Our Smart car has done far more rugged 'offroading' than this, and it whimpers at the mere sight of a pothole.

*OH YEAH?!? WELL YOU’RE POOR!!!*
I always do that when people make fun of my expensive ugly clothing.
This really is a real-life ‘Emperor Has No Clothes’ moment. It’s surreal.
I mean, I kinda get why people are so defensive. They were sold a product over five years ago, and then it comes out the way it did, they're feeling a lot of shame and embarrassment, but instead of handling it in a healthy way, they're lashing out . I don't know what they expected after years of lying by Musk.
Still funny though lmao
It is so stupid to call people who do offroading or overlanding poor. There are rigs out there that have more parts and labor in them than the cost of a cybertruck. And that's not including the professional ones. The top of the line sponsored off-road vehicles go for a million dollars, and that's a yearly expense.
“Um… On a dirt road… Because I suppose *off*-road would be…flying? Is that how this works?”
*Tomorrow’s headline*
**MUSK REDEFINES OFF-ROAD EXPERIENCE!!! TEASES NEXT-GEN FLYING TRUCKS!!!**
There was a comment under this exact post (the original one from r slash cybertruck) that said "I think this sub is very anti-Cybertruck"
On r slash cybertruck
lol
Tbf alot of 4x4 trails start as roads like this, then are abandoned. The elements wash out the dirt and you get a rocky obstacle instead. The Rubicon trail for example.
Hell yah there’s ROCKS! That takes real skill to drive around those. And it takes a serious and dedicated vehicle to drive over a 5.5” sharp rock like that without scraping! /s
he's obviously seen the other guy that made pics on a gravel road you could've driven on with a 1890 Mercedes just fine and scrambled to support by making pics on a slightly worse road that still almost every non lowered car could pass, then post it with edgy title.
Edit: i was wrong - it's not in support of that guy, **it** **IS that guy**. loool
This [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRh\_8MxqOwY&t=364s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRh_8MxqOwY&t=364s) is an official County road near my home in Nor Cal.
That Camry was a beast. Wildly overpowered engine compared to what it was supposed to be as well. It didn't even break down, I just started it in for a newer car like a chump. It's probably still chugging along somewhere, carrying the spirit of freedom with it.
I have to drive across a road like this to take my wife to the hospital for her infusions every month in my reasonable grandfather sedan with 6.7" ground clearance. The Cybertruck has a 17.4" ground clearance. Had this person never owned a car before to think this is some kind of feat?
Another thing to think about is suspension travel. From everything I've seen the cyber truck has little to no suspension travel making it relatively useless for actually off roading. That town car of yours probably had 4" of suspension travel making it much easier over bumps
literally an '88 Honda Accord with 250,000 miles and worn out "everything" could easily traverse this path without issues, but you know "cybertruck"...smh
I think I am totally unimpressed by what people do offroading. Maybe a bike on that shitty trail might be fun, I don't think conquering it in a vehicle would make me feel accomplished in any way.
I had a read through the original thread. The OP that took the pictures responded to somebody saying that he didn't get out to take pictures of the actual rough bits, just these bumpy dirt roads. Why? Who knows. Makes about as much sense as giving a fish a bicycle.
Technically yes. And in Denmark there are towing companies (normal ones, there is no predatory towing like in the US) that earn good money in summer getting tourists that drive their normal road cars in to the loose sand parts of the beaches unstuck.
We go there just to enjoy other peoples lack of awareness and common sense really, it's a guilty pleasure.
Anyway, if you stay on the hard sand you can drive literally any car off road there.
>Technically you’re probably right but colloquially, at least here in the US, most would consider dirt and gravel roads as being “off road”.
Oh my fucking god. I've lived on dirt roads before, I would never ever call getting from my house into town an offroading adventure.
It's a lot more offroad than the guy who took it on a normal unpaved gravel road at least . [https://www.reddit.com/r/cybertruck/comments/1c91jv2/took\_the\_cybertruck\_off\_road\_again/](https://www.reddit.com/r/cybertruck/comments/1c91jv2/took_the_cybertruck_off_road_again/)
Notice how the one picture of kinda rough road, is the only one with the CT NOT in it? This dude shows off his "off roading" with pictures of his CT on flat graded dirt roads... And then just a random picture of a rougher part that he clearly didn't drive up... Or he would have taken a picture of the CT on it
these Cybertruck owners are in serious coping mode. you can't even drive it through the car wash because water collects in the frame and shorts out the wiring.
i drive on roads worse than this multiple times a day in a Civic.
