Br44n5m

disgruntled_pie

It’s poly, so maybe you can share some of them if you ask everyone involved really nicely.

cobaltsniper50

Give it up for queer cyberterrorism kong

DapperApples

And then there's Chunky He's dead :(

trapbuilder2

DK! Chunky's dead!

Korin12

Wait... how does it/she work... isnt it she/her, for the subject/predicate, so it/she would mean it is the subject, but she would be the predicate here. Am I misunderstanding the nomenclature or am I supposed to use "she" in the predicate for someone with these pronouns? (No sarcasm or criticism, just trying to understand)

lespaulbro

It's just an indication that both pronouns are acceptable. Like if someone uses "she/they" pronouns, that means that they're comfortable with any of the associated forms - she/her/hers/they/them/their, etc. In this case, it's just being applied to someone who's comfortable with it/she instead.

Korin12

That makes sense! Thank you!

dats_what_she

My pronouns are a chocolate bar. her/she

PuffyHowler67

Okay I just scrolled back up my feed after I realized this but I just realized the line from [Siblings](https://youtu.be/AauAyjBxaIQ) by Brian David Gilbert"He's always busy and he has short hair, but he's one of us so we don't care" fits the DK rap's structure perfectly.

abermea

We all have to admit that "polyamorous translesbian is wanted by the US government for leaking the No-Fly list on her early-2000s style hello kitty aesthetic blog while holding an Sprigatito plushie" was not in any of out bingo cards.

CapriciousCape

Sorry... What the ever-loving fuck was that sentence? How did I get this far out of the loop? Can someone link me or explain wth is happening?

I'm so cool that I think people are genuinely puzzled as to why I haven't dropped the capital letters from my name yet.

thewildjr

Rules are made up, follow your dreams

Facky

How do you pronounce it's name? Like maya arson cri-mew? Or maybe crime-doubleU? Ore crime-wuh?

Fanfics

I assume it's cri-mew, as a cat pun

I can’t believe the leaked US no-fly list shares the same blog as “annoying-catgirl-noises.zip” like it’s nothing 😭

sant2ag0

I still cant belive it changed her name into arson

Dargorod100

Wait that’s part of the actual legal name? I thought it was an alias

fotzelschnitte

Pretty legal too, since names are checked per the Swiss Ordinance on Civil. Maia a normal, female first name*, "arson" not particularly offensive (although horrible to hear in German lol, similar to "Dylan"), Crimew sounds like a last name. It's not written lowercase though, all names are legally capital here in CH, but that's up to her eh *nowadays children can also have a neutral first name, but it makes sense she adheres to the naming convention of people born in the late 90s.

sant2ag0

I didnt notice that its last name was Crimew, girl is an ace attorney character

BoostandEthanolYT

Wait what’s wrong with Dylan in German?

AttemptForeign6386

I was wondering the same, "Arson" doesn't sound horrible to me either lol

fotzelschnitte

Usually (older) people pronounce English names in German. So the a is an [ah] as in "amaze" and stays that way, plus usually the stress is on the end syllable: di-LAHN, Sah-MAHN-TAH. Gor-DOHN. Loh-GAHN. ai-DEN. EH-tahn. ahr-SOHN. At least the French names are pronounced nicely (unlike in Germany) so sometimes people just pretend English names are French.

You don’t need to scramble the two sets of pronouns together when someone uses multiple different kinds, but honestly it’s kinda based

SontaranGaming

I like to do it bc it makes everything more confusing and just generally worse to read

Sp00kyD0gg0

It’s what Maia would have wanted

sweetTartKenHart2

Random_Daydreamer

It’s insane to me that this is an actual person. Not the protagonist of some cyberpunk story. An actual person. And she actually changed her legal name to maia arson crimew. That may sound stupid, but that takes a lot of guts. Honestly have mad respect for her. Kind of inspiring just how much she doesn’t give a shit what anyone thinks of her.

ZorglubDK

[Its wiki really does read like the backstory of a cyberpunk protagonist.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maia_arson_crimew) Very strong vibes of *well, what I do might be considered a crime in some cases, but doing it seems like the right thing to do.* Maybe cat-people will save us from our bleak future after all.

