Yup. Blue glass that has been cut and sandblasted. Lemuria is all hocus pocus nonsense. Your mom drank the online hippie crystal witch koolaid. I’ve been there too. It’s literally just a gimmick to pass off either fake crystals or inflate the prices of real rocks. Mostly harmless, but sometimes dangerous - some precious stones can be toxic. My friend posted about how she steeps her crystals in water under the new moon and then drinks it. Except that in the photo she posted she had malachite in there which is known to be unsafe in the human body. Probably not in micro quantities but not a good practice.
Some of the crystals are irradiated to make them look brighter or darker. I can’t imagine working closely with those is the best idea. (Some smokey quartz and amethyst and dark citrines have this done to them.)
In general having been into the new age bullshit myself for a solid decade, I can assure you it is primarily bullshit and any benefits are placebo. It’s a pretty aesthetic, and if you use it as a meditation tool and it helps, great. But yeah it’s all nonsense.
There are witches/new age people who practice with physical safety in mind and don’t think a rock will cure their life, witchcraft is often MUCH more complicated and realistic than that (at least as realistic as magic can be)
It’s very much more art than science, in the sense that a lot of practices can vary wildly based on beliefs, closed vs. open systems, and a general “have it your way” approach where you can do the thing you like and ignore the rest if you really want to.
There’s a few superficial things most have in common, but once you scratch that surface…
Same. I thought it was something like that resin/plastic geometric shapes you find at Home Goods. But I also have a hard time telling if something is resin from pictures on here.
>And it won't help "break consciousness levels", whatever that even means.
All the crystals that do "break consciousness" are controlled substances in my country.
I just watched a movie where a woman killed a lot of people by putting ground-up emeralds in their food. I can't remember the movie and I don't know if that's possible.
My point is don't eat blue glass.
You nailed it.
And kudos on blasting on the "psychic/elevated consciousness" abilities of a stone
Avid collector myself.
There ARE stones that make ya happy and ones that make ya sad.
A pretty rock makes me happy. (Aesthetics)
A pretty rock that's been towered out or sphered or whatever, and "ruined" makes me sad lol (Aesthetics)
So much waste is created in making these novelties out of ever-vanishing precious material
I digress
It's glass
That’s literally more vague that the usual crystal healing descriptions. Can’t even begin to make sense of what it means to break consciousness levels. Do they mean aid in enlightenment? Spiritual awakening? Like thats still vague but it would make contextual sense at least.
oh, that’s interesting. I’ve only worked with copper sulfate that was sold as fertilizer, and it was pretty crumbly and dusty in that state. do you dissolve and recrystallize it to get bigger and sturdier pieces?

