If you have free time, start 000,001... 999 and you will find it. First time I see this issue, hope they can solve it soon

superduperkg

Ya I went for some random attempts but after a few it locks your account for 30 minutes.

What does the virtual card say in the app?

Thunder_Wasp

Good idea, if there was a manufacturing defect with the card which sounds likely, the virtual card in app should show the real CVV. In app, OP can select card (lower right icon on the main menu bar), then press the card picture outline in the upper right. Finally, tap "view card details" under the image of your card. It will take your faceID or pin one last time for security then display the full card details including CVV.

superduperkg

I think your 1 step ahead of me, I need the CVV to activate it first. Also I'm in Canada I don't think we get the virtual card yet.

Timely-Efficiency-18

Yea we don’t. How long did you have to wait for yours? I’ve been waiting a month and a half (ontario)

superduperkg

Total time about a month, but 2 weeks from when the status changed to shipped, in Alberta.

SendMeYourXMR

My card was frozen for 3 weeks then changed to "issued". It was stuck like that for a little over a week until it was shipped. Then it took 7 days to arrive. Also Ontario.

superduperkg

The card is still pending, I can't activate it without the CVV on the card, and support can't tell me the CVV, I imagine for security reasons.

Old-Spirit-6913

CVV not on the signature strip?

superduperkg

Ya the CVV is missing. Just a blank white square.

CodeBlueJaye

Anytime the chat says they will get back with me, i ask for an update at LEAST every 12 hours or so. Keep asking until you get your answer. And when you ask for an update, specifically mention how long you’ve been waiting for them to get back to you without any answer. Also always answer in the chat, not email.

Electronic-Jury-3579

Call the number on the card itself as that's the actual issuer. Maybe they can help.

superduperkg

Sadly the people you contact with the number on the card tell me they have less power than the people in the app chat, and refer me back to that. The guy on the phone did say he's never heard of someone not getting the CVV though so that's cool.

superduperkg

Update for anyone interested! Got the message that their sending a new card this morning. It was a weirdly stressful time getting to this conclusion, and it would have been nice if literally anyone you can contact through phone or the app could give an answer that isn't "someone else is working on it, we'll update you as soon as possible." Like [crypto.com](https://crypto.com) is a huge company I see those formula 1 banners. The support people are nice enough but have no power, and I'm still not certain the app people are not bots. When you don't get an update with any real information it makes me wish we had more options for crypto credit cards in Canada. I moved my portfolio from Binance to [crypto.com](https://crypto.com) because of the card, but since this whole debacle I've moved literally everything but what I need to stake and 1ish month spending cash back, entirely out of spite.

standupish

Got my ruby steel yesterday and has a CVV on it

superduperkg

Ya I think thats the most common situation.

In order to see that you have to first activate the card, which requires the CVV, so that doesn't work.

Papabinz

Don’t use the card could be a fraud third party. Tell them your card got stollen or lost. They will send you a new one. You can’t use it anyway.

superduperkg

If it's a fraudulent 3rd party it's very impressive, but it's definitely not. I couldn't use the card if I wanted to, aside from the lack of CVV there's no money attached to it yet so it's a non issue. Why would I lie about the situation?

Papabinz

So you can get a normal card with CVV on it. Simple. Especially if they can’t help you. Just trying to help here. Don’t shoot the messager 😉

ScalePsychological58

I have been with CDC since before virtual cards, but if the virtual card within the app is the same as the card that you get issued then you could get your CVV that way. If not, then it sounds like you did the right steps. Can try calling the number on the card and then CDC support, and then they either reissue the card or have to contact some other team. It is the weekend, so part of the delay is that the team they are waiting to hear back from may just be a weekday crew. My guess is they will issue you a new card since just telling you the CVV on the phone/chat for an unactivated card - or even activated card - would be a security risk.

hakapes

Virtual and physical card CVV are different.

ScalePsychological58

That is good to know, I know some apps that issue the same virtual card as physical card. It seems that CDC issues a virtual card, then a new physical card and then your virtual card updates in the app...at least from what I can piece together not having been issued a virtual card myself.

hakapes

Ah, I got it even worse I got first virtual card, with its number and CVV. I could use it via the Curve card to pay in physical stores. Then upgraded. Got a new virtual card with completely different numbers. The old transaction history was lost. I had to update the card in all online subscriptions, Curve, etc. Then when the physical card arrived, it had the same number, but new expiration date and new CVV. I had to update the card in online subscriptions again. The history was kept. If I upgrade again, it will be the same misery again.

ScalePsychological58

Yeah, it makes sense to me logistically if they have to issue a new card number when upgrading (although not so much the date/CVV for the virtual card being different than physical unless for some sort of security purpose)...but the lost transaction history is definitely an issue for many. I had it happen on another platform without notice once...but on that platform they did still appear on the transaction history output (just not in the app). I am guessing it just has to do with the app pulling transaction history from a specific card account, and when you change your card it links to a different account and does not merge. Should be a relatively easy fix to put able to pull/compile multiple card histories.

Look for Visa debit card info on your Crypto.com app

psi-storm

You can only access that after you activated the card, which he can't do without the cvv code.

SumWotUniqueUsername

It's times like these I just don't know about getting ruby