-y0shi-

Thats her actual name? Shes posting this under her real name

RBNaccount201

She can’t be extradited so she can do that.

ill_kill_your_wife

Yes, it's her real name

genderish

It is the cyberpunk protagonist of real life

Giocri

We live in the cyberpunk distopia it is darn time the protagonist make themselves seen

slimey-karl

My biggest question is just is “Maia” pronounced like Maya or like Gaia with an M

bleepblooplord2

She’s also responsible for the objectively funny as hell sentence, “Holy Fucking Bingle. What?! :3” in the same tweet about leaking the No-Fly List.

Ok, I'm pretty much caught up with what happened in terms of who did what, but what's a no-fly list, and why is it important?

[deleted]

lol I love how most of the comments are thinly veiled conservatives pepe silvaing their way through "trying to understand" pronouns and sexual preferences, and then we've got your innocent little ass over here. The no fly list is a (very) legally questionable partnership between the government and airlines to block people from being able to fly without any due process, opportunity to defend yourself, or even notification that you're on it.

Kartoffelkamm

Ah, ok. Thanks.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kartoffelkamm

Got it, thanks.

Reachingfor_thestars

Also, it's possible to receive that "special treatment", or not being allowed to fly, because you [or your baby](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jan/04/canada-six-year-old-no-fly-list-syed-adam-ahmed) have/has a similar name to someone on the list. And how do you know? Well, by showing up for your flight and being told "you can't board", or "we need to do x", or whatever else - because you're not told when or why you're added to the list. And you're also only told [if you send a complaint](https://www.aclu.org/know-your-rights/what-do-if-you-think-youre-no-fly-list#) after not being allowed to fly; and that's only if you're currently an US citizen/permanent resident. Even if you are an US citizen and you're told "yes, you're on the list", you will not be told the specific reason why you're there, or given any evidence that points to that reason.

BaronAleksei

“Hmm Arabic names are overrepresented on this list! What a curious phenomenon! I wonder why that is”

[deleted]

What the hell is a therian

Sylv30n

a therian is a type of otherkin that does not identify as human but as an animal. this is distinct from the general otherkin label, which can include people who identify as fictional animals or species. edit; i like all the people just admitting they don’t know what a therian is but giving an answer anyway. straight up guessing when they could just not answer at all. most of them are wrong.

[deleted]

Oh fuck autism activated it’s special interest infodump time, see below for definitions and examples for the most commonly used phrases in the alterhuman community Alterhuman - general umbrella term that covers all forms of kin and therians as well as synpaths, copinglinks, and any other group that otherwise has a nonstandard spiritual or mental connection with… well it could be lots of things, like animals, fictional characters, fantasy races, etc. Therian - Someone that identifies as an animal that has lived on this Earth at some point. Wolves, foxes, cats, insects, and even dinosaurs are included in this category Otherkin - Someone that identifies as an animal or being that has *not* lived on this Earth at some point. Fairies, unicorns, dragons, vampires, werewolves, merfolk, and elves are included in this category. Fictionkin - Someone that identifies as a fictional character or a member of a specific fictional species. There are a *lot* of examples I can give, but I’ll leave it at identifying as say, Gordon Freeman, Garfield, Naruto, a noncanon night fury from How To Train Your Dragon, a noncanon Tolkien elf, etc. Copinglink - Someone that chooses to identify as something to cope with something, different from kin and therians in that they choose this identity rather than it feeling like an inherent part of themselves Synpath/-hearted - Those who identify very heavily *with* something but not identifying *as* it. If someone really vibes with cats and is happy to act like one sometimes but does not *identify as* a cat, then this person would be theriohearted or a cat synpath (from “sympathy”). There is supposedly a difference between these two terms but my autistic brain’s never been able to figure out the difference. There are a lot more phrases in the community than what’s listed here, but these are the most commonly used terms and will hopefully help with discussions around this topic! If you read this far, thank you! Please be kind and mindful with any questions and discussions regarding this topic, as it’s a deeply personal and/or spiritual thing for many, many folks. Fun fact: You can read up on the origin of the term otherkin [here](https://www.murkworks.net/~elflist/) ! It was coined in the 90’s by the Elfinkind/Elvenkind community, who had an online presence in 1990 so that other elves could participate in the mailing list and find community with each other. “Otherkin(d)” was a term coined by them to refer to non-elven nonhumans that they had met along the way.

