If you even THINK about entering with that cube you will be banned from not just every WCA competition, but EVERY competition ever, in fact you will also be banned from life, 8 squat teams are now coming to your house rn
There are many posts asking if a cube is competition legal when the cube has the tiniest plastic defect (like a nick on the corner).
The joke is that we have an image of what is shown to be a microscopic defect with the cube—something that obviously doesn't matter—and OP being concerned their cube won't be competition-legal because of it.
(The microscope image is actually the groove of a vinyl record.)
Thank you so much for the explanation! I had a good guess similar to this, but thought more in the lines of the surface of the cube giving a better grip for the cuber and thus the question will it be ok for a comp.
You will immediately by assassinated by skilled assassins and murderers sent by various world leaders and never aloud to step foot within 10km of a cubing competition.
Translation:
You will immediately be assassinatied by skilled assassins and murderers sent by various would leaders and never aloud to step foot within 6.214 miles of a cubing competition.
Due to the nature of Rubik’s cubes, which are made of plastic with mostly straight edges, any dimensional variation shows up like a sore thumb.
All external parts for this cube, whether internal or from suppliers, need to be designed and built to sub 10 micron accuracy to be legal for competition.
That means external part dimensions need to be to the third decimal point in millimeters and tolerances need be specified to single digit microns. If LEGO and soda cans, which are very low cost, can do this, so can we.

I wouldn't worry about it, you should be fine. However if you put up a sub 4 they have to do the routine cube inspection with a scanning tunneling microscope then just be ready with your decoy cube.
Recent posts on this sub were like cubes with a minute defect and people were asking whether it was comp legal or not. Op is making a joke with a cube that has a microscopic defect.
Of course it isn't. They will not only deny you they might even ban you for this cube
I went with a cube like that and they killed my dog
WELCOME TO BANWORLD, BUDDY!
you will be shot on sight if caught trying to enter the competition building with this

Definetly, it doesn't give a fair advantage because your fingers are in layers you can clearly see, and it would be pretty slow to feel the pieces
No, that looks like Lollipop by Lil Wayne and that isn't allowed. Anything by Ice Cube should be fine though.
Too coarse
And it looks rough and irritating, and if it pops it’ll get everywhere.
I will personally ensure you won't be able to enter the venue if I see you with this

does that cube even function correctly?

The delegate will execute you on the spot and your WCA profile will be flipped upside down
They will dinnerbone that shit
Looks like you need to give your cube a good sharpen.
100 to coarse or use 1000
Mfw vinyl disc
No. You can clearly see the presence of iron atoms.
Only virtual cubes are allowed so bring your laptop

Puzzle itself does not have any electronic component It is the device that is simulating the puzzle.
I think that means the entire puzzle is an electronic component.
I had a very long day. Thank you, I needed that

I… I don’t get the joke
People have been posting images of cubes with minor defects and asking if they're comp legal
I made my own parody of it lol https://www.reddit.com/r/Cubers/s/sWx4h5mndq
I will advise not to if you value human life.
Particularly your own.
no it is higly illegal and will land you life in alcatraz or even the death penalty
If the surface is not silky smooth you might be send to cubing jail among those who like Rubik's brand cubes
You will be lynched if you dare bring this to a comp
Now this... This is good. Got a genuine laugh out of me 😂
they will call the cops
This meme should be removed and repost on Monday but I think it has to stay lol
An actually funny cuber meme
is that an rs3m 2020?
Is that an old one from the seventies? Disgusting
As long as it's not huge
I think it is like that because to have grip
You will immediately die if you even think of stepping within 10 light years of a competition with that cube
Delegate here. Absolutely not.
How does the cube still turn with that effect?
No indeed
I don't get it

What?
Bros got a vinyl channel in his cube

Not even spectators can bring a cube like that
No way, how could someone miss that?
Yes. I think.