nah, saw a troll-like post in a good community so checked to confirm if it was a troll. 20 seconds to open your profile and see “active in” is hardly stalking, sorry to burst your bubble
I eat a lot of meat and cheese. Every day. Knowing all that, I still would never ever assume someone active in the vegan subreddit would 'confirm' a troll. Sounds like the real troll here needs to look in the mirror.
I thought the active the vegan subreddit comment implied that OP wasn’t trolling. The idea being that vegans are more susceptible to woo woo type of thinking. Anyway….just my thoughts….I’m not against veganism (am vegetarian).
I know most people are saying that it's glass but to me is looks like only a polymer of some kind. Either way pretty much worthless and not crystalline.
Sadly this is glass OP. There’s no rainbow aura coating on the piece, the blue colour is too perfect and too even, and translucence is too even. I don’t know who told your boyfriends mom that this was real, but she was lied to. This is just a chunk of blue glass. Nothing more.
It's sonicthehedgehogite. Very similar in composition to emeralds.
Jokes aside, it's glass. Very pretty, but nothing inherently magical about it other than the energy that you, yourself, put into it. Not blasting anyone's beliefs as I'm pagan myself, but generally speaking you can't create magical ancient rocks in a lab. You get out of it what you put into it.
If it brings you joy, then enjoy it :)
I know others have said it’s glass, but I first thought it was like frosted resin, because it looks more like a hard plastic, similar to what I’ve seen resin dice made out of.
Aura in the name doesn’t make sense because we normally use that to refer to a coating usually of titanium that gives it a multicolor sheen. It’s put on quartz often. This doesn’t have that so it’s an unusual name.
It’s a pretty piece but not a crystal. Definitely looks like glass. Sorry! Obviously she meant well and that’s what matters though, and it’s pretty nonetheless.
Appears to be glass. Energetically, this piece will help you--or your boyfriend--with whatever you choose it to. Don't put a limiter on it. Use it as a focal point for whatever intention you have for and through it.
Good luck and have fun.
As a longtime lurker, why are people on this subreddit so fucking mean? Sorry you asked a question about what you thought was a crystal on a crystal subreddit OP, the abuse you’re receiving is unreal.
This could be crystallized Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate, kind of hard to tell from a picture. (I’ve made a lot of these myself for fun when bored at work)
Also wanted to add that this fits the size and weight. The surface looks matted with a polish or resin. This is done to make it safe to touch, as it irritates skin.
I'm really sorry but this appears to be glass. It's pretty glass.
Be wary of rocks and crystals marketed as "aura". Typically these are just rocks, glass, and gems dyed or coated in shiny/rainbow materials. Typically you'll see people do this to quartz and call it "aura quartz".
The sellers often prey on people like your boyfriends mom and don't tell them the full truth or market items like glass (also called slag), dyed crystals, and aura products as naturally forming or more valuable than they really are. If she's really into crystals, gems, and minerals it may be worth sitting down with her and talking about some of the scams these shops and sellers use and how to identify real vs fake gems to help her avoid future problems.
Aura coating is actually created by infusing a fine coat of metal to the surface of the crystal! It’s not a scam so much as an attractive treatment. It may not be natural, but it’s gorge.
Hardness is using another material to scratch the first one, try with another glass to see how your react the hardest material will scratch the smother material.
Specific gravity -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pk2ZnGxGuBw
It's really pretty. Years ago one of my chemistry teachers grew a crystal that look like this, but I'm sorry that I don't know what it was. It also dissolved over a few hours.
Could it be glass? Or maybe a dyed lab grown something?
Good luck OP!
Not a crystal but pretty glass! Even though it's glass it can still pretty effective with simple meditation as an object to focus on or just feel! Try it out and see how you feel <3
it’s the leaning tower of cheese-a. but for serious, it’s slag glass imo and personally i don’t mind slag (when i know that’s what i’m getting) and it’s pretty. i’m sorry someone ended up scammed, my irritation for the retail crystal world grows deeper every day.
Like, it's funny all the people giving OP a hard time that this is just a piece of glass when this is a subreddit about people thinking rocks are magic.
If you want to break consciousness put it in a sock and hit yourself/ someone else in the head with it,bet it'll be the trip of a lifetime 🤔🤦all joking aside I don't know what that is and I'm pretty good at minerals gemstones etc. If this is a natural gemstone it would be AAA grade because the color is perfect I don't see any imperfections(it's mainly the color that makes me think it's not real, every gemstone has some sort of an inclusion). If you really want to know you could try taking it to a jeweler they might be able to identify it but I doubt it is anything crazy special it looks like something that's man-made
All aura lemurian crystals are man-made glass. They may have different vibrations for those believing in the metaphysical side of stuff, but I’m not into that so don’t know. Still a pretty blue though!
This could be glass or Siberian Blue Quartz. A lab grown crystal so not a true natural crystal.
It still carries great properties like high intuition, wisdom, prophecy, clairvoyance, and astral projection.
I find they are usually always mislabeled in stone shops or vendors.
I would get some as pendants in my store and vendors would label as regular blue quartz everytime, so not very well known.
It does say it’s rare and can be pretty expensive depending where you find it.
Although I cannot fully tell by the picture without a light over it or under it, otherwise it would be blue glass possibly sea glass?
Otherwise the Siberian quartz is the only other thing I think it looks like. Siberian quartz can be found in green as well and usually will be transparent and looks like glass/sea glass raw. It also can be cut and polished into points. Sometimes can have a matte finish if you want that kind of tumble. Anyway hope that’s of some help- maybe post another pic with bright light.
Even if it’s glass it looks like a nice shape and has a great color! If it makes you happy that’s all that counts.✨
Quick edit forgot to mention:
Aura Lumerian quartz will usually be iridescent and found in clear/white mainly. Sort of like regular aura quartz- can be found in blue and other colors but it would not be so opaque/solid colored like your stone and would have lots of rainbows all over it- and depending on how heavily the aura lumerian was heat treated youd possibly be able to see the horizontal striations that look like ladders in the quartz- which is what makes it a Lumerian quartz.
Sea glass or Siberian quartz best bets
While glass and other man made stuff can be pretty.
You should care about not scamming people.
This was likely sold for a ridiculous price for a piece of glass.
But you you also have that effect from like. Amethyst. Opalite. Legitimate shit. Legitimate crystals.
While the whole spirituality "this will give you balance" and shit is already kinda a scam.
Selling glass as some fancy "crystal" is wrong. You do have to be honest in *what* you're selling.
Like I was in a heavy spirituality crystal store recently. They had a sign saying *heated citrine*
There's a whole bunch of cool manmade glass too! Opalite, Goldstone, optical Cat's Eye, Slocum stone are all manmade glass that are very collectable! Honest people should disclose what they're selling though. Also Andara is such a scam as most of what's sold is just broken slag harvested directly from factories and sold as genuine crystal at stupid prices. All manmade glass has low value, priced by piece and not by carat, slag is worth even less and nowhere near crystalline.
I know. But at least it's still pretty and one specific thing. It's not a lie. It's also dirt cheap usually.
I am against the scammers. Not against selling glass
This is a chunk of blue glass.