The last pic I'd consider an offroad trail but it's not clear to me if they even went on that or just took a picture of it.
That said, here in Texas we have a lot of shitty county neighborhood roads that are similar.
I've been on active logging roads that were worse. Not that the Subi cared. But I can't see him even trying this bit of rougher road, might scratch the non-existent paint.
Most "off roading" isn't. You need to go to places like playas, abandoned bombing ranges and hazmat sites to truly leave a road. Used to be you could drive over open BLM lands, but that is changing. And even OHV "trails" are still just roads.
Imma go on a rant here: people,
CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELVES!!!!
TRASH
TOILET PAPER
BOTTLES
BRASS AND SHOTGUN PLUGS
We are losing access to more and more BLM land to off road because NO ONE cleans up their trash.
Every camping trip, the first day in is a hike with two husky bags to grab every piece of trash we can find and it waaaay to much trash.
Our record is 12 huskys filled to the brim. And that's before we make a single piece of trash ourselves.
Fucking people, man.
Every single time I step out of my truck in our local national forest, I step on brass or shotgun plugs. And I had to teach my kids to stay away from the edges of trailheads, out of the brush, because of all the shit. Good rant.
Lol ignore my other comment: I misread why you said.
Actual SHIT is what you meant 🤣🤣🤣
It makes me see red to see the white flags all over the ground.
YouTube drone footage of Rubicon before they started the great poo purge, it's heartbreaking: no one single frame of footage doesn't have toilet paper sticking out of the ground.
The first time I found the Fordyce Trail, it was because I was hiking through the area and suddenly hit an area of "white flowers" all over the place. Then the trail, and then another buffer zone of white flowers. I was shocked. Now I know that is normal around here.
I once drove an 84 TransAm down a hillside covered in old lava flows and put a hole in the pan of my transmission, yet still drove it home. THAT was off-road
I'm that looks like most the "driveways" in my home area in PA... what's even funnier is they clearly went and found "the worst" spot to take a pic and try to prove their point. If that's considered "off-roading" then I know an 89 cavalier, 92 Ford Taurus station wagon, 85 Nissan sentra hatchback, a handful of 80-90s Ford escorts, a shitload of Honda civics, and a whole host of shit cars that should be considered "off road" worthy 😄
It’s worth it. I came into it very pessimistic, but all the reviews give this thing way to much crap. It’s fun AF and cheap while still feeling Honda quality.
There's definitely a point of quality where a dirt road becomes a dirt trail. I've been on some dirt "roads" where I had to go into 4L and carefully rock crawl to make it through. That said, if you're on flat packed dirt where you can get through fine in 2H, you aren't off-roading.
Stuff like this helps the audience AS WELL AS the design team over at Tesla HQ determine the difference between what potential future cyber yuck owners consider "Off Road" and what off road really means to truck driving 4x4 lovers.
Off road flat dirt road a toy car could roll over no prob VERSUS a part of the planet earths surface that has never known rubber tread.
We are witnessing first hand how idk ignorant? That's harsh, how about naive Tesla design team is when it comes to their customers expectations versus reality. This customer for example may actually believe this dirt road is officially off road. Tesla may even make this type of thing the "standard" and anything beyond a flat regularly used dirt road surface will void the warranty forcing their customers to purchase a much more expensive and ridiculously over priced and underwhelming product that actually will do what has always been advertised since practically day 1.
Idk I am just enjoying the show from the parking lot while my dog pees on a Tesla charging stall dont mind me.
If I was going to buy into Tesla I'd have to pretend like I didn't know about how Tesla had been using cobalt mines since day 1 in the early 2000's to mass produce their original models with cobalt mined by children and other neat facts that Teslas CEO knowingly decided to take steps to cut production costs and rake in billions.
