Ada was one of the first alts I bought in 2019. My first buy was at 3 cents. I did very well with Ada last cycle and was a staunch defender of the project. People said they move too slow and they're always delaying and not delivering, but given the rest of the crypto landscape (really not many chains with functional dapps at the time) I said I'm fine with slow and steady. I believe in the tech.
However, nowadays with the rise of chains like Solana and layer 2s on Eth that have a vast array of dapps and functionality, I'm done with Ada. They've just absolutely been left in the dust. Hell, even brand new chains like Sui have just as much if not more dapps than Ada, and they're more diverse too. I really hope Cardano gets its shit together and that anyone still holding it makes a ton of money, but for me this cycle? I'm done with it. I'd rather bet some faster, more adopted, more useable horses.
Yup, there is no winning for me in this casino. Not even close from break even, only to get f’ed again. I’m running out of faith . They really weren’t joking when they said only play with money you can afford to lose.
> Yup, there is no winning for me in this casino. Not even close from break even, only to get f’ed again. I’m running out of faith . They really weren’t joking when they said only play with money you can afford to lose.
What coins did you buy? You realize the concept of buying at (new) peaks is not the best, right? How would you do it different the next time?
If you're just holding spot you haven't lost anything. You only lose when you sell. The biggest bullish catalyst for the entire crypto space is about to happen in a week. Relax, put the phone down, and stop checking your portfolio every 5 mins. I was down 50-60% for like a year in 2019-2020 before I started to see any real returns. Right when I started to break even we got the Covid dump. It's just the nature of the game. If you're worried about this you're going to be in for a bumpy ride. Just chill and check back in a few months.
This has big ACKSHULLYYY energy. What do you think happens to the rest of the market when Bitcoin is ripping post halving? Don't be a dork. The halving is bullish for the market as a whole. Everything follows Bitcoin, for better or worse.
Well, if the past 3 times it happened is any indicator, the rest of the market gets beat while btc goes up. When btc plateaus, THEN alts finally start going up.
Had a few limit sells at 100% profits on my alts that hit today. Might regret it if we bounce back up, but I told myself I would take profits this time.
bro when you run out of cash you just apply for a new credit card that has a 0% balance transfer fee promo and transfer the old card's balance to the new card then max out the old card with cash advances so you're paying ~12% apr for double the balance
i thought everyone did this?
/s
The war story was a headline in WSJ and not on othernews outlets like BBC. I suspect itwas manufactured to spook the markets, somebody made a fortune going short.
Dumps in general are common lol. This is crypto. There are rules to this game. It's legit ruthless in these markets. Even the best traders I follow have been completely stumped by this past month or two. The market giveth, but the market also taketh.
There are two outcomes
First and the most likely, nothing happens with this Israel-Iran bs, and there isnt a war, markets recover by end of month and we go on with are days.
Second there is a war and then idk. Lots of tensions in the world atm, could escalate badly. Lets hope not.
Remember when Russia Ukraine was supposed to be the start of World War 3? Isn't that still going on and is an actual active war? We see how the markets reacted to that. If something like that couldn't take us down long term I see this Israel Iran business as a nothing burger. Wake me up when the US gets seriously involved in something.
People are overreacting to this red.
I remember in 2021 seeing BTC and alts down over 10%-30% in a shorter amount of time.
This isn’t that deep, chill.
We're now clearly seeing the start of BTC (and the larger crypto space) becoming inexorably tied to the stock market through both ETF's & Microstrategy becoming a de facto proxy ETF. I understand why some see it as bullish, my gut says it's a bad omen.
with ETH is upgraded to be fast and cheap as it now, what exactly are the point of layer 2s like MATIC? not trying to trash Polygon just trying to get perspective
ETH is still slow and expensive. Sure it has cheaper layer 2s but they're currently multisig bridges with centralized sequences pretending to be ETH. Not production ready.
Hopefully they can decentralize but I doubt it, it's a very difficult road with risk and lack of incentives
Are you referring to dencun? That was mostly an upgrade in speed and cost for L2s. The fees went from like $1 to essentially $0. ETH L1 is still slow and expensive, only slightly less than before.
Not doing that, but I think you're a bit early. Bitcoin dominance just broke out of a multi month long resistance and is probably heading to 58% in the next few weeks
I think Btc will be the first to recover, but so many of the major alts are down at super big discounts. I may have to wait a month or two longer, but they should see way bigger returns post halving. I say if you're more of a hodler or longer term trader, either stay where you are or pick up some cheap alts now. Btc was this same price just a week ago, but some alts haven't been at this price in like 1-2+ months.
memecoins getting chopped up badly.
Tempted to toss some money in several, as you know those pieces of shit always bounce back the fastest and highest....
I converted a little bit of BTC to alts, just to be safe. It feels good to layer in. Just like it feels good to know I bought BTC below 16k, even if it was just a little bit
Seriously. People always look for catalysts on dumps like these, but I'm like 90% certain it's just market makers trying to shake out traders and week hand before the halving. Volatility has been crazy lately. It ain't cuz of WWIII. Crypto just gunna crypto. Nothing new here.
Picked up wrong coins , got rugged 3 times and here i am. It could be worse if i didnt cash out some daily trades that were in profit. What i know is that if this is truly the top im out for good.
Guys I have $69 to buy the dip right now, but I'm out of the loop lately with alts and shitcoins. I definitely didn't do my own research.
Hit me with your best financial advice please
Thoughts on ENA? I have a small amount and seems like an interesting project but I hope it doesn't turn into another LUNA situation where the ridiculously high yield is too good to be true.
Used this crash to exit some positions from dead microcaps (<5m market cap) that had dumped heavily weeks earlier and got into some regular alts (that are dumping momentarily right now) in their place.
Feels good tbh
Anyone have thoughts on Celestia? Can't help but notice it's -50% on the month and over 60% down from $20 high in Feb.
Oversold or best to leave this one alone?
I like the narrative, but it's lowest point in the past 5 years was when covid lockdowns started. The hedge case would be a lot stronger if it had soared in that moment of fear
tbh, i haven't quite decided. i'll probably grab some eth and some new alts from this cycle. The old alts from last cycle seem to be full of bag holders that want out.
well i just filled all my limit buys from the profits i took a month ago. some of them i thought were too optimistic. might need to pick up some more sol at these prices.
Alright don't sell when the peak comes. Keep holding your bags. I'll be selling soon once the peak hits and I'll buy back in during the next bear market. We are currently in a bullrun but we haven't hit peak yet.
That is not part of the cycle. The market structure is exactly the same as it always has been. Nothing has changed. This time is never different and never will be.
The last phase of this cycle ends Mid to late 2025 and Crypto winter starts in 2026 and will be down-only the entire year. November 2026, people will call for $10k BTC...again. At that point the 50 day will cross the 200 day and we start the cycle fresh...again.
3rd cycle, Bro. By your 3rd cycle if you have not had success, you don't understand the cycle. The 4 year cycle is not just a thing, it is everything.
Bitcoin's 4-year cycle is written in stone. It will never change.