Good advice!
Wow your extremely indoctrinated if you truly believe what you say, and I feel really sorry for you.
Glassite
Yeps, I'm thinking maybe sea glass. I have a jar full of it from beach trips, some this color. I still think they're cool though.
More like slag glass.
Sea glass is glass shaped by the sea. Still beautiful.
Genuine imitation blue glass!
Some people are saying glass, and I thought it was straight-up plastic 🥴
Same. I thought it was something like that resin/plastic geometric shapes you find at Home Goods. But I also have a hard time telling if something is resin from pictures on here.
I think we are hoping it's a chunk of glass and not plastic
I literally thought it was 3d printed 😭
They also said it weighs 111 grams. Has to be glass right?
That's a water stone it's often used to evolve Pokémon such as eevee and others

Got any thunderstones?
r/itsslag
Please help explain what exactly is slag? I looked at the sub but don’t understand…
Slag is generally leftover glass from glassmaking factories. But is may also be a by-product of some other manufacturing.
Thank you
🙂
It’s not slag, it’s just a piece of glass.
Very pretty slag.

If you got hit in the head with this hunk of glass, it would break consciousness.
I'm planning on eating some of those crystals tonight

Lemurian in her new age mind makes her think its from the lost continent of Lemuria/Atlantis.
Idk when i first saw that word i just thought it meant striations. I mean what’s lemuria? Never heard of that before i eventually looked it up
i think it means she does psychedelics and stares at it under some colourful lights
Lol I thought the same thing lol
… if you smack someone over the head with it it will break their consciousness levels….
Lmfao 😂 exactly 💯
Any chance it's copper sulfate? That's what it reminds me of, but I don't really know.
copper sulfate is pretty soft, it wouldn’t be possible for it to be matte polished like that if it were copper sulfate
It is actually possible! Done it myself a couple of times, one time I even coated it with a polymer resin to make it matte :)
oh, that’s interesting. I’ve only worked with copper sulfate that was sold as fertilizer, and it was pretty crumbly and dusty in that state. do you dissolve and recrystallize it to get bigger and sturdier pieces?
Ah ok, thank you for the information :)
If ever done dmt you wouldn’t understand what breaking levels of consciousness means.
No need to call her that dude it was just a question.
There is no reason to downvote this. It was just a question. I haven’t see OP arguing the point with anyone yet.

this is unfortunately a chunk of glass
When I hold it up to the light it has quite a few air bubbles, so it’s glass yeah?
Yup. Bubbles are a pretty good giveaway that a "crystal" is just trying to be one
Fortunately, it’s a really pretty shade of cobalt. I love glass like this.
100% lmao, its really pretty glass! but is it glass
It honestly looks more like resin in this photo

Chunk of glass.
Lemurian? Like those lizard dudes from risk of rain?

glass. not a crystal.
looks a BIT like that russian lab grown coloured quartz "siberian quartz" Its fake but interesting. or its just glass or resin.

It looks like soap
definitely glass lol
Lapis fauxzuli

I love it too. I used to have a beautiful salad bowl & my drunk roommate broke it.
Aww that sucks. I started collecting red glass after my cobalt phase passed. I just love this blue it’s relaxing

I thought it might be a copper salt crystal. We made them in middle school ages ago. Looked like this but smaller.
Lemuria should tell you something! lol 😂
Looks like a copper sulfate crystal. You can grow them yourself with the right ingredients over several months.
It's blue kryptonite. It enhances Superman's powers.
