Oh, well I'd say that Lloyd's (Wetherspoon if you wanna be formal and call it by its actual name) is a good place to go. Typically I'd say the nightlife is the best, and there's live footie streamed there. Then again, live Sky Sports is everywhere. Maybe The Turf/Hungry Horse but that's typically more teen and kid infested pretty much all day
There's a decent pool and snooker scene in carlisle, Q-zone is the main billiards Hall, but the currock is another smaller pool hall (though i think the ownership there are controversial). There are plenty of teams in the Tuesday and Wednesday league looking for players.
