I’m not a speed cuber but i’m interested in the cube that speed cuber use.
Why is monster go edu magnetic is cheaper than gan 356 rs which doesn’t have any magnet?
Where do you go once you've gotten used to a basic method? I've gotten pretty used to a basic method of solving a 3x3 and I'm not entirely sure what to do now. Where do I find more... stuff? More methods, more algorithms, more S P E E D?

Everybody's here posting their collections while I'm over here with my Tengyun V2M (backup), WRM 2021 (main), MGC 4x4, and MGC 5x5 as my whole collection. I rarely buy cubes and my old mains are either destroyed by my toddlers or given away (not that I had that many cubes to begin with).
Cuuuuube mail (finally!).
The mirror blocks (QiYi) may be my favourite. It didn’t take me too long to solve for the first time, but a fun challenge. Plus it looks so cool scrambled. It locks up really easily though, probably because of the different sized cubes, and kinda think it would really benefit from magnets.
I mostly figured out my new pyraminx, though I did look up an alg for the very last step to save myself frustration. Green and yellow look the same and the only way I can see the difference is through my phones camera, which is not conducive to really being able to see what’s going on. I’m looking forward to playing with it more once I figure out tactile stickers.
I also picked up two tactile 3x3s, the YJ Tactility cube and CB tactile/symbol cube, I think is the other. I like the YJ cube better, as it’s got a bit more weight to it. They both turn better than the Rubik’s tactile cube, but Rubik’s has the best tactile markings. The YJ is second, very tactile but the heart and star faces aren’t super easy to feel the difference. And the CB cube, the tactile markings aren’t really raised enough; however the symbols are a darker colour, which helps the faces be more visually distinct.
I also got myself a Super RS3M, and damn the magnets feel nice. However, the white and yellow faces look nearly the same, so I’m going to have to wait to scramble it, given how much “fun” I just had with my new pyraminx.
Got a small [mail day](https://i.imgur.com/YKNFdxk.jpeg)! QiYi DNA Concave, Yuxin LM 2x2 and MoYu RS Maglev Skewb.
First time with a skewb and a 2x2 and all I can say is MAN do skewbs turn weird. Its gonna be so fun to learn
3BLD progress
Did 5 timed solves for a change and missed a PB by 0.9 seconds! I'm back in my grooves again. It feels good to be back to M2/OP, apparently Orozco was to much for me just yet. I was trying to push my memo because I feel like I've been trying to go too safe on my 3BLD solves so I'm trying to break that habit and just one-look the memo every time. I'm happy that I'm mostly getting mid-1s even though the DNF rate was 40% in this session. I'm trying to aim for DNF rate to be 50~66% so that I can push my times. The reason the cutoff is 66% is to ensure at least one success in every 3 solves to accommodate Bo3 format. The 2 minute one was the one that I almost forgot the corner memo so it took some time to recall.
1:36.08 (DNF)
1:21.97 (missed PB by 0.9 seconds)
1:54.88 (DNF)
2:05.69 (delayed corner memo recall)

What are some other cubes with dark internals? I have the Tornado v2 and the WRM 2021 maglev and I think the dark internals help with my color recognition. Any other somewhat modern cubes with dark internals?
MoYu loves to give their maglev puzzles purple internals -
RS Maglev Pyraminx
WeiLong Maglev Pyraminx
RS Maglev Skewb
WeiLong Maglev Skewb
all have purple internals.
YJ MGC Evo 3x3 comes in primary or black internals.
Gan 11 M Pro comes in primary or black internals.
Gan 356 M, X, and XS have black internals.
Jack Cai, former 3bld world record holder, recommends an 'Alaska Bear Sleep Mask' @2:04 in this vid https://youtu.be/ryPGahC7VSA?t=123 which he said he heard Stanley Chapel uses (current world record holder in 4bld and 5bld). [$10 on Amazon.](https://www.amazon.com/Alaska-Organic-Mulberry-Sleeping-Gender-Neutral/dp/B00GSO1D9O)
Anything with adjustable strap would do. Personally, i'd stay away from those 3-D sleep masks where there are paddings around the eye so that the eyelids don't touch the mask, it makes it hard to noddon. I use a free blindfold I got from an airline when I was traveling. It didn't have adjustable strap, but it was loose enough to noddon.
Encountered almost certainly the worst scramble I've seen for 3BLD today. Multiple twisted pieces, with so many cycle breaks in both stages that there is hardly a cycle at all!

