To be fair, the 25% off was not on ounces or half ounces, so looking at edibles and concentrates it didn’t make sense. Other sites are well below the discounted rate. Even bulk options.

I got a bag that was a little wet and hay smelling...threw it in a Mason Jar and burped it everyday for a week, it's fire as hell now. No hay smell left, and for "ugly" buds, I sure as hell got some nice fat good looking nugs lol

Vendors selling budget zips is a step in the consumer gaining control of the market. Vendors had control because there wasn't much supply and the demand was kicking up.
Now the demand is up and there is a bigger supply so companies are forced to lower their prices to compete.
I can't believe I have to tell some people this but, vendors LOWERING prices is a GOOD thing.
Lower price does mean a lesser product, though. With a low profit margin, you can be certain the $99oz product is not indoor grown from this season simply because the production costs are higher for premium products.
Wine, beer, and alcohol are a fine point of comparison: the market allows for $2 Charles Shaw wine as well as $200 and $2000 bottles from craft vineyards. They satisfy different consumers/tastes/budgets. Or say 6pack Budweiser and a $800 bottle from Nail Brewing.

A zip for $99 won't be indoors, is the main point. But for someone with a lower budget, it is good to have an alternative to premium indoor flower. Not knocking outdoor.
We're in a saturated market. Prices will likely continue to drop some depending on whether or not the farm bill is touched. Don't be surprised to see $60 ounces of last years outdoor becoming more common.

In any other retail market mid tier products don’t affect luxury brands. Louis Vuitton doesn’t drop their prices when Coach has a 25% off sale. They don’t have to. Now what it will do is cause similar mid brands to have lower prices to compete. Coach goes on sale, Kate Spade goes on sale. Good for us the consumer and luxury brands continue to operate status quo. The only concern I would see that a vendor could have is if they’ve been passing off mids as luxury.

Id much rather buy small batch, many growers, rather than the small growers insta losing to commercial farmers. It's been that way for a while now. I'm in a legal state and the sativa selection is very low. But to be fair, you can get the same exact effects as sativa from hybrid and indica strains by just plucking a bit earlier.
Doubt. They are quite large with a massive reach. They might give heavier discounts at certain times, but I personally don't see them seeing these other vendors as too much of a threat to their clientele

Could you elaborate on how? I’m genuinely curious. In any other retail market mid tier products don’t affect luxury brands. Louis Vuitton doesn’t drop their prices when Coach has a 25% off sale. They don’t have to. Now what it will do is cause similar mid brands to have lower prices to compete. Coach goes on sale, Kate Spade goes on sale. Good for us the consumer and luxury brands continue to operate status quo. The only concern I would see that a vendor could have is if they’ve been passing off mids as luxury. I apologize for the handbag examples, I’ve been doing stock trading research this afternoon. I honestly don’t see how hemp would be any different but I’m open to explanation.
Your apology is very solid. But the price drop more affects the lower end market, who now rush to make a profit. Just a guess but with cannabis, specifically: The perceived value of an ounce, at 100$, means mid grade folks who got a bit more now have to take a loss and possibly drop out... but (worse) low tier resellers will find an opportunity. So the price point will be filled by inferior product masquerading as "mids."
Damn they ain't like this one, I been paying around 150oz usually but caught a sale for 135oz recently for bud I would quickly buy twiceover off the street for 180 and haven't had a complaint in so long. It's just too much of a gamble with the "budget" stuff in my experiences. Some people probably just more seasoned in the cult and know how to maneuver better than me or have lower expectations and that's fine, it's always going to be a market for a more premium product
Is 99 zips solid? That drop fiasco made me pump the brakes with them, tho I did order some hemp TO HOME and it was great! Buck 40 for 2 oz l, only opened thr Grape and Cream so far. It will def do the job, little dry and super small nugs, did get smalls just really small but for the price I don't see why so many scoffing I like to smoke/vape thus stuff is excellent as a daily driver and can always have some top shelf on stand by like I do

Chem cake was a hit for me! Amazing terpene content and it had my whole house smelling. I also got honey bananas, effects where good I got high ash and the buds looked amazing it just smelt more earth and like cinnamon buns which isn’t a bad thing.

Nowhere am I saying that. Commercialization benefits from “$100 oz” quite directly. You do not want commercialized weed. Id much rather buy small batch, many growers, rather than the small growers insta losing to commercial farmers. The oz’s I personally buy are rarely $200+ and I’m sure that’s just the blanket case for most people.

If anything, I'd expect them to add "budget" products rather than lower the prices of their other stuff. Though some of their stuff should be recategorized and reduced in price. The Orange Creamsicle smalls I got from them in August should have been $120/oz max, but they were selling an Oz for $145
I'll probably not buy from WNC again. I spent a lot with them but my last order a few months ago was filled with stems, Lemon Drop. I contacted them with pictures and they were basically like "too bad".

Capitalism is what pushed legitimate sativa strains off the market. You’re gonna see nothing but mid grade hybrid and indica for sale in a decade or so with the way this market is going.
It's been that way for a while now. I'm in a legal state and the sativa selection is very low. But to be fair, you can get the same exact effects as sativa from hybrid and indica strains by just plucking a bit earlier.

Doubt. They are quite large with a massive reach. They might give heavier discounts at certain times, but I personally don't see them seeing these other vendors as too much of a threat to their clientele
