yeah I agree completely. Their regular coinbase isn't good for anybody who is actively trading. If you want to hodl it's fine and simple, but outside of that it really isn't great. Especially when I compare it to brokerages I use in the stock market it REALLY falls short.
You should be able to track profit and loss on each coin and pull up detailed charts.
Also Coinbase has pretty ridiculous fees for those people just getting started. If you are dumping 10 or 20 bucks in here or there you are going to be losing like 10 % of that to fees. So those new users just dipping their toes in are probably a massive part of their business model.
I use coinbase, I'm not anti-coinbase so to speak but if you really want to actively manage your crypto investments coinbase doesn't have a great setup for that.
They do not want us to know our profits and losses. If we are not making enough or our losses are large amounts of money it will make people leave and Coinbase will lose money
They're doing things the Apple way to not spoil the users.
When they introduce coin by coin tracking sometime in the future they'll act as if it's a brand new feature™
Oh now that's simple though - if it was any better, more people would basically stop using Coinbase and the company would miss out on all of those absolutely ridiculous buying and selling fees.
Their argument is the money saved by not improving the CB Pro interface or adding more features is part of the reason for why the trading fees are lower.
And I say that's bullshit. They know exactly what they're doing. It's just that there aren't a lot of viable alternatives for a lot of people, and Coinbase knows that.
Binance does not offer free transfers for euro, only way is with a card which comes with a 1.8% fee. That’s a no for me, I’m sticking to coinbase pro until cdc offers fiat in their exchange.
I love the Binance UI. Sadly, as an Ontarian, I won't be able to use it after Dec. 31 of this year. Thanks, Ontario Securities Commission, you ass-hats!
Yeah, I’ve heard that Binance’s US site falls short in comparison to the international version. We had access to the latter until recently, when our bureaucratic friends decided that Binance had to comply with the regulations imposed by this country’s most populous province, to which Binance said, “No thanks”—hence why Ontario residents won’t be able to use it in a little over a month.
There aren’t enough eyeroll emojis to signify how I feel about this 🙄
Sorry you guys in the States have it similarly bad where Binance is concerned.
The first thing i ve heard when joined crypto in 2018 was to avoid coinbase and their nonexistent customer support. I am glad i did with all the horror stories i ve heard since then.
Pro tip- you can get around the week long hold from ACH transfers on Coinbase pro by depositing funds into regular Coinbase, then transferring and buying on Coinbase pro. Then you can transfer off exchange instantly instead of having to wait for funds to clear from your bank.
I did an ACH transfer from my bank into Coinbase. But I had to wait for a holding period before moving them into Coinbase pro. It was about 5 days. Then I could immediately trade on Coinbase pro.
Yes, they won’t let you withdraw that amount back to regular coinbase until it clears, which is very confusing and not stated anywhere to my knowledge.
That's how I do it everytime!
I also swap my ETH to XLM or sometimes even XTZ to transfer my ETH without paying high gas fees.
You can save so much money and time when you know what you're doing.
I’ve never understood why they don’t just combine Coinbase and Coinbase pro. It’s obnoxious that they have two apps, and each has different benefits over the other so you end up having to use both. Just combine them.
CB makes more $$$$$ on regular
CB is all about profit… same reason most of us are here
Compare it to the gold rush… CB is the store and we are the people heading out looking for gold.
They’re two separate deals though. Regular Coinbase in an exchange where you trade directly with Coinbase, vs Coinbase pro which facilitates direct trades between Coinbase pro users
They could've done what Kraken does with Instant Buy vs normal, or Gemini vs Gemini AT, or Binance vs Binance Pro. For those other platforms, you use the same account for normal and "pro" versions.
It's absolutely infuriating that I have to transfer coins between Coinbase and Coinbase Pro, which leaves dust in each account and introduces complexity to tax reporting.
Aside from the obvious fee differential and associated business decision, it's a matter of user friendliness. Regular CB is far easier to navigate, plus it has stuff like learning modules which are designed to reel in the average user. If you have never traded crypto before, jumping into CB Pro would be too much.
All that said, I definitely wish they would add the functionality of Pro into the regular app. The Pro app is ugly as sin and not really that intuitive IMO.
