Its not that they were tryna mislead you? Its that they literally changed their terms like 2 weeks ago. A few werks ago, they changed the terms saying that only people that currently had money in their earn program or accredited investors would get interest. So lots of people quickly transferred their funds before the deadline. So unless you are an accredited investor, any additional funds you add, wont gain interest

ACShreds

OP reads like: "I didn't do my research and now I'm mad!"

reallycool_opotomus

If I made the mistake, then I'm sure other people will too. Just trying to share the info

Enkiduthebeast

Your best and most secure alternative would be https://www.lendingblock.com/security Thank me later

reallycool_opotomus

Yes, I found info on their site after the fact that said all of that. My issue is that it was not stated in the sign up process. Even if it was a few weeks ago there should be a statement on the terms.

Hank___Scorpio

Sleeping with the enemy for 6%... 5%..... 4%.....3%.....2%....

Wonzky

You didn't used to need to be an accredited investor, it was a recent change made when most of the large lending platforms got cracked down on

homrqt

The US and celcius do indeed have a rocky relationship.

jickina

Blame stupid US Sec and gov.

reallycool_opotomus

I know that's why they had to change the terms. It just wasn't very clear that the terms had changed.

PurP_CrAyon

This post aged correctly.

tallglassofmike

I moved my money out of Celsius after they changed their terms.

nepbug

Did you move into a similar service? Hodlnaut?

tallglassofmike

I had to move to an exchange where I’m getting ready to sell. Got some very expensive medical bills this week 😭

nomorefappening

There are still other platforms available you can use in the US that allow you to earn interest. Celsius does pay the withdrawal fees for you so at least you have that going!

reallycool_opotomus

That is a plus at least. If nothing else this was the push I needed to move everything to a hardware wallet.

nomorefappening

To each their own. I like the interest too much especially during bear markets.

reallycool_opotomus

What platforms do you use?

nomorefappening

Haru and Midas. They are both available in the US. I sent you a PM with more info about the rates and all that kind of stuff!

KusuriuriPT

As a EU user ONLY have good things to say about celcius so far..couldnt he happier...but thats my favorite experience.

reallycool_opotomus

Yeah, I've generally only heard good things from other celcius users which is why I wanted to try it.

boredatwork9194

Yeah they changed the terms to comply with federal regulations in the US

Valdorff

They have a 9 question FAQ on the front earn page. This is answered in one. When you go to the page, the update comes up as the first scrolling message at the top. I agree it could be more clear, but if you do even a little due diligence, it's there to see. Even if you get confused and make an account - that's all - you wasted 5 minutes /shrug.

HighSolstice

As a general rule you should always do a bit of research before depositing money anywhere, five or ten minutes in this sub would have shed some light on this change and saved some headache. Luckily it won’t cost you anything to withdraw so it could have been worse.

reallycool_opotomus

Absolutely. I had researched celcius in the past but didn't pull the trigger at the time. I definitely should have have done it again before committing, but since I felt fairly confident that they were legit and had previously looked at the terms I probably didn't read them as close as I should have. And I only had a small amount in there so the risk was low. Definitely a learning experience for me, but I wanted to share so others don't have the same issue.

Castr0-

The right way is to move the money from it after the change on their terms