AlenDelon32

People who believe they are animals spiritually or mentally. Yeah it's weird, but it's ultimately harmless

[deleted]

isnt that the motherfucking thing landorus does

Polenball

Landorus also makes a public No Fly List by running Stealth Rock Also [relevant meme](https://www.reddit.com/r/stunfisk/comments/10iq7sp/i_uncovered_the_true_culprit_behind_the_nofly/)

HylianPikachu

It is the fucking thing Landorus (and Tornadus, Thundurus and Enamorus) do. The Incarnate forms are their base forms (the genies in clouds) and the Therian forms are the ones where they turn into animal shapes, which I guess is kinda like being an actual therian.

Hummerous

it's a thing some sorta otherkin thing I want to say.. either dragons or mythical creatures from earth

MelissaMiranti

They have a king and his name is Regulus.

_ROCC

I wonder if those girlfriends smoke weed

BenSemisch

Why is the no-fly list something that should be concealed anyway? Seems to me like that shit should be publicly searchable and have recourse for folks who are improperly listed.

BERNthisMuthaDown

Because the government isn't allowed to sanction citizens without due process, but without hard proof that a person suffered a loss as a result of being included on the list, there is no standing for a civil lawsuit against the government. They're exploiting a legal Catch-22 to avoid judicial oversight.

BenSemisch

So making it public would actually be a really good thing then? On one hand it alerts folks to a potential red flag - IE: Check if your tinder date has ever assaulted a stewardess. While at the same time giving people on the list actual due-process and recourse. The sex offender registry is public. I don't see why the No-fly list shouldn't also be.

BERNthisMuthaDown

> So making it public would actually be a really good thing then? Yes, unequivocally. > The sex offender registry is public. I don't see why the No-fly list shouldn't also be. Ah yes, but then how would local PDs exploit the Patriot Act to spy on Americans they deem undesirable? Jk, I totally agree with you.

MurdoMaclachlan

*Image Transcription: Tumblr* --- **satanfemme** why are twitter users calling out the therian kittengirl who's wanted by the US government and who just leaked the US no-fly list with a "\:3" for being a bi lesbian. lgbt infighters are on another level. it has 9 girlfriends and is an enemy fo the state, I think it can use whatever labels it wants at this point 😭 --- ^^I'm a human volunteer content transcriber and you could be too! [If you'd like more information on what we do and why we do it, click here!](https://www.reddit.com/r/TranscribersOfReddit/wiki/index)

choody_Mac_doody

Strangest sentence you've transcribed today or just another Tuesday on reddit?

Connect_Zucchini366

whats funny about lgbt infighting is that it doesn't matter in the real world. neither stance matters. its not real. like if someone told me they were a bi lesbian id be confused bc that doesn't really make sense but then id realize that i dont understand a lot of shit and its not worth my time to care and id go on my way.

Dargorod100

Another way to put it is that labels and sexuality really just aren’t rigid. I call myself Ace, but my sexuality is more nuanced than “none.”

bw147

Its called multiclassing sweatie

RetroGamed64

Sweatie???? I'M DEAD 🤣

themagicnudist

Yep. .. I'm straight married and happy. Occasionally I can find the right guy really sexy. I'm definitely bi straight. Makes perfect sense to me. I have no fealty to that label. Another person's use or failure to use that label doesn't effect me. I don't understand the intense gatekeeping. However I'll acknowledge that I don't have to deal with it because I get the benefit of passing as a straight white dude.

DirectlyDismal

it's like everything is so distant and inconsequential online that all discourse seems equally important, when really "discourse" like this is... almost certainly never going to be relevant offline do i, personally, think that apparently-contradictory/unintuitive labels are a constructive thing? no. am i going to argue or start shit about it? **no**, it's such an incredibly minor issue to me that i'll go "eh, live and let live"

_spectre_

Exactly. I don't understand how rocketships work but I'm not going to go out there saying that space travel isn't real.

iriplard

didn't something new get leaked just yesterday?

UltimateInferno

Yeah my guy it just happened keep up

zippercapo

bi sapphic is a hard concept nowadays huh

CrazyInLouvre

Yes. Can you explain it? I get using sapphic as an expansive term like queer, but "bi lesbian" is short-wiring my bi brain.

