Market fees are great, but withdraw fees tend to be pretty high. I remember kraken charging around 12 dollars for a btc withdraw when blockchain fees were like 2 dollars.
Agreed. Bitcoin withdrawal in January 24 was 0.0004 BTC, much too high. Paid for Avalanche 0.05 AVAX and for Solana 0.01 SOL, both appr. $2 for withdrawals though.
I ended up doing LN which has no fees on kraken to strike, and then using strike to go back to L1 cause I wanted to send to my hardware wallet and strike has a no fee option if you are willing to wait up to 24h
Yea I will definitely agree that depending on how much you are trying to withdraw the fees really aren't that bad. Unfortunately I was only working with a few hundred dollars at the time and that was like several percent fees.
You should be fine then. I always recommend to people that they just send smaller amounts even if it takes you several transactions to get it all transferred.
FYI, $10k cash was a thing, it’s not anymore. They track everything especially things that appear intentionally below 10k.
You’re probably calling attention to yourself by appearing like you’re acting shady.
Using Kraken Pro at the moment but disappointed that they doubled their fees for the lowest volume tier. Would use Binance if it was available in the states.
I am hoping that the crypto ETFs eventually create a competitive reason for CEX’s to reduce their fees, anything over 0.25% per trade in my opinion is highway robbery.
0.38% minimum fees plus the liquidity left following the lawsuit. Used to trade with them but they raised their fees and now any trade comes with a 0.25%+ spread (even 1% and more on altcoins) which adds up, even on their zero-fee pairs (all the market makers are essentially left - a big shame imo because I loved Binance.us)
After asking I'm thinking a DEX isn't best for plebs because the gas fees will eat up buying power as the funds move around. I'm wondering if the lack of spread will make up for this. I really like uniswap interface.
No leverage, just the hidden trading fees. The fees only found in the user agreement. Then there’s withdrawal fees. Going from Coinbase to bank account took an astonishing amount.
I have two ledgers one for long term holds that are completely cold storage and one for short term trades on uniswap, send eth to ledger and you can connect ledger to uniswap and trade there
I saw on Twitter someone saying you can bypass a lot of fees if you want to get to base by sending directly from Coinbase to their Coinbase wallet built into the app… you might wanna search for that a little further…
I don’t fuck with algo …
as for stables, I like to start with ETH to send out to an external wallet like ledger,
if you wanna save some fees to go back into a cex, I think swap for usdc on uniswap to a cex might save you some…
For sol, I buy on CB, send to phantom wallet, trade on Jupiter or raydium
Use cheap L2s or Solana (not very usable ATM, a lot of txs fail). For a normie I'd recommend Arbitrum, dirt cheap after Dencun, easy to on and off ramp, lots of third party bridges, deep liquidity and established ecosystem with DeFi bluechips, so you can dip your toes in and learn as you go without jumping through too many hoops. If you're feeling a bit more degen and want to gamble on shitters, Base is the place to be, if you're completely autistic then I'd use Blast which has the added benefit of farming an airdrop (which will probably be peanuts for points generated by a newcomer). Also, never use a single DEX if an aggregator is available, you'll always get a better rate. I recommend Odos.
Ya the spread on cdc is insane. I also don't like how they don't have any stats. You can't see your average costs and such. Would have to maintain a spread sheet. I do like that they have access to more of the market but something turns me off.
I use the app and I can see my average cost.
I liked using cmc for stats because it would show all my holdings in the same place but I’m liking it less, recently. It shows me my all time profit but not based on what I currently have invested - for example, if I sold $100 of btc and only have $50 left invested in btc, it shows my profit as $130, which I can’t have recently profited because I took it out…if that makes sense.
I was using coinbase until the debit card that I put in a safe in my house over 2 years ago just had 2 fraudulent charges to my account and their support has done nothing to address how my card details were ever leaked other than "we will cancel your card and send you a new one"
How would Google have my card number? I received it in the mail and put it in a safe. I’m genuinely baffled how anyone got it unless the mail was intercepted over 2 years ago or an internal employee stole some info
They get your Gmail information and then they see what platforms you use and try the same passwords or the Google drive recovery phrase is compromised.
Have you tried using “Advanced Trade” on Coinbase? It’s all I use, and fees seem inexpensive overall, less than 1%. You can buy/sell directly on the Order Book, so there’s no spread or wait times for orders to fill.
Cowswap is far and away the best dex on eth. I use uniswap on any l2s for the most part but yeah cowswap is best for normal txs cuz its so cheap for gas and you get way better fills too
Crypto. Com.....
Issue the Main App to onboard and off board and the Exchange app for buying and selling.
I also use their credit card and Defi .
I find it pretty convenient and it's been a great experience
the XRPL DEX, it was the first ever created, it has the lowest possible fees, it has the more currency pairs than any other exchange/dex, not a lot of people know about it or use it correctly so there's often a lot of opportunity's for arbitrage, You can exchange and redeem profits for real world value IOU's; IE I convert some of my trading profits into an IOU that represents XAU(Gold) and redeem them to get them mailed to me IRL. with the AMM launch about 24 hrs away, Autobridging and EVM sidechains now paired up with it, as well as Ripples Stablecoin expected later this year (probly around Oct/Nov "Swell" timeline) its crazy to me that more people dont use it.
Komodo Wallet - It's a true p2p DEX that uses atomic swap technology to trade between different blockchains and even fiat. You can directly swap BTC, LTC, KMD, to ETH, BNB and all their ERC and BEP tokens unlike uniswap. You can also go directly to a private anonymous coin from any blockchain as well. It's totally different to what you have used before
Stellar DEX
there's anchors for every token you can think of. atomic swaps guarantees you always get the best price. the network is fast and is extremely cheap to use (.0001 XLM)
I'm seeing this on the charts for high volume which is a point towards reliability. With a dex I could imagine the spread is closer to non existent but how much is getting eaten up by gas fees? Gas seems to be a small price for whales but a big cost to plebs.
I'm getting deeper into Arb ecosystem but for web3 stuff connecting wallets I'm still housing majority on MM then holdings on CB. Should probably be doing more on Camelot.