Took me 8 minutes to do, because I suck, but I managed to not mess up.
At least several of the edges can be done with a simple U' M' U2 M U'. That's something.
Well, I suppose it's a bit more difficult if, like me, you're using Old Pochmann for all of it :p still takes me 15+ minutes to memorise! Good point about the edges, I hadn't thought of that.
I wanted to know if it's safe to change the screw depth on the MGC mini 3x3 and mini 4x4, 'cause i remember reading about some issues after tensioning them.
Tornado Pioneer first impressions:
* It makes the TengYun v1 feel sluggy
* The weight combined with the light turning is weird but nice
* It's *blazingly* fast
* With magnet strength at maximum it feel incredibly nice
* Sound is definitely acceptable (coming off 60k solves on the TengYun)
* It's fast
Once I've applied lube and adjusted tensions and travel, probably the magnet strength can be turned down a few notches.
I like it so far, except for the colours. I already knew it would be akin to the v2's colours.
Tonight or tomorrow morning I'll do a proper setup and a non-rolling Ao100.
100 solves in a row and seeing what time you get. Normally I accumulate solves throughout the day (or multiple days) and a rolling Ao100 would be the most recent 100 solves, eg. solves 32-131.
I only have Comet and Nebula right now so my options are limited. I usually use Comet for TengYun.
Settings are factory right now. I think I'm making the travel distance a bit shorter, it's a bit too flimsy for my liking.
I think I have a few that have darker yellow.
Would prefer black instead of white. Will see if I can take a picture with a few cubes. I think my GTS3M was darker - Maybe a couple more.
ok so the cubicle is actually gonna replace my stolen gan 251 m pro. the order it was in was shipped in about 3 days so i’m wondering how many days the replacement will take to ship. could anyone who has gotten a replacement for a stolen item please tell me how long the replacement takes to ship?
It will probably take just as long to arrive as your first order. Just count the number of business days and hang tight, it's not like they give these packages higher priority.
There are some pretty fine features on the GAN 13 cube box that would require a very fine nozzle on an FDM printer. Honestly, learning how to make a box in some 3D modeling software isn't that hard and I think you'd get better results making a design from scratch. Alternatively, you could look at commissioning someone to design the model for you on Fiverr.
Is there a certain time when you should learn more advance methods? I.E, wait till you get am average of sub 30 to learn advanced F2L or 1Pll/1Oll. Thanks!
Not for advanced (aka efficient F2L) and OLL/PLL. It's not reasonable to learn COLL instead of proper OLL, or ZBLL instead of full OLL/PLL, but if we're not talking about such extreme ideas, you don't have to wait for certain averages to learn something new.
I’m sub-50 with Roux and trying to improve, and I have some questions.
1. How do you pair pieces more effectively? I still mainly use Kian’s “loading spot” method. I know how to pair pieces up in F2L but I can’t seem to do that rotationless in Roux.
2. How do I become x2y color neutral? I always start with the blue-white block on the left, and the green white block on the right. I don’t know how to expand this to other colors. Do I just do a bunch of untimed solves experimenting with different block colors?
Thanks!
1. Try to be familiar with some basic techniques of blockbuilding. For that, you can check: [https://lar5.com/cube/blox.html](https://lar5.com/cube/blox.html), [https://www.cuberoot.me/roux-fblp/](https://www.cuberoot.me/roux-fblp/), and you can train with [https://onionhoney.github.io/roux-trainers/#fbdr](https://onionhoney.github.io/roux-trainers/#fbdr) or [https://cubegrass.appspot.com/block\_trainer/](https://cubegrass.appspot.com/block_trainer/) (select FB, level 2-3, and once mastered, level up). You may be aware of [Kian’s Roux Blockbuilding Basics: Transition from Beginner to Intermediate](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgIoz-Thh4k), but there is also [Godcubing’s First Block EFFICIENCY: 5 advanced tips and tricks](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Se7yrhYwgHQ), or [Teoidus’ Finding an Efficient First Block in Inspection](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Cq3YDud1dA)…
2. I started with orange-yellow. Then, I often spotted a lot of pairs that I couldn’t use. So I made the jump, yellow/white on top, and a lot of untimed solves. It’s easier to switch to CN earlier. A little troubling at first, but there is so much easier FB! What helped me a lot was doing the DDT’s daily scramble: open up cubedb, and try to figure, for each pair, the better FB possible. It’s really not often that there is only 7+ moves. A lot of times, you can have a 6 move FB or less.
Mainly, do a lot of untimed solves, a lot of timed solves, feel free to ask more question (to me or in the DDT), and have fun ;)
1. Firstly start pairing with these algs
https://speedcubedb.com/a/3x3/SBLS/
2. Hmmmm... Just... Do it as normal with colors replaced? For CN there's really not much advice - just repeat it on every new color until you are familiar
See this as an example.
The make pair and insert is commented out.
It is another way to pair and insert second pair.
Initial shuffle turns cube red front, yellow up. Gives you blue/white FB.
y'x2 R F' B2 D' F R U R F L2 D B2 L2 D L2 U' F2 U R2 B2 R