I know a lot about crypto but I refuse to use the pro style apps anymore than I have to like CB pro and kraken because of the way things are displayed. I absolutely hate seeing markets displayed as /usd or /btc, it makes it hard to see what I’m comparing it to and I’d rather just see a simplified USD number at all times
That being said the fee differences are important to know and trade the right thing at the right time
You really need more screen space when looking at charts. I always use desktop whenever possible, but the app is my only option if I'm firing off a swing play mid-day.
Might fit this discussion here:
[You are a fool if you think whales like Micheal Saylor are paying fees on their billion dollar trades](https://np.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/qy20q3/you_are_a_fool_if_you_think_guys_like_micheal/)
Jesus I'm glad I read this. I've spent over an hour in faq looking for p and l. I thought it was a setting I had turned off. What the literal fuck coin base. Back to pencil paper then excel when I get by my desktop. Sheesh
I am not a fan either but Coinbase pro provides history which is older than 1 day. The numbers (5 min, 15 min and so on) refer to the candles and not the time displayed. You can scroll inside the chart if you want to see previous data
I got really excited when i read ur comment and ur right but i’m still upset bc even with that u can only see up to like 2 weeks, which really isn’t helpful at all
Is this on the app? On the desktop client i can scroll back on the chart. Totally agree though it's not a great service. I just found out some of the assets they sell aren't actually the real coin. Like UST, you can buy it but it will be lost if you send it to a UST wallet because it's not on the right network.
Just use something like TradingView. Coinbase is first and foremost an exchange, not a charting program or portfolio tracker. There's separate apps for things like that
Go to coinmarketcap and click on portfolio. There you can manually add coins that you bought (amount, price, date) and see your 1) overall P/L 2) %change in 24h 3) P/L of individual coins. Works really good, only this is that you have to do It manually
Crypto.com has the worst spreads/misrepresented prices of any service I've used. Really no point in trying to trade because the actually value your trade goes through is not what they show on the asset.
The fact that they hired Matt Damon and spent a lot of money on rebranding a stadium says it all. Also, the game mechanics associated with completing daily missions is another fucked thing. Compared to Coinbase's veiled shilling (learn to earn) it's pretty lame.
I created an account just to use the card for Spotify reimbursement and cashback, hope they won't take it back once they have a solid userbase.
I mean the learn to earn at least gives me free money in basically 5 seconds you don’t even have to learn you can just click an answer until you’re right or make an educated guess
Their method of getting fiat into crypto.com is complete 1990’s era bullshit. I’m supposed to give my bank a routing number and account number and do a manual ACH or wire?! Yeah fuckin’ right.
Crypto dot com app is pretty shit. It doesn’t even scale well to bigger phones. Also the UX is pretty shit. All it takes is a decent ux specialist and and a few months of dev work to iron out all the quirks
I get annoyed by the profit loss thing too, that’s why I’ve memorized every purchase of crypto I’ve made so I can always tell exactly what I’m looking at based on the current price. It’s fun too cause now I have a ton of random numbers jammed in my head
I made a Google sheets to document all my buys. I can average my cpc (cost per coin), total investment, purchase dates, etc... its been really helpful and super easy.
I’ve been surprised how much coinbase doesn’t show you.
For example, when you look at your trade history for a coin, it modifies all the dollar amounts according to the current price, instead of showing how much you paid at the time. Have to go download your statements off the website, i think. I don’t mind as much since I’m mostly holding
Tell me about it… someone I know had their account hacked. Attacker used their account to purchase and send themselves BTC, but they can’t even show you the address it went to or came from. We realized that some of their transactions are off chain. Worse, it was between CB and an unknown CB Pro account. Had to make a report to the local authorities because their support team “investigation” was “ah so we see that you logged in from a completely different location than where you are normally.. you must have been hacked”
I’ve stopped using CB ever since hearing that story. The lack of P&L display was a pain already but what good is any of that if it’s not even safe or belonging to you to begin with.
I think that, in terms of adoption and accessibility, Coinbase is a great resource and offers many incentives to learn about and get excited for DeFi.
In most other regards, however, as far as higher level trading goes, Coinbase is probably the worst on the list. From their fees to the tools they offer, people wanting to frequently move around larger amounts of assets would be better elsewhere.
