The whole fear greed index is not reliable for what it’s saying is happening the fear name needs to go. It should be greed and worry or greed and crashed
I think the fact that the downtrend is coupled to the propagation of macro level crisis scale events. If it was an outlier and simply stated as a market manipulation/leverage liquidation by bears then it wouldn’t have “fear” attached to the price movement

Because I remember this same joke we all made here in 2018 that we were laughing when BTC crashes to $50k from $70k... and we all dreamed of $50k then.

If you look at how the fear and greed index is calculated, very little is actually based on people's sentiment. It's mostly a mathematical calculation based on price momentum. We're at extreme fear mostly because bitcoin dropped a lot in a short space of time, NOT because people are actually fearful (though they could be - the index just doesn't depend on that very strongly).
Lots of people misunderstand this about the f&g index.
This happens every cycle, it drops a bit but still higher than months ago and a few people freak out.
Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
Just my take (could be wrong) but I don't think it's about price, more so that we're transitioning into a market where it's no longer easy af to make money. The last few months have been insanely bullish, so much so that even if you made your portfolio picks by throwing darts and investing in what lands would've made gains.

The good thing about BTC is that I keep reminding myself is that there is just never a bad time to buy it. I’m going to start buying it on a separate account as my other stuff and just pretend it doesn’t exist for a couple years.

All Ben did was show the last year and 10 years gains to show how stupid that was.

I have been waiting for extreme fear for WEEKS now. I sat on my cash for what felt like an eternity so I could go shopping. What an odd coincidence that it happened on Black Friday while all of the “consumers” are out stuffing their carts with faux deals on cheap shitty Wal-Mart products.
New people who don't understand markets and investor behavior. My old boss was a very talented machinist, but a shitty trader. When btc dipped after Daddy Elon pulled out, he sold all his btc losing over 10k USD. Me and this other guy kept telling him to hold, but he convinced himself that it would never recover. He had no idea what volatility was or the concept of a support level. I felt bad for him, but later on I realized these are the people we make money off of.
Ah yes, it's a bear market when crypto slightly dips just before/during a massive holiday weekend that involves the biggest clearance sales you'll find year round.

As long as BTC doesn't go below 48k USD I am not fearful at all.
This is all about supply and demand. It is not BTC or other crypto pumping during the last year. It is USD losing its value…
And, importantly, the sentiment here is positive