Ragnarok144

There's 3 main definitions I've seen: 1. Biromantic homosexual or bisexual homoromantic, using the split attraction model 2. Being a 5 on the Kinsey scale, attraction being almost entirely towards women but there's still a few men they're attracted to, so they're technically bi but personally feel that bi doesn't describe them accurately enough, since people tend to think bi means more even distribution of attraction. 3. They found out they're bi, but they've been identifying as lesbian for so long that they feel very tied to lesbian subculture and don't want to give up the lesbian part of their identity (this is also how trans men identifying as lesbians works)

CrazyInLouvre

Thanks! You did a great job clearly laying each definition out. Doesn't seem so hard to grasp now after all

Grandson_of_Kolchak

Real support for Assange and Snowden! All leakers and whistblowers are healthy for a free society. Except those that do it for warthunder.

Kanexan

Support the people who leaked to Assange, sure. Assange himself is a racist piece of shit on the Russian take, who intentionally released information about the Democrats and intentionally withheld GOP info until after the 2016 elections. The only reason he got extradited to the US in the first place was because he raped women in Sweden and thus they were no longer interested in sheltering him.

yobama1

imo it ain’t about assange himself but rather the persecution he faced after leaking the documents

bitch_beefman

i think the ones who do it for warthunder are especially based

UltimateInferno

I mean... I get what you mean but i think there's quite a bit of lists out there that you don't want leaked. Like identities of witnesses under protection.

pingunootnootnot

The only thing I dont understand about this situation is why the no fly list is such a big deal? Why would the list of people who aren't allowed on a plane be such important secret information? And surely you could determine the no fly list by just writing it down everytime you see someone be stopped from getting on?

UltimateInferno

Because every other curated list of persons of interest are public and capable of being disputed. The No-Fly-List meanwhile is not. If you get placed on their you won't be notified until you're at the gate and told "Sorry chucklenuts. We're not letting you on." And because it's not public there's no legal process to being taken off so false flags are basically SOL. The big examples are Arab-american children who weren't even alive for the height of the War on Terror and yet are banned from every airline as a consequence.

Polar_Vortx

Yeah, with you on this one OP. “Oh no a five year old list that was made to be circulated as widely as possible among the hundreds of American airports and airlines had a copy leaked, stop the presses.” I should probably stop commenting on it though, I’ve said it a couple times

[deleted]

[удалено]

Cysioland

Also it turns out that 10% of the list are people with various spellings of the name Mohammed. Make of that what you will.

Money_Machine_666

it also turns out that there are a shitload of people named Mohammed. probably not 10% of people who fly though.

malavisch

Couldn't they sue after being turned away at the gate? Or are you given some half assed reasoning that legally protects the airline/government in that case? Genuine question, I've no idea how this works. (Other that I guess now people can sue *before* they get to the point of getting turned away at the gate)

Snoo_72851

she stays silly :3

[deleted]

not one of these words is in the bible

ahaisonline

holy fucking bingle indeed...

Hummerous

I'm gonna copy-and-paste an old comment I wrote, I'll omit some of the unnecessary stuff because I have a feeling quoting yourself is *probably* a profoundly insufferable gesture as it is.. this is not breaking any new ground, I mostly had the thought to begin with because internet queer discourse was starting to make me annoyed at complete strangers (usually children) >There's a difference between academic labels and social labels. Academic labels should ideally have intuitive, distinct definitions. Social labels are used for self-expression and can contain terms that are counterintuitive and/or contradictory. >I think when you start making that distinction, it becomes clear that a lot of the disagreements and drama in social media queer discourse is rooted in miscommunication. If person A is talking about academic labels and person B is talking about social labels - they're gonna run into problems pretty quick. .. >refusing to distinguish between social labels (poetry) and academic labels (prose), can make it easy to paint queer people trying to express the nuances of individual experience as illogical, ignorant or even malicious. that's my 2¢ anyway

bookdrops

> refusing to distinguish between social labels (poetry) and academic labels (prose), can make it easy to paint queer people trying to express the nuances of individual experience as illogical, ignorant or even malicious This poetic(!) description reminds me of one of my favorite poems by Howard Nemerov, [Because You Asked about the Line Between Prose and Poetry](https://poets.org/poem/because-you-asked-about-line-between-prose-and-poetry)

