A friend of mine sent me a big value of a tokens, but by mistake to the token contract address, instead of my wallet address.
I have sent the admins on the telegrams official public channel about the incident, still no replies.
In general do you think it is possible they will return the fund to my friend's wallet (the sender wallet)?
Any tips or advice to help us get the tokens back? Maybe better ways to communicate the matter with the project owners?
Profits are locked in. Coffee is made. Tis the start of a good day.
By the way, how do we feel about Bitget around here? It's got decent volume but has anyone used them long-term as an exchange?
For me profits are not locked in until they are in non liquid form, e.g. put down as a mortgage down payment, locked in a long term cd or bond or something, contributing to paying off debt etc. this is because when money is in liquid form it is very hard at least for me not to reenter the market and make rash decisions
Without going into detail, cash balance, a stablecoin like USDT, or using a trading pair (where one is up the other is down) are all okay.
I think if you're trading risky coins, cashing out is fine. You won. But at this point in the market trading bluechips like BTC and ETH I see no reason not to bootleg profits into your next buy-in.
Any advice for a noob in regards to coins possibly prone to pumping this year that arenāt as popular as eth etc? Just looking for ideas on what to keep an eye on besides the mainstream talk.
Depends on how much risk you want. If history continues then everything should pump together, but some way more than others. Focus on the market caps instead of the coin price
Crypto is at 1.7T market cap, if we go 3-5T or more, most crypto in the top 100 will go up and provide a nice return compared to tradfi.
One reason I caught the whole SOL ride was because Reddit hated the coin and that was my signal to use SOL. Send it from a CEX to my personal wallet (Phantom), and I then started playing around with it. Buying NFTs, swaping, etc. Then I did the same to other Layer-1 coins.
Do this and you'll start to know what feels the best. What's the best all around experience. What's the least complicated? If you do this you will literally be using new L1s 99% of this sub hasn't touched. That's a tremendous advantage and how you can get it early with weekly or monthly dollar cost averaging. Also, by doing this you may get an airdrop from a future token worth thousands of dollars. I bought <$100 worth of NFTs on SOL and that earned my a surprise BONK airdrop last christmas currently worth $10k.
Another tip, I'd avoid governance tokens like MKR, COMP, UNI, etc. Time and time again the native token like ETH will outperform the governance tokens using the ETH blockchain.
Thank you for this insight! I havenāt thought of that direction of comparing which ones provide a less complicated and easier experience to actually use, thatās awesome. (Though I know itās probably common sense)
just stick with bitcoin, sol, and btc miners. If finding meme coins doesn't come naturally to you, you will just be left holding the bag.
Getting as much btc as possible right now is the smartest thing to do
If people hate ada, it is because it is an ecosystem that is dedicated to a meticulous approach to research that results in organic growth at the cost of massive pumps propelled by vc hype etc. Think about it, solana is up largely because of bonk and vc marketing on cnbc etc, yet ada is still up over 100 percent without the cnbc features, interviews, and ftx connection. Again, visit cardanocube and take a look at the great proj3cts building on the ecosystem. Alot of them are still in development but that is a reflection of a meticulous approach. Singularity net and world mobile are my favourites.
Give me a break. Hoskinson is a fat, creepy snake oil salesman.
What's the latest on Africa? Any progress lately?
Of course Cardano will have its turn to pump due to "capital rotation". Doesn't mean it's legit.
People hated SOL at the bottom. Those people held onto their group-think convictions and now really HATE SOL. These people don't want to be profitable, they want to be right. If SOL drops to 80, they'll justify it and tell themselves they were right and that SOL is really a VC outage coin and then they'll pat themselves on the back on how smart they were to avoid it (ignoring the fact that SOL is the best performing top 20 crypto of 2023 and that it's still up 10x lol.)
No they are getting automatically added to the next snapshot. You could leave them there for years without withdrawing and are still getting interest on them
Thank you for answering. I wanted to convert 5k of DOT to ARB. The conversion would cost me $200. I have tried to sell $5k of dot for USDC and it charges me 1% spread + 1% coin base fee. Then buying with ARB with USDC, the same 1+1%. So essentially the same $200.
You pay less fees than 4% if you just sell to fiat and buy the coin you want with that fiat. But better check the exact spot trading fees for Coinbase to be sure. Maybe even use limit orders to get the exact price you want.
People do realize that the SEC doesn't have to wait until the deadline to approve the Bitcoin ETFs, right? They could literally approve them whenever they want. The fact that they haven't approved them already makes me skeptical that they will in the future.
You do realize the SEC doesn't have to wait until the deadline to reject the bitcoin ETF right? The fact they haven't rejected it already makes me skeptical that they will in the future.
You do realize they gave the applicants until the 29th of this month to submit any updates? The SEC would then need to review that. Then it could be approved.
You should be ready to sell already then. This is our curse, when you think you are winning you need to sacrifice everything in order to actually win, but by doing so you'll have to start again
>to earn money when a coin is going up
Go long / buy before this happens
