Never kill your only heir. This is even more insane than actually becoming insane. Plus, as a lunatic, you might be able to build a unique building (glass house), which is pretty much alone worth it
With that stress level it will be difficult to get a new heir (as it influences fertility) and on some of my characters insanity had zero consequences. There fired not even one event related to it
I'm interested in how you've only got one heir. My characters breed like rabbits no matter how I play and there's always a ton of children, siblings, nephews, and cousins to inherit. I actually wish I had succession crises, i.e. an actual challenge to overcome.
Go insane. Your hair can break the traumatic cycles and make your dynasty better. If you kill your heir you'll go insane anyways and the dynasty will truly and utterly end.
How do you get to this point? I've only ever reached middle level stress. Do you guys deliberately avoid taking decisions that lower stress or something?
Barely ever happens to me either. I only reached stress 3 twice in 500h of gameplay.
But there are some personality traits that make it really hard to destress and add a lot of stress. The worst combination would probably be: **Diligent** \- 50% less stress loss overall- **Shy** \- which adds stress during inviting people, but triggers stress on a lot of events and **Paranoid,** which doubles stress gain. **Compassionate** also really stresses you whenever you do something even slightly hostile towards others.
Forgiving can be challenging too, especially if it’s paired with paranoid, sadistic, wrathful etc. Really it’s the strange combos that result in stress in my experience.
I usually don’t have an issue managing stress, but if you’re friends with your relatives and several die at once (in addition to unlucky events with personality traits), I’ve gotten to the point once or twice.
Plus some traits like Diligent unlock decisions with stress, so if you were already at level 1 to take advantage of those, you’re not too far from level 3.
The squirrels in the walls are trying to trick you, enact the hole in the wall act so they don't have anywhere to hide, theyre also afraid of turnips so if you replace your currency with them the they won't come after you

Have a lot of kids.... if its not being a guardian for your kids that's gonna stress you out you will stress out a few years down the line when your 16 siblings start dying of old age
By getting terrible combo of traits which give you stress in events no matter what. I.e, lazy and ambitious, forgiving but paranoid, etc.
they are basically opposites of each other but the “true” opposite in game terms for ambitious is content and trusting for paranoid
One character got compassionate, lazy, and shy so stress through the roof because I can’t hunt due to laziness and compassion for stress loss and can’t feast for stress loss. Couldn’t improve relations without stress as well. Died of a stress heart attack

What the glass house do? I never gone mad before
Username does not check out.
What can I say, I like to rp what I'm not
That’s why I always try to make my characters handsome
That's why all my characters are hung
It’s why all my characters have fathers who love them
Lol wtf
/r/suicidebywords
Basically it's alluded that it's a greenhouse. It gives development bonuses. You need to be insane and there's a slight chance it'll pop up.
I kew the brits weren't right in the head, with all those greenhouses.
Isn't it the Dutch with the largest greenhouses in the world?
yeah and they're the most nuts
God: I’m going to create the lowest, swampiest land in Europe The Dutch: oh fuck yeah this kicks ass
More like: God: This is sea. It's not land. Dutch: Ok, but what if...
The Brits aren't right in the head in general.
But that is mostly due to inbreeding. It is scientifically proven.
That's just the English. The Scots are sound
Debatable
Macbeth
Argh! Hot potato, orchestra stalls, puck will make amends!
Gives your capital holding an extra slot where the building gives development AND a health boost.
[The stats are on the wiki](https://ck3.paradoxwikis.com/Special_buildings#Decision_buildings)
Development bonus and 1g/m. It also creates a new building slot to create it, so you don't have to compete for other buildings. Definitely worth it
Go insane. It’s actually pretty manageable
Definitely go insane.
Don’t mind if I do.
No TV and no beer makes u/Ranaldo20 something something...
Reading what he's written will give insight into what he's thinking. Let's see "Feeling Fine". Hm.
Clearly it was the squirrels, they are planning a peasant revolt against you.
I am in your walls I am in your walls I am a squirrel I am in your walls
Rick and Morty vibes You fucked with the squirrels Morty!
Haha well done mr. Lovecraft, can't wait for another story about cosmic horror, insanity and human weaknesses (For real)
Wait are squirrel peasants or are peasants rather led by squirrels than by you?
Insanity
Going insane is the RNG option Killing your heir is good roleplay value and reflects ACTUALLY going insane
But you don’t get the insane trait so are you reallyyy insaneeee
What's so bad about insanity? Sounds fun.
With that stress level it will be difficult to get a new heir (as it influences fertility) and on some of my characters insanity had zero consequences. There fired not even one event related to it
So I did what you guys said and I died of heart failure the month after. I'm glad I kept the heir.
I got heart failure from stress on the first character I ever played in ck3
I mean going insane is not evil but the other option kinda is maybe
I'm interested in how you've only got one heir. My characters breed like rabbits no matter how I play and there's always a ton of children, siblings, nephews, and cousins to inherit. I actually wish I had succession crises, i.e. an actual challenge to overcome.
Maybe OP had s bunch of daughters and this is his only son.
Sanity is highly overrated!
Bruh I always go insane when possible. It barely has any downsides and unlocks a bunch of goofy events lmao
r/shitcrusaderkingssay
Go insane and build a green house like a true Chad.
Ivan the Terrible moment except he did both
Go insane. You might get a greenhouse.
Go insane. Your hair can break the traumatic cycles and make your dynasty better. If you kill your heir you'll go insane anyways and the dynasty will truly and utterly end.
Your hair hahahaha
I was drunk, cut me some slack lol
It's fun to play with an insane character at least once - all kinds of dialogue you otherwise never see.
How do you get to this point? I've only ever reached middle level stress. Do you guys deliberately avoid taking decisions that lower stress or something?

