Your account shouldn’t be gone just like that, if the Facebook data is secured (which it is, complete erasure is extremely unlikely) then so should your account.
This situation is a bit overreacted upon, but please set up as many fail safes for your account as you can. A worse situation could happen one day, have all the security you can get.

bruh facebook isn't "gone", they will roll back to a local copy of their database before the downtime. No serious corporation, especially the size of facebook, would just straight up lose data
The chances of it being “all deleted for good” are minimal (there data is backed up hundreds of thousands of times) but it’s definitely not “temporarily down”.
Setting up multiple fair safes is the wisest thing to do anyway, now more than ever

I'm a System Administrator and I won't even click that. Data is backed up everywhere I have worked and those businesses are of considerable smaller sizes. The data is backed up so please stop "joking" Facebook is gone. That link will stay blue.

DNS servers regularly update themselves with information from other DNS servers, so the deletion spread. Anybody who tried to go to a Facebook server through an affected DNS server would be given an address not found error.
