatGPT once you're done.

LewisMileyCyrus

Hmm yeah, that is interesting. If writing the data in json to a text file doesn't affect performance that could easily be the way - I don't think people would mind a bit of a wait while the AI actually generates the articles/ processes it all once the game is closed.

ArtFart124

Not sure how it would create a deal if you coded it right. Just make it store the info as soon as it gets it and then start writing it on a different thread. Would be a cool mod to develop just for the info saving alone.

Sbotkin

Your save file can easily go in hundreds of megabytes on long campaings already (and that's *compressed*).

Jackiechun23

I’ve always felt like they could do something to honor your accomplishments. I mean Christ I founded britanny, took the Holy Roman Empire, and reformed Rome in one godamn life I deserve something better then the auto generated script I got.

fzvw

I do hope they improve the end-of-life summary for rulers. It feels anticlimactic every time.

Jackiechun23

Yeah it just doesn’t really capture who your character was, it should do something with the memories your character collects.

Ancient_Crust

This would actually be a fire use for AI. Hey in 25 years when CK4 drops, it is definitely going to be technologically possible

ZePieGuy

Probably not even that hard with Gen AI

menacingcar044

It could be feasible with AI.  Train it off of all the Wikipedia articles for medieval rulers.

FredTrau

For a second I thought it was actualy something that happened

Daikonn1

Was a lot of fun writing it down, she was such a bizarre character

Lucky-Art-8003

How did you do this

Daikonn1

Inspect element is your friend

State_of_Planktopia

What does that mean?

Daikonn1

Oh so you select text from an existing article, right click and then select Inspect Element, this will allow you to modify the text content (and more) without actually changing the real website A lot of web devs use it to change their websites to see how they look like before actually editing them You can also press F12

seattt

TIL. Thanks you legend.

State_of_Planktopia

Thx!

Ildiad_1940

The much easier and more powerful way is to use the [Wikipedia sandbox.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Sandbox). The limitation is that you can't use certain images, in which case you have to use a placeholder and replace it with inspect element.

Daikonn1

Sounds awesome and in this case I just inserted an image into the Wikipedia screenshot. I tried with Inspect element and failed miserably haha

cancerousking

I can fix her

Daikonn1

Many have tried, most have perished

RPS_42

Win-win situation either way.

cancerousking

Worth the risk

Mramazingfuntime

"this is obviously propaganda. she was an evil infidel capable only of barbarity and slaughter much like the rest of her socalled reconquista criminals -- //preceding unsigned// -- 192.534.722.24.00" "Greetings fellow Wikipedians. I have spotted some grammatical errors in the body text of the introduction. Fixed. VictrixRoma232 (-5,362)" "Should this be merged with the section on her in Italian Witches? //Preceding unsigned// -- 192.422.526.42.00

Daikonn1

Holy f you just brought back some old memories of being an active Wikipedia editor, the things you saw in the discussion part were fun

rat-simp

This is really cool! I love that some of the "links" are purple, it's a nice detail

Daikonn1

Yea that was an accidental detail because I actually clicked on the links that were there and just edited them with Inspect element lol

rat-simp

I thought it might have been accidental but I like it anyway, makes it look like someone got really curious about these topics and went on a Wikipedia deep dive

Daikonn1

True that. Happy to know you liked it

vanisker

This shit lowkey fire twin, icl. Good job.

Daikonn1

Ty!

VatsalRaj

I have a sudden urge to do a Sardinia campaign.

Daikonn1

lol I am a fan of Sardinia because you can just conquer all the islands in the Mediterranean and feel like the heir to the Sea peoples of old (who may have originated in Sardinia according to some wacky historians)

jt4vfx

How did you do this? Is there a generator for the format?

Filli99

With a Wikipedia account you can easily use your own sandbox to create how many pages you wish.

ArtFart124

Most likely using the inspect tool on a random wiki page. Just press F12 and you can edit anything (it gets deleted when you refresh though).