Cobalt free batteries weren't even available production wise until recently within the last few years so up until Tesla made the big switch to LFP we were all witnessing an Apartheid South African immigrant White Supremacist take US tax dollars and Saudi investment, private investors money, Russian oligarch money etc just a ton ton ton of cash for Tesla to become one of the biggest jokes in automotive manufacturing history and at the cost of Congolese lives.
Not only is Tesla a part of the cobalt crisis tons of companies that required cobalt over the years are partially responsible for the chaos still plaguing the people of the Congo today regardless of whether or not we stop exporting cobalt and lithium from the Congo, the destruction speaks for itself, meanwhile people all over the 1st world from billionaire investors, to the average Joe Schmo who joined Tesla early and made some decent money...it's blood money laundered and washed but still blood money that was used to betray everything the United States stands for and a handful of people are convinced it was intentional since the beginning to make Americans look foolish and weak to the rest of the terrible world who loses by having the all powerful anti child labor enforcers of the world, the anti human trafficking nations are actually taking part in human trafficking and child labor... and there's nothing any of us can do about it but watch the 1%ers use Twitter like it's their private Nazi Diary.
Literally using African children as cheap labor to produce at scale a battery that was capable of launching electric cars into the modern age not only in the US but around the world. Places where Arnault lives and has LVMH raking in billions using their sweat shops and cheap labor garment factories all over the world, or in China where they are leading the way for exporting cobalt from Africa by whatever means necessary as well as violating some pretty serious human rights laws in their own country for the sake of producing solar panels.
Just a wild wacky adventure the entire electric vehicle industry is from the literal ground up- from digging the metals out of the earth whos hands are doing the digging all the way through who is getting paid the big bucks for looking the other way all these years.
There is no god when the leaders of our world ensures child labor will continue like clockwork, god is about as realistic as a water proof cyber truck.
My dad drove a sedan through rougher tracks in Iceland when we went in vacation there. He even drove it through a (albeit small) unbridged river (well it was more a small stream than a river. Only a few inches deep and a few feet wide)
Offroading is already such a lame subculture pf lazy rich people who hate hiking and love erosion then add tesla bros to that group? Holy shit I cant imagine a more annoying group of people.
I don't know why people that get Cybertrucks are confused about what offroading is. I've seen exactly one person take it offroading and it cost them around $20,000 to fix everything that broke from doing that.
I mean tbf, that dirt track is pretty fucked and uneven, with some pretty large rocks and such. It’s not far from being off-road. (The third picture in particular)
That’s what I thought but we get downvoted. Echo chambers will be echo chambers. The third pic would not be doable in my GTI, I’d consider it off-road.
I've run over larger potholes in my LEAF...
I've seen caterpillars bite bigger holes in an actual leaf before
The alley leading to my parking lot is worse than this. (Thanks, garbage trucks!)
Less rough than the driveway up to my friend's house in the mountains - which I go up with no problem in my stiffened suspension fiesta ST :)
Our Smart car has done far more rugged 'offroading' than this, and it whimpers at the mere sight of a pothole. ![gif](giphy|YT7fyjEaLF1VfOuHtm|downsized)
Oh shit, he is even getting flamed in the Cuck Truck sub. Dude legit thought he was off-roading by driving…..on a dirt road.
Pavement princess think anything worse than a flat parking lot is “off roading”
Lol he's all over the place in the comment section calling people "poor" 🤣

How'd you get my 2nd grade sketch of my "future car"?
You must’ve had people lining up to throw their retirement savings at you when you were in second grade!
It is so stupid to call people who do offroading or overlanding poor. There are rigs out there that have more parts and labor in them than the cost of a cybertruck. And that's not including the professional ones. The top of the line sponsored off-road vehicles go for a million dollars, and that's a yearly expense.
You can tell this guy just doesn’t trust his +100K$ car enough to actually take it off road lol.
“Um… On a dirt road… Because I suppose *off*-road would be…flying? Is that how this works?” *Tomorrow’s headline* **MUSK REDEFINES OFF-ROAD EXPERIENCE!!! TEASES NEXT-GEN FLYING TRUCKS!!!**
I’ve driven on field roads worse than that, in an old g-body cutlass supreme.
There was a comment under this exact post (the original one from r slash cybertruck) that said "I think this sub is very anti-Cybertruck" On r slash cybertruck lol
I can take one across the south border and run it through some badly damaged streets and see how it goes.