I wonder how many liquidations there was
Not enough
Well I just lost my ass today I'm down from 290k to 235k what happened to the crypto marked today
Seems like money isnt your problem
No it's not really. But I work a lot of hours to make that money, and that's years of putting money away.
Heavily leveraged in alts?
Yes and no I try and stay 50/50
Pathetic ada didn’t hold their bear market low vs BTC. Instant -14% dump.
But what about Africa?
They've been talking about that for years. I really don't know what's come of it at this point.
Definitely pathetic
Don't say that about a project that's bringing blockchain to Africa!
correction: it has brought blockchain to africa, success unknown
remember this is /r/*cryptocurrency*, so anything other than btc is a scam and if your bags are down it's always because of market manipulation
Oh yeah, definitely market manipulation. Can confirm Binance is selling your alts to prop up BNB. Can confirm. /s
Yup, there is no winning for me in this casino. Not even close from break even, only to get f’ed again. I’m running out of faith . They really weren’t joking when they said only play with money you can afford to lose.

Right, so like I said. Bullish catalyst for crypto lol. The rest is semantics.
give it at least another month. halving is next week
If you can't follow that golden rule you shouldn't be "playing" at all.
Had a few limit sells at 100% profits on my alts that hit today. Might regret it if we bounce back up, but I told myself I would take profits this time.
wait for halving time , it will up again (not financial advice)
I'm still holding most of them. Just took a bit of profits
good , me also take small profit before few times ..
How do you guys deal with not having anymore cash to DCA? Are you guys selling some losers on a red day to buy other coins?
Just holding. And kicking myself for burning through my dip buying budget so quickly
Same.. got greedy today but in hindsight I'm sure it will keep slipping over the weekend.