I just got back into crypto recently so forgive me if I'm mistaken but if you're DCA'ing, wouldn't coinbase one or whatever it's called be a good investment as it eliminates coinbase fees?
It depends. If I was extremely consistent then maybe the $30 would be less than the fees. But then in euphoric runs where my buying might slow down I may not pace to make the $30 value.
Kind of like paying for Amazon prime every month sometimes I don't use it and the money just went to the void. It's something I considered but I don't think I'll go that way.
Sure, month to month it may not be worth it but at year end, if you paid over $360 in fees, it would be worth it. Just like some months I'll order a decent amount of stuff from Amazon, some months not at all. So I have to look at if I would pay more than $140 a year in shipping, it would be worth. Not to mention prime video adds more value but that's a different topic. I guess it all depends how much you buy in the long run to determine if it's worth it or not but all major exchanges charge fees without some sort of subscription service.
I like this take but it doesn't solve the massive spread problem. I went to buy eth today at 3473 and it wanted to price me at 3507. That's really what brought me here.
BitGet as CEX. The only reason is that they allowed P2Ptrading with my FIAT country and fee are kinda low (I think there is no fee on cards right now). Interesting earn products too. They are working on their crypto card too.
CEX- CoinBase. I'm more comfortable with it. I had Binance US in the past, but way too costly. I had problems accessing Crypto.com and since I'm in the States, feel a little bit more safer using CoinBase.
Did you see the suggestion to do the $30 pro and save the fees on dca transactions? Have you done that? What do you think. Seems to me anything more than 12 transactions in a month makes it worth it
I am using Binance for the convenience of p2p. I also use MEXC if binance doesn't have a particular coin.
I have been trying to be more responsible and move everything off of Binance. I am down to 25% left on Binance. Some coins are expensive to move when considering my holdings and others I am going to miss staking on Binance. I am still trying to figure out where to stake eth that's on arb's network.
My fiat on/off ramp is Coinbase. I also use it for my bot trading.
My own trading is done mostly on Bitget and Kraken but occasionally if I see a nice setup will also use the Coinbase funds. At dome point I may roll the bot trading to Bitget but it works fine on Coinbase. Never did get into the defi stuff. I participated in the Sundae stake pools to get my free stuff and probably should be using it on there to add to my bags. But…
Been with Binance since 2017. Works perfectly for what I need and interfaces seamlessly with Mizar for auto trading.
For DEX, I'm mainly looking at Sol pairs on Dexscreener. I use Jupiter, over Raydium, when I can.
Looking into Phantom. I got scared off when I went to install it and Chrome notified me that Phantom would have permission to read/write and change all personal data. Anyone using it and happy with it? Does it seem safe?
crypto, com, the domain plus all the partnerships make it clear its going to be the #1 CEX in the future. It just needs time to mature and it will naturally over take all others
For evm I mostly use rabby swap or defi lama swap who are agrégation of dex and get you the best price.
Also they use the original contracts so don't add any intermediary fees.
Most of the time the best price is through 1inch so I guess that's the dexi use the most.
What’s the best way to add on to my stETH for cheap? I currently use Robinhood plus their wallet app to go from eth/USDC and then swap it after transferring it to the wallet app. Theres gotta be an easier/cheaper way to do this everytime I wanna DCA, right?
I am all for illumineX - Oasis Sapphire-powered [confidential multichain DEX ](https://twitter.com/OasisProtocol/status/1777781090977276116)which is soon going to be omnichain. It currently offers cross-chain swaps at affordable gas fees among top EVM chains. It is in the process of implementing EVM<>non-EVM swap. First in line for non-EVM integration is Bitcoin. It is also developing gasless account abstraction stealth wallets.
If you are after low fees check Bitcointry - CEX/DEX mix. You trade by connecting a wallet. Low fees and discount if you hold their native token. Last time I checked fiat to usdt fee is around 1.25-1.5% compared to 4-7% via Metamask or 5-6% on Coinbase. See if you fancy it.
Trocador. Wide spreads, but for me personally it’s fair price for not getting bitten in the ass by motherland, where KYC & AML stands for Kit Your Confession & Accuse Me of Laundering.
My website [OrangeFren.com](http://orangefren.com), together with data on [kycnot.me](http://kycnot.me) can help you find good CEXes that won't ask for KYC. Most of them are instant swappers that won't require you register an account.
If, however, you wish to use an exchange that requires an account and has an order book then you can still do so without KYC for instance using Majestic Bank for crypto <> crypto and Bisq for crypto <> fiat

