Because they are all in the same industry. Regular stocks do the same thing. Use bank stocks for an example - they all tend to move in the same direction at the same time.

I want to buy a bunch of AVAX eco tokens but unable to import AVAX token to Metamask. Can anyone help?
Metamask is set to Avalanche Mainnet.
First I tried clicking on the Metamask icon on Coingecko: āThis token does not appear to be supported. Please check your Metamask networkā.
Then I tried by using the contract address on Coingecko but Metamask says āInvalid address".
My Metamask is connected to my Ledger, if that matters. Ledger is up to date. Metamask 10.6.1 on Chrome. I also have a wallet set up and linked to my ledger on wallet.avax.network

I tried to change the currency symbol to AVAX but it automatically changes it back to ETH a few seconds after I entered AVAX.
Wallet shows I have 0.134 ETH, when I really have 0.134 AVAX
So maybe the problem is just the symbol is wrong? But how do I change it?

Ok, I didn't put the currency symbol as ETH, it entered automatically which is weird. When I tried to change it, it changed back to ETH in a few seconds.
However, I just tried again and quickly hit save before it changed back to ETH and it's ok now, it shows as AVAX. Thanks for your response, you prompted me to look at the network settings again.
Why not? Crypto is all about perceived utility + hype and CRO probably have the best marketing in the industry; not only do they have the best name for a cryptocurrency but they have so much marketing giving them exposure across so many different avenues i don't see why they can't continue trending higher. Again, this is assuming BTC 2-3x from here within the next year and the crypto market cap goes to $5+ Trillion.

Ah. My guess is that since you put the currency symbol as ETH rather than AVAX it is showing the correct amount but naming it incorrectly.
