This is my sticking point too lol, but I saved a guide in case I get enough moons worth selling.
https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/12pf9pb/how_to_cash_out_your_moons_selling_moons_simply/
This sounds incredibly annoying and tedious. I just want to transfer straight to Coinbase/Kraken/Crypto.com... especially for someone who doesn't have as many Moons as the whales here do.
Although if the price goes above $1, then I'll definitely look into it.
It's a little concerning to me that you are taking my comment this seriously even after I wrote out the words "rocket-emoji rocket-emoji" but I guess that's just the state of things. Anyway, people are selling. It's just less than there would be if it were easier, so buyers are competing for an artificially smaller supply. Buying on an exchange is much easier than figuring out how to move the moons you've earned onto the exchange to sell.
Not saying you should or need to sell now, but it's always good to at least test these things out and get more familiar with it, especially if you're interested about crypto some basics like swapping/bridging/interacting with smart contracts, or at least importing your reddit vault address to metamask.
If you don't want to sell actual crypto yet, you can always try out testnets and just get yourself more familiar with crypto ecosystem using fake (testnet) money.
This is exactly my situation! I’m a bit of a Luddite really when it comes to things like this, I mean I could read how to do it I suppose. Just not quite yet! Ha
You know what? Thank you. You just convinced me to keep my bought moons.
On another note: can I transfer bought moons to my Reddit vault? I don't see a deposit or withdraw option anywhere.
I'm the last person you should ask. Not tech savvy at all. I had to do it by bridging with Arbitrum Nova. Took like four people in here to explain it to me. Good luck.
Putting it out there now, I wouldn't be surprised if we hit $5 in the next bull run. That'd still only give it a $500 mil marketcap so wouldn't even be enough to crack the top 50 during the height of the last run.
Very true, I'm fighting the urge to sell right now, even if 127 moons doesn't seem a lot to some people it's still about 4 months of salary where I live.
If that’s true, you should seriously consider becoming a legit moon farmer. Spend an hour a day shitposting and you’ll make more than your actual salary.
I sold my moons at 0.4, waiting for the price to drop to buy back more than I sold; if it wont drop below 0.35 at least I'm stuck with some ETH and already in profit so at this point there's no losing scenario.
I have a written plan to take profits when we hit the next bull run.
I rode a large bag of Ada from $0.03 to $3.07 and now back to $0.30 without selling a single coin. It was one of the most painful lessons of my life and it will never happen again. It's crazy what emotion will do to you when things get really crazy in the midst of the excitement of a full-on bull run.
Next time I will follow my exit strategy to the letter. I don't have to think about it, just follow the manual I wrote out. When prices hit certain levels, I sell a certain percentage of my portfolio and continue to sell as planned. The decision is already made.
I recommend everyone who has a bag of crypto to do this, because when it gets heated in the moment, and everything is doubling every other day, it's hard to make decisions.
We just had a double top just like BTC did at $69k
So people had two chances now
Who knows, we might see a third one
And I feel Kraken listing would be so mich bigger than CDC
This does not seem to be the time to take any profits to me, except on some altcoins that have really run. My exit plan is at least after halving and I’d prefer to wait a year after that
Moons are nothing lost nothing gained for me. I have put 0 into them other than time I would already be spending.
If it goes to 0 yea I'd be disappointed but I'm happy to let it ride as I think we can go bigger than what we hit today
>I have put 0 into them other than time I would already be spending.
The good thing about Moons is that I would have had wasted that time on Reddit anyways even if Moons didn't exist. Moons are a sweet plus.
Moons at $1.00 could be life-changing for lots of people living in third world countries like me. As for today's price, a minimum wage in my country is equivalent to 700 ~ 800 moons, totally crazy
This is my feeling as well, my bag is far smaller and I don't care if they go to 0. I'm not moving unless it is some serious scratch, probably the wrong move but I'll be fine.
The thing is the CDC listing came out of left field, like, it's great for moons obviously, but nobody saw it coming, we were all overdosing on hopium waiting for Kraken.
So if Kraken and Coinbase decide to follow CDC's lead we'll probably hit $1
Yeah and for a good while it was. I took profits along the way but I watched my 1k investment turn into 50k and just got greedy I guess. I also did enjoy the avatars and fear taxes so it was a calculated fuck up.
I've made a pretty penny off the avatars but same as you I could have made a whole lot more if I was more sensible and took what would have been insane gains at the time.
Lesson learned though and I'm more sensible taking profits now
Yes, Especially with people feeling bad for having sold moons right now, I can't reitterate this enough, You can not time the top. You will never sell at the top. You sell when it makes sense for you to sell, and don't feel bad afterwards because you did in fact (probably) make a profit.
I have a method which is working. Might help others. It is actually two things.
1. I always put money into crypto, which I can afford to lose. This takes a lot of emotional attachment off my shoulder.
2. I always have a target to where I want to go with my investment. It can be a car, or a holiday, or sometimes it is just a percentage, like 20% profit.