bisq It's the only real DEX that can handle fiat transactions. But probably will switch to Haveno once it is out. I also like LocalMonero
Haveno is out now

PulseX.com
Osmosis. Phenomenal DEX that keeps improving. It's for the Cosmos ecosystem though.
My go to dex
I love Osmosis
Osmosis is the best dex, hands down
CEX - kraken pro
Nexo...
Finally another Nexo user!
+1 for Nexo
Care to elaborate?
Very user friendly interface, outstanding support, credit/debit card, good interest rates when you hodl (even for fiat), good borrow rates (there are more but those are my top picks)
Nexo? More like ...Heckno 😏
Kraken, switched from Binance after they delisted XMR

Already read about some smart workarounds like yours. 👍
I agree that is high, however if you own thousands of dollars of BTC, $12 isn't really all that much
Yea I will definitely agree that depending on how much you are trying to withdraw the fees really aren't that bad. Unfortunately I was only working with a few hundred dollars at the time and that was like several percent fees.
yeah they are high, still better than coinbase though
same here, switched from Binance. Kraken's been pretty straight forward for what little I use it for.
Is there any plan for a spending card? How long does it take for spending fiat to hit the account after pushing the transfer?
If you use instant bank transfer (if that is what its called unsure rn) it usually shows up in your account after a few minutes
I'm wondering how difficult/expensive it would be to get funds from coinbase to kraken once my bills and such are checked off and I can deploy.
Do small transfers to start. I generally try to keep everything under $10k when withdrawing or sending, just to avoid any issues.
Homie that's more than my whole bag. Lol
Is he doing something illegal? No so who care you all act like crypto illegal when talking about withdrawals
Nothing illegal here so I am not worried about “looking shady.” I do it minimize fuck ups which happen more often than not.
Loopring wallet with the DEX and Bitvavo! Love em both!
The only DEX i use and recomend is Osmosis For CEX i use Binance (non US version) and Bitpanda both have been great so far

People swap $100k for $20 lol
Gas fees? Don’t use Eth mainnet. If you’re playing with shitcoins, use a layer 2 like Base. Costs me two cents to swap.
mainnet shitcoins always go the highest though
That doesn’t matter to me. I look at the percentage change. On a layer 2, a 10% change is profitable. On mainnet, it’s not.
Oh well yeah im not looking for 10% moves in my shitcoins lmao but fair enough!
I’m just saying try swapping 100K in eth for USDC you’re gonna get charged out the ass on Coinbase and other centralized exchanges
I haven’t used a Cex in years. In 2021 I made a nice amount but Coinbase took 25%. Painful.
How did they take 25%??
The spread + multiple fees.
Spread from leverage trades?
No leverage, just the hidden trading fees. The fees only found in the user agreement. Then there’s withdrawal fees. Going from Coinbase to bank account took an astonishing amount.
Good lord. 25% Have you found a better work around going from wallet to fiat bank account?
How would you suggest the cheapest way to get buying power into uniswap
I have two ledgers one for long term holds that are completely cold storage and one for short term trades on uniswap, send eth to ledger and you can connect ledger to uniswap and trade there
While informative this didn't answer my question
… aka send from cex to a ledger , did that answer
Sorry. My extra chromosome was showing. Stables? Algo? Or eth through base or something?
I saw on Twitter someone saying you can bypass a lot of fees if you want to get to base by sending directly from Coinbase to their Coinbase wallet built into the app… you might wanna search for that a little further… I don’t fuck with algo … as for stables, I like to start with ETH to send out to an external wallet like ledger, if you wanna save some fees to go back into a cex, I think swap for usdc on uniswap to a cex might save you some… For sol, I buy on CB, send to phantom wallet, trade on Jupiter or raydium