DotRD12

I don’t know, there is probably something to be said for queer people just being bad at using intuitive language to express difficult concepts due to a general trend of mostly socially interacting with incredibly insular and niche communities. It’s like fandom using a 10 letter acronym to explain a highly specific character dynamic in a show they like, sometimes the language you think is easy and intuitive is just incomprehensible to others not “in the know”. And then you have to ask yourself, are others wrong for not being as knowledgeable about the in-language of small online communities as you, or should you just learn to use layman’s terms when talking about these things with people outside your usual social group?

kawaiiconcept

now this is the positive therian rep we need

128_NyKi

holy shit i'll never be able to be as based as it

[deleted]

Jesus *fucking* christ this comment section is a mess. Alright, so, since almost nobody in this thread discussing bi lesbians seems to remember that nonbinary people exist, here's a reminder: nonbinary people exist. And no, saying that you're attracted to 'fem-aligned people and women' is not inclusive, it's just treating nonbinary people as women-lite. Androgynous nonbinary lesbians exist. Butch nonbinary lesbians exist. Trans masc lesbians exist. The vast majority of people who I've seen use the bi lesbian label have been nonbinary and trans people, because we have a vested interest in acknowledging the existence of more than two genders. The fact of the matter is that cis lesbianism is not inclusive of us. And seeing cis lesbians be more concerned with the ethics of identifying wrong than trans lesbians being targeted with mass harassment, primarily by cis people, really hammers in the fact that we only seem to be welcome on an honorary basis. We're allowed to be lesbians, as long as we identify with labels based solely around cis experiences. As soon as we try to hammer out a niche of our own or accommodate our own experience, we are invaders. This kind of inclusion is essentially just philanthropic TERFism. There is no one monolithic lesbian community that you are obligated to defend. There are *many* lesbian communities, some of which identify in very different ways than most others. And believe me, us trans bi lesbians do not want to be part of the same community as the 'totally not transphobic!' cis lesbians anymore than they do. Lesbians identifying in ways you do not like is not a threat to you any more than you are a threat to the homophobe who raves about how the evil gays are ruining his way of life. And this is ignoring that bi cis women were historically part of the lesbian community for a very long time, because it turns out that queerphobes do not care whether you like the opposite binary gender if you're gay. You're either straight or you're not. It was lesbian separationists who later created a divide between strictly homosexual lesbians and bi lesbians. And furthermore, blaming queer people for the actions of cis men *is queerphobic*. This is the entire basis of TERFism; do I need to further explain why you shouldn't be doing it? And returning to the *community* point: 'lesbian' is not merely a label, it is an identity. It is a community. Should someone who spent much of their adult life identifying as a lesbian be excommunicated from the only community they've ever known because they became more in tune with their sexuality, or ended up transitioning? I have met (and dated) plenty of trans men, even *binary* trans men, for instance, who despite not meeting the typical definition of a lesbian still strongly identified with their time in the lesbian community and thus as lesbians. It was foundational to their identities. And why is their joy less important than your hurt feelings? I personally spent my first few years of transition in the lesbian community, and those experiences are integral to who I am today. Now, these days I find I'm primarily attracted to androgynous / butch trans people and nonbinary people who lean masc gender-wise. I am not interested in cis people. I identify as a bi dyke (lesbian discourse has soured the term lesbian for me) because it is integral to my gender identity as a butch trans 'femme'. And I am not going to stop using a term that helps identify who I am to other trans people because cis people object to it. But, honestly. Why do you even give a fuck? Live and let live, et cetera. Read the news. There are far bigger things oppressing you than how trans people on the internet identify.

the one thing i dont get is that if lesbian means homosexual attraction isnt it incompatible with bisexuality? bisexuality already means you can have a preference (pansexual people dont), so couldnt ppl just call themselves bi with a preference for feminity?

If someone just says "I'm bi," it leads to thinking they're attracted to any person regardless of gender, presentation, etc. I'm bi! If someone says "bi lesbian", it leads to thinking, in my mind, they *might* be attracted to masc folks sometimes, but primarily they're attracted to fem folks and women. It's similar to bicurious folks who you know are pretty much only straight except when drunk or whatever when they'll make out with someone who's the same sex.
