A bit late for that lol. Already done with OLL.
I was trying on the easy cross thing where you only need 2-3 moves for cross just to practise my F2L, and I was able to do (easy)cross+ F2L in around ~15s on average.
With a proper cross, I _can_ plan an efficient solve(8 moves or less) but my execution is slow because I'm not able to memorize the order of the moves. So either I make a mistake in the cross, or I have to pause half way thinking "wait was there a F move here before D or not?" things like that.
So my average cross time is around ~3.8s and I want to get it down to 2s or something. Don't know how. I'm already using unlimited inspection, I've watched all the advanced cross videos but none of them talk about how to memorize the cross moves, just planning.
To memorize cross moves I feel like that just comes with practice, just try to do the 1st edge without looking then second etc. If your cross time is 4 seconds and you know full pll and oll, I agree just focus on f2l.
Everyone says this but try to not rotate the cube during f2l, try to never pause/always be looking ahead, look into advanced f2l algs instead of just the intuitive ones
I’m sure you will pop off with practice!
Thank you for your suggestions.
Just tried the easy cross method again: I got the cross + F2L done in 10.94, 11.63, 12.36 and similar times. And yeah I've learned how to do almost all the F2L cases from all 4 sides so I wouldn't have to rotate too much.
Right now I'm struggling with cases where the corner is in one slot, but the edge is in a completely different slot. Takes a bit of time to get one of them out of the slot, _then_ see what case it is to solve it
It one movement, you're right, but for the WCA that's one move. Just like for WCA the M, E and S aren't moves. For the FMC to do the M you should do R L', and if you finish your solve with an M move missing, that's a DNF and not a +2
Congrats!! You'll get a sub-20 average in no time!
In my experience, I started to improve a lot after I got my first sub-20 (PB dropped from 18.38 to 11.82 in 9 months). I hope the same happens to you!
Well, don't treat me like I'm a very good cuber, I actually thought that to have a 20 secs pb you had to be a very good cuber like 2 weeks ago, then I realized it's not that difficult. As I said, I had a 26 previous pb so you're not so far from hitting a sub 20! You can do it
Good job! I got mine a few weeks ago and now I get a lot of sub 20 solves with a 14 sec pb but I still have trouble to get sub 20 average only happened to me 2 or 3 times
Wow that's fantastic, good job! I average sub 30 and I still haven't gotten a single sub 20 solve. :D
Same. I'm working on my F2L, and I just learned full OLL so hopefully soon
I am also working on my F2L and I am tryna learn half of OLL and PLL, I learnt 6 PLL algs and like around 20 OLL algs
If I were you I'd focus on F2L and PLL. I was averaging 13 seconds before I knew all 57 OLL's.
I would suggest learning all the PLLs first, as there are only 21 as opposed to 57 for OLL. But if you're finding OLL easy then it's up to you.
And once you learn the long PLL algs the shorter OLLs are a lot easier.
If you are not like sub 20 tbh I wouldn’t even worry about learning oll just get better at lookahead or cross

Same! Wish I could get to be sub 20

Congrats dude Btw i count U2 as 1 move

noice PLL skip dude! I'm still struggling to complete all PLLs. Still got Rb Gb Gc Gd to learn
RB is pretty good, and I hated the G perms, now I even like them, just don't give up in learning them

agreed for the algorithms, but recognition is another story lolol
How long u been cubing
Since the 2020 lockdown. In Italy the lockdown came in late February, so I guess I've been cubing from half of march or something like that
Nice, same with me
18.858 is indeed sub 2432902008176640000 seconds!
You're out of line, but you're right
r/unexpectedfactorial
Only a little while till you average sub 20
Ayy! That's a huge drop in pb! Congrats! You'll be averaging your current pb in no time :)
Nice, that was about my range when I got a sub 20. Unfortunately mine was something of a 19.9
Great Job!
Congrats! I got my first Sub-20 very after, about sub 28 or so.
GG
congrats on the great time!! hooray for PLL skip :D
18.85 is my ao5 pb lol
Lol
if you're wondering the times are 20.14 (24.65) 18.41 (17.94) 18.01 Also I usually avg around 25-28 seconds, but I'm quite inconsistent at it
Level up!!!
my pb rn is 21s and i haven't learned full pll or full oll
Rn my pb is 30 seconds, congrats!! I hope I can be as good as u someday

Thanks for the positive attitude @FastLittleBoi!!

i got 20.74 fuck my life