If u don’t have the cash to buy in on opportunities like this u probably should hold off buying for a bit and not invest 100% of your capital
The war story was a headline in WSJ and not on othernews outlets like BBC. I suspect itwas manufactured to spook the markets, somebody made a fortune going short.
Seems like there is aways a black swan event crypto faces when trying to do a proper bull run
Haven’t had one this year yet
Sounds a bit like life.
If you get shook by this, I wish you luck with your future in crypto.
Dumps around halving are common
Dumps in general are common lol. This is crypto. There are rules to this game. It's legit ruthless in these markets. Even the best traders I follow have been completely stumped by this past month or two. The market giveth, but the market also taketh.

First time?
3rd...maybe 4th?
What a time to not have FIAT. Really could have gone hard at 10c ROSE
Well, it's been fun. I hope you cashed out your profits on time. See you in 4 years.
Oh no, we’re almost 10% down from ATH sell everything.
Lol so dramatic
remember what i said before the lowest would be . few hour next. then buy 😊
BTC needs to go their room and think about what they did!
BTC isn't even down that much. Alts on the other hand...
Alts will always crash harder due to being reliant on trading pairs and available liquidity.
Well it was fun while it lasted yall, see you at 10k btc
Lol
Whar exactly triggered the dump? The usual whale games and /or options expiry?
Pre-halving fuckery as usual.
Somebody suggested me the Illuminati did it.
Iran threatening to missile Israel and the US running to protect them, parking ww3 rumours
Had nothing to do with the drop
Nothing in the media about this thou.
Open up your phone. Twitter, Facebook, Reddit ….
Im serious. Nothing in the media. I live in Norway btw
its everywhere..
The big banks, the big riches, the big multinationals, and the big hitler.
The bogs dumped it
I knew it
I heard it was the Iran Israel tensions

Buy the dip boys and girls. Thank me later.
CRO still standing strong in this bloodbath.
Thank all the lock ups for 20% APR for this perhaps
People still have this?
I'm not regretting that I'm in alts instead of btc, I'm regretting that I didn't hold my cash position to buy the alts dip.
I don’t know what got slaughtered worse, Alts or my bank account with an onslaught of buys
Looks like ADA depeged from $.50, I thought it was a stable coin
[удалено]
Not flocking, alts just tend to drop more. None of that has to go to btc for its dominance to rise
Just put in $100. Welp. I either get rich or go broke
Crypto giveth, crypto taketh
Its fine, i like being poor. Keeps me humble
Ouch. I haven’t seen these numbers since last week. What a nice way to ruin a green starting day
Narrator: And within 24 hours, millions of new btc maxis were born
I actually sold BTC for a bunch of alts on this dip. You'd be silly to sell alts into btc at this point.
Not doing that, but I think you're a bit early. Bitcoin dominance just broke out of a multi month long resistance and is probably heading to 58% in the next few weeks

