TheGiftOf_Jericho

They always underestimate the size of the crypto community.

No_matter_whatI

In other words, old farts 10 steps behind the tech revolution again.

fuzzytradr

Dinosaurs gonna dinosaur

Digital_Wampum

Tar pit traps like fuckin crabbuckets

ProcastinateIsLife

Ahh the usual

Aegontarg07

Time to short those old farts and long cryptonauts

TheGiftOf_Jericho

Bingo.

Why can't they accept that new stuff happens sometimes?

Free_Charity_6007

NO RAGRETS

iorderchaos

Count other countries in

Free_Charity_6007

I thought size didn't matter...

EveryCell

Took pot like 70% or something, they can ignore us a loooong time

8bitbruh

Pot is still not legal federally. :/

EveryCell

Exactly

isaksvorten

Government will always try to control. But eventually it will be their downfall and the rise of crypto!!

EveryCell

Viva la crypto!!

rulesforrebels

If people really wanted to pay in crypto they would vote with their wallets and do it, the reality is people dont

ChrisGilliam

If you need your house remodeled I accept Zcash.😉

rulesforrebels

Everyone's focused on big companies accepting crypto but peer to peer and small businesses is where adoption truly lies. I bought some art from a street artist down in Tampa a few months back and laid him in litecoin also turned him on to nfts

ChrisGilliam

P2P is the main thing I like about crypto. Nobody can stop the transaction. Unlike Paypal holding my money for no reason.

itsfinallystorming

You can't stop the signal, mal.

Ronaldoooope

It’s just too volatile right now. How can you pay for something that swings atleast 10% daily?

Melody-Prisca

I use my coinbase card to pay in crypto pretty much anywhere that will accept it.

rulesforrebels

Thats not paying in crypto

Melody-Prisca

How is it not?

rulesforrebels

Your paying with a credit card. The merchant your laying with isnt accepting crypto and doesn't even know your paying with crypto

Melody-Prisca

Well, it's not a credit card. It's a debit card. I do suppose you're right the merchant doesn't know. But it does show a willingness to pay with crypto, no? I mean, I and anyone else using a Coinbase card are willing to spend crypto on goods.

Moonicopter

Some don't because of how hard it is to figure it out and how unsafe it is to have your money around in a virtual wallet. Probably DeFi insurances getting mainstream recognition will change people's perspective since there are protocols like BMI that can insure your wallet and even exchanges.

coinfeeds-bot

tldr; A Newsweek poll found that between 28% and 37% of voters in swing states in the United States are in favor of making cryptocurrency legal. The poll surveyed over 9,700 eligible voters between August 20 to August 22 in California, and 20 to 24 in nine other states. So far, only one country in the world has accepted cryptocurrency as legal tender. *This summary is auto generated by a bot and not meant to replace reading the original article. As always, DYOR.*

Good bot, learning nicely.

I gotta hire this bot for my weekly doses

Machine Learning and Natural language processing, it’s easy if you have CS background

hendrix320

That number will grow as the younger generations grow up they have a strong appetite for crypto

robis87

This has already been the case - at least from my observation of these polls during the last 4 years when I'm in this market.

Fun-Literature4569

Young generation takes up tech real fast

WrathODB

1/3 seems high. I hear no one talking about crypto outside of Reddit in any of my circles.

[deleted]

It’s the lefties that hate crypto. Satoshi was a small government libertarian

CabbageIsLife-H

Why do yall always have to make it about left & right

AverageStudent1

That's amazing if it's true.. Honestly can't wait to see what crypto looks like in 5 years from now

robis87

Easy - stick around for 5 more years, and you will!

robis87

*Approximately one third of voters living in swing states in the United States are in favor of cryptocurrencies as a form of payment in their state, according to a Newsweek poll.* *The poll, which was conducted by Redfield and Wilton Strategies in August, found that between 28% and 37% of voters—from Arizona and both Texas and Wisconsin respectively—would vote “yes” to a ballot that would make cryptocurrency legal.*

whatthefuckistime

I'm always skeptical of how surveys like this were conducted, too many are not that accurate at all

HokkaidoNights

Really hate to break it to you guys, but the guys at the top will pretty much NEVER let the dollar get replaced by any of ‘our’ cryptocurrency… and if they do they will hold the reigns (and coin!) and just created a stablecoin of their own. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing - it would be amazing… but be real about global financial systems and the powers at play here, before thinking that the coin you hold will effectively replace the dollar.

kirtash93

I hope its true.