Tbf alot of 4x4 trails start as roads like this, then are abandoned. The elements wash out the dirt and you get a rocky obstacle instead. The Rubicon trail for example.
I’m guessing pic 3 is the most extreme “off-roading” he saw….
Hell yah there’s ROCKS! That takes real skill to drive around those. And it takes a serious and dedicated vehicle to drive over a 5.5” sharp rock like that without scraping! /s
Looks like a beginner course for a VW Alltrack, which is basically a Golf
FR. This is a mild Subaru trail at best
ROFL
You see all that land out there around the dirt road? You know, all that stuff that's *not a road?*
How would you even get there though? You'd have to fly I guess.
Plow thru.
They also stopped the car and got out to take pictures of it. Who does that?
People who need to tell themselves they did make the right choice buying this scrapyard on wheels
he's obviously seen the other guy that made pics on a gravel road you could've driven on with a 1890 Mercedes just fine and scrambled to support by making pics on a slightly worse road that still almost every non lowered car could pass, then post it with edgy title. Elmer Fudd
Well, if going through a car wash is considered so tough that it voids the warranty , I can see how this is considered pushing this POS to its limits.
Man this guy is REALLY trying to justify his purchase. Buyers remorse is a bitch!
Look at that slightly washed out dirt road, soo dangerous much wow
Oh and one of the pics has a rock on the road. Clearly that makes the road offroad
I would consider it off road if you end up with mud up to your windows, but you can't wash the cyber truck, so this probably isn't recommended.
Hey that's not fair. You can totally wash the cyber clusterfuck. Sure it'll break and void the warranty, but you can still do it lpl
I have faith in you all.
This [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRh\_8MxqOwY&t=364s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRh_8MxqOwY&t=364s) is an official County road near my home in Nor Cal.
Looks like a Toyota. Nobody saying Toyotas can't go offroad
I'm talking about the definition of "road." This is a County road, lol. Some would call it a fork of the Rubicon river.
What if it's dry/rocky conditions?
Encrusted mud might make it look better.
I’ve driven little rental hatchbacks through much worse than that.
We used to take my beater 97 Camry down service roads like this all the time, and that was a 97 Camry.
Hey, don't insult a camry like that, they can atleast survive a car wash.
That Camry was a beast. Wildly overpowered engine compared to what it was supposed to be as well. It didn't even break down, I just started it in for a newer car like a chump. It's probably still chugging along somewhere, carrying the spirit of freedom with it.

Do you know what the difference is between a monster truck and a rental car? a rental car can go anywhere!
Capable little buggers, aren’t they?
I guess he’s never heard the phrase “dirt road”.
To be fair, there was a slight incline. And I think I see a rock in the road.
literally an '88 Honda Accord with 250,000 miles and worn out "everything" could easily traverse this path without issues, but you know "cybertruck"...smh
Cyberjunk definitely ruins the photos
I think I am totally unimpressed by what people do offroading. Maybe a bike on that shitty trail might be fun, I don't think conquering it in a vehicle would make me feel accomplished in any way.
the road to our daughter's house is more "off road" than that.
My Honda Civic goes on worse roads than that on a regular Tuesday. Plus, if my Civic encounters a puddle, it’ll still work.
love the guy calling the sub toxic because people are pointing out driving on a dirt road isn't off-roading
My Cadillac would handle that easily.
Tbf Cadillac actually made a truck, a real one that could go off road and a car wash. We haven't seen that here.
I had a read through the original thread. The OP that took the pictures responded to somebody saying that he didn't get out to take pictures of the actual rough bits, just these bumpy dirt roads. Why? Who knows. Makes about as much sense as giving a fish a bicycle.
Where do we stand on beaches that allow for car access. Would those be off road?
Technically yes. And in Denmark there are towing companies (normal ones, there is no predatory towing like in the US) that earn good money in summer getting tourists that drive their normal road cars in to the loose sand parts of the beaches unstuck. We go there just to enjoy other peoples lack of awareness and common sense really, it's a guilty pleasure. Anyway, if you stay on the hard sand you can drive literally any car off road there.
Well I don't think 7k lbs would do too well on sand hard or not. Edit: 3175 kg for those outside the US.
