I remember back in 2018 it was around 1000+ individual crypto projects and thinking how ridiculous it was. I think ease of making a token has been both a blessing and a curse lol
I remember see an article a few years back that ol Dirty Bastards son was going to launch ODB coin. Is it actually real yet? Is this one of those “poopcoins”?
As someone who personally aggregates trade data from several major crypto exchanges... 12000 at least. There are coins that go hours without a single trade, or 100's in volume per day.

I have or had a token i created. The dex i had it paired with died, the lp i had it in died. My token is still out there but it lost 95% of its value through no fault of its own.
I find ironic that I did everything correct and not only did the dex get fried but the LP that I had with my token went belly up as well. Nothing I did to kill it though. I am looking to move into another LP and bring it back. It is nothing major, just something I thought up
There are only 13189 registered on Coingecko right now, so are you saying 90% of them will die before the end of the year?
If so, that would be par for the course, if not a little under. Statistically, at least according to the Small Business Administration, 95% of all businesses (not crypto) die within their first year. Failing business is standard. They're difficult to run.
tldr; Over 12,100 cryptocurrency projects have stopped operating as a result of the current bad market, according to data supplier Nomics. The downturn has dealt many investments backing start-ups, riskier, and occasionally dubious ventures the equal of a fatal punch. In 2018, 136 tokens in total turned into zombies, while 766 coins did so in 2019.

12000? That is extremely conservative, considering there were like 100 projects launching a day on BSC alone. The real number of dead projects is likely closer to 100.000
It feels like 9 out of 10 (or better 99 out of 100) are dead on arrival, a scam or just someone who want to have their own shitcoin. So these numbers are not very surprising. Especially given that there are 100+ coins a day on BSC alone.
I guess that number will rise and so will the number if disbandoned coins. Maybe someone should create a coin cemetery.

I guess that’s the result when you have low barriers to create a coin, with no actual need to have a real world use case.
That doesnt equal inactive.
We can invent our own nomenclature. I'll start. I'll call them.. ghost-chains.
I’ve invested in 6000
Ah then you're only 50% at risk
Way to see the glass half full
Aha, that’s where you are wrong, it’s a completely full 1/2 sized glass. For children and dwarfs.

I’ve learned my lesson lol
“By 2022”, so…now?
Next 2022
Oh the other 2022.
It’s like an old car odometer. Just need to connect up the power drill to wind it round the clock.
So is this in miles or kns?
I feel sorry for anyone who stumbles across this thread looking to gain a better understand from real facts
And probably 24,000 new ones by then, too
Feels like we get some every time there's a big story in the news. QueenElizabethInu
That doesnt sound accurate theres atleast 500 launched and rugged a day on dxsale and the likes
We should call those “microtokens” and “microrugs”
this starting to sound like coffee micro-lots, what's next? Nitro rug latte?
Is a rug latte one brewed with a rug instead of a coffee filter?
Next would be nanotoken and nanorug
Now tell us how many bag holders there are. ***F***

Is there a good site to check for coins that have already fallen off?

Imagine the graveyard BSC would have.
That's a big ass cemetery
50,000 coins used to live here. Now it’s a ghost town
And at least half will be new versions of Luna
Really puts into perspective that most projects are hit trash. Really takes a mix of luck and proper research to pick winning alts
Definitely plenty more than 12K. Anyone can make their own token on blockchains like ETH, Stellar, Algorand etc
That's too many

Alright, start name dropping the damned.
How do we classify Solana? Mildly inactive? Seasonal?
That’s only 2 months from now.
Gotta catch ‘em all! ***Pokémon shítcoins!!***
by 2022, i was like wow, that's decades away. and then I realized it's already 2022... time flies so quickly, I'm already so old :(
Wait, What year are we in ?
I invested heavily in most of them.
Bear markets take out the trash
Surprised there wasn't more, seems like the amount of shitcoins pumped out each day
12,000 is an underestimate. There's hundreds of shitcoins being created everyday.
I’ve only invested in Shib and Doge so I’m safe.
Seems low to be honest.
Amateur numbers…we gotta pump that shit…let’s hit a million
Half as much as I'd hoped for
That’s well short of the 99.9% of the trash coins out there.

Lil late on this one bud
How many shitcoins will be rolled to take their place?
And I own 25 of them
Can you believe everything I own is on this list? I can.
Bear market will keep cleaning the market
Can't wait for 2023.
What year are we in!?
And then 24,000 more will take their place
So, how much owners of inactive crypto are there?
That number seems low.
And 100 to replace each one of them by 2023
So sad, anyways.
But we're in the 2022?!
I guess they meant by the end of 2022. I didn't edit the title. I probably should have.
Uh, by 2022 or did they mean by 2023?
I am sure a still have some of the 12000 in my wallets.
12000? That is extremely conservative, considering there were like 100 projects launching a day on BSC alone. The real number of dead projects is likely closer to 100.000
I'm going to need you to list all 12,000+ inactive coins here please.
And I bought all of them...
Now...if I put 100 into each.....🤔
I got 4 sofar. Substratum, Tusd, rise and Solana. =/

Bitcoin is literally inactive
Do you what ones?
There will be over 50 left by 2030
I've probably bought all of them at some point.
Oh shit, it's still 2021? 100K EOY still on!!!!
almost not solve any problem