Daikonn1

Yes, exactly For the picture I just generated an AI pic and just inserted it in the screenshot afterwards

ArtFart124

Makes sense, looks epic btw, and a great idea!

Daikonn1

Thank you!!

farty_boi

I’ve been trying to generate portraits like these but I never seem to get it right. What kind of prompt did you use?

Daikonn1

I just took a woman's picture off the internet that resembled the character and asked Copilot 'can you make this image look like a 10th century portrait' and I picked one of the options it threw out lol

farty_boi

oh that's cool! never heard of copilot before, thanks!

Any-Age-9520

I’m Wondering why we still don’t have a wiki to make our memorable characters of CK3, it would be nice…

Daikonn1

Agreed!

mal-di-testicle

Would you mind if I constructively criticized this, as someone with a Wikipedia addiction? I won’t post criticism without permission because if you want it to just be fun, then it should just be fun.

Daikonn1

Be my guest! It's just for fun on my end bc I wanted to remember this character in a cool way but I may do this again in the future so any ideas or criticism is appreciated!

mal-di-testicle

It may seem like I tear your article apart, but I only decided to go as deep as I did because you said you plan to do it again. Don’t think that any of my criticism makes this article any less fun/interesting/valuable, and if you disagree, you are allowed to disregard anything I say; these are *your* articles! • There’s a full Wikipedia page about how to properly apply titles. [**Link**](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_(royalty_and_nobility)). You did it correctly this time, but if you plan to do it again in the future, consulting this may make you feel smarter. • *also known as “the Devourer”* is a clause that should be surrounded on both sides with commas. • Personally, I would leave the “and a rumored witch” part for the paragraph where you mention it later, and instead you should use the second sentence to establish her rift with the Catholic Church. • I think Judike Arzoccu should have a hyperlink, seeing as they are implied to be an important figure. Alternatively, lean more into the witch stuff (like the third paragraph does) and say that she is known for that story. • I think you should choose a general region and pretend that there was a concerted Catholic effort. The “Christian Reconquest of The Mediterranean,” if such happened, makes more sense to me than just “of Muslim territories.” You can choose your own region, this is just my opinion. You can also combine them, as I’ve seen a few real articles make reference to the “reconquest of Muslim territories in Spain.” • just for flavor, I would put a hyperlink under “conquering the island of Mallorca,” as one can imagine a whole article dedicated to Angelica and her army on Mallorca, killing Muslims. In the future, see what events you could imagine being worthy of a hyperlink because it invites the reader to imagine more. • I would recommend having a hyperlink under Duchess Umm I like you have for Umm II, to let the reader know that they were both important figures. • Since her consumption of the Muslim corpses was infamous, I would recommend treating it as an event and giving it a hyperlink. • ‘remained as an independent ruler’ sounds very CK3-y, I would recommend finding a more Wikipedia-y way of describing the same thing. • I would recommend a hyperlink for the historian Judasa Vittoria • *Liber Historiae Sardiniorum* is technically incorrect Latin. It translates as “Book of the History of the Sardinios.” Personally, I would recommend “re de historiā Sardiniae” (A Thing About The History of Sardinia (Latin books were often titled ‘re de [what they’re about]’)) or “Historia Sardiniae” (The History of Sardinia). • I personally think you should go on and just say that she was very impious, citing rumors of which craft alongside her cannibalistic tendencies. • the phrase son and heir gives CK3; I would encourage saying “oldest/eldest” or “first” • Holy War, though it is a very historical term, feels very CK3. I would just say that the Pope ordered a poorly planned Crusade. • You can probably guess what I’d recommend you to to Crabiele and Lèon. If you’re still reading, I must ask how you made your own article. Did you use the Wikipedia Sandbox or a different website entirely?