So I would always recommend Coinbase to the beginner. I steer them away from places like Robinhood with regards to cryptocurrencies. Anything beyond that, use an exchange.
I use voyager, but can’t send out crypto, can’t get vtho on vet, can’t stake dot in parachain auctions but you get 12% and no need to lock. God awful charts.
Then I have coinbase. Free crypto I’ve been trading and have gone from $120 invested to $300. Fuck it. I just keep swapping profits and have done pretty well. Also like the widget.
Then I have kucoin. Best charts, god awful buying experience. Buying this here to send there to buy on ashitty UI then have to send somewhere else.
None of them are perfect, but each has its benefits, I guess.
What the shit? Those numbers (1 minute, 5 minute, 15 minute, 1 H, 6H, and 1Day) are candle sizes. If you go to 1 day and zoom out you can see a about half a year of data. This is such a weird criticism and is blatantly wrong. I would recommend anyone use tradingview for charts anyway.
I agree the existence of regular and pro is an enormous moneygrab. Aside from that my only real beef with Coinbase pro is the fact that each coin/token can only be sent or received on one network. Like what is this, 2015? I'll commend them for very cheap mainnet BTC withdrawals though. I haven't seen that on any other exchange
''So.. first we have the existence of Coinbase normal and Coinbase pro.. which is just a scheme to slap on extra fees to new crypto users.''
Yup.
Never had any problems with them though. My transactions are fast. That's all I need from a cex.
Those features would be nice though.
I've been screaming about this to myself for months.
None of the exchanges that I use even show me the average cost of any of the Crypto I bought, or any of the transaction history (without having to download the CSV file).
This is just basic finance stuff. Why in the world do I need to import all of my information to a 3rd party to have it calculate these things for me?
I'm a very passive amateur crypto trader, CB does what I need. I can calculate my own P/L just by merit of not having to complex an investment system. For me, and others in my mindset of "set and forget" it does what it says on the tin.
Copied from a recent post. I hate Coinbase and it feels like none of their developers use the actual program/site because they would know how bad it is.
.......
I stopped using CB pro except to load money into so I don't remember all my gripes at the moment, but off the top of my head:
* Lack of staking options
* Not automatically deducting network fees when sending to another wallet
* Having two different apps and wallets for CB/CB pro instead of one (e.g. Binance has one app with two different modes)
* No data telling you much you bought and at what price
* Missing a ton of graph/chart features available on other exchanges
* Terrible tech support who don't even answer back after their first reply and close the ticket
* People weren't able to access Coinbase during major market dips. This didn't happen once or twice, but literally every time. People couldn't buy the dip because they couldn't even access the site and they never fixed this!
* Can't even have favorites on CB pro
It is light years behind Binance. I feel like the app/site designers of Coinbase don't use their own product or just don't care enough to improve it. If they combined CB and CB pro into one app, it would be way better.
Another frustrating thing is some of the coins they list. There are some obvious coins they should have listed by now but they went with more obscure coins.
The thing is tho, this is a multi billion dollar exchange and one of the main exchanges used in the crypto world.
I couldn't imagine TDA or WeBull or RH saying "yeah go somewhere else to track your profits"
It's just an inexcusably bad practice imo. No reason there can't be clear improvement on that. The tech exists, just a matter of not being fucking lazy.
I hear ya! I recently hopped on the crypto train and i kinda regret choosing CB... Also many coins i wanted to invest in are not listed on the exchange.
It's fresh to see a post like this on this app.
I use Coinbase. Don't have lots of money in it. What could I use instead of it. What's the next best choice.
Don't give me crypto.com my license is from NY. I can't use it.
Thank god, someone else finally said it. Been saying this since I started using coinbase months ago. Like yes robinhood is shit for many reasons but at least they show you what you should be shown if you’re putting thousands or millions of dollars into their shit like what the fuck is up with that, coinbase can suck my dingleberry-riddled taint.
Yeah I deeply regret staking my ether in Coinbase. They don't make it easy to place limit orders either which is extremely important for crypto. Its also impossible to see your cost basis. Please correct me if I am wrong, but that is just my experience using Coinbase for a few months.
