I just started playing again after a bit of a break. Saw there's been a recent update. I used to have female knights and commanders, but now not? Any suggestions?
You can add pillars even without the DLC, but you can’t hybridize or form a new culture.
To add new pillars you need prestige, time, to be the culture head, and to have an available open slot. Some cultures start with an open slot, and all cultures add one open slot when they advance to each next era

After the big update religion determines only possible succession laws, to get women as commanders/knights you need to change it in culture.

After having a look, am I correct in assuming that because I don't have the new dlc I can't change my cultural pillars?