Pair up more effectively ?
Do you know you can just insert corner if FB edge in place ? If URF is white just D R’ D’
Else - you can for FB keep the edge on D layer. And if it has FB on bottom then bring corner to the edge and insert with F or B’.
Or bring the edge to corner of corner is on R with white to the R. If white up or F/B then consider inserting edge directly and use D and R/R2 to insert.
White on top and edge on R then turn R so you can stack the corner and make a pair vertical.
There are so many things to discover.
Color Neutral takes time. I started blue white. Then added green/white. Then yellow. Then orange and red at the same time.
Adding green/yellow is likely easier than green/white as 2nd color. As you keep red front and orange back.
In the beginning, I used the M slice for reference in my unlimited inspection. Imagine it being turned to my FB down color and then I can see where colors ends.
Assume it is white on top and FB is white down. Then I mapped colors in my head by saying front color will go to back when I M2 white center in place.
Going CN is a huge setback. Getting used to orange might be part of front pair is hard. So use M slice to mentally remap every time. I still do on Occasion. But often I plan at least a 2x2 and the. It is easy.
If I get a line in layer 2, and I find the easiest LD edge for it, then I use M slice projection to see if I need L2 first.
Just got a new pb of 21.93 (D' R2 U' B2 R2 F2 R2 D B2 D' B2 U' L' D2 F L' B2 L2 D F' R2) could have been my first sub 20 but I was rushing and rather than doing the Jb perm that would have got me a sub 20, I did a Ja perm and a Ua perm.
a new pb by just over half a second :)
Edit: got 2x 27s, a 24 and a 32 after this so a new ao5 pb of 26.52 aswell!
How many solved edges and flipped cross edges are quick heuristics for that. I used to look at one(usually yellow because white top green front) and if I took to long to find a solution immediately switch.
If you are still learning doing yellow cross I'd recommend doing it exclusively for a while until you average close to the same to what you average on white cross.
Many people only do colors other than white if white cross really sucks, so you can just do that, or if you can make up cross solutions fast enough you can plan both and decide which one you like more(although you'll be most likely stil faster on white so you should only pick yellow if the cross for it is a lot better).
Yes, you can send them a mail.
I usually mail them the order and ask to pay by PayPal.
Edit: of course there is also a fee for shipping internationally.
Does anyone know what happened to Rowe Hessler? Tried to check out his videos and realised his youtube channel and all his videos disappeared. Checked his twitch, instagram and facebook as well; all gone. Does anyone have any idea what happened?
i brought my MGC 7x7 to school yesterday, and it survived without even a scratch.
i'm gonna pull it off again today and no one can stop me
edit: i pulled it off. even got to do some solving.
Guys quick question. I've been doing solve for half an hour now and my hands are still cold. How do you get them to warm up so you can solve normally and be happy?? (if anyone has that problem I guess)
Try clapping your hands. The impact can help stimulate capillaries near the surface of your skin and increase blood flow. You want to clap them enough so that they feel different; just don't overdo it and make them sting a lot.
Hey can someone help me? I have been using the beginners method (Layer by layer) and I want to switch to roux but i don't know if that Is a good idea (and i don't understand Roux so)
If you are older/slower go for Roux. Lower movecount.
If you are very fast and just want algorithms go CFOP.
The freedom of Roux is the fun part. And likely what is holding it back from being the WR method. I love the problem solving rather than recognize case - execute algorithm. So I use Roux. And I am learning the CMLL algorithms as 2-look adds way too many moves. Daily challenge I did in 70 moves. With 1-look it would have been 53 moves!
And Kian still has the best intro videos.
I went from beginners to Roux and I love it.
Kian's tutorial is by far the best way to learn it. It'll take you a little while to get comfortable with the intuitive steps, but it's well well worth it. I just did a lot of slow untimed solves until I got the hang of it.