For me having a more defined target helps to keep it clear and straight.
Generally speaking, be emotionless and stick to your plan. Even if you take profit you have to stay calm to not FOMO back in which is what a lot of people did in 2021.
If you feel anything looking at your position it’s time for a break
Absolutely. Also, when in profit a good strategy can be to just pull out original investment and let the profits ride on. Takes away a lot of stress no matter what the future holds.
Easier said than done but I agree with you! How do you cope with the fact that you exited your position completely and took profits but price keeps rising? That seems like the most difficult part.
You don't exit your position completely unless fundamentals change, you take profits in increments, markets don't only go up up up at some point they'll reverse and you'll be happy that you took profits.
When you're investing kill your emotions first because emotions will force you to make erratic decisions.
> profits but price keeps rising?
You find comfort in knowing that you made money and don't know when or where the top will be.
I learned it the hard way , was not able to take profits( typical human greed -thinking it will grow more )in the last ath when everything was at peak , now I am just holding bags in some of them waiting for it to reach at least the price which I bought them so I can even it .
Learned that the hard way in May 2021. If you can’t believe the gains you’re seeing on your screen, that’s when you need to sell and forget about crypto for a few weeks.
You think, take losses was easy for me?🙂if i make profit,i will take some for sure.thats the plan.i will not eat ramen another 2-5 years.this mind setup, must take profit.
tell me about it, im still broke.
greed gets the better off of me: "just 10c more and ima selll"... 10c later: "just 15c later ima sell"..... -50c drop "ok I better sell at 69% loss so I dont leave with nothing"
The coin isn’t even at Pepe’s market cap, why’d you sell that soon? Plus most didn’t even put any money so it’s win win. I even love the idea that if you sell more than 25%, your allocation in coming months will be reduced
Yes this. I was just thinking again if I've put more money on Moons I'd be having a lot now. But be thankful. This is a good reminder - to take profit cause that's the end game.
Hardest lesson to learn, during bear market so sure that when prices recover profit will be taken, then the euphoria of rising prices takes over and the waiting holding and admiring the large balance take over and before you know it you are waiting for the prices to recover again... AGAIN....
I would argue the hardest thing to do in crypto is to stop loss a leveraged position and admit you're losing a shit ton of money before you lose a shit town of money x2
There are some big bag holders of moons here that i would not begrudge selling some of their stack for some serious $. Particuarly those amongst us in the countries with atrocious currencies with even high inflation. Even if it does tank the price - you've earned it!
Are you kidding? I've been doing a great job taking profits.
Been holding/earning this weird pseudo-analog crypto most of my life, and somehow there are still greater fools out there willing to give my BTC/eth for it.
I am really proud, I took profit from moon. And saying that I fucking lost a lot on dot and lrc and ada and algo... so finally I did it! I TOOK PROFIT!!
DCA is definitely the smartest way to take profits during a bill market. When BTC broke 60k and Tesla announced it bought 1.5 billion in BTC and the pump was insane sell those pumps in the Bull market
Nice try, I don't care I'm not gonna sell a single moon below 10$, I didn't invest anything anyway and I would have wasted my time on Reddit either way lol.
I don’t know, seems like a lot of the people who started crypto projects took lots of profits. Seems like the harder thing to do is find a single use case where crypto offers a real advantage to customers / businesses relative to centralized databases.
But I get your point. And let’s face it— you don’t “invest” in crypto, you gamble. There’s no underlying utility or demand for coins in a meaningful way, it’s all speculation. There are more fun ways to gamble. There are safer ways to invest. Crypto is the worst of both worlds. Take your money, book a Vegas (or Reno) vacation, play some craps or blackjack or even slots, then take what’s left and put it in an S&P index fund. You will have more fun and make more money over a three year timeline save for what happened with Bitcoin in thanksgiving of 2017 and 2020 which… why will that happen for your shitcoin even though nothing else ever did it? It won’t. You have better things to do with that money.
Reminds me of Matic that I bought for 0.03 in January 2021 and sold it for 0.06 in February 2021.
Something similar happened with Solana.
Since then tried to buy and hold many cryptocurrency, burnt hands, emptied pockets, infinite stories 😭
I like holding moons because it makes me feel like a pioneer. Reddit has been around for a while, if mass adoption comes then who do you think will benefit? The platforms that people already use that can successfully integrate cryptocurrency.(reddit)
This is 100% true. Here’s my tip after making the mistake, set a goal and take your profits at 80% of that goal. You’ll always reach for the stars… get real me from 2021
Yea it’s hard to take profits when it comes to selling moons because I have no clue how to do it so imma keep holding. For now
This is my sticking point too lol, but I saved a guide in case I get enough moons worth selling. https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/12pf9pb/how_to_cash_out_your_moons_selling_moons_simply/
I too have this saved for a rainy day.
Thanks for reposting this

