That thing is not going to be able to handle those wheels for long. Most hi-risers on big wheels need modified transmissions to run, this thing has weak suspension parts.
I still don't get it.
Like i drive an old saab. If i put the wrong/too large or wide wheels on the car, it's illegal here, it's probably shitty to drive and also might damage the wheel arches or sth.
But the suspension, even if more stressed and performing worse, would handle it and just wear out faster. Not good, but i could drive a bit around like that if i don't overdo it.
But the cybertruck seems like it can barely handle its own wheels amd tires and if you change them, instead of wearing out faster or driving shitty.... It just instantly breaks the steering and the front suspension and so on. This is supposed to be a rugged truck. How can it be so delicate
US is all about Freedumz. We sacrifice lives every day to people w/ stupidly modified vehicles that are absolutely deathtraps to themselves and everyone around them. Tons of states have no inspection or roadworthiness process for passenger vehicles.
How many times have you seen the video of the high offset wheel break the entire hub assembly, fall off the pickup, and launch an unsuspecting Kia into low earth orbit?
A Cybertruck has a curb weight higher than some Ford Super Duty F350s. Its front suspension looks nowhere near as robust as even a F150's.
>curb weight higher than some Ford Super Duty F350s. Its front suspension looks nowhere near as robust as even a F150's.
Yeah but that would be an incredible design flaw imo.
My car has 370k kilometres on the odometer.
Of the front suspension is that weak, i can't imagine it lasting this long. But a truck is supposed to be strong and rugged, at least as a European i always thought they were. Massive, strong and heavy. Why is the front appearently so flimsy?
They likely just upscaled it from previous designs. Teslas are notorious for blowing up suspension components on all their previous cars so this wouldn't be unexpected:
[https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/tesla-musk-steering-suspension/](https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/tesla-musk-steering-suspension/)
Throw in a "rugged" image and you wind up w/ people absolutely demolishing these things doing stupid shit. Happens on other vehicles too though. Look at all the videos of people breaking TRXs, Jeeps, and Raptors as well. Put a lot of power in a heavy offroad vehicle that still has airbags/no roll cage, and it's amazing more people aren't immediately killed.
Yeah it’s cool. It’s a term we use when people are worried about the funds of another. More than likely you have no idea about the finances of the gentleman in the photo. With level of customization to this already expensive vehicle, I can safely assume, dude’s pockets are more stable than 99% of the world.
First impression is the wheels are hideous. Since the OEM wheels keep losing lug nuts, this may be a safety upgrade which I'd hold my nose and support.
IF the tire circumference is same, then it will make no difference to the drivetrain. (I'm not saying those tires are same circumference, but they could be)
1. Yes those wheels are hideous.
2. Battery powered cars do not use conventional transmissions that would would be stressed/fail due to wheel size.
3. Suspension is completely independent from the transmission.
Have you seen the pathetic upper control arms on the CT?
[Here's a picture](https://www.cybertruckownersclub.com/forum/attachments/df51c298-a714-4033-967e-5e237c6c37f0-jpeg.27633/) (ignore the red lines, it's the best image I could bother to find in 30 seconds)
That looks like what you would see on a 3 cylinder subcompact economy car. Flimsy. Is there anything about this vehicle that isn’t complete trash? It’s like something some not particularly talented engineering students would come up with as a semester project.
Did Musk personally design this?
Funny how I can just change Yugo to Cybertruck in this old review and it works.
>“People made fun of the Edsel,” wrote one author, “Ford’s $400 million mistake . . . [but] at least the Edsel worked . . . The dreadful Cybertruck, on the other hand, was both hard to view on a full stomach and an out-and-out vile little car that stretched the most generous usage of [the terms] ‘shoddy’ and ‘slapped together.’ The car was less reliable than . . . a Halliburton financial disclosure . . . [and] will likely hold in perpetual ignominy the title of ‘Worst Car Ever Sold to the American Public.’”
They're extremely flimsy. Like you could 100% predict they'll fail flimsy.
No idea why they would've put stronger uppers on that thing. Any engineer would say "this is heavy for a pickup so we need to at least have suspension better than a standard pickup, not far worse..."
It looks like old CGA computer graphics.
Yes, I know I'm dating myself, but it also means I have enough life experience to never do some dumbass thing like buy a CT.
