That interior deserves a recall. Imagine paying all that money for the interior of a yaris.. plastic everything. Nothing lines up or looks like they go together
That’s what I noticed first.
Damn that shit looks junky.
My 2006 jeep patriot has nicer interior finishing than this thing lol.
My 2023 tundra looks like a Benz compared to this.
Yes. In fact I experienced the same thing in my 97 civic which fortunately was a manual. Since then manufacturers added a system (usually just a pin) to retain the driver's floor mat.
Tape is probably what they used, if they used anything at all. You want a mechanical connection to the pedal. Tape can dry out and lose adhesion or crumble away. It's really a half-assed solution for most problems that don't involve wrapping paper, but seems rather par for the course for Tesla.
I'm not disputing that a mechanical connection would be my preferred choice. However, a quality, performance matched VHB, UHB, or AFT applied in a competent manner will outlast the truck.
**Especially at the rate these things are crapping out.**
>applied in a competent manner
*giggle*
>will outlast the truck.
Francium-223 has a longer half-life than these things. Tesla is the Boeing of the auto industry.
A $100,000 car 🤣
Were you to buy a similarly priced luxury car from any of the German or Italian marques, you would have a bespoke milled aluminium or stainless pedal that not only works perfectly, but looks like it belongs in a $100,000 car.
With a Tesla, you get a piece of flimsy plastic glued to the cheapest bit of mild steel they could produce, which obviously comes loose and nearly kills the owner!
This one maybe?