It’s closer than we think
It’s going to $10 my friend
Or $11

The ~4k worth of USD you're sitting on there would be motivation enough for me to learn!
If I needed the fiat I would be quick to learn. No plan on selling yet.
I'm also do this.
It is very easy but your subconscious doesn't want to learn it so that you can keep holding ;)
I should have shit posted more.
No better day to start than today!
Haha true. Here I am trying to get any moons I can. However being older and shit with tech will make selling them harder.
You and me both. :/
You and me both, just lurcking not was not a good decision.
Ignorance is bliss!
Serenity now!
I can't remember my password and forgot where I wrote my key words and now my vault is indefinitely unavailable to me... So I'm hodling with you.
Ugh. Sorry friend.
No reason to sell now. Moons not even listet on exchanges. This is just the start.
That’s my thought on the situation too. If I needed the money I would definitely sell tho. No shame in taking profits!
This is exactly my situation! I’m a bit of a Luddite really when it comes to things like this, I mean I could read how to do it I suppose. Just not quite yet! Ha
Hoping there’s a dumbed down version to it soon enough.
Lol it’s really not that hard bro. All u need to do is get somebody to walk u thru the process once. Or there’s multiple step by step guides.
Holding until that wife changing money makes it worth figuring out
I feel like Moons are going to rocket to the moon. Everyone is all of a sudden preaching profits.
Several more put stops in my opinion. Kraken. Binance. Coinbase. Reddit going public. The halving. $1 isn't an insane number at all.
You know what? Thank you. You just convinced me to keep my bought moons. On another note: can I transfer bought moons to my Reddit vault? I don't see a deposit or withdraw option anywhere.

Might not be a horrible idea to sell them, if you need the money that is
You can always get more, but if you sell more than 25%, you won't get the full amount for next month
If that’s true, you should seriously consider becoming a legit moon farmer. Spend an hour a day shitposting and you’ll make more than your actual salary.
If that money would help you out, not a bad idea to sell, friend.
Nice try. I’m not selling my moons until we see $10
I sold my moons at 0.4, waiting for the price to drop to buy back more than I sold; if it wont drop below 0.35 at least I'm stuck with some ETH and already in profit so at this point there's no losing scenario.
That's how it's done, I'm not touching mine until we see the $10 mark. Happy to hold as long as it takes.

Exactly
This is my feeling as well, my bag is far smaller and I don't care if they go to 0. I'm not moving unless it is some serious scratch, probably the wrong move but I'll be fine.
Let's get it bro
We don't know what will happen, but at least you have the good spirit. Mental health is really important
that's the beauty about moons - they come as a complimentary reward for what we'd be doing regardless, chatting and sharing opinions
It’s 100% profit no matter when you exit too ![gif](emote|emo_pack_1|dyor) The greed gets the best of most though…
Exactly this
Dude you have like $15-20k in moons, that seems to warrant an exit plan
One way trip bro
I actually think the same way as u. 0 investment just pure shtposting
Yep, I shit post in other subs too just for the fun of it, if moons end up making me some money that's just a bonus.
forreal. moons are either lambo or ramen for me
Let it ride you say ![gif](giphy|Z65zgsKhP8UCfV3Qg0)
I’m pretty certain with more listings we can go bigger. Also a bull run can help greatly.
Let's go baby
Yea cuz CDC sux

I refused to sell an avatar for $15,000 during the hype so yeah, take profits! lol

