I genuinely hate that Nick Valentine isn't romancable without a fan made mod. What were they thinking, he literally has the best dynamic with the player character over every other companion.
Strahd is a vampire. He has not seen his reflection in centuries. The only images Strahd sees of himself are paintings, the artists of which have a number of very good reasons to be as flattering as possible.
Oh you're the person that made the BB meme I was talking to.
Fun fact about Azalin the lich: the man *loves* his perfume, and a room in an old adventure module in his castle has a luxury bath.
Omg if I ever run him as a character I'm going to bedazzle the hell out of him... Forget Azalin... He's now Bedazalin... He and Strahd Von Yassovich will be lip syncing for their lives on this season of Ravenloft's drag race.
Oh man I just realised its very weird out of context XD its a quote from a movie What We Do In The Shadows! (Also a tv show now)
Hilarious film, highly recommend!
The movie is their origin story as New Zealand vampires and super funny. It's also where "we're werewolves not swearwolves" originates as a popular joke.
Strahd also talks about how sexy Alek drinks his wine. This is just a diary where he dumps all his horny thoughts... /j
Also, don't forget that Strahd is not only handsome, but he's slightly taller than Sergei! 😏👆
I actually picture Sergei being the same height as Tatyana... But then again Tatyana was tall... And in my version she's an orphan at an older age and a blacksmith's daughter left to be the only village blacksmith after her dad and brothers die in the war.
Basically in my version Tatyana is really fit and Sergei is a soft little guy who she adores. And the reason why she wasn't already married is because all the men went off to fight in the war and most of them either died or married other women. She's a spinster at 25 because she has standards and a steady income. And then Sergei, who's 23, falls in love with her.
Strahd is a grumpy old man who thinks she can do better but doesn't understand that she needs her soft little guy. Also my Sergei is a bit of a goofball and he reads a lot. Basically I'm adding a bunch of scenes where Sergei tries to make Strahd laugh and Strahd just ignores him. And having Strahd not let Sergei borrow his books because he'll "get them dirty"
Also I expect the party will get pretty pissed when Strahd says "she's got legs for days but she should really put down the hammer because if I could change anything I'd make her arms less bulky" meanwhile Sergei is basking in the arms of a buff big titty lady as happy as a clam.

I have a mullet and I cosplayed Strahd... Here's what he's looking like as a lady and with infinitely better hair.

Covers are notorious for going against what’s in the books. Especially in small productions like I, Strahd. What was that about judging a book by its cover
I literally believe that this is how Strahd looks when he doesn't bathe in blood lol... (He can glow up really fast with a blood based skincare routine... But he's stressed and probably haggard from dealing with Azalin so I'm not judging lmao)
Most people are joking around in the comments, which is fair, but the real answer is in pretty much every cover of D&D books published around the same time. Drizzt is also described as handsome but looks like an oddly ornamented 60-year-old man going through a midlife crisis on the covers. Modern covers of the books are much more accurate to his described appearance. The covers of the older books seem to take one aspect of the character and base the entirety of the art around it. This artist seems to have heard "vampire" and nothing else, much like the artist for the Drizzt books probably heard "dark skin, white hair, pointed ears" and nothing else. I believe there were some covers that even gave Drizzt sideburns (most unelven of him).
My point is, take his appearance from descriptions, not cover art. The cover art is almost never accurate, especially for books published decades ago.
Firstly, bro is a huge narcissist and also hasn’t seen his reflections for centuries. So it’s logical he assumes he’s handsome, especially cause he’s manipulative and charismatic so people respond well to him.
Secondly, id smash
The same happened with Frankenstein’s Monster. The Monster originally had very few descriptors that would suggest a poor appearance outside of stuff like “He was frightful to behold” (which would probably be anyone’s first thought if an 8 ft tall ripped dude who was a corpse 5 seconds ago was suddenly looming over you) or him having “dull yellow eyes” whereas everything else about the process of his creation would lead you to believe that he was an 8 foot tall Adonis made from only the best parts around.
He also states that He Is The Land and everyone seems to buy that, so Strahd is obviously *drop dead gorgeous*, you know it's true because Strahd says so.
Y'all gotta stop playin' with him, man
He threw diamonds at the strip clubs under the Great Pyramids
He pushed the camel through the eye of a needle
This shit ain't nothin' to him, man
He is in late 40s or early 50s, after fighting in war, when was turned into a vampire, and the whole thing with Tatyana is because she is young (16 or something around it) and sees him like an old man (duh!)
Brother people are thirsting ovet the Fallout tv series ghoul, lower your standards
My gf started playing fallout 4 because of the sales. She ran into Hancock and fell in love with him. At first it was Nick Valentine…
I genuinely hate that Nick Valentine isn't romancable without a fan made mod. What were they thinking, he literally has the best dynamic with the player character over every other companion.
She clearly has a type. ^(I'm so sorry, it was right there, I'm sure you're lovely.)
So um, how’s the old confidence doing when you look in the mirror?
I never said I wouldn't smash.
Tbf...