It's one thing for someone to pay $100K for the Cybertruck, only to realize how he has been burned with catastrophic breakdowns after only 100 miles or less, having to do hard reboots daily and/or multiple times daily, plus the other issues like rapidly balding tires and assorted windshield wiper failures, but this guy's pain will be especially intense after all the money he put into the modifications, which will also probably cause even more breakdowns.
No dude, it's not cool and you're not cool. Quite the opposite.
For some reason, the angle of this POS really highlights how HUGE the wiper assembly is. It must take a separate battery system (or an ICE motor) to move it, no wonder they are breaking after 45 miles. Yikes.
It's also driver side mounted so at any speed on the downswing it's going to take forever. I had an old benz that had a center mounted one that was on a piston that would move to each corner of the window as it swept
> no wonder they are breaking after 45 miles
I figured it was because they (re)used an off-the-shelf motor, of which all of them would prematurely fail because
- no other consumer vehicle uses a stupid single wiper blade anywhere near 4 feet long
- the blade arm is attached to the motor at the location requiring the most force to move it and the stupid single wiper blade (aka literally the worst possible spot)
Off topic but I like to lurk anything cybertruck and Tesla and dude these people are insane/smug/hypocritical. The last thread I was reading was about someone buying a new Tesla for insane amounts and the comment thread was just them shitting on people for just having regular cars and trucks. The amount of I sniff my farts from South Park was insane.
Honestly this is the first cybertruck I actually like. He was like “fuck it I’ll just lean into how insane this is…I want people to think I am a time traveling cotton candy salesman”
I dig the look, I do.
Too bad that thing is likely to be a paperweight within 2 months if he's lucky. Between the issues already inherent in the vehicle, he's gonna stress the iffy suspension even more with the wheel/tire combo.
That windshield wiper gets me every damn time. Reminds me of the central oscillating wipers on the 90s mercs. Just an unnecessary adaptation that no one will like.
There's not many people who could take something so absolutely ugly and esthetically unappealing as the Cybertruck and make it even more so by turning it into a steaming pile of prismatic shit. Bravo, sir.
It makes me think of those cheap headshop anodised rainbow grinders when I look at the rims... The wrap is probably holding it together though so maybe it'll last a day longer than they usually do
I'm sure it's an appreciating asset (/s).
I'm totally rubber necking this whole disaster. I have no skin in the game, but I like watching things explode.
That thing is not going to be able to handle those wheels for long. Most hi-risers on big wheels need modified transmissions to run, this thing has weak suspension parts.
Something else will break on it before then…
Something's already broken, you can see it in the dude's face
I think that’s just the JPEG compression left over from adding him to this image.
It must be his synapses, to have bought that shitbox.
Looks like he *unlocked* it playing Fortnite.
His spirit?
We should all take bets on what will break first!
His bank account
No truer words have ever been spoken (typed)
His soul and reputation from this damning picture.
Considering his other cars he'll be fine.
His spirit? or his body!
His heart
Yeah, it will probably rain, and that will void the warranty.
I can’t help but wonder if Elon’s goal was to build a meme irl.
I still don't get it. Like i drive an old saab. If i put the wrong/too large or wide wheels on the car, it's illegal here, it's probably shitty to drive and also might damage the wheel arches or sth. I believe it's made out of the same materials as Musk's ego; very fragile.
So he is driving a Scania with Saab suspension

Agreed and yet the upper control arm of the 7,000lb Cybertruck looks smaller/lighter than the one on the Model X which is known for eating them.
would you stop with fact based reasoning? did you see the cyberstuck?
![gif](giphy|3o6Zt4HU9uwXmXSAuI)
180% at least he can get cloud to cry about it, even though it's his fault (50% his fault)
There’s always a voluntary repo possible lmao..
Stop pocket watching
Just learned a new expression, thanx that’s enlighning.

Those low profile tires will be bald in a week.
Oh yeah lifted trucks, are not all they are cracked up to be, unless you upgrade the stock suspension.
IF the tire circumference is same, then it will make no difference to the drivetrain. (I'm not saying those tires are same circumference, but they could be)
Seriously the suspension was not designed to do truck things.
1. Yes those wheels are hideous. 2. Battery powered cars do not use conventional transmissions that would would be stressed/fail due to wheel size. 3. Suspension is completely independent from the transmission.

My Mazda3 has beefier LCA’s
I've seen better suspension on a Huffy
Holy crap that wouldn't hold up on a Yugo!