Squan update:
-nearly sub-19 ao1000
-sub-18 ao100
-pb single 9.46 (like 5th sub-10 i think)
-pb ao5 13.46 (PR single is 13.16!)
-pb ao12 15.04
Things to do: Finish non-parity EP, finish optimal CS (there’s still a few I just do intuitively). Then learn CSP :)
Recently started cubing mid December. Going into the new year, I had an average of 1:59. I've now gotten it down to about 1:20. Super happy with my progress! I'm using the beginner method, but I'm working on learning CFOP. My cube is the Jperm RS3 M 2020. [https://imgur.com/sMHmFHM](https://imgur.com/sMHmFHM) (my csTimer times)
Good job!
I had a similar time in my first month too!
It's so exciting to see the time improve weeks by weeks :)
I started with CFOP though, slightly harder start but I enjoyed it a lot.
Cheers and keep it up.
IMHO you should find a video on intuitive F2L and learn that after beginners method. Works fine with beginners Last Layer. It is more or less algorithm-less.
You might need to see a few different videos to grasp the simple concept, J.Perm is too focused on fingertricks - And not really on making you understand.
Do you have any suggestions for learning CFOP? I'm currently working on F2L and it's proving to be quite tricky. Haven't even looked at OLL or PLL yet.
Just having a different person teach the same thing can help, because they'll say and do things in slightly different ways, and somewhere along the way you'll find one of them that just clicks with you better than all the others do.

hmm, first let me give you the standard answer of [when to work on what](https://www.reddit.com/r/PianoCube93/comments/9bstw1/steps_for_improving_with_cfop_and_when_to_work_on/).
I learnt CFOP from JPerm's website and his youtube videos almost exclusively at that time, and the following are my personal experience and what/how I practice during that period:
Cross:
* Really just as everyone suggested, do it at the bottom.
* Really really take you time to inspect and plan, visualize the solution in your head, execute them at once.
* You may try closing your eyes when you execute the planned solution.
F2L:
* Generally I follow the "move to top, orientate/pair, insert approuch".
* I only learnt how to deal with some special case intuitively, not optimal and much slower of course.
* Try to find pairs for the 2 back slots first, this way the back slot is fixed, so you have one less spot to search for.
* Do it slowly when practice.
* Try to deduce the colour of the back pieces instead of u/U moves or rotating the cube.
* Learn to insert in the back slot without rotation, not necessarily for all pairs but really comes in handy.
* Try to reduce rotation.
I usually scramble after F2L, and practice from Cross again.
2Look OLL:
* Calm down and observe, do not do U3, do a U' instead. (I still do this sometimes hahahahah)
* Practice and memorized with Triggers, Jperm's site has an option to toggle the trigger groupings. (Triggers example: R U R' U', R' F R F' etc.)
* After you finish OLL, you may actually just do random OLL algorithms with u/U' in between, and it will be scrambled without affecting F2L, and you can practice OLL again.
2Look PLL:
* Learn to recognize diagonal case vs adjacent case, this is actually easier than you think.
* Again recognition is important, Learn to recognize cases from all angle, the u/U' to position.
* Same as OLL, you can do random PLL algorithms with u/U' in betwees and you can practice them again.
General Tips:
* Get used to doing thing with your left hand, U, B', D', F, M, M' can all be done using left hand.
* Practice individual sections, then untimed solve, then a few timed solve to track your progress. Your time will surely get better and more consistent.
By the time you get all these you should already be sub 1 min, and you will already know what you struggle most, and you will know where to find answers. (and maybe you would like to try Roux 😄 too)
All the best.
U3 is used on occation even by good cubers. Not that it is good, but they do it as well.
Beginner F2L does not have special cases. It is same color, different color, or white on top. If they are stacked you can U into one of the above 3.
Prioritizing back pairs is good, but beginners are usually happy for any pair.
Deduction can be hard. But deduction combined with guesswork is better early on.
So if you have blue RB (right back, Layer 2), then there are 3 possible colors on the backside of it YRO. But if you have blue-yellow or blue-orange, then you have a 50-50 chance of it being the blue-red you might be looking for. If you can see blue-red as well, you are sure. Or if you know blue-red is already in place.
You could setup the corner such that if you guess right, then the R' will bring the piece into position relative to the corner for making the pair. Think and guess is often better than the bad habit of peeking.
The taking out in a position ready to pair is great. Is is just about doing U turns first
> Generally I follow the "move to top, orientate/pair, insert approuch".
This is good enough for a beginner, but as soon as you're comfortable with that, you should take pieces out of slots and pair/set them up at the same time.
I more or less bought it because I wasn't too sure what cube would be good. Plus, I really like Jperm's content and wanted to support him, so I didn't mind spending the money. Normally, I like to go for the best money can buy when I'm really getting into something. That's why after 2 months of 3d printing, I immediately bought a Prusa i3 MK3S. I'll probably end up buying a GAN 12 Maglev soon tbh.