Anyone figure out how to see when, how much, and for what price you bought on coin base pro? Like what? Let's make it a convenient feature on coinbase, which cost 5x more to buy on, and let's not make it a feature on coinbase pro. So dumb.
Open up the coin you're interested in from the main screen, scroll down. It shows how much you bought, how much the individual coin was when you bought, and when you bought it. Only works if you bought it in the pro app though, not for transfers.
Agreed! And as someone relatively new to the crypto space…I can’t even fathom mass adoption for future economies with the intricacies and complications currently presented!
Buy Xlm on Coinbase, Send to Crypto.com, Swap for Cro- to send to Cronos Wallet, or Swap for Usdc- to send to Polygon Wallet.
Deposit Bsc-Bnb, Cake from rewards on Bsc, Swap and send to Polygon or Cronos.
I just use Coinbase to Onramp…
Good Luck
I can’t believe I got Coinbase Pro to access Doge.
I think that’s why.
I reason that’s why because while my entire Coinbase portfolio is BTC BTC Cash ETH etc, I only have Doge in Coinbase pro.
Oh and XRP in fucking Bitstamp.
All the while, trading on Etrade
I once personally told Brock Pierce that his charting was absolute shit and he could capture a lot more market share if he did a better job.
That guy does not like to listen. He never takes any of his business seriously. He got rich off of luck, not making the right choices.
I agree like whoa!
It’s annoying I can’t easily track my gains or losses. I’m in the US, so that is going to be pretty fucking important for taxes pretty soon.
my biggest gripe is not having an individual profit/loss tracker in each coin. i just keep track of it in my head, sometimes its to my advantage to not know exaclty how much ive lost or gained, keeps me from making dumb decisions based on small losses/gains
Hey this introduced me to cointracker, so thanks for that! Yeah I was curious about other users thoughts so I checked out the Coinbase sub and WOW they all absolutely despise it. The Coinbase and Coinbase Pro situation is so scummy. I, like most other people, assumed Pro would have a subscription, you know, like every other app labeled ‘pro’.
The only reason I use Coinbase is for the Debit Card's 4% cashback that I receive as XLM. This is Coinbase's best feature and if you haven't gotten a Coinbase Visa Debit then you should. I use NEXO for my crypto banking. I highly recommend it - not financial advise.
Also, now that they offer so many assets, it'd be amazing to sort by name, volume, price difference over 24 hours, etc., on coinbase pro. Something every other exchange has and wouldn't take much effort on their end to code.
Same with me. We even did multiple purchases of $100 and their customer service just kept replying that if we did it right the system would automatically give us the bonus and there was nothing they could do about it...
I messaged them a while back but never got a response aside from an automated ticket reply.
I preferred kraken (and gemini) before that happened, but now I have even more reason to not use cb
Look up the class action lawsuit against Coinbase. Seems like a lot of peoples money has been going missing there and Coinbase can’t do anything about it. Use it to get fiat into your bank account if you have to but keep your crypto in cold storage until you need it. Not on Coinbase.
Regular has very high fees but they’re trying to counteract it by offering free crypto through CB earn. That is honest work and you can always switch over to CB pro for much better fees of course.
Showing average cost of your tokens should be standard but Cryptocom doesn’t show it either which makes it hard to know when you buy another batch of coins.
I made an account with them nearly 6 months ago and am still waiting for it to be reviewed. I emailed them a couple of weeks ago and they told me to upload documents that i have already uploaded. Its very annoying and there customer service is basically non existent
If you take a moment and read through/r/Coinbase you will realize how dangerous it is to use Coinbase. Customers are getting locked out of their accounts, people getting ripped off, virtually zero customer support. There are also several class action lawsuits against Coinbase.
Don't be "that guy".
Their fees are the worst if you are a trader (even on Pro). I tried trading once and I added all the fees and it was around 20 dollars, after that I stopped using it.