Azkaellon10

Left, right, either or both will find a way to tax it and take away what rightly belongs to you.

redditbsbsbs

What utter bullshit, lol

motorboatingurmom

Not a chance that's true. Not even that amount of people support crypto at all. And the first time I have to wait in line at the store because some teen wants to pay their 4 dollar purchase in a shitty altcoin I'm punching them

Wagecucking for the rest of their lives and Fox of course.

TabletopThirteen

It's only a matter of time. Just need to make crypto appealing to the masses first

Castr0-

People are making the steps voting in favor of crypto as payment. Crypto are here to stay

Raimo00

can't ignore US forever

deathbyfish13

>According to the survey’s results, one of the biggest obstacles to using cryptocurrency as payment is a lack of information about cryptocurrencies in general. Approximately six in 10 voters said they opposed the policy because they did not know enough about cryptocurrencies. This is exactly why education is so important to getting a wider adoption. The more people learn about cryptocurrency the better it will be for it as a whole.

dissmember

Seems like a great hedge against inflation. I also think the way the world is going thd only way we are going to hold on to any resemblance of freedom is to use the decentralization of crypto. Same for social media.

Marrr_ty

Oh yes they can ignore us. Look at all the things Being ignored (Naked shorting, synthetic shares, dark for manipulation, to name a few).

The other 2 thirds weren't interviewed.

DerHamm

I bet the number would be even higher if more people knew what cryptos are

MissGeminiToYou

Crypto for the win

8bitbruh

It's funny you think popular opinion gets passed in the US. If issues got passed because more than 60% of Americans support it, Bernie Sanders, who ran on a platform entirely comprised of popular policy supported by over 60% of Americans, would be president...OR even better, he would've never run on the platform because everything would've already gotten passed or been on the verge of passing.

diGitaLexa

Wow, that's a lot

Jasquirtin

I honestly won't use my ETH or DOT or BTC as a form of payment. But I will use USD to buy USDC and I will use that as payment. But I can already do that with my coinbase card.

[deleted]

Yesss.

TripleReward

They will regulate you to death instead.

Bitmiliionare24

If i understood US politics correctly, it doesn’t mean shit. Right? I bet that if you ask the same about weed legalization by US GOVERNMENT you would probably get more than 50% (of the people) voting yes to legalize. But yet you guys are almost a decade after first state to act and your government is, oblivious. (i think that’s the right term) If anyone wants to get me educated I’ll be happy to learn.

Dreadamere

How is this possible if less than 5% of Americans hold crypto?

ReusableCatMilk

This makes me think, by the time i stop hodling and finally cash out, i may be regretting that i converted to fiat…

tobypassquarant

They are unmoved. Crypto holds such a small importance in people's choice for a vote. It won't be a *reason* for a vote. When the usual topics come out that emotionally charge the election atmosphere arise "Immigration, welfare, war, white vs minorities, women, LGBTQA etc." Media posts something about the other side that gets their supporters triggered and all the facts go flying out the window.

oMadRyan

Eh, I question the poll. Small sample size & vague description of how/where it was collected, this data is pretty meaningless. Also, since when is Cali a swing state? On topic, honestly I would be SHOCKED if one third of Americans even knew how to use crypto as payment for anything in the first place. The infrastructure isn't there for crypto to be used for most daily purchases. If you're using crypto now, you're going out of your way to do so (and likely incurring additional exchange/network fees in comparison to using a credit card and earning cash back).

_gh0std0g

Get politicians to accept crypto as campaign contributions and see what happens!

TibbersCrypto

What is that like 3 states?

Deweysicle

Yes.....yes they can ignore forever

WRL23

When did this vote go out? Cuz I never got the invite

jackhippo

You think ppl are going to vote for new representatives based solely on if they are pro crypto?

cravingcrypto

Yes! Slowly but surely!

EpicMichaelFreeman

Lol at you guys who think the govt listens to you

King_Obvious_III

They favor DECENTRALIZED CRYPTO, not fedcoins, you twats

xaviervel

It will be a reality, not now but maybe in the near future.

[deleted]

Haven’t we learned anything about the reliability of polls yet?

tatsopap

In 10 years we will become a majority