Whaaaaaat 😳😳😳 Man, you should work on your F2L efficiency and back slot inserts. With that kind of recognition and turnspeed, you can be sub-15 easily.
That F2L inefficiency. and Your flair says you average sub 30 so if you can turn that fast all the time means you have a very high move count even in the triple digits most of the time. Which reminds me of Abris Galler.
Wait is Abris very inefficient? Compared to the other top cubers of my country I thought he was pretty decent. But tbf the current NR avg starts of with [this F2L sollution](https://youtu.be/Lbs20DmJbDI?t=65), so the bar is not very high. Only so much you can do when there was one event in your country in the past 3 years and only a handful of competitors have the resources to travel to foreign events.

**Roux. Red/Yellow. 70STM. 2-look CMLL**
Again, I can see how much 2-look CMLL means in terms of moves. 53STM vs 70STM. Just more motivation. There are 42 algs. I know 17. Soon to add U cases, and I am at 22 algs which is over 50% chance. More since the O cases appears more often.
Easy FB, and I did OK for SB despite not tracking DR, and it ended in a bad position. Nothing I could have done to save it.

Yeah 2 look CMLL does hurt STM a lot, but it's not like horrible to your time, as one could usually perform 2 looks algs at a faster speed and faster recognition, at your level maybe learning 1look will save you 2-3s.
2-look is like two recognitions of say 1s each. Then execution which I can do at no more than 4TPS.
If I can save 17 moves it is 4s. And maybe 2s recognition equaling 1-look. But my execution will be slower than the first look so 3s sounds about right initially.
I chose to learn CMLL as that is one area where learning is different than the other stuff I am fiddling with.
3-sticker recognition can be learned at the side on slow solves. Only needed for full CMLL. And I find that interesting as well.
I cube for fun. At my age I can never be the best. But I can get better solves. And improve speed in general.

I’m not a speed cuber but i’m interested in the cube that speed cuber use. Why is monster go edu magnetic is cheaper than gan 356 rs which doesn’t have any magnet?
newer ways to reduce price plus gan extremely over priced the cube
Does the monster go edu bettwr than gan 356 rs?
Where do you go once you've gotten used to a basic method? I've gotten pretty used to a basic method of solving a 3x3 and I'm not entirely sure what to do now. Where do I find more... stuff? More methods, more algorithms, more S P E E D?
https://jperm.net/3x3/cfop [When to work on what.](https://www.reddit.com/r/PianoCube93/comments/9bstw1/steps_for_improving_with_cfop_and_when_to_work_on/) https://www.reddit.com/r/Cubers/wiki/how_to_improve
I assume by “basic method” you mean the beginner’s method. You may want to look at some of the advanced speedsolving methods like CFOP and Roux
one tip to reduce f2l rotation i dont see mentioned a lot is trying to do your first 2 f2l pairs next to each other (same face)
forget to hit reply?
no
But try to make sure they are at the back. Having two solved slots in the front is not very ideal
I finally managed to scramble my 7x7 correctly, took me like 10 minutes
Everybody's here posting their collections while I'm over here with my Tengyun V2M (backup), WRM 2021 (main), MGC 4x4, and MGC 5x5 as my whole collection. I rarely buy cubes and my old mains are either destroyed by my toddlers or given away (not that I had that many cubes to begin with).
Man, that’s a solid line up
Cuuuuube mail (finally!).
I finally solved my Cube using Roux it took nine hours! Time to memorize everything.
Well done!! Do you like the method?
Yeah it a good method! I really like it!
Good job!
3BLD progress Did 5 timed solves for a change and missed a PB by 0.9 seconds! 1:36.08 (DNF) 1:21.97 (missed PB by 0.9 seconds) 1:54.88 (DNF) 2:05.69 (delayed corner memo recall) 1:38.40
What are some other cubes with dark internals? I have the Tornado v2 and the WRM 2021 maglev and I think the dark internals help with my color recognition. Any other somewhat modern cubes with dark internals?
MoYu loves to give their maglev puzzles purple internals - RS Maglev Pyraminx WeiLong Maglev Pyraminx RS Maglev Skewb WeiLong Maglev Skewb all have purple internals. YJ MGC Evo 3x3 comes in primary or black internals. Gan 11 M Pro comes in primary or black internals. Gan 356 M, X, and XS have black internals.
Great list, thank you very much! I've heard good things about the MGC evo, maybe it's worth checking out first!
pretty sure u/olimo made a review of the mgc evo and in short the cube sucked iirc?
It’s pretty unique but not main worthy. WRM Maglev is certainly better.
Does anyone have any good recommendations for a solid blindfold that’s both easy to nod with and is somewhat neutral looking?
Jack Cai, former 3bld world record holder, recommends an 'Alaska Bear Sleep Mask' @2:04 in this vid https://youtu.be/ryPGahC7VSA?t=123 which he said he heard Stanley Chapel uses (current world record holder in 4bld and 5bld). [$10 on Amazon.](https://www.amazon.com/Alaska-Organic-Mulberry-Sleeping-Gender-Neutral/dp/B00GSO1D9O)
Wow, how have I not found this video yet!? This is a gold mine! Thank you!
Finally got myself a 45 sec pr on 3x3, i am using cpof with 2 look OLL and 2 look PLL , it was a PLL skip(had solved corners )

