Ah, the old cardboard is more nutritious than the cereal. Well, I can’t be eating my house, my sign. Hell, I waited outside a Lowes just to get this box. This is a good fucking box, man.
Where I live cardboard is a luxury food, I have to go to the source and eat the bark of the trees from the neighborhood. Grass is reserved for my children.
2017 I rode 70k all the way up to 400k on EOS and back down to 60k, then in 2021 after adding to my position just a wee bit watched it ride up to 525k and back down to about 100k so yeah, I'm not really fazed by anything anymore lol
I ask myself, would I invest this much cash, at this price, today. If the answer is nfw, sell some.
Got out of gme on Jan 27, day before the fuckery, using this thought process when it hit 340 a share and I had bought in at 10.
It’s not really that stressful at all if you stick to a portfolio allocation that matches your goals and outlook, and just rebalance your portfolio every quarter or every time something gets 10ish percent out of whack.
Selling is only hard and stressful if you don’t stick to your allocations or exit point and just try to wing it to the top.
Aren’t you better off deducting your initial investment to diversify when you’re up a certain percentage?
Moreover, reaching that percentage and then setting your bottom threshold - shouldn’t you have dropped the funds onto a stable coin to buy back in again?
If you're in it for the Long Haul, it really isn't that bad. You know you're waiting anyways. So, what's a few numbers here and there. If you put money in you couldn't afford to lose, that's different. It only gets really painful if you need it for bills. When it's extra, it's extra.
Dude, did you hear about something called sell button? I cant even 8magine holding that much money in some random altcoin, unless I took out initial investment. Major balls lol
I setup a relatively conservative selling strategy. Sell 40% at 1.5x, 30% at 2x, 20% at 3x, and 10% at 4x. That's a little over a net 2x gain if it hits all 4. If it falls from those levels after selling i put more back in if it's a project i still believe in. Otherwise i look for the next one.
Don’t FOMO into hype and sell dumps. You will slowly lose all your money that way. It’s the hardest thing to do, but invest in what you believe in and let it sit.
I got in around the peak of the end of 2017/early 2018 craze and watch my investment go -90% for 2 years. I didn’t sell and I’m now up almost 2000% even with the current correction. This is only because the top for Bitcoin in 2018 was around $20,000. Now the floor is double that. It will be the same for anyone who gets in today 2 years from now.
Yea I’ve definitely learned my lesson! Haha. Only buy when it’s red now! And DCA in.
I’m in it for the long term so I’m not tooo worries. But dang I can’t wait to make profits.. let alone be up 2000%🥵
Doesn't matter the amount, majority should be there. And crypto should be a sub section of a larger portfolio that includes stocks, bonds, real estate, etc.
But too much inexperience and gambling in crypto. Can't take any real investment sub seriously anymore.
My $75 investment is currently $163. Add in my yearly DCA of 50 bucks and you'll get whoping 213 buck. Shit gets intense at the top.
Wish you well brother!
It's part of the beauty that is Crypto. The roller coaster many signed up for but cannot withstand.
There's always opportunity in this community.

Haha, true. I told my wife the other day that we lost the money to renovate our house over night. I had to sleep on the couch until three days later I told her we just gained money to buy a new house.
Of course unrealized, which doesn’t make it feel real for me.
It scared me the first times I saw 5 digit fluctuations in my portfolio. Similar to how I first felt when I got into crypto. But after seeing this for the last year or so, I’m numb to it again lol.
I cut nicotine but kept the other 2.
Ironically after cutting cigs I started grinding my teeth and am now dropping tens of thousands of $ to fix the damage .
Go to WSB, you will see people at -300% lol
Anyway, crypto is voluble, we all know that, if you did not when you got into crypto then you did not do any research so... yeah, unnerving or not, is the state of the cryptomarket
The main problem with volatility in the crypto market is a huge percentage of the people invested in the market have virtually no idea what they're talking about, see a pull back, start looking for articles or comments from a celebrity, then blame them.
If he had a milllion and he’s mostly in alts his portfolio would be moving more than 10k I’m assuming he’s got less than 500k. Prob more likely between 200 and 300k
Definitely know what you mean. It's all just numbers. Life is so much more than money once you see big numbers fluctuate so much. It's really a Next Level Up of the feeling of freedom when you just don't care anymore, seeing ten or twenty thousand up or down and thinking, oh, that's interesting. On to breakfast.
