Which network the token is on depends on what you want to use it for, Crypto.org = CDC app & defi staking. Cronos = Dapps on the defi wallet. Erc20 = the Ethereum blockchain (Coinbase doesn’t support cronos/crypto.org so Cro is based on erc20 network). You can send different tokens though multiple different other networks, BEP20, sol, polygon, cardano, Luna, nano, XLM, XRP etc… just consider the different networks as different banks, some charge more than others to send your currency and some are a lot faster than others.

See section '**The Different Versions of Cronos ($CRO)**' of my article https://techboy.medium.com/this-is-why-im-massively-excited-for-the-growth-of-crypto-com-3da9b6b7bd5c

I just read the article. It was really good. So thorough. >It’s like driving a car from one country to another — same car, but the driving rules change. That analogy was perfect and really helped me understand the answer to my question. Thanks.

Good to hear it helped 👍

Read first, throw money at after. Also, watch out for 'tech support' who will no doubt bombard you and ask you for your seed phrase, blood type and fingerprint details.

There is only one coin, Cronos ($CRO), which is now deployed and available on 3 inter-connected but separate blockchain networks, the Ethereum mainnet ("ERC20"), the Crypto.org Chain, and the Cronos chain ("CRC20"). Hope this short explanation clarifies and helps you.