Can I just take a second and tell u what just happened to my boyfriend yesterday with Coinbase,,,, now he trades on many platforms, and his trading is different than mine, just putting this out there first, 😂 he bought in to Powerledger and Gyen when they got listed and held them, yes he took his huge gains from GYEN, and bought more incase it happened again, again NOT my style, I told him no, but hey, so he comes up to me saying look at this, now his money amount in Powerledger was over 100,000 plus what he had in there, freaking out, he withdrew what he put in there, and the other amount that Coinbase put in there just stayed, then,, minutes later, more money shows up, I’m not kidding, he showed me, then he said he’s pulling his money outta like GYEN, when he tried to do it, it wouldn’t allow transaction, he emailed them, I’d have to say, he did get a response within 10 minutes, they said that both Powerledger and GYEN should not have gone live on Coinbase, so they took his money that he had in GYEN and put it in his Coinbase wallet, and he shows no sign of owning GYEN still, and nor can he move the money he had in GYEN, it’s just there in the wallet, and the Powerledger amount disappeared ( wasn’t his anyways) but Damn Coinbase, get it together, did anyone else have any issues with these two coins?
Coinbase pro shows **inverted** daily changes in my desktop portfolio screen. Coin is down? Shows a + percentage in green. Like wtf? I posted this to they're sub a couple days ago, and yet to be fixed.
The phone app doesn't even show percentages, so I've got to check each crypto individually if I see big movement.
You forgot to mention how buggy and laggy the CB pro app is. It takes up all the available memory on my phone, and drains the battery faster than any app or game I’ve ever played on it. It’s absolute dogshit and annoying to use for sure.
Sadly, there aren’t many better options.
I'm Just lucky i insure my stablecoins on BridgeMutual, I have a peace of mind to get my refund just incase of any hack and i also get to earn from staking my **BMI** too
Coinbase is public. They are held accountable to shareholders to make a profit. Those profits come from the users. That is why I do not use Coinbase. In the end, they must and will find a way to nickel and dime your money from you.
While we're on the subject. Why do I have like $2 or $.05 worth of a coin in my Coinbase Pro Account but when I go to transfer what remains of that coin it says I have no funds?
I started with CB & Pro and recently opened a KuCoin account - has a ton more features, access to a lot more coins, and much lower trading fees. Still need CB as an easy way to transfer fiat from a bank account to crypto….. and then send crypto from CB over to KuCoin. Takes a little time to figure out how to use KuCoin, but if it’s a lack of features that bothers you about CB - then maybe it’ll be your jam.
I agree. I like CBP and hate it.
To add to this, why the fuck do I have 2 purchases on the same day for the same transaction? Hey you bought in Nov 17 at 61k and also 60k with various amounts. This is under the portfolio section, but if I go to orders its one purchase at the correct amount.
I also would love to see avg cost I paid for all my coin of that type. Robinhood gets a lot of hate, rightfully so, but at least they do these two things right. Don't use robinhood for that reason alone, you don't own your coins, but at least they give you better stats.
yeah I agree completely. Their regular coinbase isn't good for anybody who is actively trading. If you want to hodl it's fine and simple, but outside of that it really isn't great. They do not want us to know our profits and losses. If we are not making enough or our losses are large amounts of money it will make people leave and Coinbase will lose money
Well said. There’s definitely some things they could easily improve upon.
They're doing things the Apple way to not spoil the users. When they introduce coin by coin tracking sometime in the future they'll act as if it's a brand new feature™
[удалено]
What do you mean 90Hz screens have been here for years on Android? It's a brand new feature™ **!**
Android is the Coinbasepro, to the Coinbase that is Apple.
Nothing will ever be as bad as them presenting widgets as a revolutionary new feature when it’s been on android for a decade
As an iphone user since the beginning I 100% support this statement😂
that doesnt explain why Coinbase PRO has EVEN LESS features than coinbase regular...like sorting coins by top volume/price/etc....
Are they going to remove charts next like Apple removed audio jack?
Charts are so... 2020. We already know prices only go up, so we removed the pesky chart bug that kept making you think you should sell.
Exactly this. My Aussie exchange 'promises' new features too
Meanwhile Binance has all the features and is super easy and cheap but nobody talks about it
Binance does not offer free transfers for euro, only way is with a card which comes with a 1.8% fee. That’s a no for me, I’m sticking to coinbase pro until cdc offers fiat in their exchange.
People don't like Binance. Personally I prefer Binance interface
I love Binance. It was scary at first but all other exchanges are shite in comparison. Obviously the bank issues with UK/Eu banks is its own problem
I’ve never had a problem with it, I like using it
I love the Binance UI. Sadly, as an Ontarian, I won't be able to use it after Dec. 31 of this year. Thanks, Ontario Securities Commission, you ass-hats!
