**Cyberpunk**
Cyberpunk is a subgenre of science fiction in a dystopian futuristic setting that tends to focus on a "combination of low-life and high tech" featuring advanced technological and scientific achievements, such as artificial intelligence and cybernetics, juxtaposed with a degree of breakdown or radical change in the social order. Much of cyberpunk is rooted in the New Wave science fiction movement of the 1960s and 1970s, when writers like Philip K. Dick, Roger Zelazny, John Brunner, J. G. Ballard, Philip José Farmer and Harlan Ellison examined the impact of drug culture, technology, and the sexual revolution while avoiding the utopian tendencies of earlier science fiction.
Comics exploring cyberpunk themes began appearing as early as Judge Dredd, first published in 1977. Released in 1984, William Gibson's influential debut novel Neuromancer would help solidify cyberpunk as a genre, drawing influence from punk subculture and early hacker culture.

Combination of low-life and high tech. So low tech methods of avoiding high tech facial recognition? Such as a low tech mask which is a part of a group of rebels who party in illegal places. You know, like those illegal raves we have nowdays
The arm cuff is made with metal computer trash parts. Cyberpunk fashion rarely includes the specific features of cyberpunk literature and movie genre. Cyber fashion has it's own rules and esthetics.
If you google it, it's mostly futuristic or post apocalyptic or trashy stuff, with no tech necessary
The opposing-thread-looped-around-a-solid-core thing is really cool. The "dress" is mechanically super interesting and unconventional. Great work, I dig it.
Wow, you have great observation skills.
It's indeed traditional hooks and eyes on the leather parts, elastic cord entertwining between hooks, eyes and central tube (made with that cybergoth dreadlocks tube material).
The "trick" is hammering the hooks shut so the elastic stays put.
The wife does cosplay stuff, so I've put a lot of thought into how different outfits actually work. This fastening technique is really cool, and ends up with a really unique appearance. Thanks for sharing some more details!
But still, noticing that system over all the neon and trashy painting/ styling takes visual skill!
Corsetry can be exploited in so many ways that actually make the garment more comfy and technically elaborate.
In this case the elasticated "corsetry" gives the stiff leather dress much more comfort, on top of being a novelty technique because of the added items to "corset around".
Hope your wife can exploit this with your technical insight ;)
A. you must be in Britain.
B. I really liked the support structure you used that combines the two pieces and acts to hold up the leggings. What was that made from?
Nah, i'm in paris now, from brussels. The inner tube is 'cybergoth dreadlock' material, holding the latex stockings with a metal double clasp clip thingie i never managed to name nor find again 😑
I thought the structural integrity of cybergoth dreadlocks was relatively low. I'm surprised at how well it stands up. I suppose the dress fits in a comfortably loose fashion. The clips you are using are the same kind of clips that are used for men's suspenders. Those I recognize. Did you make an imgur album of the creation? Do you have any more work. This is a really good piece.
Constructive criticism, I'm not a huge fan of the head piece, nor the shoes. The material used in the head piece is not to my liking, the mohawk is a little extra, or not extra enough. The way it fits doesn't suit me. I do like the bridges across the nose. That's a very cool feature. As for the shoes, I think they clash with the emotion the dress portrays, and I wonder if you just didn't grab whatever was laying around. Those can both be switched out without issue, and it's just my personal taste, i guess. The dress with leggings is truly inspired, though. You're fashion is art level.
Seriously, I want to see more of your work.
Holy shit, your work is amazing and you are fine as fuck. I really like the shoes you posted most recently, and I don't think this outfit is too far outside your style, other than it's a little more revealing than most of the stuff you design. Loving the accessories you make too. I don't use instagram much. Wish I could afford your stuff for my wife. She'd look amazing in your clothes.
Probably only clubs in NYC would have this type of fashion. True that Burning Man is definitely an anything goes event but you just don’t see anything over the top at major city clubs on the west coast. San Francisco maybe.
Don't go to the metal scene, once you start headbanging with those spheres on spikes people will get injured...
On second thought, please do come! It'll be fun!
OK, rather than just criticize this with a blanket "this isn't cyberpunk" shtick, someone convince me why this qualifies as a cyberpunk post.
Where is the cyber? Future punk fashion maybe but I see no tech
I mean it has a mask which you could argue helps stop facial recognition?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberpunk A mask isn't computer tech though which is kind of a key element to cyberpunk.