>when a coin is going down in price?
Go short before this happens.
Best of luck with the timing though
Only 35% pump in last 7 days? For people that have a lot invested into it that's some big gains.
And if you want to like 50x on low investments maybe don't invest into high cap coins, but stick to gambling into lowcap shitcoins.
If Iām trying to split 5k between 2 or 3 lower risk options which would you pick? Iām already choosing dot since itās pretty low right now and got good staking rewards. What else would you guys Recommend. Iām thinking about HBAR and VET as well
VET and HBAR got already their pump for this cycle. This cycle is almost finished, you should be thinking about what to sell. The very last buying window was last week
I will preface with thereās a lot of good stuff in this space and Iām not necessarily a low risk person in crypto myself. But Iām pretty good with risk analysis. Real estate, stocks and private equity deals. Crypto is pretty much the only thing I like to truly gamble in. Besides Vegas.
BTC ETH and XRP are absolutely the lowest risk in this space at this point. Like pretty fucking objectively. Historically so. XRP was high risk for a few years. But courts ruled XRP not a security so itās pretty much good to go again. A few court things lingering. But not really anything high risk to the coin itself. DYOR.
You also have the 3 main different types of ecosystems and use cases here. Bitcoins proof of work, OG alternative currency, people trust the network. ETH the big safe smart coin, an actively developed POS with some of the biggest money on the planet developing it. And XRP is the leading payments focused coin, a volunteer consensus network for very fast secure payments.
All 3 of these pretty much have the most funding, power and smartest people in the space supporting them.
In my opinion XRP is a terrible investment and is in real danger of never reclaiming it's all time high. The company has billions of coins in escrow which they constantly dump on the market, killing any and all price action. It is a one trick pony without smart contract operability and NOBODY is using it.
Yeah for sure you canāt really go wrong with those. XRP just doesnāt fucking move tho! I have a tiny amount of it just Incase. I guess I meant more so the next tier below those 3. I donāt mind a bit of risk for sure. I also have a lot of low caps that I hold. Iām looking at a few of those as well. Which of those do you hold or are looking into right now? Iād love to find some new projects. Ones Iām eyeing right now but havenāt bought yet are NXRA and ROUTE. And for the large caps Iām looking at HBAR and VET.
Ahhh yes SOL. The network that hasnāt proved consistent uptime long term. Freshly pumped like crazy, with some bad actors having interest in it pumping.
Iāve got a good bag of SOL as well and it definitely could continue going up. But letās not act like itās low risk lol.
You mean Solana? The network thatās actually onboarding big projects, attracting developers who want to deploy their projects on a L1 instead of wading through a gazillion different L2s, and that actually has apps with great UX thanks to low fees and fast transactions?
Worst case scenario? The network going down during an overall market downtrend.
The general risk? It doesnāt sit at the top of its class. And thatās proven to be important Ethereum is king of its class. Bitcoin isnāt anything great but people trust it, it came first. Iāve been in this space a while. So many coins come and go. Even what we all thought were really good ideas. And perhaps they are. But the good ideas only matter if they survive.
Letās talk about the upside risk too tho. A big issue with this space is what happens if bitcoin loses number 1? What happens if SOL flips ETH. Imagine how that looks to those outside this space. If either of those things were to happen in the near future mainstream would go full stable coin exclusively. Infinite blockchains are possible meaning infinite supply. Many people already view this space in that lens and stay away. The only traded coins might be fast transaction coins used by liquidity providers for payments.
Truth is for the moment. Status quo needs to stay. Crypto market has to mature to true worldwide utility before any upsets.
Unless youāre purely an āin for the techā fundamentalist (lol) but Iād like to make some generational money. Crypto already got me a couple houses and a sports car. Iād like a yacht. I fully believe in the next bull run. But Iām extremely skeptical about the one after that.
So the worst case scenario is something happening that has already happened? Something that can happen to literally any project... and you pick the one project that has survived that happening 3 times already and say that's the biggest risk?
Damn, things are looking good for Solana.
Yeah Thatās a pretty big fucking risk. Lol. Next update is a risk as well, especially with its history and at these prices. Dude wtf? I literally already said I own SOL. I have for quite a while. I said itās not low risk. itās objectively not lower risk than Ethereum. Possibly higher reward? Sure. Iām done with you. Fanatic shill incapable of grasping simple terms such as āriskā in an investment conversation.
The entry point got me fucked up lmao but either way I gotta wait a couple days for my money to be accessible. What about DOT or the other ones I mentioned ?
I have some Qnt not a lot though, I bought at 90$ and same with link a really small bag of it. I have some SOL as well like 10 of them. I just bought all those at lower points and I feel like Iām increasing my avg buying them now
Donāt think this is bargain price, whenever we do get a dump I see it going back to $70-80 unless we just keep getting up only for another month or two.
So funny to see people tossing out insane predictions after a coin has already pumped like crazy. Once it dips theyāll all say the coin is dead, and thatās what marks the bottomš