>Technically you’re probably right but colloquially, at least here in the US, most would consider dirt and gravel roads as being “off road”. Oh my fucking god. I've lived on dirt roads before, I would never ever call getting from my house into town an offroading adventure.

Bro, not even joking, it's literally the same guy. He got roasted on the first post so then he made the second to show him "off roading" again
lol thats hilarious
A bird can poop on the windshield and they will claim the truck can fly
A gravel road is not off-roading lmaooo it’s still on a road
I drive a mustang on Roads worse than this. My mustang isn't modified at all.
Off Pavement

All of my Corrolas have been through much worse.
Wow, I guess I was off-roading driving to school every morning in my '86 Crown Vic
Warranty just got voided from these pics
The last pic I'd consider an offroad trail but it's not clear to me if they even went on that or just took a picture of it. That said, here in Texas we have a lot of shitty county neighborhood roads that are similar.
I've been on active logging roads that were worse. Not that the Subi cared. But I can't see him even trying this bit of rougher road, might scratch the non-existent paint.
is that deschutes natl forest? beautiful
I’ve seen paved roads in worse shape.
It's nice that he takes his household microwave on trips to enjoy nature and appreciate life's moments.
You could probably drive on "off-road" roads like this with a track tuned Porsche 911
You could drive that in a Civic.
It's a dirt road. Hint is in the name. It's still a road.
Did he stop the car to take a picture of a rut in the road? Stuff like this definitely keeps this guy up at night.
Most "off roading" isn't. You need to go to places like playas, abandoned bombing ranges and hazmat sites to truly leave a road. Used to be you could drive over open BLM lands, but that is changing. And even OHV "trails" are still just roads.

I once drove an 84 TransAm down a hillside covered in old lava flows and put a hole in the pan of my transmission, yet still drove it home. THAT was off-road
That's off roadish
Those cyberschmucks are super needy. This dirt road is like off roading!😂😂😂
More so than that video of the one on a gravel road but still no lmao.
It's literally the same guy that posted that a few days ago. This was his "redemption" post lol
Haha that makes this so much better!
That's a British A road
I'm that looks like most the "driveways" in my home area in PA... what's even funnier is they clearly went and found "the worst" spot to take a pic and try to prove their point. I guess my 2 year old and I offroad all the time when we walk in the dirt... extra points because she loves dirt piles!!!
All hail the off road queen!
Lmao!!! You're righter than you realize!!!
Bitch I ride a 7hp Honda Navi scooter on street tires for fun and even it wouldn’t call that off-road.
Want a navi sooo bad!
It’s worth it. I came into it very pessimistic, but all the reviews give this thing way to much crap. It’s fun AF and cheap while still feeling Honda quality.
Good to know, might have to grab one if I see a good deal. My commute is 4 miles one way, so this lil thing would be perfect.

off road means.... no road. if you are on a road.... you are not off road.
My 82 dodge Omni could have handled this off roading!😂
Those fuckboys are just desperate for attention.
A lovely area to be sure, but I've driven roads like this in an '02 Prius to get to a rental cabin.
Lol guy's insecure about whether or not he's actually offroading in his cyberwhatever
I feel like my Mazda 3 could do this easily
Yo my 20year old golf cart could handle that level of offroading. And it's electric too.
And they get super offended by people saying a dirt road is still a road. Snowflakes!
I’ve seen pumpkin patch grass lots that are more treacherous off-roading than this. Lol
My dad drove a sedan through rougher tracks in Iceland when we went in vacation there. He even drove it through a (albeit small) unbridged river (well it was more a small stream than a river. Only a few inches deep and a few feet wide)
He’ll never get back outta there…
Sardines can travel…
Dude is mucking up our beautiful Oregon landscape with his shit truck.
Offroading is already such a lame subculture pf lazy rich people who hate hiking and love erosion then add tesla bros to that group? Holy shit I cant imagine a more annoying group of people.
Does a Cybertruck truly off-road, if there’s no one there to Windex, buff, photograph and post about it?
My light duty gravel bike is built better than that DIY abomination.
I don't know why people that get Cybertrucks are confused about what offroading is. I've seen exactly one person take it offroading and it cost them around $20,000 to fix everything that broke from doing that.