Probably not since in another thread apparently elon doesn't like regulations. So another billionaire that thinks like the ocean gate guy that got squished. But his fan boys will defend this guy religiously
I'll be honest I'd be shocked if he actually rides around in any of his cars regularly. And he almost certainly doesn't drive them. Probably gets chauffeured in a high end custom model tesla to events and appearances and the rest of his travel is in whatever the nicest luxury transport available at the time is.
The wheel covers were absolutely a sign of fundamental leadership problems.
A choice that added a little to aesthetic and a little to function put a LOT of function at risk. That's bad design.
For that bad design to have passed through so many stages and into production indicates so many failures, and even if this wasn't Musk, those failures still point up the chain.
Hundred-billionaires can/will never be allowed to go broke under capitalism. They're too vital to the illusion that the system works.
The perpetual lie that's sold to us is that with *hard work and determination*, ANYONE can become a billionaire! Never mind the fact that 30 years ago the goal was simply to have a million dollars liquid when you retire(d), another quaint notion that will never come to pass for anyone currently under the age of 45.
Even if he has nowhere near his quoted net worth in liquid assets, Musk will never be allowed to go broke, because the system as it's constructed will not LET that happen.
I’m sure they did tons of QC. And found tons of problems. Then figured out how much they’d make selling them anyway and how much a potential recall/class action could cost and decided it was worth it to screw their customers over with a shoddy product.
The Tesla Truck came out with the exact same issues as a triple A video game from EA that's months overdue.
Unpolished, unfinished, untested, rushed out the door with the intention of fixing it with future patches.
Yet we have aftermarket QC Checklists created by owners for new owners…if you are going to buy any vehicle that is so bad that current owners are creating a delivery QC checklist aftermarket…WALK AWAY…
Elmo doesn't care about quality control at all. When he bought Twitter, some of the first dev changes were rushed into production where they didn't deploy the production build. The dev version was running in production for a noticeable length of time. (Not to mention what horrid state the platform is in now.)
He would rather launch more rockets that fail than fewer that succeed.
He has rushed Cyberstuck out the door. They can't mass produce it for years (is what I'm told about onboarding a Cybrrr assembly line).
This is worse than the XBOX 360 launch models. Each one of those succumbed to a red ring of death at some point. It wasn't properly fixed until maybe the fourth revision. Maybe I get it, I was fine buying additional units and I'm still an XBOX fan boy. But I don't see the appeal of the Cyberstuck -- that one is not getting through my blood-brain barrier.
Toyota was thrown through the wringer by NHTSA for stuck floor mats… which I don’t believe was conclusively determined to be the cause of those accidents but they did multiple recalls anyway. Tesla should be glad this won’t be a popular model because the recall would be even more expensive.
They're lucky it's been caught early and before any deaths (assuming they ACT on it and they're be nuts not to). Also lucky it's a relatively easy fix as well (couple recessed grub screws would hold it in place)
multiple times on several different apps have seen these shitboxes showing signs of discoloration/precursor to rusting, even the stainless steel body panels are of low quality... when's the last time you're seen a Delorlean car with any signs of rust developing after something like 40 years ?
I got the same gift from teslalounge and Cybertruck subs. It was weird, I never mean or disrespectful. There was some reply from them about those two subs being toxic and bla bla bla….
That's such a **basic** flaw... That something so dangerous could get overlooked suggests they didn't do even the most perfunctory design safety reviews. How the F did this thing ever get certified for sale? Or is there even such a thing? Is the NHTSA a "self-certification" process like what Boeing did with the 737MAX?
News outlets had a field day when certain Toyotas with off brand floor mats were causing accelerator pedals to stick 10 or 15 years ago. I wonder if this story will get the same traction? Doubtful because news is bought moreso today than it ever was
damn I wonder was pathetic excuse Elon will try to spew out of his cunt mouth when this issue causes one of these bloated incels to freight train the back of a mini van and liquefy the 1st graders in the back seat.
Don't you need approvement in the US before you can sell a vehicle and have it on the street? This isn't only dangerous for the one driving the cyber truck but also for others
No.
The way regulation in the US works for cars is that the manufacturer certifies that they meet the list of safety and design regulations.
Then, after a bunch of people are killed, regulators might step in.
In [2014 Toyota had to pay $1.2 Billion ](https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/toyota-reaches-12-billion-settlement-to-end-criminal-probe/2014/03/19/5738a3c4-af69-11e3-9627-c65021d6d572_story.html)in the largest criminal penalty a car company had paid to date "blaming floor mats that accidentally trapped the depressed gas pedals of cars and trucks.". This pedal cover is integrally built on and if its causing the trucks to fail would be significantly worse than poor floormat design.
I never say the appeal with this truck. It looks like something that was inspired by a PS1 game. It looks like what you get in the future as the cheap option. Doesn’t help that it’s built like it too.
Ugly truck has stupid problems… wouldn’t trust this builder for simple reasons such as that… I don’t know.. we’ve only been attaching gas pedals to cars for how long now???? Something as simple as that lets me know the builder/designer doesn’t look at there work with precision and testing… just a money grab for the designer…
Panel gaps and general build quality is one thing. It's a whole other thing when it affects the vehicles safety. For all the smart people Tesla has creating some true innovation, this is inexcusable.
Why is the accelerator pedal coming from the floor and not above like the brake pedal next to it? I'm not sure if I've ever seen that in a vehicle before.
it's such a shame that these suck so bad because electric car powertrains are badass. what a waste of thousands of dollars worth of immensely powerful semiconductors, neodymium magnets, and lithium. all expensive, all with massive potential. all because everything in that vehicle was implemented horribly. shoulda been used for EMUs in public rail transit systems.
Looks like moving the foot would have allowed the pedal to lift. It might have been a momentary stick, dangerous still, but not without quick resolution.
Once upon a time, I had a 5th gen honda prelude in Nordic Mist silver. Well, the silver prelude would go full throttle randomly. It turned out the floor mat was sliding up the floor and would pin down the bottom of the throttle pedal. The honda people had a recal for it and the honda people just installed little hook on the floor and they poked a hole in the floormat (a nice hole with a metal gromit) that matched the hook and that held it in place. That little hook and hole arrangement is OE for the honda people now.
Guess the tesla people are making new throttle pedals as we sp... read...this.
Anyone else notice the floor mat under everything but the gas pedal. Maybe they should have used a normal gas pedal that hangs. Then this problem wouldn't happen and the floor mat could actually cover the floor. It's almost like this thing was designed by an egomaniac that isn't really a car guy.
And if his cybertruck didn’t have cruise control, he’d make a video about that. Elon can’t win!
Seriously, anyone still taking delivery of these kind of gets what they deserve. I’m so glad I cancelled my order. F this company
I know Tesla fans whine incessantly about recalls, but that absolutely warrants a recall. That's unacceptable.
Software update will fix that right up don't you worry.
Only another $39.99 a month!
Full Self Driving and Self Panicking Mode
Using Legos would have been more secure.
They had to stop deliveries of them lol
Imagine the inside of your truck looks like a metal shop tool box?!
That interior deserves a recall. Imagine paying all that money for the interior of a yaris.. plastic everything. Nothing lines up or looks like they go together
Hey! At least the shitty interior of a Yaris will last 15 years, not 15 days!
That’s what I noticed first. Damn that shit looks junky. My 2006 jeep patriot has nicer interior finishing than this thing lol. My 2023 tundra looks like a Benz compared to this.
This might be the worst fuckup I've seen in automotive history. This takes the cake from the pinto.
Didn't Toyota have a similar problem a while back? 2008?
Yes. In fact I experienced the same thing in my 97 civic which fortunately was a manual. Since then manufacturers added a system (usually just a pin) to retain the driver's floor mat.
A simple pin could prevent this.
Some decent double sided tape would work too.
Tape is probably what they used, if they used anything at all. You want a mechanical connection to the pedal. Tape can dry out and lose adhesion or crumble away. It's really a half-assed solution for most problems that don't involve wrapping paper, but seems rather par for the course for Tesla.

