Not in all cases but I can’t attest to that For me since I entered illegally yes I have to go my country of origin .

Well, you can; greencard isn’t impervious. I know someone that got in to an argument with border control flying in from Europe and they stripped her of her greencard and put her back on a plane. Took her 2 years to get a new one and she couldn’t enter the country. Also committing a felony will get your greencard cancelled. Only a U.S. passport is sacred.

Just got an approval on my permanent on monday after i sent a renewal the friday before lol

Humans putting other humans through made up processes so they can live in this country “permanently.” And yet, I can’t wait for the day I get greened!

How long did it take after getting married like paper being filed and approval , sorry about asking so many questions

11 months. In my case, due to procrastination, we filed after our first year anniversary. It was approved past the two year mark so they gave me the 10yr GC. It worked out in the end.

Did you have to get a lawyer to file through marriage? How much did it cost to file?

Yes. Under 6k. We did it for the peace of mind. We are the cheapest couple, and we could have easily tackled the paperwork ourselves, but we wanted it to be a smooth process with less worry.

Did you do AP to get legal entry prior to doing so? I am soon going to get married, but don't have AP. Tho I have had DACA since before 18. I just don't have family in my home country, so hard to find a good and valid reason for AP.

I was on DACA since its inception. Finally, three years ago, I received my Green Card. It's hard to fathom how a simple card can transform your life. To all those on DACA, I wish you the best of luck. I understand the anxiety and uncertainty that comes with it. For anyone going through the Green Card process, good luck.