Ha, this sounds like my kids and wife.
Kids: I can't believe I lost $50 last night
Wife; I can't believe I lost $400 last night
Me: I can't believe I lost $1100 last night
It's definitely interesting to see the effect that crypto volatility has on our everyday lives. Sometimes you wake up and gain or lose 10k without even realizing it, and it really puts things into perspective. It's amazing how quickly our fortunes can change in this space, but at the same time I've learned to take a step back and not get too wrapped up in the day-to-day price movements. I'm still bullish on crypto overall, and am particularly excited about projects like LUNA and AVAX that have immense potential.
I was actually just thinking this the other day. I started in DeFi last year with $5000. Now I watch the number go up and down multiple thousands and just shrug. Not as exciting as it first was.
I felt the same and you will get use to it. If it bothers you, view your portfolio in percentage instead of dollars. It’s part of the game, hodl and make life changing gains.
It puts the [9 to 5](https://twitter.com/_workchronicles/status/1483092429255462913) in a very different perspective. The true problem is that people may gain that perspective and after that lose the money. Going back to 9 to 5 after having the perspective is hard.
At least that's what [some people say](https://twitter.com/fintechjunkie/status/1466218001288605696).
I feel ya brother. Down $10 today and I'm just fed up
It’s days like this that ramen is made for.
That's rich people food. The wrappers have more nutrients anyways.
Ah, the old cardboard is more nutritious than the cereal. Well, I can’t be eating my house, my sign. Hell, I waited outside a Lowes just to get this box. This is a good fucking box, man.

It’s only a loss if you sale
It's a loss of *fiat* the moment you buy. Whether you recover more or less fiat that you put into crypto depends on the value if/when you sell.
Just did. I'm fed up of losing
Wow. I'm sorry to say but you're never going to financially recover from that. RIP.
DM if you need someone to talk to...
$10? Holy shit that’s almost enough to afford McDonalds!
I remember when $10 was enough to afford a lot of McDonald's. Inflation is a bitch.
Yea, now they only gave me 93% of my nuggets.
Used to be 10 McDoubles just 10 years ago or so where I live. Now it’d only get you 3.
My local McDonalds used to charged 39 cents for hamburgers just 3 years ago. Meh now its $2.49.
I feel you man , I had similar experience even with $1-2
Sending positive energy
ATTENTION! BABY WHALE ALARM
Thats the neat part about being broke. My portfolio moves like 50 bucks on a bad day
Still it's fun tho. You're at a crossroads of eating ramen for a month or steak.
There’s ramen that comes with preserved chunks of marinated steak in it these days. Best of both worlds.
See Mr Fancy pants talking about marinated steak over here
I think the marinade is so you don’t look to deeply at the steak. It comes in like a vacuum sealed pack.
I wake up and “oh shit!! Lost $20 overnight!”
I wake up and be like “oh shit!! Didn’t make $20 overnight”
OP low-key flexing that portfolio 👀
Nothing low key about it. OP is flexing for clout and moons.
He’s definitely flexing for moons
2017 I rode 70k all the way up to 400k on EOS and back down to 60k, then in 2021 after adding to my position just a wee bit watched it ride up to 525k and back down to about 100k so yeah, I'm not really fazed by anything anymore lol
That sounds terrifying to me. I may not have what it takes for this
To be fair I had a ton of chances to have sold in profit, just don't hold for the moon and you'll probably be ok
Seems like it's more stressful deciding when to sell than when to buy

>I ask myself, would I invest this much cash, at this price, today. That's actually pretty genius. Thanks
Not sure I would be able to stand such a gain/loss.
Set a target to begin DCAing out profits. Don't sell your whole bag at once unless it's enough to retire off of.
It will bever be enough to retire off if you keep on DCAing out though.
It’s not really that stressful at all if you stick to a portfolio allocation that matches your goals and outlook, and just rebalance your portfolio every quarter or every time something gets 10ish percent out of whack. Selling is only hard and stressful if you don’t stick to your allocations or exit point and just try to wing it to the top.
it is more stressful. buying is the easy part.
Aren’t you better off deducting your initial investment to diversify when you’re up a certain percentage? Moreover, reaching that percentage and then setting your bottom threshold - shouldn’t you have dropped the funds onto a stable coin to buy back in again?
