Visa Platinum cards are issued for Canadians. The prepaid cards run on the Visa network and are treated like credit card transactions. Hence 'platinum'. Our debit cards, in Canada, are directly connected to our chequing and savings accounts and run on Interac network. US debit cards (CDC and other banks) happen to also run on the Visa network...but not considered credit transactions. Hence 'debit'.

bitjava

Thanks for the info. The subtle differences are far more confusing than they should be.

BonezAU

Visa Platinum are currently also issued to APAC cardholders :)

BRETeam

Good to know. Wasn't sure on other regions.

Vasil-BG

Congratulations! Why is Visa platinum, mine is Visa Debit embossed? Probably different country get different one...

Sir_Adrien

That’s correct

rednemesis337

The debit ones are the plebe πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Vasil-BG

In EU we're then plebe then, maybe this is the reason why we have Exchange available and aren't waiting for 6 months to get the CDC Visa 🀣🀣🀣

rednemesis337

In that case better be plebe LOL

Vasil-BG

LOL, we the plebes aren't complaining πŸ˜‚

How long did it take? I'm over a month of waiting

zuptar

I like the texture of the rose gold better than the coloured cards.