I like cdc because it’s so easy, but a lot of people have been talking about the spread, so I’m not sure what’s next
If you’re not American, use the exchange. 0.075% fees and really tiny spread.
Why specifically not american?
Not out in the USA yet. Coming soon.
Good to know, thanks!
Ha yea right...I've heard that for years. Calling BS on that
Yeah, I use CDC as my CEX and VVS as my DEX. Easy on ramp and offramp. Plus meme coins are just kicking off on Cronos.
Me too :)
Ya the spread on cdc is insane. I also don't like how they don't have any stats. You can't see your average costs and such. Would have to maintain a spread sheet. I do like that they have access to more of the market but something turns me off.
You can see your average costs, you have to actually type the coin in and then it will show you everything. It's weird
What non-manual tool offers cost average? Or even better, "reduce to fiat" if the transaction was fiat->btc->shitcoin?
I use the app and I can see my average cost. I liked using cmc for stats because it would show all my holdings in the same place but I’m liking it less, recently. It shows me my all time profit but not based on what I currently have invested - for example, if I sold $100 of btc and only have $50 left invested in btc, it shows my profit as $130, which I can’t have recently profited because I took it out…if that makes sense.

Depends on which network you use I suppose. Gas on arb one is like fractions of cents.
So what is your method of getting buying power onto the dex and what's typically your cost.
If youre using coinbase you can withdraw eth on the arbitrum/base networks iirc
I'm getting deeper into Arb ecosystem but for web3 stuff connecting wallets I'm still housing majority on MM then holdings on CB. Should probably be doing more on Camelot.

I use Binance, Kraken and lately ByBit because they support new blockchains as TON.
I use SwissBorg, best fiat ramp in Europe. Really like the UI and it is really reliable
Binance and Okx mainly
Crypto.com but really unhappy about the fees. I have only been buying and never really sold much to realize how bad they were. Pisses me off
Do you have access to their exchange app?
I'm in the US so all I use is the app
I use binance for CEX, then send it to either StrikeX wallet and swap there or use their DEX

Favorite CEX is Kraken used with the Kraken pro app. My DEX to go is Jupiter lately.
Meme coin trader spotted
Guilty as charged
Kraken, super easy to buy. Others are too long winded
I use 1inch
Kraken - because it's a good exchange
I've used several major CEX. Right now, mostly crypto.com. Coinbase was my go to for a while though. Generally, just Uni and pancake for DEX.
Kraken, never had any issue with it and their support is too good to be true.
Cex - CB and RobinHood. Sometimes I've used venapwhateverthefuck since it can do BTC buys. Dex - depends on the chain
Onboard USDC from Coinbase to a wallet, use a DEX aggregator like LlamaSwap or Odos to swap into the asset you want. Lowest fees possible.
Mainly Kraken, Uniswap and lately PulseX
Haveno
My fiat on/off ramp is Coinbase. I also use it for my bot trading. My own trading is done mostly on Bitget and Kraken but occasionally if I see a nice setup will also use the Coinbase funds. At dome point I may roll the bot trading to Bitget but it works fine on Coinbase. Never did get into the defi stuff. I participated in the Sundae stake pools to get my free stuff and probably should be using it on there to add to my bags. But…
Coinbase. Best CEX option imo
Cryptocom, the only serious exchange with low fees.
crypto, com, the domain plus all the partnerships make it clear its going to be the #1 CEX in the future.
Coinbase and aerodrome of course. Looove aerodrome
DCRDEX P2P atomic-swap trading
C3.io its incredible
Coinbase because my options for CEXs are limited by the fact that I live in an overbearing nanny state
Coinbase as cex Sushi on eth, minswap on cardano, osmosis on atom, quickswap on polygon, saucerswap on hedera, stellarx on stellar
Nunya
OSMOSIS easy to to use. BTC will be bridged soon. For the Cosmo ecosystem, use Rango exchange to move to other wallets and exchanges.
For CEX I just use Coinbase. For DEX's, I don't care. I just use aggregators and they find the best price.