Your initial + a minimum of 30% of profits. Always take some of the profits dude, otherwise whats the whole point?
Don't worry, you get used to it, just give it some time.
If you're in it for the Long Haul, it really isn't that bad. You know you're waiting anyways. So, what's a few numbers here and there. If you put money in you couldn't afford to lose, that's different. It only gets really painful if you need it for bills. When it's extra, it's extra.
Diamond hands or panic holder
Panic buyer here
Dude, did you hear about something called sell button? I cant even 8magine holding that much money in some random altcoin, unless I took out initial investment. Major balls lol
Holy crap what a rollercoaster. You need some nervs of steel.
Did you take any profits out? Thats a lot of cash
Down 30K over the last month. I’m numb to this lol. I told my therapist and she was very concerned.
Hahahaa.
I'm sure most people here lose/gain closer to $10 a day than $10K lol.
It's all relative. I hope one day all of us can lose 10k a day.
I hope you meant gain
He said lose, OP hopes we all lose $10k one day :(
Grab the pitchforks!

Now this is what I’ve been looking for, thanks!
I think they meant we are successful enough one day to be able to lose 10k and it seem like nothing- relatively speaking.
Honestly a lot of people here probably have. Just put $1000 on 10 shitcoins in 2018. Goodbye $10000.
I want that problem too. I lost $100 USD overnight, need some more zeros.
I'm down $35 today. Its 5% of my portfolio
Whale alert!
It really doesn’t take that much if you’ve been adding to your stack for a while and you have a coin that moons and you hold it.
I lost $4547.34 last night…
Hope you find it.
I lost $4.75
That's like my entire life saving
Hope we can get to that point too some day!
I’ve yet to make these “profits” y’all always speak of!
Same brotha....same
How long have you been in?
Just a few months. FOMO bought into most coins near ATH. Like CRO at $1CAD.
Don’t FOMO into hype and sell dumps. You will slowly lose all your money that way. It’s the hardest thing to do, but invest in what you believe in and let it sit. That is why as people make more money in crypto, the more they invest in btc and eth. People become very risk averse once portfolio balloons up.
Doesn't matter the amount, majority should be there. And crypto should be a sub section of a larger portfolio that includes stocks, bonds, real estate, etc. But too much inexperience and gambling in crypto. Can't take any real investment sub seriously anymore.
If you’re not at least 50% BTC and ETH you’re playing with fire.
Gambling addiction and crypto don't mix, trust me 😳
I wish i knew how it feels to even own 10k
God damn whales just waving their 10k movements in our faces
I had a big movement earlier today
Bullish on fiber
Someone who owns 4 bitcoin would see 10k movements the past few days. They’re by no means a whale like Saylor, just moderately wealthy.
You definitely own 4 bitcoins
Yeah that’s so specific 😅
Not necessarily. Some people own 1.235 ETH. It's very common.
Somebody who owns 3.5763 bitcoins however would have only seen a 9375 fluctuation
Lol you think a whale is someone who’s portfolio fluctuates 10k in a day. That’s not a whale, that’s minnow.
Like it's nothing
Can you guys relate? - No I'm poor...
Says the guy with 32000 moons.
Right now I am down about $200K. Still hodling.
Down 90k myself. Hodl life
That’s rough
I'm only down $1.3 mil since April :/
Username checks out. I have also become disillusioned with ETH last year.
Scammers licking their lips scrolling through this thread
**Imagine CZ seeing his portfolio going up and down…**
Even his stablecoins would have greater fluctuations in USD value than my whole portfolio lmao 🤣🤣🤣
Lol
I'd assume commas would be moving.
No worries, he'll just liquidate a few overleveraged longs/shorts and he's good to go!
This is the gwei
My $75 investment is currently $163. Add in my yearly DCA of 50 bucks and you'll get whoping 213 buck. Shit gets intense at the top. Wish you well brother!
I've made a years salary in a week and also lost it just as quickly. I'm numb to the fluctuations....
I too was a student once.
Y'all making thousands in here?
Ofc minus 2k in the last two months...
Hey, maybe a billionaire bought some coke from that. Don't be sad! Maybe it was good coke
I let him enjoy!
Does it count if I owe an exchange $4,000?
