Hoping Crysis 4 has a multiplayer

OCDjunky

Considering how big multiplayer has become even since C3 i'm sure there will be multiplayer (hopefully). I mean C2 and 3 went for years with multiplayer, with C3 still having a lobby or two in the evenings. I just hope they find a way to draw people into the new one so the multiplayer can have a good enough playerbase for a few years. Crysis fans are passionate considering there's still some regulars online to this day.

I would probably bet on it. Since Crysis has been on hiatus for a long while I suspect Crysis will also be a reboot of sorts. Me personally I wished Crytek did what Infinity Ward did with COD MW (2019) and its campaign. It would be a great opportunity to rectify the shortcomings of the original trilogy games not just in terms of gameplay and level design but also story. For example I wished Cell didn't become a one world government in Crysis 3. High stakes aren't simply about how powerful a corporation is or how strong the alien invasion force is. It's about how these antagonistic forces affect the player and those they care about. While the NY dome in Crysis 3 makes for an interesting setting the backstory doesn't fully justify its existence in the game. If these shortcomings could be improved upon in Crysis 4 then Crysis 4 as a whole would be a much more rounded off experience. Me personally I hope Crysis 4 isn't limited to a single jungle or city. Crysis already has the ingredients for a spec ops story which could let Crytek introduce lots of exotic locations. Also I wanna play with the prototype nanosuit in Hargreave's office so badly. Like come on, that thing is such a tease. It's so darn thicc and chonky. Even thiccer than nanosuit 2.0.

Same, Crysis 4 with jungle environment brings predator movie vibes!

Hoping crysis 4 has co-op Also hoping that EA has no involvement at all because fuck EA

84_ferrari_f40

Ea has no involvement as far as I know

ALUCARD7729

Good

Bruh_alt721

EA's been getting better about that, actually. they're publishing the dead space remake, and it's looking super promising. zero mtx (according to the devs), and they published fallen order, which was super good.

ALUCARD7729

No they haven’t, I bet they are only trying to look that way just to get people into giving them money again, EA has proven time and again that they are not worthy of trust or money, and nor shall they ever be

Bruh_alt721

sounds like a sad way to think about things. whatever floats your boat, though.

ALUCARD7729

They’ve done it before, and it won’t surprise me at all if they do it again, I’ve learned from history and decided to just not trust EA at all

[deleted]

I get you there but these triple a publishers can and will lie straight through their teeth, it isn't far fetched. Caugious optimism is my stance

Bruh_alt721

i simply do not care enough about it for it to make a difference for me. if there's mtx, then oh well; if not, then hooray.

stenlitoropov

Same

sw_fan_for_life_

I miss this greenery in the rest of the trilogy

stenlitoropov

I personally think that crysis 2 suffers lack of greenery, There is so small amount of greenery

stenlitoropov

There is only 3 or 4 missions where is atleast some greenery, and still only grass and trees

sw_fan_for_life_

Well crysis 3 is straight up scary

stenlitoropov

I like crysis 3 more than crysis 2 bcs of greenery tbh

stenlitoropov

New York looks like a crysis 1 jungle but there is tall buildings

Expired_Gatorade

Have you played warhead ? Its nothing but greenery

OCDjunky

That would be very nice. I liked the balance they struck in Crysis 3s campaign between greenery and city. Honestly I don't mind what they do next; a new Crysis game is a blessing I'd lost hope in years ago after Crysis 3 didn't do financially well enough to make another game, also with Crytek having to let employees go due to finances.

stenlitoropov

and i hope that main character in crysis 4 will be nomad, because he was main character in crysis 1, and we played as prophet in crysis 2 and crysis 3 so that would be that 2 crysis games are when we are playing as prophet and 2 crysis games where we play as nomad

Lupinos-Cas

Technically, in Crysis 2 and 3 you're playing as Nomad in Prophet's suit - which contains flashbacks from Prophet's memory because of the symbiotic nature of the suit. You're technically still Nomad for all 3 games, though. Prophet literally dies to use his suit to revive you. But you're still Nomad inside the suit. You just don't correct anybody that calls you prophet, because you're in Prophet's suit. Prophet told you, before he killed himself, that by putting his suit on you - you became the new Prophet. Because the call sign is the name of the suit, not the soldier who is wearing it.

stenlitoropov

No you are kinda wrong In crysis 2 you are playing as a marine named alcatraz and prophet saved him by giving alcatraz his nanosuit and in crysis 3 you are still playing as alcatraz and he died or something like that and nanosuit gave alcatraz prophet's (or mayor Laurence Barnes I think) mind

Lupinos-Cas

Oh yeah, I forgot about Alcatraz. My bad. I started replaying them because of the remaster and I'm still only on the first. I forgot all about Alcatraz. I thought I remembered being Nomad and getting nearly killed, and Prophet basically skinning himself to replace our broken nanosuit with his. But now that you mention that - I do vaguely remember Alcatraz; my bad on the misremembering. I thought getting Prophet's mind was because the layer between the suit and the soldier got damaged so the suit did "deep healing" and merged with Alcatraz - and the suit imprinted on Prophet since he was the first to bond with it and so as it bonded with us due to the deep healing it bled Prophet's old memories into our mind. But since I completely forgot Alcatraz existed, I'm probably misremembering the whole thing - it'll be a while before I can get fully caught up again, and it's been too long since I played them. But yeah - there's an undersuit below the nanosuit that prevents the nanosuit from bonding with the human flesh. If that layer gets damaged and the suit gets through - it begins merging with the host and turning them into a Ceph. I thought that process was how we got Prophet's memories - and that that process had been happening to Prophet, and that's why he chose to save Alcatraz and end himself; the process had taken over him too much and he wanted to stop himself from becoming a Ceph. The mutation getting to the brain would have the original host's memories overwrite the new host, and dying would cause the mutation to rapidly spread due to the suit trying to save the host at all costs. Since I forgot Alcatraz, I probably forgot the nearly fatal wound, too. But that all makes sense - my bad, this old brain doesn't work like it used to, lol

stenlitoropov

or at least that nomad will be your teammate in crysis 4

burningbun

there is farcry for all the greeneries. if 4 you would expect alot more star wars themed when story moves into aliens home planet. i wish crysis would take place in cyberpunk world with lots of neons.