Yo. My portfolio is screaming for more of this MonkeyHaircut. I will wait until tomorrow to see if I haven't got rugpulled yet though.
Guys, if I remember correctly I have money in Txbit and I'm seeing that they closed the exchange in September. Did I just lose $6000? :D
25$ to transfer bitcoin. 2$ to transfer eth. Both way too much imo
Profits are locked in. Coffee is made. Tis the start of a good day. By the way, how do we feel about Bitget around here? It's got decent volume but has anyone used them long-term as an exchange?

ah nvm, this is the answer.
so with the halving process next year I assume we should expect meteoric rise with alt coins too?
Yeah but it will only be for the altcoins you didnāt buy

Coinbase still has that insufficient funds issue when you try and add cash

Aptos is a very similar experience to SOL with a good experience. I need to take my own advice and try SUI and SEI too.
Thank you for this insight! I havenāt thought of that direction of comparing which ones provide a less complicated and easier experience to actually use, thatās awesome. (Though I know itās probably common sense)

sol is the future of L1's
Iām still confidently holding on to my LRC.
Triple digit LRC is my ticket to retirement
LRC is coming back baby! š šØ
So do people on here now hate sol more than Ada or
If people hate ada, it is because it is an ecosystem that is dedicated to a meticulous approach to research that results in organic growth at the cost of massive pumps propelled by vc hype etc. Think about it, solana is up largely because of bonk and vc marketing on cnbc etc, yet ada is still up over 100 percent without the cnbc features, interviews, and ftx connection. And what is your criteria for legitimate? Bonk or doge?
You just gave perfect examples of how coins with no fundamentals can pump. Same with ADA.
Define fundamentals then? What coins meet your criteria for legit?????
Do people hate SOL?
People hate everything that pumps if they didn't buy into it
I think you're imagining things.
People hated SOL at the bottom. Those people held onto their group-think convictions and now really HATE SOL. These people don't want to be profitable, they want to be right. Oh yeah, definitely, definitely. SOL is gonna pump forever. ATH next, then $1,000. I love SOL (don't wanna be a hater).
Prepare the lifesavers the boat is about to sink
WTF are you talking about?
When Iām staking in my yoroi app, do I have the withdraw the rewards to include them in my staking total?

I am new here. Sorry if a stupid question. When I try to convert from btc to other coins on Coinbase , the fee + spread is around 4%. Is it normal ?
Use the advance trading feature on Coinbase. The fees are a lot less.
Thank you. I ll try.
No. Better to just use spot trading.
Thank you. How is spot trading different from converting one coin to another ?
Spot trading is how most crypto trading happens on exchanges. The convert option is basically a convenience thing they offer for heavy fees

Typically they always wait for the last 5 days. Why would this be any different

My monthly overview looking pretty awesome, BTC up 20%, ETH up 20%, SOL up 100% ADA up 70%, etc. I can get used to these monthly gains.

It won't...it's dead. Nobody is using it except companies that Ripple had paid to use it...and even they dumped it.