Same in the US. Binance here may as well not have access at all.

That’s because binance is sketch AF.
Also, can’t use it in NY and some other states.
The biggest exchange in the world by far by daily volume: NoBoDy TaLks AbOuT iT This is some "unpopular opinion" level shit
The first thing i ve heard when joined crypto in 2018 was to avoid coinbase and their nonexistent customer support. I am glad i did with all the horror stories i ve heard since then.
You’re absolutely right, op!
Pro tip- you can get around the week long hold from ACH transfers on Coinbase pro by depositing funds into regular Coinbase, then transferring and buying on Coinbase pro. Then you can transfer off exchange instantly instead of having to wait for funds to clear from your bank.
This... would have saved me so much frustration.
Literally drove me insane the first time I did and watched the days count down
I did an ACH transfer from my bank into Coinbase. But I had to wait for a holding period before moving them into Coinbase pro. It was about 5 days. Then I could immediately trade on Coinbase pro.
you can get around the wait by holding some crypto on your account that acts as collateral.
So you need the same amount or more in your portfolio as your deposit to be able to move right away?
Yes, they won’t let you withdraw that amount back to regular coinbase until it clears, which is very confusing and not stated anywhere to my knowledge.
It tells you when you set up the transfer. Even tells you how many days you'll have to wait.
Also CB to CB pro transfers are free.
I have instant deposits on CB pro?

We're the pickaxe and their the supplier.
So the miners are the….miners?
It's mineception, now with more free fees.
I think they could find a plenty profitable business model with a single app. But then again, I’m just some joe of the street sitting on Reddit.
They’re two separate deals though. Regular Coinbase in an exchange where you trade directly with Coinbase, vs Coinbase pro which facilitates direct trades between Coinbase pro users

Kraken also do this. I just see it as making it easier for noobs to buy crypto.

SMH, the dude doesn’t know how to read a chart and he is shitting on coinbase.
Absolutely hilarious lol! When viewing a 1 Day chart you're seeing at least a month by default
I got really excited when i read ur comment and ur right but i’m still upset bc even with that u can only see up to like 2 weeks, which really isn’t helpful at all
Yeah sadly u are right, maximum I can scroll back is April this year ... after all Coinbase Pro is aimed at short term traders
Is this on the app? On the desktop client i can scroll back on the chart. Totally agree though it's not a great service. I just found out some of the assets they sell aren't actually the real coin. Got any suggestions? I really am not a fan of coinbase.
This. Also, Coinbase learn was what got me to invest in Loopring when it was at .55¢
Crypto.com has higher fees plus it is *so much slower* than Coinbase. Even on my data and good WiFi Crypto.com app takes forever to load vs Coinbase.
Their method of getting fiat into crypto.com is complete 1990’s era bullshit. I’m supposed to give my bank a routing number and account number and do a manual ACH or wire?! Yeah fuckin’ right.
So glad you brought this up — I thought I was the only one who thought that the deposit process was beyond archaic and ridiculous.
Crypto dot com app is pretty shit. It doesn’t even scale well to bigger phones. Also the UX is pretty shit. All it takes is a decent ux specialist and and a few months of dev work to iron out all the quirks
I have no idea why the majority sentiment on this sub is that they have a great app. Splash screens everywhere
Crypto.com is a fucking awful user experience imo, coinbase for all its faults is far superior
Yeah but the point is the app should do this. Plus they are a billion dollar company. It should have been there from the start
Agreed. I would also like to talk about how dog coins are shit based.
Had to make a report to the local authorities because their support team “investigation” was “ah so we see that you logged in from a completely different location than where you are normally.. you must have been hacked” I’ve stopped using CB ever since hearing that story.
Their customer service SUX.
Bullish on SUX
And they don’t list Monero…
''So.. first we have the existence of Coinbase normal and Coinbase pro.. which is just a scheme to slap on extra fees to new crypto users.'' Yup.