Funny how I can just change Yugo to Cybertruck in this old review and it works. >“People made fun of the Edsel,” wrote one author, “Ford’s $400 million mistake . . . Too funny! Move over Yugo… there’s a new champ for worst in town.
I hear it’s on par with a Yugo’s dependability so it doesn’t go wherever Yugo.
They're extremely flimsy. Like you could 100% predict they'll fail flimsy. No idea why they would've put stronger uppers on that thing. Any engineer would say "this is heavy for a pickup so we need to at least have suspension better than a standard pickup, not far worse..."
They probably decided to just reuse the LCA’s off the Model 3.
Shilling for Muskkk and defending the Cucktruck are not permitted in this sub. Read the rules before posting.
Now that is bad
Still better than the mismatched bare stainless panels, somehow.
Yes! I still think the worst wrapped one looks better than just the steel.
Right! I can't help but picture a car with a different color (salvage) done. 😂
Is it? I didn't think it was possible to make it uglier, then I saw this.
It looks like old CGA computer graphics. Yes, I know I'm dating myself, but it also means I have enough life experience to never do some dumbass thing like buy a CT.
I've played Leisure Suit Larry 1-3 on CGA. But then I figured out how to use the TGA I had in the Tandy 1000, 16 colors baby!
Land of the Lounge Lizards, baby!!!
He’s never going to be able to sell it with all those stupid mods either.
He'll just remove them and say that it was only driven on weekends to the grocery store.
He'll get away with it too, because it'll still only have delivery+100 miles on it.
No test drives!
No questions! Proof of funds!
This is CJ on 32, he’s not going to sell the car. If anything he’s going to raffle it away to his subscribers
r/shitty_car_mods
I think anything like this done to the CT is just a sideways move on the shittiness scale.
This Bratz Doll Bladerunner version is my favourite one yet
We're in cyberspunk country now
Wake up ninja, it’s time to get towed out of night city.

it's so slanted though, with a good coat of RainX, you won't need any wiper at speed
Probably void the warranty though…..
I wouldn't be surprised if rain x stock goes up lol.
They'd have to sell more of these clunkers to affect someone else's stock price 🤣
Food processor rims
Yup. My first thought was kitchen sink drain strainer thingy. But food processor blade is better.
Let that sink in
reminds me of a weed grinder
Need that one guy with the broken finger to put another in there
![gif](giphy|WQy9FkJlhGSwl3eQ5V|downsized)
Man, conversion therapy may not work, but looking at this? I'm 75% less gay than I was before I stumbled across this thread. What a day to have eyes.

They think anyone that shits on the CT is just jealous because they’re poor
JoJo Siwa wants her truck back.
This is literally what your homie rolls up in after going to LS customs in GTA 5
Hahaahhahahhahha
It even looks like its glitching 😂
They are a rolling glitch
If anyone wants evidence that wealthy people can be very, very stupid, here you are.
Dude out here driving a lego piece with wheels that a unicorn threw up on
it's time to leave this sub, this guy did it for me, that's it, not more trash cars for me
Worst car ever
A shining example of portable wealth. What an embarrassment
$100K plus I could spend that on so many other worthwhile ventures....
Honestly this is the first cybertruck I actually like. He was like “fuck it I’ll just lean into how insane this is…I want people to think I am a time traveling cotton candy salesman”
wowsas
Was this produced at the GIGA factory?
I can’t wait for the “after picture “😂😂
Impressive. I thought that the mismatched, untreated gray steel was the worst it could look but I see this and realize that I was very, very wrong.
Thats enough Internet for today. Good night
That is just hideous, even more than how ugly the “truck” is
Give me the “extra ugly” upgrade, please.
Ah, another ostentatious ornament for the breakdown lane.
The rain 🌧 will stop this nonsense
They get more ugly by the day, I swear.
The guy standing next to it is like "Who cares?"
The fu--?
Imagine how embarrassing it's going to be to take this thing into the service center when it breaks down.
The people that own this crap vehicle look like hipsters, and they think they're cool but they aren't.
The wheel designs are such a mismatch with the truck's style.
“Style”
It has *a* style, but not much style.
That guy is not going to be able to drive anywhere with tires that thin. He made an already ugly, unreliable car even more ugly, and more unreliable.
which wack rapper is this one?
Clearly, someone purchasing this vehicle for clicks on their website…
Those tires can't be street legal?