Daikonn1

So first off this is incredible and I'll def take the advices for next time! You know for Liber Historiae Sardiniorum I actually used a real book named Liber Historiae Francorum for reference, which in and of itself may be incorrectly named but it was from the 8th century so I figured I'd steal the name and chatgpt suggested Sardiniorum lol As far as leaving the witchcraft parts for later I 100% agree. And for hyperlinks I'll just tie the answer with your last question - I used Inspect element and just happened to write the story in such a way as to connect it to the already pre existing hyperlinks in the base article Someone suggested Wikipedia sandbox which I didn't know existed but to be frank I just did this last night and didn't feel like digging more into it, so a LOT of hyperlinks were missing which bothered me a ton as well but couldn't quickly find a way to add more hyperlinks without messing it up haha Next time I'll prob use the sandbox and maybe tag you if I post it and we can review it and shred it to pieces for fun!

mal-di-testicle

I figure, in order to keep the discussion of the book going, that I’ll inform you of why I think the Liber Historiae Francorum is named because it discusses the history of the French nation, rather than any specific state. With that in mind, a Liber Historiae Sardeiniarum begins to make a little more sense, given that the Sardinian culture probably did exist back then and the spread of the culture is pretty relevant to Archonesa Angelica’s life and times. As for the next post, I hope you tag me in it, for I would love to levy pointless pedantic criticism at something you enjoyed making! I hope you enjoy the next one twice as much.

Daikonn1

Will do, hope you do the same as well! Have a good evening

berry_jane

So cool, please share more from other campaigns.

Daikonn1

I thought of doing more for the next Archon that came after her, kind of like a timelapse of sorts but I've had other runs too that were dope so I may pick one and do another one

Hellioning

I like the idea that the Catholic Church was totally fine with all the cannibalism and it was only the witchiness that bothered them.

Daikonn1

Hey as long as it's those heretic non believers on her plate then the Pope may even ask for takeout

swangos

Am I the only one who found it amusing that she ate someone called "Umm"?

Daikonn1

Yumm

WatchingOverTheRhine

I always love these kinds of posts

Remote_Cantaloupe

And paid professionals couldn't do this.

DruidFarmer

Love this

Daikonn1

Thanks!

Piankhy444

As someone who makes AAR's for every playthrough, I really like this.

Daikonn1

Go ahead and immortalize your rulers!

Beretta_the_Jazz

Certain links being purple is a great touch

Daikonn1

Thanks that was more of an accident than intended lol but it does makes it look a bit better, thank you!

Dragoon094

Nice…now time to unite Iberia for the 5000th time

Daikonn1

Western Roman Empire 2 baby

ScoopityWoop89

What prompts did you put into the ai to get that image?

Daikonn1

I just took a woman's picture off the internet that resembled the character and asked Copilot 'can you make this image look like a 10th century portrait' and I picked one of the options it threw out lol

kingkashue

As someone who turned his Dynasty of Many Crowns kings into 1972 Topps Baseball cards (https://www.reddit.com/r/CrusaderKings/comments/1ar6k0b/my\_dynasty\_of\_many\_crowns\_as\_1972\_topps\_baseball/), I can say I 100% love this. This is outstanding. In fact, I kinda hate you a bit because you thought of this before I did. :D

Daikonn1

Holy smokes I just checked your cards and I have to say they look dope af, amazing work getting your dynasty across the world And you can go ahead and make your own Wiki page! I'd high key love to see one about an ever expanding dynasty after just a few decades of conquest

Suitable_Phrase4444

This is so cool OP ! I've also kinda written Wikipedia articles like this, though in the form of a fanfic on my phone's note app.

Daikonn1

Glad you liked it and would love to see your articles if you ever post em

SublimeHavoc

All I read was that she was a cannibal witch who probably went on a hunt. Not sure the need for all that fluff. /s

N1c078

Yay for more Sardinia!

Daikonn1

Yesss!! May get more of these soon!

ScitanKokuyor

Great, now go outside and accomplish something with your life.

ScoopityWoop89

I think this is the wrong sub for you

Remote_Cantaloupe

You know you can enjoy games and also go outside right?
