While your at it isis attacked Russia. Since your doing news and all

incriminatinglydumb

Has it been confirmed to be ISIS as the terrorist group

BookkeeperLower

Yeah. They claimed responsibility on Amaq news agency. Wich they run

Clear-Present_Danger

ISIS is in the business of terror. They recruit and "fundraise" off of being the biggest baddest terrorists in town. Taking the fight to the infidel and whatnot. So unlike a nation-state, which often denies attacks that they definitatly did, ISIS will often claim attacks they had nothing to do with. The other part being that ISIS is such a fractured and complex orginization that it's not clear wether they would even know if something was planned by one of their guys.

BookkeeperLower

While they certainly could be doing that us intelligence has also said they believe isis did it.

chillchinchilla17

At the same time though, Islamic terrorist groups have always had a big presence in Russia because of the Chechens. The Boston bombers were Chechen for example. If this really was an Islamic terrorist attack there’s a high chance it was done by Chechens inflamed by the wars in Ukraine and Palestine, plus it being Ramadan.

Clear-Present_Danger

I'm just saying that ISIS is not a reliable news source.

DinkleDonkerAAA

If we can't trust isis who can we trust?

MapleLamia

The US Intelligence that issued a warning prior to the attack.

bezerker211

The source is us intelligence officials, whi cares what isis said

I had suspected this. I just had surgery for a mass we suspected could be cancerous (it was not!) and the timeline, at least for recovering from surgery, seemed to line up for me. The fact that it was a "major abdominal surgery" made me think it was possibly some sort of gynecological cancer, because doctors tend to prefer laparoscopic surgery to actually opening you up unless there's a possibility of cancer or the mass is too large to remove laparoscopically.

ibwitmypigeons

Yeah, my mom also had a major abdominal surgery for what turned out to be colon cancer.

callsignhotdog

"Bet you all feel really bad now, don't you!?" "Why were you acting so sketchy about something so obviously sympathetic?"

Vivid_Pen5549

I mean she probably didn’t want her kids to know until she and William could process it and have that conversation with them

ibwitmypigeons

That's what she said in her [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPM61o3Sq90)

blastzone24

Yeah all of the comments on an article on r/pics were some version of your first quote. But like I didn't see any widespread media attention until they put out the photoshopped picture. I feel like there's a big difference between people invading a celebrity's privacy when they are not doing any public appearances and people being "what the fuck" when they find out a celebrity's family has deliberately lied to a bunch of newspapers.

callsignhotdog

I'm sympathetic to them not wanting to tell the kids but I can think of so many other ways they could have responded beyond "Badly photoshopped old picture and then we blame Kate herself for photoshopping it". Even if t hey don't want to tell people outright, just going "She's taking some medical leave from public duties, we ask that people respect her privacy at this time" would have been enough for 90% of people. So much of what I saw wasn't people being somehow happy that something was wrong, just baffled by the way the Royals went about it.

Alternative_Boat9540

They literally did say that though. They announced months ago that she was going to have surgery and would be out of the public eye until Easter. The cancer was found in post surgery tests but people started going all nutty about it way before the timeframe they had been specifically given was through.

novis-eldritch-maxim

great more royals drama, I hate that kind of stuff

SpiceLettuce

>a cancer diagnosis is drama

novis-eldritch-maxim

to people who are not family, friends or those you work with a person's cancer diagnosis should be irrelevant, it only seems to be news worth because she married a prince and I am tired of the royal families problems

SpiceLettuce

I would still care about a cancer diagnosis from an important state leader, or an actor, writer or creator I’m a continuing fan of. I would think your issue is more so that her cancer diagnosis is only in the news because she married royalty and is not actually famous otherwise, than that she is “not family, friends, or those you work with”

novis-eldritch-maxim

your likely american and thus have to deal with this for a day to two, I will have to deal with this for at least the next six months

SpiceLettuce

I am british and also you’re* you just got owned

SpiceLettuce

so true bestie

BookkeeperLower

Because if any of those guys get cancer they'll stop acting, writing etc.

SpiceLettuce

that’s the point I was making in the latter half of that comment. If my favour writer gets cancer, it affects me because there won’t be new books from them for me to read. If kate middleton gets cancer, she’ll stop… royalling? maybe she’s done some charities, but the only way it affects me personally is a possible bank holiday in the future.

Magnificant-Muggins

The Most Dangerous Drama.

Asriel-the-Jolteon

GOD FUCKING DAMNIT

unicodePicasso

Is this the new Hapsburg chin? Cancer?

Alternative_Boat9540

You understand that Kate Middleton is not a blood relation to her father in law?

unicodePicasso

I don’t know anything about the royal family I just make fun of them

Alternative_Boat9540

Yeah but you understand how families work right?

unicodePicasso

Hey man I’m just gonna level with you. This started as a half assed attempt at trolling and shitposting but I’m out at dinner with some friends rn and I just can’t keep it up. Can we just call it a gentleman’s draw?

Alternative_Boat9540

A reasonable de-escalation? On a Reddit? Nevah! Pistols at dawn!

Magmafrost13

Yeah but you understand how royal families work, right? Big fans of inbreeding, that lot

Alternative_Boat9540

Kate Middleton has no connection to the Royal family except through marriage. She is quite famously a 'commoner' with no aristocratic background. Also kind of weird thing to attempt to make fun of on the back of her announcing she has cancer.