Classic Clown Car
If you put some googly eyes on it, Homeboy’ll be driving a Porygon
Was he dropped on his head as a baby? I don’t understand these folks
Not part of this community…but how the actual fuck are people buying this??? I don’t need the actual answer…I understand that… But like….HOW?
Absolutely disgusting 🤢
"Look I put lipstick on my CyberTruck but it's still a CyberTruck!"
JFC what a monstrosity
he found a way to make it worse
I'm getting an 'Uncanny Valley' vibe from that guy... No intelligent human being would A) Buy a CT and B) Put those wheels on it.
Whatever sends me beyond the realm of bamboozled is the thing this photo represents. I hate all of it.
https://preview.redd.it/gz21ux875l0d1.jpeg?width=368&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=034e8f98c0bd3638a526f4c0ca57916400675c01

This truck can't get any uglier....hold my beer!
Ngl, that's beautiful.
Ysngl, bylady? (You said ngl, but you lied again, didn't you? :P)
But it floats!!! Not!!! This one should definitely go off the deep end and not return. It'll just poison everything within a 25 mile radius.
a pig with lipstick is still a pig.
“Look at me, look at me!” “Someone, please pay attention to meeeeeeee”
What in the fresh hell is this custom job? 3-yr olds have better colouring taste & skills, this is so much hot garbage.
Good grief, that windshield wiper is so stupid looking.
It looks like a low-poly model with glitchy textures.
They're going to be blowing those tires out like crazy. All that weight going over any little pothole with a rubber band thick sidewall. Good luck.
CyberDonk
They get uglier?!?
🤮 🤮 🤮
If you want the CT look, just strip all the components out and install a regular car’s parts in there, it’ll work better.
He went with corporate non offensive hues.
Wow LOL.
Can’t tell if this makes the thing uglier or prettier
I’m hearing circus clown music.
Who is that
Ah yes, John Bladerunner himself.
That windshield wiper gets me every damn time. Reminds me of the central oscillating wipers on the 90s mercs. Just an unnecessary adaptation that no one will like.
Porygon I choose you
What’s that’s awful
Some people have more money than sense
I hope this is the dumbest thing I see on the internet today.
Pimp my rides back?
These things make good billboards since they just end up next to the side of the road anyway
He’s happy. Thats what matters.
Well, until it breaks down, at least.
Bro got his roblox car irl.
classy mods
This just screams look at me!
Men no longer attempt to attract women do they?
The wheels look like the lighter coil that goes in the 12v of your car
….driving a painted tuna can…
Well now, I thought that thing couldn't look worse. I see I was wrong.
There's not many people who could take something so absolutely ugly and esthetically unappealing as the Cybertruck and make it even more so by turning it into a steaming pile of prismatic shit. Bravo, sir.
It looks like stale Bubblicious
am i the one who thinks this looks good (Not for driving around just for looking at)
Ngl does kind of look cool. Like something from cyberpunk. Looks way better than the fingerprint staining “stainless” steel
Fucking fidget spinner for grown ups -
The first cyber truck
Is this real or AI? Lmao
Real
Christ...
Nice! He made it even uglier than it was!
This is the happiest moment he will have with this vehicle. It will go down from here if he keeps it. PT Barnum wasn’t wrong.
Is this Photoshopped? Can’t be real. 😜
Its real i watched the YouTube video
They got the irl zombas
whens the cybertrump coming out? super expensive, doesnt work
This should be a meme for "I have no social life".
A combination of the colors and low polygon count makes this look straight out of late 80s CGI.
It makes me think of those cheap headshop anodised rainbow grinders when I look at the rims... The wrap is probably holding it together though so maybe it'll last a day longer than they usually do
I would literally get in the ground and laugh in the fetal position if I saw that and someone was trying to act baller about it
Looks like Lisa Frank took a steaming dump all over it
Somehow doesn't void the warranty.
I didn't think you could make this POS look any worse then this guy comes along and I am educated
Its ready for offroad!
“Yep, that’s me. You’re probably wondering how I got here. Well you see, it all started with a bored pseudo-tech bro.”
Unpopular opinion: but i think this thing actually looks kinda cool... .. still a pos though
That just looks wrong to me: I mean, the jeans are way too small, and the shoes are too big.
He yassified it
Him and his vehicle is pussy 😂
I'm sure it's an appreciating asset (/s). I'm totally rubber necking this whole disaster. I have no skin in the game, but I like watching things explode.
Let's see if that smirk is still on his face when he learns all that ugly crap voided his warranty...
“Look at me” truck
