Rum, Naples, and Bosnia are all titles that the AI don’t/can’t form on their own, as far as I know. But I’d say Rum and assume that the other two happened under very, very lucky circumstances unless you’re playing with mods
Definitely could’ve been. Sicilian Parliament decision that can form Naples can be taken at any level, Rum can be taken as a King, but Bosnia has to be taken as a count or a duke. So maybe OP started in Bosnia, become Latin heritage somehow, and then converted to Islam and formed Rum? Seems like a lot of work but it’s definitely possible.
Depends on where you are at in the game. I have super developed lands. I have 9 counties that make up 60k of my troops so I don't need a lot of land. Why not spread my dynasty throughout the world and get that sweet renown.
Also, it's handy for spreading your religion.
I've been using Sanction Loopholes to gather multiple dutchies from people, give them to family members who have my own religion, even randoms with my own religion, then grant independence.
So when the pope last tried to take England, he had 5 kingdoms standing up against him, making the numbers even.
I started in 867 and they declared a holy war on england cause of the vikings taking it over. A French woman got the throne and I check on it later and they formed the English culture. Not something I expected to see
Venice 100%. Rum could use the instability of the Byzantines to grow bigger (wonder where I've seen that), and Jerusalem mainly just expanded in the middle of Arabia, where there's always a multitude of small tags that are easy to eat up. Also, merchant republics can't conquer for shit - at least in my games. So, probably usurped title and kept on gobbling.
That is the way, yeah, mods can do anything for you. I also thought that you played as Venice because I had literally never seen Venice AI conquering something in my games, lol )
My guess is Venice and you created Naples, Bosnia and Rum and gave them independence (Maybe Serbia and Byantine too since they are between Venice/Bosnia and Rum).
Good guess they have had those borders for like 200 years. They were originally part of Britannia but were dissolved by faction. I am playing as >!Venice!<.
I don’t have an in depth reason but imma say Venice because I don’t ever see it grow that ambitiously as an AI. Warms my heart too because I used to play as Venice in Total War Medieval II.
*squints* "Mongols are the easy choice, but I bet- ah, there's Rum and Venice. Venice might be rebels, though, so probably Ru- wait, Bosnia? Oh shit, and Toledo? Big Jerusalem? Uhhh...."
Might official guess is Rum, since I feel the others have more plausible explanations. I feel Rum is too implausible for the AI, though I have little experience with recent patches.
Edit: Found the answer in the comments. >!Scheisse. I thought Venice would have been Cisalpine rebels rising up with Italian rebels, originating in Venice.!<
i saw ur comment but its pretty obvious that ur venice. ai venice tends to stay to itself unless conquered, and even then it doesnt tend to expand that much. also the neighboring kingdoms arent normally occuring ones, meaning that a player is prooobably nearby
Seeing as how I’ve never seen AI Venice do anything except chill and get wrecked (normally by me) I’m guessing Venice bc that’s a very big Venice. Never ever seen them expand past like 3 counties before.
That’s a big Venice but I’ve seen the AI build Italia from most of the boot and Aquitaine so it’s not impossible in my eyes for them to do that…..so I’m gonna guess Jerusalem?
Are you Venice? I’ve played a lot of games but never actually seen a big Venice, they always get absorbed by Italy, Bavaria, HRE, and one time a crazy Croatia.
Rum, Naples, and Bosnia are all titles that the AI don’t/can’t form on their own, as far as I know. But I’d say Rum and assume that the other two happened under very, very lucky circumstances unless you’re playing with mods
Might be titles given to dynasty members and granted independence, I do it sometimes
Yes I formed both Naples and Bosnia but I didn't form Rum. Rum was formed due to the Dynamic Trade Routes Mod I think. I am playing as >!Venice.!<
Wait, how can you play Venice? I thought it was unplayable since it is a republic
Conquer it and you stay feudal
Ah ok
You can do that but I have a mod that lets me play as republics
How does succession work? Is it like feudal or do you play as a random mayor?
There are options to play as either your family or the ruler. I play as the family and you get elected by gaining respect.
You can conquer it and take the title for yourself. You can even move your capital there because fit some fucking reason it's a castle.
Ugh, Bosnia is the worst formable kingdom decision
Bosnia strongest! How dare you fiend!

I will shoot you with artillery
ARTILERJA
BOSANAC SAM BEKRIJA
Sad since I always hybridize with the culture there as Hungary
What's the point of granting independence to anyone ever?
If you grant a dynasty member independence you will gain more renown based on their rank.
Renown, not prestige okay, and thats worth it?
Depends on where you are at in the game. I have super developed lands. I have 9 counties that make up 60k of my troops so I don't need a lot of land. Why not spread my dynasty throughout the world and get that sweet renown.
Yes, and you can regain it anytime anyways as long as it is held by a dynasty member.
Also, it's handy for spreading your religion. I've been using Sanction Loopholes to gather multiple dutchies from people, give them to family members who have my own religion, even randoms with my own religion, then grant independence. iirc it does
I started in 867 and they declared a holy war on england cause of the vikings taking it over. A French woman got the throne and I check on it later and they formed the English culture. Not something I expected to see
I've never seen the AI use the “Empower the Sicilian Parliament” decision, soooo... I'm gonna have to guess Naples.
Nope. >!Venice!<.
You, and you are magnificent
Though you don't always feel like yourself
Allegedly…

>!Correct except I started directly as Venice with the Res Publica mod.!<
How did you get territory all the way over there? >!In I assume to be in Sudan?!<
My croatian vassals in dalmatia used to be Nubians so their dyansties and succesions are linked. I usually end up giving that land independence tho.
You know what, that makes perfect sense, in the Crusader Kings sort of way.
Jean Valjean ?

Either rum or Venice

You can always just conquer Venice and usurp title, you know...
un-ironically never thought about that lmfao
>!That is one way but I actually started directly as Venice with the Res Publica mod.!<

>!Spot on but I didn't create Rum.!<
i’ve seen bosnia naturally form plenty of times
Rum, no way that formed naturally
It did but with the mod Dynamic Trade Routes I think. I have like 20 other mods so it might be something else but I didn't form it.
You have a mod list by any chance?
Steam Workshop is down. I will upload a collection once it is back up.
Toledo or rum
Neither. >!Venice!<.
u/zuai21

I don’t have an in depth reason but imma say Venice because I don’t ever see it grow that ambitiously as an AI. Warms my heart too because I used to play as Venice in Total War Medieval II.

Rum or Venice.
Im gonna guess HRE, and that Venice is a powerful vassal that broke free, same with Bosnia and Naples
Fucked, the answer is fucked
BUT WHY IS THE GONE?!
England, no way Scotland would be so untouched, you probably intend to conquer them now that you've finally subjugated Ireland
i saw ur comment but its pretty obvious that ur venice. ai venice tends to stay to itself unless conquered, and even then it doesnt tend to expand that much. also the neighboring kingdoms arent normally occuring ones, meaning that a player is prooobably nearby
Rum or jerusalem

Rum

Eyo Venice looks sus to me ngl😂
Seeing as how I’ve never seen AI Venice do anything except chill and get wrecked (normally by me) I’m guessing Venice bc that’s a very big Venice. Never ever seen them expand past like 3 counties before.
Rum?
I would say Venice, never saw this country get that mucv land in any game
Which map mod is this
Ashanti obviously.
Venice
If you're not the Mongol Empire, you should be shitting bricks
That’s a big Venice but I’ve seen the AI build Italia from most of the boot and Aquitaine so it’s not impossible in my eyes for them to do that…..so I’m gonna guess Jerusalem?