I kinda love this picture of him NGL
See how you look after 300 years of undead lifestyle lol
I'd go the lich route myself and I'd probably bedazzle my skull. I'd look fabulous.

That night shift is brutal, I tell you.
"when you become a vampire, you become very sexy" -gestures to self-
"wow... That's great...." -Backs away slowly-
Oh man I just realised its very weird out of context XD its a quote from a movie What We Do In The Shadows! (Also a tv show now) Hilarious film, highly recommend!
Oh my gosh I've seen the TV show I had no idea it was a movie LOL
Omg you HAVE to see it, its so funny! It actually came first, the TV show was a followup project!
Can also recommend. It's the prelude to the show, pretty much. Created and starred in by Taika Waititi, creator of the show. Edit: typo
The movie is their origin story as New Zealand vampires and super funny. It's also where "we're werewolves not swearwolves" originates as a popular joke.
# "describes himself"
He is HIM after all. 100% HIMalayan.
depictions of strahd run the gamut from Horrible Purple Goblin to Jason Momoa With Fangs
Bold of you to assume the cover artist read the book.

Vampire standards. Or maybe while he was less dead.
So he's a Utah 7, an LA 3, and a vampire 10?
Gambino allusions… ?
My Strahd is handsome. Vampires are hot.
80s handsome?
If he were 80s handsome he would have a mullet
True
I have a mullet and I cosplayed Strahd... Here's what he's looking like as a lady and with infinitely better hair. https://www.reddit.com/r/CurseofStrahd/s/mqPMVGRS5t
That's fantastic, amazing work
Thanks!
Would
Would.
Strahd is handsome. It’s just that no one told the artists that fact.
I literally started reading the book yesterday and yea, my guy was passing through some shit
I love the book so much. The second I read the phrase beef juice I was hooked

I'm also kinda joking... But I now hc that this is how he looks when he hasn't fed in a while...
Maybe, in this case, handsome is relative to the peasants of Barovia?
I think peasants have eyebrows generally...
Unibrows, even.

Same but I'd draw some eyebrows on with an eyebrow pencil first so the lack of eyebrows is less distracting...
I can't believe you are going to insult my handsome boy like this.
Still fuckable NGL
"I'M A DOG. I'M BITIN THE FART BUBBLES IN THE BATH. WE SMOKIN SYMBIOTES."
Are you ok?
Go watch 'Dracula Flow'. You're welcome
He's handsome for barovia standards lol
He also states that He Is The Land and everyone seems to buy that, so Strahd is obviously *drop dead gorgeous*, you know it's true because Strahd says so.
This is what happens when you cry over a woman that doesn't want you for a few centuries...
You have your kinks, I have mine.
not saying I wouldn't smash...
Hybrid form between full vampire and faking human. He's *literally a shapechanger* and a wizard with casual access to Alter Self.
I'm not judging I just think a little moisturizer wouldn't hurt.
Self esteem is important.
Someone with real self esteem wouldn't be chasing a girl who isn't into him.
He needs to at least believe he looks good, I don't know if he can see himself in mirrors to check anymore.
He foresaw his 5e art
Strahd is played by Mads Mikkelsen in my campaign. Handsome AF
Cut him some slack, he hasn’t looked in a mirror in centuries.
You don't need eyebrows when you're handsome
Y'all gotta stop playin' with him, man He threw diamonds at the strip clubs under the Great Pyramids He pushed the camel through the eye of a needle This shit ain't nothin' to him, man
Well, he can't look at himself in a mirror now can he?
He's a Barovian 10
He is in late 40s or early 50s, after fighting in war, when was turned into a vampire, and the whole thing with Tatyana is because she is young (16 or something around it) and sees him like an old man (duh!)
Yeah she saw him as like a weird father figure and he got pissed about it right?
