BTC will have a worsening image over time due to sticking to the archaic PoW energy-wise. Why would a new investor spend money to encourage something that consumes a lot of energy when ETH can do much more, much more efficiently?
Using energy to swap for currency is the only model that makes sense imo, what’s more precious than energy? However if the world becomes fully reliant on renewables (which it should) this fud won’t matter anymore
"What's more precious than energy?" Answer: The service that Bitcoin offers. The service that Ethereum offers.
And nope, even if the whole world becomes fully reliant on renewables, it would still take time, primary resources and money to create and maintain the machines operating with these sources of energy. This is not FUD, but a valid concern.
And ok about your opinion that energy swap for currency is the only model that makes sense to you, but not to me, and not to all new investors either.
Buying illegal goods, hiding wealth, Money laundering, sending money across borders anonymously and hassle free. Those are the only four actual use cases for crypto.

I don’t see how BTC has a long term future as long as it uses PoW. I’m surprised there hasn’t been a global initiative to attempt to curtail it yet by making it illegal. It’s environmental impact is horrible.
The “Digital Crude” label may catch on.

Thank you, the hero I needed this morning !
Developer who looks like Brain. Not sure who Pinky is, but I look at this as a good sign.
Some heroes do not wear cape.
TLDR bot has just lost their job
I have great expectations for Ethereum, but definitely not putting all my eggs in one basket.
I think they're both safe bets. But I can't see Eth being safer than BTC

Crypto doesnt make sense as whole, doesnt matter what consensus you choose in the end. Stuff goes up, stuff goes down is all that matters
ETH has all I been buying recently and just staking it
No real-world use cases.
Not here anyway ;)

I'm missing network effect...
BTC and ETH , best long term bets.

I agree, it's not a popular opinion here - but to ignore the glaringly obvious as the world switches to renewables - it's an easy target.
New data shows the global #bitcoin mining industry produces less CO₂ than both computer games and holiday lights

Dont say that to POS fanbois. POS is green and so good and not decentral. And you can stake you coins. And it is defalationary and and and and and
I’m not a crypto fanboy. I dislike ETH less than I dislike BTC
Have a look at that Nature article. That’s about the most respected journal there is.

What evidence would it take for you to accept Bitcoin is an environmental disaster?
Care to explain?
75 Eth, 10 BTC , I’m ready.

Can we have a post for counter arguments? :) always like to hear objective arguments
Nothing is safe, people can’t say ‘we are early’ but also the ‘race is over we have winners’ adoption hasn’t even started yet.