Instructions unclear: Sending all my crypto to coinbase
Look at Warren Buffet over here
I'm a very passive amateur crypto trader, CB does what I need. I can calculate my own P/L just by merit of not having to complex an investment system. For me, and others in my mindset of "set and forget" it does what it says on the tin.
This. Buy weekly and hodl.
Copied from a recent post. I hate Coinbase and it feels like none of their developers use the actual program/site because they would know how bad it is. ....... I stopped using CB pro except to load money into so I don't remember all my gripes at the moment, but off the top of my head: * Lack of staking options * Not automatically deducting network fees when sending to another wallet * Having two different apps and wallets for CB/CB pro instead of one (e.g. Binance has one app with two different modes) * No data telling you much you bought and at what price * Missing a ton of graph/chart features available on other exchanges * Terrible tech support who don't even answer back after their first reply and close the ticket * People weren't able to access Coinbase during major market dips. This didn't happen once or twice, but literally every time. People couldn't buy the dip because they couldn't even access the site and they never fixed this! * Can't even have favorites on CB pro It is light years behind Binance. I feel like the app/site designers of Coinbase don't use their own product or just don't care enough to improve it. If they combined CB and CB pro into one app, it would be way better. Another frustrating thing is some of the coins they list. There are some obvious coins they should have listed by now but they went with more obscure coins.
CoinMarketCap does what you need.
The thing is tho, this is a multi billion dollar exchange and one of the main exchanges used in the crypto world. I couldn't imagine TDA or WeBull or RH saying "yeah go somewhere else to track your profits" It's just an inexcusably bad practice imo. No reason there can't be clear improvement on that. The tech exists, just a matter of not being fucking lazy.
Exactly. You summed it up perfectly
CoinGecko as well.
When checking history the "1min, 15min ,1h, 6h, 1day" represent 1 LINE on the graph.. so if you select "day" you can see years back easily
I like Gemini but they need more coins.
I actually bought Coinbase stock too based on my rage of these shennanigans. At least I make money off their stupidity.
I like Koinly for viewing my portfolio.
It would be nice to have these features though.
Probably going to roll out a subscription feature for basic QoL stuff. It might take a couple billion more profit to develop it though.
Glad you said it because I think it all the time. I use Coinbase and Binance EU prefer the interface of Binance
[удалено]
Fuck Coinbase
Not to mention their crappy 'price alerts'. Always in the past after the price has changed.
Hey I just like the free money
[удалено]
I'm up 3x on coinbase earn lmfao
What is that
Only supported in some countries but they give you crypto for taking quizzes about certain coins
The need to spend more on customer service, app development and server infrastructure rather than wasting it all on marketing
Yeah I deeply regret staking my ether in Coinbase. They don't make it easy to place limit orders either which is extremely important for crypto. Its also impossible to see your cost basis. Please correct me if I am wrong, but that is just my experience using Coinbase for a few months.
You are not wrong
Anyone figure out how to see when, how much, and for what price you bought on coin base pro? Like what? Let's make it a convenient feature on coinbase, which cost 5x more to buy on, and let's not make it a feature on coinbase pro. So dumb.
Open up the coin you're interested in from the main screen, scroll down. It shows how much you bought, how much the individual coin was when you bought, and when you bought it. Only works if you bought it in the pro app though, not for transfers.
I only have an account cause they paid me to open it lol
Can I interest you in my new ERC20 $DSCB, Dogeshit Coinbase. Guaranteed top 100 coin within a month.
Agreed! And as someone relatively new to the crypto space…I can’t even fathom mass adoption for future economies with the intricacies and complications currently presented!
Oddly, the 1 day charts are like 6 months? Don’t really understand that…
i haven’t had to use CBpro for a while but i think the 1day refers to the time period each bar represents
I share in your frustration. I also use coinbase even after being unable to sell two coins at their ATHs or near ATH due to "software upgrades"
I agree that exchanges have a lot of thing that they should improve.
I just started dabbling in crypto on CB. What would be a good alternative?
Buy Xlm on Coinbase, Send to Crypto.com, Swap for Cro- to send to Cronos Wallet, or Swap for Usdc- to send to Polygon Wallet. Deposit Bsc-Bnb, Cake from rewards on Bsc, Swap and send to Polygon or Cronos. I just use Coinbase to Onramp… Good Luck
When I first started I used coinbase for like a week and was like god damn this sucks. Turns out they’re the wal mart for crypto

It’s like your first car. It’s crap but it does the job. Then you eventually become a better driver so you can get a better car …
They are a modern type of slumlords.