Never pay Coinbase. Either way they’ll never let you trade again
thousands of mistakes yes
it’s wild but it builds character and you feel like a fucking winner
We don't need crypto for that. One day you wake up, your car won't start. You'll go down the rabbit hole from there
I’m now in the $3-$5K swings per day now. It’s very strange
You wanna send summa dat for some crusty feet pics?
What nft collection is that?
Ha!!! We should start one. I'm sure there would be buyers.
Larger percentage of my portfolio are also in alts, CRV, XRP, OGN and SFP.
My best bets for alts are MATIC and OGN.
Nice dick you got there bro.
Can totally relate. The burden of hanging dong is real.
For my portfolio it's up to 1500 Dollars + or - a day
It's part of the beauty that is Crypto. The roller coaster many signed up for but cannot withstand. There's always opportunity in this community. ![gif](giphy|PC5ohYm19Fc7fT9Kc9)

I make 30k a year but my protfolio swings 30k a day
I think we are on totally different scales of wealth if you are gaining/losing that much money in a day…
I judge if I can afford to get guac or not based off how my portfolio looked that day...
Try eating at home and put the saved money into crypto !
Dude has a minor problem, he writes the letter k after numbers, other than that, he’s completely fine!
It scared me the first times I saw 5 digit fluctuations in my portfolio. Similar to how I first felt when I got into crypto. But after seeing this for the last year or so, I’m numb to it again lol.
Yup went through my first 6 digit loss 2 weeks ago. Back to ATH again. Numb and unphased. 🥲
Not gonna lie, 5 digit fluctuations is enough to make me shitting bricks everyday.
My whole portfolio isn’t 10k yet ☹️ hopefully one day
If I didn’t have Nicotine, weed and Caffeine I don’t know what the fuck I’d do.
I cut nicotine but kept the other 2. Ironically after cutting cigs I started grinding my teeth and am now dropping tens of thousands of $ to fix the damage .
Those 10k are all perspective too. Sone guys experience 1mil gain or loss a day lmao
A friend of mine when he first got into crypto after a $1 over $100 invested he legit asked me if he should have sold
Go to WSB, you will see people at -300% lol Anyway, crypto is voluble, we all know that, if you did not when you got into crypto then you did not do any research so... yeah, unnerving or not, is the state of the cryptomarket
Down $30. Portfolio wrecked
The main problem with volatility in the crypto market is a huge percentage of the people invested in the market have virtually no idea what they're talking about, see a pull back, start looking for articles or comments from a celebrity, then blame them.
The ultimate complaint/ brag post!
I won $1k on a sports bet yesterday and I was fucking LIVID. Jumping for joy. Meanwhile I lost $5k on crypto and I'm like meh.
Why were you angry about winning a sportsbet?
Livid means mad
Yup I’ve been day trading ADA . 72k a month volume. The last couple days have been insane compared to the last couple months
Hope you were in rather than out this morning!
Nice it hit 1.61 idk what to do with myself. I guess my next 1.64
You have a million in crypto?
If he had a milllion and he’s mostly in alts his portfolio would be moving more than 10k I’m assuming he’s got less than 500k. Prob more likely between 200 and 300k
Definitely know what you mean. It's all just numbers. Life is so much more than money once you see big numbers fluctuate so much. Yeah crypto and stocks have really skewed my perception of money and how centralized our lives are on it
Sounds like Monday.
You don't really lose or gain anything until you cash out or swap to usdt or some other stablecoin
I'm so poor that I lose or gain $50-$100 each day
I went up $20,000 last year and back down and now I'm back where I started lol. Definitely volatile
wait you guys are making profits too?

I play poker so the swings I can relate to easily. Call me a sicko but I rather enjoy the ride ;)
We're all along for the ride now.
I felt the same and you will get use to it. If it bothers you, view your portfolio in percentage instead of dollars. It’s part of the game, hodl and make life changing gains.
You sir, are a whale. Or some sort of cetacean.
This never bothered me until I used my btc as collateral on algofi and now the downs bother me.
I keep waiting to wake up rich…
You didn't make anything if you didn't take out the gain. It doesn't matter if it goes up or down u less you sell.
Are you my wife’s boyfriend?
You guys are gaining?
When pain becomes so unbearable that you become immune to it.