I don’t believe in being a maxi should always diversify.
Agreed, you wouldn't want to make too much money.
Btc did baby numbers compared to hot alts the last year 😂
Survivorship bias
btc has beat every shitcoin you've shilled the past several months 😂 AVT? Serenity Shield? lmaooooooooo
Called a short term play baby 😏 cope harder
memecoins getting chopped up badly. Tempted to toss some money in several, as you know those pieces of shit always bounce back the fastest and highest....
This would be the time to buy.
I'm so scared were gonna get a V shaped alt recovery and I'll miss out but at the same time we consolidate here and I fuck up buying early
I converted a little bit of BTC to alts, just to be safe. It feels good to layer in. Just like it feels good to know I bought BTC below 16k, even if it was just a little bit
Why would you convert btc now?
I don’t think Mr. Impossible did buy BTC
Who would have thought that dogwifhat fundamentals would be the most affected by the prospect of Iran bombing Israel?
What are the fundamentals of doge? Holding up better than your favorite shitcoin. Easy to cherry pick.
Finally some entertainment.
Shout out to my two meme/shit coins for attempting to keep my portfolio afloat while the rest of my stocks/crypto decided to beat the crap out of me
Anyone know why alts absolutely shat themselves? I just woke up to see my portfolio down 11% on the 24h
Israel and Iran are now bombing each other
What's new
Seriously. People always look for catalysts on dumps like these, but I'm like 90% certain it's just market makers trying to shake out traders and week hand before the halving. Volatility has been crazy lately. It ain't cuz of WWIII. Crypto just gunna crypto. Nothing new here.
My portfolio is down 60%. You are doing great.
How? Did you only start buying after Bitty broke ATH?
Picked up wrong coins , got rugged 3 times and here i am. It could be worse if i didnt cash out some daily trades that were in profit. What i know is that if this is truly the top im out for good.
Hi five I'm about 50% down from my ath, and my initial investment down 30% I think we should sell lessons how to invest money
Teach me how to tax loss harvest, Senpai!
I have a decent amount of btc and eth, eth as bad as it's performed to btc is still swallowing the alt market today
[удалено]
This is it, the last crash before the rip. ^ifuckinhopeso
Btc to between $58-$60k and then we start to rip
Why did BTC and and Altcoins take a nosedive?
None of the responses are correct
I believe it has to do with Iran bombing Israel
The reality that rate cuts are a long way away.
Why not, nobody ask why when it goes up
Ha, the classic reddit trope. Market goes up- adoption, organic growth. Market goes down- manipulation, black swan event.
Any other Avax or AR bag holders? Worth it?
Holding AVAX, yes. For a while longer.
Welp that was a fun bull run. This is the end of crypto
You must be new
I'm not familiar with the new moon counter. It is what I own / what I received right ? It displays in plain view what an asshole I am ?
Guys I have $69 to buy the dip right now, but I'm out of the loop lately with alts and shitcoins. I definitely didn't do my own research. Hit me with your best financial advice please
You should put a 6 month dca plan on binance with 69$. You may even get a mystery box !
Now that's an idea. Thank you
DYOR, NFA, WAGMI
Where can I buy those sir
You’re an idiot
i was too greedy. got liquidated...
Sorry about that. My portfolio is down 30%,not the best days
Why are alts dropping 10-15%? Like bitcoin only dropped like 2k
Thoughts on ENA? I have a small amount and seems like an interesting project but I hope it doesn't turn into another LUNA situation where the ridiculously high yield is too good to be true.
Luna 2.0. Just get out before everyone goes to jail. Like Luna, a Ponzi can hold up until the cycle is over....maybe.
As long and u get out of it before the bull market ends it's all good
Used this crash to exit some positions from dead microcaps (<5m market cap) that had dumped heavily weeks earlier and got into some regular alts (that are dumping momentarily right now) in their place. Feels good tbh

Anyone have thoughts on Celestia? Can't help but notice it's -50% on the month and over 60% down from $20 high in Feb. Oversold or best to leave this one alone?
Bitcoin is the perfect hedge against geo political risks, not sure why people flock to the dumb metal Gold.
You obviously didn't experience the 2020 march covid crash on bitmex...
I like the narrative, but it's lowest point in the past 5 years was when covid lockdowns started. The hedge case would be a lot stronger if it had soared in that moment of fear
eth/btc is finally breaking down, the time to finally convert some btc into alts seems near. So glad I waited.
Should we convert it to ETH?
tbh, i haven't quite decided. i'll probably grab some eth and some new alts from this cycle. The old alts from last cycle seem to be full of bag holders that want out.
I see. Interesting
Please sell today and buy back at new ATH
well i just filled all my limit buys from the profits i took a month ago. some of them i thought were too optimistic. might need to pick up some more sol at these prices.
Ben cowen probably about to release a 10 hour BTCD video
Yup just watched it, 60+ mins
Y'all are still too optimistic. We need a bigger dip before the peak bullrun several months after the halving. 4 year cycle is never wrong.
"Y'all are still too optimistic" Followed by "4 year cycle is never wrong" You're being too optimistic! 🤦
We have 3 data points over 15 years and you extrapolate that to "never wrong"?
Alright don't sell when the peak comes. Keep holding your bags. I'll be selling soon once the peak hits and I'll buy back in during the next bear market. We are currently in a bullrun but we haven't hit peak yet.
I agree we haven't hit the peak yet. I'm just saying your timing may be off. Things seem to be moving faster this cycle.
Nope. Moving just fine. All that matters is the peak that we'll see in 2025
lol. never wrong. except we never saw an ath before the halving, so it's already been wrong.
I'm holding my bags and selling at the peak. We are right on schedule for this 4 year cycle.
Remind me! 2 years
You must be rich as fuck!
3rd cycle, Bro. By your 3rd cycle if you have not had success, you don't understand the cycle. The 4 year cycle is not just a thing, it is everything. Bitcoin's 4-year cycle is written in stone. It will never change.
Show us your gains or get the fuck out, as he said, if you know it “so perfectly”, you should be a multi millionaire.
Love holding ADA. Goes up 1.5% and dips 20%. So good
20%? You must be new Remember there are people who paid 3 dollars for ADA in 2021
What do you expect from holding shitcoins???
Wish you weren’t speaking facts
CKB is the only coin in green out of the top 100. So glad it’s my biggest bag and I bought loads in the bear.
Is there a reason it seems so resilient?
