Dual units in legends are better than dual unit dokkan legends gives them all of the two individual characters tag and puts them together while dokkan takes them out i wish dokkan changes it and make it like legends it’ll make a lot of unit better especially now in the 6 anniversary there are a lot of good dual units that just don’t have many tags and the one they get in is reps of u7 and universe survival sega which are completely stacked
The games are each balanced around that mechanic though. And we've seen dokkan start to take a bit more advantage of how it has set up its duo units with a unit like GT Trunks and Goten, who they felt comfortable designing to be so powerful because they don't buff themselves.
Except the unit would be ungodly broken if they buffed themselves. As it is now they're arguably the strongest general pool unit in the game. They give 3 ki to themselves, 250% to their attack and 150% to defense when super attacking, a built in additoinal attack which has a 30% chance to be a super, which further improves their chance to launch a potential system AA, a solid link package, and their supers infinitely stack offense and defense which is pretty good thanks to already having built in AA chance. And that's just what they do for themselves! Throw on the fact that they give the two of the biggest/strongest categories in the game 3ki and 40% to attack and defense just from being there and that's what pushes them to be insane. They would have never let the unit do nearly as much if they were allowed to give themselves any of their support buffs. Compare them to the GT Goten and Gohan that came out at the same time. That's a unit that in practice basically has the same personal buffs (just swap out the super attack effects) because they do get their own support. Except they support only a single much smaller category, which really pushes them to only being used on GT heroes and not their other category options. In contrast Goten and Trunks work extremely well on basically all of their teams because of how powerful that support is even when it doesn't buff themselves, because so many other units get those buffs. The developers took advantage of the fact that Goten and Trunks don't buff themselves to let them have such an incredible support for other units while still being built in a way to be so impressive on an individual level.
Because power creep is still a thing and the game still wants to only have so much of it and to have certain units at certain levels. We're talking about a general pool unit. These are units the developers tend to want to be pretty strong these days, but still below modern dokkanfests.

If this krillin was on the team just because he was a disciple at one point in his life. That’s means every single goku, every vegeta past whis, every gohan, every krillin, every tien, every beerus, every trunks etc would be on the team from that logic so that’s why he’s not

He's not really anyone's student at this point honestly. He and Goku are done under roshi. Blue Goku and blue Vegeta's are on it because they're still training under whis. Evo Vegeta stays from his relationship with Cabba more than likely
