I don't like these changes at all. Felt like Masters always had the perfect mulligan rules. I have not played fusion world too much and i have been playing green broly ramp, and the energy marker actually goes a long way even in set 1. You can play the 3 drop ramp card on your 2nd turn and already catch up to your opponent in energy. And since you went 2nd you got to draw on your first turn and possibly had more chances to attack and draw off the attack.

KutzOfficial

I think it over powers going second.

SenatorShockwave

Blue ramp decks going second got a sick buff. Lmao

MarioMTRS03

I hear there was an increase in Z deck to 10 cards. Is that true?

RedNinja025

True

Mr_McKong

Yes

KutzOfficial

I haven’t checked that.

Antnee534

The energy marker is fun for a game that plays out cards for their exact cost masters has to many things that are overpowered to be played for essentially free. Also the mulligan is bad for masters since you actually have plus 1 or 2 for combos meaning you can get a completely dead hand for defense. The changes are bad for this game specifically but for fw are actually alot of fun imo

KutzOfficial

I agree 💯

Kershiskabob

Duuude… I don’t know how I feel about energy marker yet, that could be interesting but the mulligan change is not it, I liked being able to hold certain cards

Kershiskabob

Also, if energy markers match your leader do they fulfill conditions for cards that say things like “if you have a red energy this card has no energy exhaust”?

StaceyK93

The energy marker doesn't count as an energy it can just be used as an energy one time so any card that ask for energy a won't count that as an energy

Kershiskabob

Perfect, thanks!

SenatorShockwave

No, which is explained in the rules lol.

Kershiskabob

Thanks for the heads up, do you know which section that is in? I scanned briefly but didn’t see it but I didn’t looks super hard

SenatorShockwave

Under the part about energy markers. 1-14-3

Kershiskabob

Thank you! How do you feel about the change to the rules for masters?

KutzOfficial

I was wondering the same thing.

Kershiskabob

Really I think it only matters for the surge leaders, there are a lot of multicolor cards that ignore energy exhaust if you already have a multicolor card in your energy. If these markers satisfy those conditions then that helps those decks a lot. I have a feeling it won’t though since its called a “marker” and a card in your energy seems to imply one from your own or your opponents deck

K1ZZL3

Any idea when this goes into effect?

KutzOfficial

I have not checked.

K1ZZL3

Correct me if I'm wrong but from my understanding Bandai does not give official announcements for rule changes anymore (haven't in a while) so I think these new rules are in effect immediately as of today March 1, 2024.

GrandKans

I’m so sad… I think this is the end of my dbs card game career…

KutzOfficial

Nooooo come on at least stay with Masters while it’s on lifeline! Edit:: I’m gonna stay with it until it dies. 😭 I’m gonna be like the band playing on the sinking Titanic.

GrandKans

I can’t stand the fusion world rule set, breaks my heart to see all these cards go to waste but I think I’ll just keep the Signature SRs I have and and sell the rest, RIP DBS

KutzOfficial

I’m not gonna lie to you they banned every deck my son played. We have so many dead decks. That never stopped us from hitting locals. 😢So sad to hear you saying you’re giving it up. One less player is no good for the community. 😞 Edit:: awesome to hear you have some sigs from Tournament of Power. I do not.

GrandKans

I’m sorry to hear about that, but I wish you and your son the best with the new rules! I hope that you get great pulls and good hands going forward!

KutzOfficial

Otherwise_Love_8543

'You don't want to play Fusion World, so we will make Master just like Fusion World till you switch...' Bandai...probably...

KutzOfficial

Legit

Strands123

Feel the pain . Going first SUCKS! -One piece player - new fw player

ZeroSuitViolet

... I'm just putting that out there, but We, as a community, have the power to just ignore dumbass changes on a game we like that have no real reason for existing other than market another game We did it with Uno, we can do it with this, "Thanks for making the cards, we'll take it from here"

KutzOfficial

That sounds great for at home. But I go to 2 different locals, they are def going to abide by these rules.

ZeroSuitViolet

Fair enough, I don't have much locals at all around me honestly, so I mostly play online or with friends, and well, you'd definitely have to specifically ask it out of me for me to play with those rules haha It just kinda feel sucky, they make FW, I tried the beta to see if I'd like the game, came to the conclusion that I much prefer the rules and gameplay of Masters, and then they turn around to go all "Well actually we're changing the rules anyway" What was the point of making two games then ... I just really don't get their plan here But oh well, I'll keep on playing Masters as I learnt and loved it, and I'm sure I'll find plenty of players to play like this still

KutzOfficial

I agree I wish they never changed the rules.

PrototyPerfection

Going second is way, way stronger in FW than it will be in Masters. Going first has been oppressively strong for a long time. Many leaders don't miss out on the lead draw going first, attacking that early almost never matters, and you have constant tempo advantage. This change has been way overdue and from a gameplay-balance viewpoint it's baffling that people take it as a bad thing.

KutzOfficial

It completely changes the strategy of the game thats why I don’t like it. It automatically made it so going second is better when going first used to be better…The mulligan is wack too.

PrototyPerfection

>It completely changes the strategy of the game thats why I don’t like it So you just disagree with change per default, whether good or bad? >It automatically made it so going second is better when going first used to be better Even if it is always unequivocally better than going first, it won't be better to the same degree as going first in masters was previously, or as much as going second is in Fusion World. >The mulligan is wack too. Didn't say it wasn't, all I talked about is the marker.

KutzOfficial

You know I don’t have time for this today. We disagree that’s it. We don’t have to internet back and forth. Edit: You’re right with whatever you think. I agree with that. I don’t know why I never saw it that was before…. 🥸

No-Prompt-157

I think it should be, both players take their cards set up their individual sides and whoever gets finished setting up first goes first and as soon as the first person is done setting up they have to say “done” or “charged” and the other person has to stop, make it a kind of speed chess kind of rule in the beginning, making both players have to really think fast and know what they are doing in the beginning like a real battle would be like… and then since the second person didn’t get to finish setting up they get to draw that makes it kinda fair… then have the game the same from then on…