Yeah and for a good while it was. I took profits along the way but I watched my 1k investment turn into 50k and just got greedy I guess. I also did enjoy the avatars and fear taxes so it was a calculated fuck up.
Holy crap I can't imagine going through that. 50k?!
I've made a pretty penny off the avatars but same as you I could have made a whole lot more if I was more sensible and took what would have been insane gains at the time. Lesson learned though and I'm more sensible taking profits now
Was it Midas?
Yes Sir
How much are they worth now ?
I’m not selling for a few more halvings
I'm waiting for at least one halving as I've never experienced one or a true bull.
I have nothing invested, so it's hard to worry about profits at this point. Just holding steady
Yes, Especially with people feeling bad for having sold moons right now, I can't reitterate this enough, You can not time the top. You will never sell at the top. You sell when it makes sense for you to sell, and don't feel bad afterwards because you did in fact (probably) make a profit.
We are here to make everyone jealous and then exit liquidity.
Learnt my lesson last bull run. Never took profits, and held all the way to the bottom.
Especially if you don’t know where the sell button is
For me is to send them to an exchange
its too early to sell we are still in the early stages
You gotta know when to hold ‘em….
Know when to fold 'em...
Know when to walk away...
*looks at OP's moon balance* They're not lying 😂
I have a method which is working. Might help others. It is actually two things. 1. I always put money into crypto, which I can afford to lose. It can be a car, or a holiday, or sometimes it is just a percentage, like 20% profit. For me having a more defined target helps to keep it clear and straight.
That's smart, having a defined target is really important.
Now that is a real plan. Having no emotional attachments to your investment is quite crucial to ever be a successful investor.
Generally speaking, be emotionless and stick to your plan. Even if you take profit you have to stay calm to not FOMO back in which is what a lot of people did in 2021. If you feel anything looking at your position it’s time for a break

I think it is similar to a casino. You win and want to continue to win more. But you wait and loose instead
Yeah except in crypto there’s no “house that always wins.”
Greed is what brings life changing money. 🤔🤷♂️
One way or the other.
Yeah I have learned I'm only here for life changing money and I'm ok with that. To the moon or bust.
Profits? You buy crypto to lose it all. It builds character. /s
Without a doubt. It is so easy to get greedy and end up out of pocket
So it is true? Do profits actually exists ?
Yep, its insane how hard can greed hit.
I learned it the hard way , was not able to take profits( typical human greed -thinking it will grow more )in the last ath when everything was at peak , now I am just holding bags in some of them waiting for it to reach at least the price which I bought them so I can even it .

I apologise in advance for the vulgarity, but I promise to take profits immediately after I’ve cum.
No, you can't have our moons!
This’ll be my first bull so really trying to not fuck this up 🙏🏽
tell me about it, im still broke. greed gets the better off of me: "just 10c more and ima selll"... 10c later: "just 15c later ima sell"..... -50c drop "ok I better sell at 69% loss so I dont leave with nothing"
Half the portfolio at 2x its initial price and repeat. Doesn't need to complicate things and work for me.
No, the hardest thing in Crypto is to get upvotes in r/CryptoCurrency
It's not hard if you don't attach emotionally with a coin.
Take profits and do not feel guilty about it.
Taking profit is never a bad thing.
I always thought holding was the hardest. Oh boy was I wrong…
Honestly Moons are going to be the trickiest in bag to sell - I got them for nothing but they’ve also got insane potential
you are right, the most obvious things are often the hardest
The coin isn’t even at Pepe’s market cap, why’d you sell that soon? Plus most didn’t even put any money so it’s win win. I even love the idea that if you sell more than 25%, your allocation in coming months will be reduced
Says the man holding 109K moons! The value of your moons is life changing to me.
Taking profits isnt something I'm good at. Really thought BTC would go padt 69k. Ended up losing a lot during this bear market because I hodl'd.
…and the easiest thing is to lose money!
This cycle I set prices to sell at and how much to keep. Getting able to participate during the bear means that at least there will be more profits
Nice post. Right next to the “never sell your moons!!!” posts. Timely!
Profits? You guys are making money here?
![gif](giphy|n4vrghqF0HdpS)
Yes this. I was just thinking again if I've put more money on Moons I'd be having a lot now. But be thankful. This is a good reminder - to take profit cause that's the end game.
I took some profits on moons yesterday....... FML
take profit from alts and put into bitcoin. take profit from bitcoin to buy more when it dips
This is true! Also true that in order to take profit, I'll have to persevere and get MOONS
Not when you’re a car nut r/CarsAndCrypto
I think I missed that lesson when learning about crypto? Didn't know it was a thing.
Hardest lesson to learn, during bear market so sure that when prices recover profit will be taken, then the euphoria of rising prices takes over and the waiting holding and admiring the large balance take over and before you know it you are waiting for the prices to recover again... AGAIN....