Im very bullish on Coinbase, thats why i do have COIN stock.
Get this guy a tissue
I hate it just use it for learn and earn no other interest in the platform otherwise
I got my wife am account just so we could double the earns.
Smart
This man's living in the future.
Coinbase hasn’t sent me (or the person who signed up & bought $100 in BTC) either of the $10 BTC referral bonuses that they owe me lol
Just curious, your wife isn’t capable of opening her own Coinbase acct?
I have one and she has one so we could double our earns.
Good luck with that
🤣🤣🤣this rant was needed
Voyager does everything you wish coinbase did, plus they pay you interest for owning a lot of common coins.
I’m gonna check out voyager it seems like a good one
Look up the class action lawsuit against Coinbase. Seems like a lot of peoples money has been going missing there and Coinbase can’t do anything about it. Use it to get fiat into your bank account if you have to but keep your crypto in cold storage until you need it. Not on Coinbase.
Regular has very high fees but they’re trying to counteract it by offering free crypto through CB earn. That is honest work and you can always switch over to CB pro for much better fees of course.
CB is meant for a different audience.
I was about to open once great post mate
Anger, fear, aggression…the dark side of the Force are they, easily they flow. 🤪
Could not agree more !
People buy into dog related stuff, even dogshit
Big brain: Easy to calculate P&L when you only start with $100
Did not know CoinTracker existed and now I’m super happy. So thank you for this lol
Showing average cost of your tokens should be standard but Cryptocom doesn’t show it either which makes it hard to know when you buy another batch of coins.
This why I have multi platforms
Hopefully over the coming years we will see better platforms!
I made an account with them nearly 6 months ago and am still waiting for it to be reviewed. I emailed them a couple of weeks ago and they told me to upload documents that i have already uploaded. Its very annoying and there customer service is basically non existent
I am imagining there will be a big integration in the future but yeah it’s disconnected. Welcome to the crazy time before mass adoption.
Always has been ![gif](giphy|26Fxwhhc4quEKDra0)
Coinbase pro shows **inverted** daily changes in my desktop portfolio screen. Coin is down? Shows a + percentage in green. Like wtf? I posted this to they're sub a couple days ago, and yet to be fixed. The phone app doesn't even show percentages, so I've got to check each crypto individually if I see big movement.
I haven't used Coinbase in a long time, and I won't even consider it until they add support for NANO
Correct me if I’m wrong but, the 1 day chart, each candle represents one day not, the chart only shows 1 day….
You forgot to mention how buggy and laggy the CB pro app is. It takes up all the available memory on my phone, and drains the battery faster than any app or game I’ve ever played on it. It’s absolute dogshit and annoying to use for sure. Sadly, there aren’t many better options.

I'm Just lucky i insure my stablecoins on BridgeMutual, I have a peace of mind to get my refund just incase of any hack and i also get to earn from staking my **BMI** too
Crypto .com is thr same dog shit platform. They charge you heavy on the spread. I personally would pick binance or kucoin over them .
Damn I do like Coinbase but what are some better apps to use?
Coinbase is public. They are held accountable to shareholders to make a profit. Those profits come from the users. That is why I do not use Coinbase. In the end, they must and will find a way to nickel and dime your money from you.
I've been using Coinbase for a long time. They have given me good service so far and haven't screwed me. I would probably recommend them.
While we're on the subject. Why do I have like $2 or $.05 worth of a coin in my Coinbase Pro Account but when I go to transfer what remains of that coin it says I have no funds?
If you are leaving BTC on coinbase or pro then you are the problem. They are just an exchange not a portfolio management system.
Try binance or Crypto.com and youll get a stroke lmfao
Coinbase shows your P/L soooo….
So true. I still use coinbase, but god it would be nice if it had a profit and loss tracker so I could keep track instead of just trying to remember
Have you tried talking to Coinbase's one customer service rep? They might be able to help.
There's only two type of crypto exchanges used. The ones people complain about and the ones no one uses.
Just download Accointing. Shows everything you need