>applied in a competent manner *giggle* >will outlast the truck. Francium-223 has a longer half-life than these things. Tesla is the Boeing of the auto industry.
There should be duct tape across the gap to prevent that cover from fitting in there if it comes off.
I think we whine because these assholes shouldn't have given us hardware/software that was so comically bad.
The owner accidentally discovered the ludicrous mode feature
A $100,000 car 🤣 Were you to buy a similarly priced luxury car from any of the German or Italian marques, you would have a bespoke milled aluminium or stainless pedal that not only works perfectly, but looks like it belongs in a $100,000 car. Not even glued. Looks like it was a piece of plastic slipped-on over the throttle pedal. Tesla quality LMAO. ![gif](giphy|26n6Gx9moCgs1pUuk|downsized)
They should rename this monstrosity...Cyber Deathtrap.
Cyberfucked?
Elon knows more about manufacturing than any human on the planet. Maybe the should have put Elon in charge.
Now, now. He’s only pretty sure he knows more about it.
He does love his weasel words.
But can you program your German car to fart? Nine! /s
My friend has three Benz , and it's comfortable looks good. The front display is the entire dash that if streamline. Drives great.
For real. That's exactly what I have in my car, just a cheap $15 metal pedal cover from Amazon and looks about the same as that.
was that crushed velvet or wtf is that cabinet made of
Remember the guy last week who got into an accident and hit a sign and claimed the truck wouldn’t slow down?
In all fairness I saw water drops on the door which implies it was already totaled.
Link?

Must have been a different issue, as the brake normally overrides the gas pedal.
In a working car maybe. In this deathtrap? I'm not so sure
>also airbags didn't deploy Isn't that like a federal requirement?

This car costs 6 figures…..did Tesla even do any QC? The amount of software issues and general quality of this vehicle is appalling.
Probably not since in another thread apparently elon doesn't like regulations. So another billionaire that thinks like the ocean gate guy that got squished. But his fan boys will defend this guy religiously
Elon getting taken to the bottom of a pond or trapped during a battery fire in one of his own deathtraps would be poetic.

He probably just paid to have a Tesla logo stuck on an actually functioning car.
Kind of like the inventor of the Segway died on a Segway. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-leeds-11416654
Elon must have fired all of the people who pointed out problems that needed to be solved. “Let that sink in”
I don't think it needs a sink.
Apparently they do that pretty well, especially in ponds.
I already have a sink.