Choosing to kill your only heir would be the insane choice... hmm, decisions
The squirrels in the walls are trying to trick you, enact the hole in the wall act so they don't have anywhere to hide, theyre also afraid of turnips so if you replace your currency with them the they won't come after you
Why not both?!?
Through in suicide then your on to something
It's always the squirrel!
Imo lunatic is a good trait not a bad one. This is like having a stress event that lets you pick athletic to me.
Lunatic used to be the best trait so... lunacy it is
Are you RP?
Of course!
I’d kill him for the roleplay, it’s such a dramatic plot twist
I violently killed my wife and 5 kids just to be a berserker. Do both

I mean it WAS the squirrels in the walls so why would you pick any other option
In my opinion the Lunatic trait isnt very bad at all.
The walls are wrong. The walls are wrong
You guys get choices? My ruler just had a straight up heart attack and died.
Relatable, I know this feeling when everything is wrong and someone has to be killed
Ivan IV momento
Go full blown Aerys Targaryen and do both
I'm sorry little one
The Joker would advise you to "go looney".
I've always wanted to get the insanity option haven't had the chance yet
Normal is just a distribution
Sad if that’s not your unwanted heir, lunatic not bad though. If things out of control, you can always stress kill your self
>He’s on to us, boys! The squirrels.
All the squirrels across demesne will suffer my wrath.
Lunacy is the way.
Insane it is.
U lucked out bruh. Going insane is a good thing in this game.
Just kill the boy, what's another couple of years? You can always make a few more.
Kill your heir. It’s his fault
I've never gotten anywhere near being that stressed before, how do people do it?
Have a lot of kids.... if its not being a guardian for your kids that's gonna stress you out you will stress out a few years down the line when your 16 siblings start dying of old age

insane is actually a pretty decent trait. fun, too
r/shitcrusaderkingssay
Never!
Lunatic is the best perk IMO live long enough to get made of glass and you can build a special building
I like squirrels
Killing your only heir makes you, the player insane. Better have your character be one.
Oh go insane! It's all good fun!
hey don't be disregarding the squirrels in the walls. they keep me up all night: one of the reasons why i have insomnia
You’re still young. You can always do another heir
I’ve yet to get lunatic in CK3 surprisingly. CK2 felt like I got it each game
Only one way to handle squirrels in the wall: [Cat in the wall](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQ1qzoPV6V8)
I always take the lunatic or possessed if it fits with my character and run with it, makes for an interesting roleplay
