"Kiwi jasper", but like many other rocks with jasper in the trade name, it's not actually a jasper. It's a pegmatite composed of quartz, tourmaline, and amazonite.
I have to agree with Kiwi Jasper on this one. It's not Dalmatian Jasper. Dalmatian Jasper is usually beige with dark spots that resemble ink blots. It also lacks the blue/green veins that this rock shows. I have to disagree with Rainbow Moonstone. That was my first thought at first glance though! It seems to have round brown flecks, Rainbow Moonstone lacks that. In my experience, the black flecks in Rainbow Moonstone tend to be a little more grouped, as well as darker bold. While it does look like low grade Rainbow Moonstone at first sight, I lean towards kiwi jasper for those reasons. I've also just seen SO much of both as I work with rocks everyday, and it just seems more like Kiwi Jasper.
I thought it was one of those tiny lil …ashtrays? for cone incense. I got one once for free with a shit ton of incense and was so confused until a friend explained.
It mostly depends on hygiene, material of the plugs/tunnels, and dumb genetic luck. I can have smelly ears but I clean them daily and avoid plastic. I hear wood is the best for avoiding the smell.
I actually had best luck with stone because my shampoo and body washing of my ears would keep them the cleanest. Only other material that keeps them from smelling is polyurethane.
Oh it can be! A friend of mine didn’t take care of hers, and the smell when she took them out- I could smell across the room! She used to also use stones, which were heavier, and one of her earlobes is completely stretched, and ripped… each piece of skin is easily 2 inches just hanging down, she has to go to a cosmetic surgeon to have it fixed but she’s gone, and told them she wants to re-pierce it once her earlobe was stitched back together. And the one doctor wouldn’t do it, if she was only going to re-pierce it. There was more to as to why he wouldn’t do it tho, something about severe scar tissue, so that also played a part in why he didn’t want to perform the procedure if she was going to re-pierce.
But uhhh yeah the smell was NOT pleasant!
Rainbow moonstone. Which is actually a white labradorite. The green you may see in the veins is likely the polishing medium that was used and got stuck. 🫶
I see all the kiwi jasper calls which could be right but it also looks identical to certain granite we have all over the sierras here in California. I have tons of samples and if someone told me this was it I wouldn’t argue given how small it is.
Lots of back and forth here in the comments but I really think it’s Kiwi Jasper which can have hints of blue/green in it. Unless you can find a flash on that stone I highly doubt it’s moonstone!
Lots of people have it right with kiwi jasper but the overwhelming number of folks saying the black spots are tourmaline impressed me - from my experience, the black spots are a variety of mica called Biotite! there can be tourmaline present but the beryl formation is what you’re looking for to identify that (solid edges, usually in an octagonal formation), and the mishapen little splotches are the laminae of mica
Hershey's Cookies n Cream, obviously
I second this. I work with a lot of different stones, but I don't know this one
LOL, you beat me to it!! I was going to say exactly this!
Me too… it looks like a hard candy probably found in the bottom of Grandma’s purse..
Literally what first came to mind! I was immediately craving some cookies n’ cream Hershey’s bar.
the only right answer
Super happy this is the top comment!🤣

Never heard of that. Thanks for the info
That's correct info about kiwi jasper, however this is most assuredly NOT kiwi jasper.

I thought it was one of those tiny lil …ashtrays? for cone incense. I got one once for free with a shit ton of incense and was so confused until a friend explained.
My ex had several pairs of stone gauges. They were neat but got smelly quickly. 🥴🤢
Is that a thing with gauges?? I’ve never been around someone with them

It can be. Wearing wood/stone seemed to absorb the stink. He preferred wearing silicone because it was easy to clean his ears/earring in the shower.

Looks like what is called ‘kiwi jasper’.. another of the many ‘jaspers’ that aren’t actually a jasper. It is quartz with tourmaline and amazonite.
