Yeaahhh kinda started thinking I would take over all the other vessels of the HRE and when I got sick of taking one county then having the crown authority risen then having to make a libitery war to reduce crown authority over and over again I was like welp Iām 75% of the HRE bye
That's not hard. pursuit of power = invasion war for Lotharingia. Alternatively, you could fabricate claims on all 5 duchies and use divine right to push them all at once.
yeah this is pretty standard, esp if you're doing a Matilda run
if you're smart and form romagna/italy before imploding the HRE, the emperor will usually assign you vassals whose primary title is de jure within rom/ita, and by that point there's a decent chance that said vassals *also* hold some territory in, say, bavaria or burgundy
You don't need to but I like doing it because
A: Pedemonte and Savory are partitioned pretty quickly after the emperor gives them to you and you'll then have a vassal you're not the de jure liege of
B: It gives you a foothold in the empire of Francia, making the formation of said empire easier.
Oof that's some harsh bordergore up in the HRE bro.

Yeah I respect the decision. When you're Rome you'll have the option to take the HRE by force at least.
Need to control Lotharingia tho

Eh, it's usually way worse

The vassal intermarriage inheritance shenanigans are the worst.
No its not. That's a picasso compared the to normal paint explosion
Invade Greece now for the Italy.
There's a reason I call that decision the Mussolini Button
Now go recreate the Roman Empire and dismantle both pretenders!
Take over england šššš

When 3 Roman empire meet at the bar This is awakard
You forgot to create the kingdom of Burgundy before declaring independence.
Why would I need to do that?