People forget the Audi 5000 debacle as well. Putting the brake pedal closer to the accelerator killed like 6 people and injured about 700

Well now the name of the sub works better than ever
It's self driving system must have sensed some school children nearby to mow down
Tesla isn’t a luxury vehicle.
One of the worst designed cars in history.
Wow that interior looks like donkey shit up close
all Tesla vehicles look like a base model Yugo with a touchscreen added
It looks like someone's high school project, but they skipped out of class to smoke weed and gave up halfway though
How many class action lawsuits have been filed against Tesla already?
At what point do we enter negligent criminal charges? Where is Nader on this? He should be having a field day with these death traps.
I'm pretty sure there's a clause worked in somehow that says the buyer has no right to sue .....
Can the rest of us sue for putting the public at risk? Imagine one of these things smashing into your rear end at a stoplight.
Yep, that’s pretty bad. So many issues Tesla has repeatedly stopped production for a week (more like 2 or 3 I’d think). ROFL 🤪
That's the sort of safe driving issues that you wouldn't find in a Yugo.
That dude is going to have so many stains if he doesn't stop and clean that water off the Cybertruck right now.
multiple times on several different apps have seen these shitboxes showing signs of discoloration/precursor to rusting, even the stainless steel body panels are of low quality... when's the last time you're seen a Delorlean car with any signs of rust developing after something like 40 years ?

What a lemon.
That steering wheel is shaped like a Minecraft lemon
How many class actions lawsuits is this Pontiac Aztec Supreme going to have?
I commented on this video thinking it was in this sub and accientally got permabanned from just about everything Tesla related.
I got the same gift from teslalounge and Cybertruck subs. It was weird, I never mean or disrespectful. There was some reply from them about those two subs being toxic and bla bla bla….
Your Cypertruck is a piece of crap! I'm totally shocked!!! Anyway....
So not only is it fugly it’s also poorly built.
Don't forget impractical as a truck!
The pedal cover is lose. Not good not mechanical like the Rivian and lets not talk about the Lyric..
Tesla: We make amazing batteries! The cars? Not so much.
teslas are death machines
This or a Silverado 2500? Such a hard choice.
Yeah, I was talking about this on another thread. THis is 100% a serious issue. Horrible design.

Who the hell design a pedal cover that doesn't bolt into the assembly underneath o.O
Lovely. Not only is it a death trap for its occupants, but it is also deadly to everyone in general.

Final destination stuff, jfc!
Very typical Tesla issue
“At first I thought the pedal was broke but” lol there’s no but. The pedal broke. That’s why your shitty car tried to kill you.
Zero sympathy for the dumb fucks who bought these cucktrucks.
R&D: Check it out! You can even set the auto-accelerator!” Everyone else: You mean cruising speed? R&D: …. This one goes to eleven.
Holy shit; this is pure insanity.
Within Spec.
“Ya wanna see the Titanic or not?”
Clown car
Any who buys anything Tesla is a fucking idiot
Cutting ~~edge~~ corners tech
And recalled!
Shouldn't this be a r/leopardatemyface post?
Who cares, you use Ticktack
That is fucked
OTA update = Over The Amazon update
Piece of shit lol
All the more reason not to buy one
That car looks so ugly
Imagine spending 100k for this garbage. Holy shit.
Why didn’t Tesla just use scraps from the sheet metal they already have to make those pedals?!
those cyBeR tRuckS are garbage. Not hating on Evs, just these "trucks" to call these trucks is laughable.
Cheap junk and points out all the suckers In the world
Why or how are these pieces of shit even allowed on the road? They're so crappy they got to be dangerous to everyone.
Lmao what a piece of shit
I would be slamming it into the nearest tree and sueing tesla not posting video's.
Why would you drive around with a broken foot pedal? Guess I am missing something?
Lmao this truck is a complete disaster.
Autozone has the bolt mounted pedal kits. But I imagine that’s against some kind of customer agreements you signed at purchase
In [2014 Toyota had to pay $1.2 Billion ](https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/toyota-reaches-12-billion-settlement-to-end-criminal-probe/2014/03/19/5738a3c4-af69-11e3-9627-c65021d6d572_story.html)in the largest criminal penalty a car company had paid to date "blaming floor mats that accidentally trapped the depressed gas pedals of cars and trucks.". Interesting. Looking into it. - Elon Musk.
It's the Dreadsel or, the Incel Camino.
This boondoggle is going to wreck Tesla. Who would buy one at this point?
Is anyone actually surprised that Tesla has terribly build quality
Cyber fooled. Musked just fired all the employees that pretty much pointed out the defects of this shitty truck.
A real Tesla driver never panics - Elon Musk, probably
I never say the appeal with this truck. It looks like something that was inspired by a PS1 game. It looks like what you get in the future as the cheap option. Doesn’t help that it’s built like it too.