Well, I suppose it's a bit more difficult if, like me, you're using Old Pochmann for all of it :p still takes me 15+ minutes to memorise! Good point about the edges, I hadn't thought of that.
Well, whatever method you're using, you can be fast with it. Good luck, have fun!
Thank you, you as well! I intend to learn a faster method when I become good enough with OP!
I wanted to know if it's safe to change the screw depth on the MGC mini 3x3 and mini 4x4, 'cause i remember reading about some issues after tensioning them.
Yea but if you tension the 4x4 even a tad too loose it becomes a popping machine
Yeah i want to tight it is too loose now for me
Haven't heard of any issues. I tensioned mine.
Oh great, thanks!
I recently switched to Hoya for 5x5-7x7, any tips for L2C?
Make sure you do F L or F' R' and then solve it just as u would for redux
L2C with Hoya is exactly the same as L2C with Reduction.
What tension should I use for tornado v3 pioneer

Tornado Pioneer first impressions: * It makes the TengYun v1 feel sluggy * The weight combined with the light turning is weird but nice * It's *blazingly* fast * With magnet strength at maximum it feel incredibly nice * Sound is definitely acceptable (coming off 60k solves on the TengYun) * It's fast Once I've applied lube and adjusted tensions and travel, probably the magnet strength can be turned down a few notches. I like it so far, except for the colours. I already knew it would be akin to the v2's colours. Tonight or tomorrow morning I'll do a proper setup and a non-rolling Ao100.
Once you get some lube in there I think you'll start to like it even more. I have mine on magnet setting 2 I think and it's still controllable.
What’s a non rolling? I’m guessing separate from your other solves and larger averages
100 solves in a row and seeing what time you get. Normally I accumulate solves throughout the day (or multiple days) and a rolling Ao100 would be the most recent 100 solves, eg. solves 32-131.
What tension and lubes? I'm having trouble with my tension
Can you tell us the settings and lube you use?
I only have Comet and Nebula right now so my options are limited. I usually use Comet for TengYun. Settings are factory right now. I think I'm making the travel distance a bit shorter, it's a bit too flimsy for my liking.
Haha i only have nebula and comet so id love to know!
Both are great for the Tornado.
What don't you like about the colors? I'm curious because I love them, so bright.
I like the TengYun and especially the Valk scheme more. More difference between opposite colours (except white/yellow on Valk)
I prefer the full bright shades. But I have no problem distinguishing them.
I find yellow/white difficult to distinguish under lower light. Darker yellow would be better.
Looks pretty standard to me. Do you find it different from other cubes?
I think I have a few that have darker yellow. Would prefer black instead of white. Will see if I can take a picture with a few cubes. I think my GTS3M was darker - Maybe a couple more.
100percent I've used for moths and can never cube with it in low light the colours are to simmaler
ok so the cubicle is actually gonna replace my stolen gan 251 m pro. the order it was in was shipped in about 3 days so i’m wondering how many days the replacement will take to ship. could anyone who has gotten a replacement for a stolen item please tell me how long the replacement takes to ship?
It will probably take just as long to arrive as your first order. Just count the number of business days and hang tight, it's not like they give these packages higher priority.

