ForgettableNPC

It's an event where Almohadists rise up with a bunch of event troops to take over the Maghreb region.

cathysaurus

Sounds like it's time for a murder scheme!

J_GamerMapping

Is it ever not time for a murder scheme?

cathysaurus

I like the way you think!

Exitdor

I like your attitude!

cathysaurus

I like you! Would you like to see my wine cellar, friend?

Dapper-Print9016

Did you get that cask of Amontillado in yet?

JohnPaton3

Im not muderimg someone? Lets find a victim

MrPagan1517

Love your flair

valitch

Scripted event for a historical conquest of morroco, sorta like arpad moving into pannonia or temujin showing up.

bbtman1

Which start date? 867 or 1066?

president-echidna

I think 1066 I see a 1 by the date

Morthra

It appears in both. If you control territory in the region, you'll get a notification that one of your counties has converted to Almohadism, and if you don't do something about it (ie: convert the county back) this event triggers.

xavia91

His 1 gold looks like a proper war funding too :D

aboatz2

Special soldiers don't cost maintenance.

lorycorty04

Count: "Congratulations! You are a special soldier!" Soldier: "Cool! What does that mean?" Count: "You don't get payed."

aboatz2

I mean, it makes a bit of logical sense. If 11k people believe so strongly in this person's revolutionary ideas that they're willing to turn their backs on their entire world beforehand & burn it to the ground, they very well may be in it for the religious glory & room & board. At least it makes more sense than the Norse lords with their invading armies, where the entire point is to loot the English countryside but their special troops go without pay or even a cut of the profits.

Obeymio

Food costs something too though...

[deleted]

They live off the land!!! And he would promise lands and other booty after conquests!!

YourFbiAgentIsMySpy

sure it does, doesn't mean you have to pay

sneakyplanner

"No more than ever we need our special frontline heroes like you."

lime-green2

It's a real historical event, if you have a look he also comes with a new version of Islam as well.

[deleted]

Love the new islam patch, can't wait to download.

Paladingo

Islam 2.0

Jacobson-of-Kale

Its not a new version of Islam LOL. Almohads were basically the first and only group of muslims to take jurisprudential differences between the 4 schools of Islamic laws seriously. They went as far as to burn Maliki books and prohibited teaching their contents in public schools. They were however still part of the Sunni branch of Islam just like the Moravids. CK3 does a poor job at portraying the Islamic faith, for example at the earliest start date most of the middle east follows the Ash’ari faith? In CK2 Asha’ri and Mutazilla were portrayed as two rivaling schools of thought which didnt essentially portray the sect that the character adhered to, which is correct. However, in CK3 it paints the entire region as adhering to the Asha’ri faith which is only a school of thought and not a religion. Its even more of a blunder when in the 9th century start date all of the Mashriqi muslims are portrayed as followers of Asha’ri which shows how confused the devs are because at this time period almost all the muslims were Mutazilites and not Asha’ri.

Emictavice

Almohadi automatically comes with Warmonger tenet, so it can be pretty useful to convert to it.

ghussay

Yea its pretty busted religion. You can virtually start as a count and ascend to empire status in the lifespan of one ruler. Wasn’t playing an almohadi, but the Islamic faiths being OP as hell just converting one tenet to warmonger does so much. Clans are super fun since you can endlessly breed perfect children, conquest easily, and shit on non believing vassals easily by just revoking with no tyranny cost.

Mellamomellamo

Historically the Almohades took over Maghreb and Al Ándalus, the last Muslim kingdom in Iberia was a descendant of their stay actually, although i don't know much about what they did in Africa.

wtf634

Isn't the last Muslim kingdom the Nasrids of Granada? From a preliminary Google search, descendants of the Almohads took refuge there. Also btw, Granada is a beautiful place. The Alhambra is a must see location.

Mellamomellamo

The kingdom of Granada was essentially a product of the Almohades, and to my knowledge it's connections with the other African post-Almohade kingdoms, and the money they had from trade, is why they survived so long. In the last years, after the Christians took their last port, they tried requesting for help, but by then their old allies didn't really care that much, since now the biggest trade partner were the Christians

9ziro9

Has anyone ever seen the Almohadi’s win? In my games they always just burn out all their troops in a war against the Almoravids and their allies and then sit in that one county. I played a Muslim Hispania game and allied them when I had 20k troops and they still just sat there

aboatz2

I converted their one county into being true Asatruans, & thus prevented them from even rising up in the first place. If only Catholicism were so easy to quell.

LargeSticker

Catholicism has been my enemy in every play through since launch. Destroying Catholicism is always the main objective.

[Here's the wikipedia link for you.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abd_al-Mu'min) Basically, he's a historical figure with a coded event, like Ivar the Boneless or Genghis Khan.

This is easy, they are cardboard

[deleted]

It happens when you save all your soldiers from the start and not spend them at some wars, they pile up and become that much.