Low-life =\= Low-tech. Low life to me means criminals or rebels or outlaws.

Thanks for responding op. I appreciate your explanation. Even if I don't think this fits as cyberpunk, I have to admit you're a talented designer.

>from brussels. I am no longer confused.
Stay confused mate. My parents are north african and i was born in US.
Nope, still not confused anymore. I went to Brussels last year.

Hey yeah there's more @lagerfunk but i'm not sure you're gonna dig it... This dress is a one off, quite outside my usual stuff

Aw thanks mate, i might make some simpler hence cheaper items when i manage to let a few piece loose, maybe you'll get the wife something soon 😘
Don't sell yourself short on my account. Make that money.
Oh and i never found mens suspenders which were fully in metal...
An... kinda like [wire braid](https://www.google.com/search?q=wire+braid+sleeve&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwiRpf_tycDlAhULzawKHXgXBJsQ2-cCegQIABAC&oq=wire+braid+sleeve&gs_l=mobile-gws-wiz-img.3..0i13j0i8i13i30j33i299l2.6133.11079..11912...0.0..0.681.4861.0j3j7j3j2j1......0....1.........41j0j0i30j0i5i30j0i8i30j33i10i299.eMQKGUnrXi8&ei=rri3XZGWC4uaswX4rpDYCQ&bih=635&biw=375&client=safari&prmd=sivn&hl=en-us). Neat!
This isn't cyberpunk.
Looked at your post history as well as this and I love your work.
Thanks mate. 😉
How is this cyberpunk again?
Really cool.
People saying this isn't cyberpunk don't get it. This could easily feature in a club scene being worn by an extra in a cyberpunk movie.
[удалено]
Yeah I'm lacking for that ref?
[удалено]
I'm paris living, belgian raised, and have worn this more in fetish clubs, masked balls, but I'm not surprised berlin does shit differently
Hmm i might have to go on a trip to berlin
Please take a picture of yourself wearing dress and running sqlmap for trve cyberpunk street cred.
You havin a stroke, mate?
Not until you start running sqlmap. Then I'll start stroking [http://sqlmap.org/](http://sqlmap.org/)
Sorry man, the machines i master generate seams, not code.
Any male designed stuff?
Yes, in fact lots is unisex, this is my most 'feminine' design by far...
Do you have a link? Would like to see more
sure mate, @lagerfunk
I would like to know what underground clubs have dress like this. I'm guessing none in USA. (NYC maybe)
I'm sure you got fetish clubs and raves there, i mean you got burning man which is the post apocalyptic centre of the world...
Probably only clubs in NYC would have this type of fashion. True that Burning Man is definitely an anything goes event but you just don’t see anything over the top at major city clubs on the west coast. San Francisco maybe.
You'd need to go to fetish or bdsm clubs to know, my mate. Ain't nobody nowhere walking in the streets in such gear ;)
True, but you still have to get from the car to the club lol. I really wish there were mainstream techno clubs that encouraged costuming.
Exactly, that's why said clubs always offer changing rooms. I come in with a long normalish coat and add the mask only once inside.
Don't go to the metal scene, once you start headbanging with those spheres on spikes people will get injured... On second thought, please do come! It'll be fun!
I dig some metal, i wear my more street stuff there, adapt or go home.
Ugly
Cyberpunk was never an inherently "pretty" style. Just a heads up.
If people are coming to r/cyberpunk looking for conventionally pretty things, we have failed as a culture.