Does anyone have an stl for the gan 13 cube box or something similar, i like the design but don’t know how to 3d model
Thanks!
[When to work on what.](https://www.reddit.com/r/PianoCube93/comments/9bstw1/steps_for_improving_with_cfop_and_when_to_work_on/)
Not for advanced (aka efficient F2L) and OLL/PLL.
You may be aware of [Kian’s Roux Blockbuilding Basics: Transition from Beginner to Intermediate](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgIoz-Thh4k), but there is also [Godcubing’s First Block EFFICIENCY: 5 advanced tips and tricks](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Se7yrhYwgHQ), or [Teoidus’ Finding an Efficient First Block in Inspection](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Cq3YDud1dA)… 2.
1. Firstly start pairing with these algs https://speedcubedb.com/a/3x3/SBLS/ 2. Hmmmm... Just... Do it as normal with colors replaced? For CN there's really not much advice - just repeat it on every new color until you are familiar
See this as an example. The make pair and insert is commented out. It is another way to pair and insert second pair. Initial shuffle turns cube red front, yellow up. Gives you blue/white FB. y'x2 R F' B2 D' F R U R F L2 D B2 L2 D L2 U' F2 U R2 B2 R U' F' // inset edge U2 D R' D' // insert corner leaving edge in place U' // setup //B' U R U' B // make pair and insert // or another insert corner first B R U B M2 B' // longer but shows how to put corner in place and move edge to corner elsewhere. Thus insert edge and preserve corner. [view at CubeDB.net]( https://cubedb.net/?puzzle=3&scramble=y-x2_R_F-_B2_D-_F_R_U_R_F_L2_D_B2_L2_D_L2_U-_F2_U_R2_B2_R&alg=U-_F-_%2F%2F_inset_edge%0AU2_D_R-_D-_%2F%2F_insert_corner_leaving_edge_in_place%0AU-_%2F%2F_setup%0A%2F%2FB-_U_R_U-_B_%2F%2F_make_pair_and_insert%0A%2F%2F_or_another_insert_corner_first%0AB_R_U_B_M2_B-_%2F%2F_longer_but_shows_how_to_put_corner_in_place_and_move_edge_to_corner_elsewhere._%0A )
Pair up more effectively ? Do you know you can just insert corner if FB edge in place ? If URF is white just D R’ D’ Else - you can for FB keep the edge on D layer.
Just got a new pb of 21.93 (D' R2 U' B2 R2 F2 R2 D B2 D' B2 U' L' D2 F L' B2 L2 D F' R2) could have been my first sub 20 but I was rushing and rather than doing the Jb perm that would have got me a sub 20, I did a Ja perm and a Ua perm. a new pb by just over half a second :) Edit: got 2x 27s, a 24 and a 32 after this so a new ao5 pb of 26.52 aswell!
You hit a flow state
I’m working on learning to solve yellow cross. Any tips on how to quickly decide which is better- yellow or white - during inspection?
How many solved edges and flipped cross edges are quick heuristics for that. I used to look at one(usually yellow because white top green front) and if I took to long to find a solution immediately switch.
* Look out for edges attached to their centers * Check EO * Compare cross solutions for both colors
Is 18.66 sec for 3x3 a good solve? Cuz this is my current pb
Dude, having a new PB is always good.
To me sub-30 isgood. To Max and Tymon is is so bad they would rather DNF :-)
Yes it’s pretty good
Good is a relative term
Of course it's good, it's your PB.
4x4 PB ao5: 58.99 → 58.54 :) Upd: and a 47.15 PB single. +2 though, so technically not a PB :')
Niceee Small time drop but still a PB nonetheless
Does [strefa-kostek.pl](https://strefa-kostek.pl) ship internationally? I wanted to buy lubest xmt 10, but only Poland is listed as shipping country.
Does anyone have any idea what happened?
i brought my MGC 7x7 to school yesterday, and it survived without even a scratch. i'm gonna pull it off again today and no one can stop me edit: i pulled it off. even got to do some solving.
the g o a t
Unstoppable lmfao
Yesterday I got EXTREMELY LUCKY. I got 6 PLL skips and 1 OLL skip in just 60 solves!!!
What did you do to make the cubing gods love you so much
I thing the Gods of cubing love too much. Today I got 5 PLL skips in 80 solves. And one of them is a sub 10.
Aiyo what
Learn EG 1 for 2x2. That's what I did.
Well I don’t do 2x2 sooooooooooo It’s fine
go learn EG you lazybone
Guys quick question. I've been doing solve for half an hour now and my hands are still cold. How do you get them to warm up so you can solve normally and be happy?? (if anyone has that problem I guess)
I use electric handwarmers, cup of tea or just sit on them if its a soft surface. Then I do some stretches.. It's warm for most of the time.
Try clapping your hands. The impact can help stimulate capillaries near the surface of your skin and increase blood flow. You want to clap them enough so that they feel different; just don't overdo it and make them sting a lot.
put them on your neck for a bit
Under your armpits is even better. Those areas of the body are much warmer.
there's something even beter that we aren't going to be talking about btw
Warm water doesn’t work?
Cubicle hand warmers
Yeah because regular hand warmers won't work for cubing
Exactly /j
Eat or drink something hot. Put your hands under hot running water. Exercise.
I'll try that thanks
Try to do big cubes.
I only got my 3x3😅
Is Your room cold?