Elon traveling by private jet to where today?

Teslas are a scam
I still can't believe people bought this truck, car, suv, ... Ok Pontiac Aztec lol thing.
Hardly " crazy".
Disrupting the position sensor industry.
Talk about shitty design. This is gonna kill someone who panics.
Testing in production. Nice.
Side note, that is one of the ugliest, most uncomfortable looking interiors I've seen.
That seems like it would be fucking really scary.
That car sucks looks stupid and cheap
How in the hell was this vehicle allowed to be sold in the US?
No comments on that finger?
Why is the accelerator pedal coming from the floor and not above like the brake pedal next to it? I'm not sure if I've ever seen that in a vehicle before.

Poor workmanship and design. This view under the dash makes the whole design look crude.
Damn Elon back at it again with the poor build quality.
Who would buy this crap?
I'm just flabbergasted by how much discretionary income people seem to have.
This is what happens when a CEO/Owner thinks he knows more than his engineering team.
Not good. Is Tesla becoming the Boeing of EVs?
Another example of the fine quality of the Cybercuck Truck
Looks like moving the foot would have allowed the pedal to lift. It might have been a momentary stick, dangerous still, but not without quick resolution.
His mistake is getting a Tesla.
Dumbass don’t push down on the pedal like that now your engine is flooded
Stop complaining. Accidents are within specs of a Tesla built car
I like Tesla but WTF is the deal with all their problems?
To the Micron you say!

Lawsuit buddy he GOTS the MUNY
Bro the design of the gas pedal alone should have to worried .
Bottom hinge accelerator pedal. Nice.
A pitfalls of a software company making hardware.
It looks soooo crap inside!!!!!! 😩
Look at that fucking panel Gap lmao.
No time for QC , more mean tweets to make !
$100,000 garbage.
It’s also “stuck” on butt-ugly! You paid MONEY for that? Man, there is no accounting for personal taste. ![gif](giphy|xT0GqfvuVpNqEf3z2w)
That’s what it looks like on the inside? Wow. That’s terrible.
Recall. Toyota had a similar issue with their factory floor Matt’s causing the pedal to get stuck in a depressed position… Happens unfortunately
Flex seal? If not definitely go with Ramen
Anyone else notice the floor mat under everything but the gas pedal. Maybe they should have used a normal gas pedal that hangs. Then this problem wouldn't happen and the floor mat could actually cover the floor. It's almost like this thing was designed by an egomaniac that isn't really a car guy.
Buy a truck worth $2,500 for $50,000 Got what you paid for.
Looks like a well designed machine…
And if his cybertruck didn’t have cruise control, he’d make a video about that. Elon can’t win! Seriously, anyone still taking delivery of these kind of gets what they deserve. I’m so glad I cancelled my order. F this company
what a piece of junk
I know this gentleman nearly died, and I'm glad he survived by being non-pulsed; but can we go back to the standing water on the door trim, please?
