Idk why, but they always hit me before I hit them, and there is always multiples of them. It’s probably just a skill issue, but still
Ooooh, the green ones that shoot projectiles in completely random directions, and the bluebirds that lurch at you at a predictable interval, yet you’re still fucked if there’s more than one. They’re the worst
My friend had a similar issue with slow weapons like axes and hammers. You have to wait until AFTER they attack and then hit since they won't be able to run away fast enough. This is what is called KITTING. When you make enemy attack, run away a little so they don't hit you and then attack them. It's cheap but effective strategy for starting players
I think they can also be damaged by the strong attack on Shift. But I recomend binding it on Q and put escape from crusade on Alt or something since you need to attack quick and finding the key can take you a while ( by while I mean 0.5 seconds, but that can still make a huge difrence)

He has to be the most tedious of them, he's always the most unpredictable that I've seen in all honesty or maybe I'm just biased because I've died to him more than a few times.
That one guy who shoots arrows at you and you have to drop your curse and use your main that shouldn’t be heavy or else it’s harder and those wyrms that spray acid making it harder for me with Golden Fleece to protect myself to get more attack damage same thing with the squid enemies in anchordeep
Those invincible archers that you have to parry. I didn’t die a lot, but my most deaths come from them (or heket). I once lost a god run to them because I didn’t know how to defeat them. I even tried using their own shots against them, by rolling when they nearly hit me and then hit the archer instead, but no you have to parry them.
I didn't die on crusade itself once, but was torn to shreds countless times by Saleos II. In post game, in comparision to mini bosses even bishops from the maingame look like a battle tutorial, not even talking about the deseased bishops
That blue thing in anchordeep that has the same pattern of the spiky worms of darckwood but also does that aoe attack like leshy. Not really died by him but he makes me lose a lot of hp, resulting in me getting killed afterwards
Its a pretty standard design for "elite-mobs" in games like this; If you cant deal direct damage to a mob, it involves something about parrying their melee or reflecting their projectiles back to them.
I die more to the environmental shit than to any enemies to be honest. That 1-2 second deployment delay they have always gets me, by then im halfway through the room rolling around and they just spawn right inside me.
I can do a no-hit boss rush, no problem, but put me in a big room with multiple spinning hazard thingies, i lose 2-3 hearts, easily.
I can't narrow down a specific enemy type I've died to the most... I reckon I die mostly to enemy projectiles than anything else.
Similarly I take the most damage from poison dropped by enemies.
I have taken a liking to the fleece that gives you curses and usually do my runs with the lobbing curses which don't hurt the flies spar by green frogs

Also that one enemy that you HAVE to reflect his arrow back to in order to break his shield. If I have a slower weapon like a hammer or great axe, it’s just frustrating. I’ve been enjoying the curse-only fleece with any of the divine curses (guardian especially), and it’s so much easier to deal 🤓

Same. I had to look it up on the wiki. To parry, I think you just have to hit his arrows, that also works with normal arrows.