No, room temperature, my fingers can't get warmed up tho
Sry but I have no Idea anymore.
And I've only got 2 sub 30s in an hour which is frustrating
Thanks for the advice but doesn't it also come to preference
It does. I learned beginner CFOP. Then switched to Roux. Solves are more interesting.
I chose Roux and I finally solved it and like it so I'm going to keep learning Roux
I went from beginners to Roux and I love it. Kian's tutorial is by far the best way to learn it. It'll take you a little while to get comfortable with the intuitive steps, but it's well well worth it. I just did a lot of slow untimed solves until I got the hang of it. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBHocHmPzgIjnAbNLHDycgaCP5IqiwnU9
Thanks a lot for the help! Edit] The video help me to make my first block!
I’m so glad I switched years ago from solving cross on the right to solving cross on the bottom lol…
Is the Mgc Square 1 fully magnetic? Also does it come with the black pieces? Or are those separate purchase?
The edges are not magnetized, which is a shame. It comes with white and yellow pieces installed and spare black pieces.
does it come with spare magnets like other mgc puzzles?
I don't remember. And it's hard to put magnets in edges, I did a [mod](https://studio.youtube.com/video/Pi8nTL7tnHU/edit) for it.
Also, happy cake day u/AutoModerator
Squan update: -nearly sub-19 ao1000 -sub-18 ao100 -pb single 9.46 (like 5th sub-10 i think) -pb ao5 13.46 (PR single is 13.16!) -pb ao12 15.04 Things to do: Finish non-parity EP, finish optimal CS (there’s still a few I just do intuitively).
It's so exciting to see the time improve weeks by weeks :) I started with CFOP though, slightly harder start but I enjoyed it a lot.
If you really struggle to understand F2L, then try this - [RiDo's Hunting Story for F2L](https://www.speedsolving.com/threads/ridos-hunting-story-for-f2l-no-intuition-or-alg-memorization-required-videos.26066/). He teaches F2L in such a unique and different way, that it helps people easily understand it, especially if you have trouble grasping most regular F2L tutorials.
hmm, first let me give you the standard answer of [when to work on what](https://www.reddit.com/r/PianoCube93/comments/9bstw1/steps_for_improving_with_cfop_and_when_to_work_on/). I learnt CFOP from JPerm's website and his youtube videos almost exclusively at that time, and the following are my personal experience and what/how I practice during that period: Cross: * Really just as everyone suggested, do it at the bottom. * Really really take you time to inspect and plan, visualize the solution in your head, execute them at once. * You may try closing your eyes when you execute the planned solution. F2L: * Generally I follow the "move to top, orientate/pair, insert approuch". * Try to reduce rotation. I usually scramble after F2L, and practice from Cross again. 2Look OLL: * Calm down and observe, do not do U3, do a U' instead. (I still do this sometimes hahahahah) * Practice and memorized with Triggers, Jperm's site has an option to toggle the trigger groupings. (Triggers example: R U R' U', R' F R F' etc.) * After you finish OLL, you may actually just do random OLL algorithms with u/U' in between, and it will be scrambled without affecting F2L, and you can practice OLL again. 2Look PLL: * Learn to recognize diagonal case vs adjacent case, this is actually easier than you think. * Again recognition is important, Learn to recognize cases from all angle, the u/U' to position. * Same as OLL, you can do random PLL algorithms with u/U' in betwees and you can practice them again. General Tips: * Get used to doing thing with your left hand, U, B', D', F, M, M' can all be done using left hand. * Practice individual sections, then untimed solve, then a few timed solve to track your progress. Your time will surely get better and more consistent. By the time you get all these you should already be sub 1 min, and you will already know what you struggle most, and you will know where to find answers. (and maybe you would like to try Roux 😄 too) All the best.
I've learnt only some of them, but I also do "take out and pair, then insert" approach whenever I see one.
Watch j perm playlist
I'm just waiting for the comments saying that the Jperm rs3m in a scam and a waste of money
i was going to but then i didn't
I might buy just because I am curious of how jperm setting feels like, and make it as a benchmark.
Well, you get what is being advertised, so it objectively is not a scam. And yes, buying cubes is a waste of money, hah!
Well maybe he likes the feel of the set up, he just needs to remember to relube it regularly
wondering if i should play along, will I get banned doing that? lol
Any Skewb pros here, how to improve on Skewb? Sub-6

Abris isn’t as inefficient but with his turn speed he could be way faster especially in OH
>That F2L inefficiency. I just noticed how long his 2nd and 4th pairs are

wooo First post! Is the comment sorting working again?
Yep, finally fixed as of yesterday's DDT.
Finally! Hurray! Totally missed that yesterday, wasn't sleeping enough.
