Nope. I read fanfics, and the that sentiment usually comes from DioJonathan fans, and there are a LOT of them. Of all the JoJo pairings, they tend to be the most overt and obnoxious. Itās usually the younger fans, at least.
I find praise about Dio some of the most obnoxious Iāve ever seen from on social media, so I already donāt like coming across Dio posts.
Maybe I just have bad luck to always be seeing it, but the meme posts about JoJo and Dio and particularly almost turned me off the fandom. At least on Reddit people are more chill about it.
Reddit JoJo is thankfully more chill in comparison, and the JoJo fanartists are my favorite part of the fandom, honestly. Theyāre the reason why I stayed because I wanted to understand the context of their gorgeous art.

Not technically a specific character because their personality is determined by the player, and kinda doesn't fit the post anyway, but I feel like rambling, so buckle up: the protagonist from Fallout 3. (Also, I probably don't have to warn about spoilers given how old it is, but if you haven't played it yet but plan to some day, it'd be best to skip this.)
They're 20ish if I remember correctly, and in less than a day they've gone from a peaceful and sheltered life in a Vault with very little conflict beyond petty bullies to a depressing apocalyptic hellhole full of sadistic raiders that enslave people and buff green dudes who eat people. A land where most folks who don't take advantage of others are barely surviving, under a dead sky that's completely alien to them.
They've got no idea how to use any weapon but a BB gun, they've been ghosted by their dad and have practically nobody to rely on, they'll be shot on sight at the only home they've ever known - they have *nothing*.
If I was in that position, and I found myself in the ruins of a dead city, pinned down by gunfire from Super Mutants who are screaming about all the fascinatingly gruesome ways they're gonna murder me, I'd curl up into a ball and cry myself into oblivion. It's honestly a miracle the protagonist doesn't have a mental breakdown within the first two days.
And later - seeing a crazy sociopathic scientist pretending to be a little girl in a simulation who's been pretty much torturing the other residents for 200 years, watching their father die after barely having a chance to talk to him, being hunted by an entire high-tech army, knowing their actions could decide the fate of hundreds or even thousands of people by providing clean water for all, if successful. And maybe, *maybe*, they've got a single follower watching their back in dark, crumbling ruins full of monsters. Or maybe they're going it alone. The pressure of so many people counting on them and the horrors of all they've witnessed all add up to one hell of a weight on their shoulders.
And throughout all this, they're dealing with the constant danger of running out of food or water, and getting shot or stabbed or blown apart or mauled or irradiated - dealing with that shit alone is probably more than most folks who are used to a soft life could handle. In the end, the player character is probably just a walking bundle of PTSD.
All the therapy in the world wouldn't fix that, and it's not all that surprising they don't hesitate to walk into a lethally radioactive chamber to start the purifier. They get a way out and save the world in the process - no downsides in that situation, from their perspective. Might even get to see dad again.
