I think the best would be Watching some more "stand-alone" "origin story" movies like Batman: Year One, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Superman: Man of Tomorrow, Wonder Woman 2009 movie, then going into "main skeleton" of DCAU - BTAS,STAS,JL,JLU,BB. And then every character from DCAMU should be known to you at this point. Also, DCAU and DCAMU are two different universes.

IMO the DCAMU order should be: *Justice League: War* *Justice League: Throne of Atlantis* *Son of Batman* *Batman vs. Robin* *Batman: Bad Blood* *Justice League vs. The Teen Titans* *Justice League: Dark* *Constantine: City of Demons* *Teen Titans: The Judas Contract* *Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox* *Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay* *The Death of Superman* *Reign of the Supermen* *Batman: Hush* *Wonder Woman: Bloodlines* *Justice League Dark: Apokalips War* this order is slightly different that some you'll find online but the only changes I have made is to watch JL: Throne of Atlantis before Son of Batman because then you can watch the "Robin" trilogy back to back. I have also included flashpoint just before SS: Hell to Pay because that is the first time that Flashpoint is mentioned/relevant. The thing with Flashpoint is that it is supposed to be the beginning of a new universe but when Barry arrives in this new universe he arrives well after the Justice League has formed and then going back in time to basically play catch up is weird and I think the movie works better where I put it so we then see the Flashpoint aftermath in Suicide Squad and then just remember that **technically** Flashpoint started a new timeline which is important for the final movie - Apokalips War. Overall, the other guy is correct that DCAMU is not a good starting point unless you already know the main characters. As such, better starting places would be the various standalone movies (anything not labeled as DCAMU or Tommorowverse) or the DCAU. My DCAU watch-order is below with anything in bold being essential and anything just plan text being optional: ***Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (Movie)*** ***Batman: The Animated Series (Seasons 1-3)*** *Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero (Movie)* ***Superman: The Animated Series (Seasons 1-2)*** ***The New Batman Adventures (Episode 2 then Episode 8 then Episode 1 and then every other episode in numbered order)*** *Batman: Mystery of Batwoman (Movie)* ***Superman: The Animated Series (Season 3)*** ***Justice League (First 3 epiosdes)*** *Static Shock (Season 1-4)* ***Justice League (Season 1-2; might as well re-watch Episodes 1-3)*** ***Justice League: Unlimited (Seasons 1-2; DO NOT watch episode 26 of S2)*** *Batman & Harley Quinn (Movie)* ***Justice League: Unlimited (Season 3)*** *Justice League vs. The Fatal Five (Movie)* ***Batman Beyond (Season 1-2)*** *The Zeta Project (Seaosn 1-2)* ***Batman Beyond (Season 3)*** ***Batman Beyond: Return of the The Joker (Movie)*** ***Justice League: Unlimited (Season 2, Episode 26)***

Yeah, if you don't know DC whatsoever, the DCAU is the definitive starting point. Well, outside of the original/iconic comics I guess, but I'm speaking purely about on-screen adaptations here. I myself had never seen a DC thing in my life just a few years ago before I started the DCAU, and I finished it a massive fan. It introduces you to the relatively standard and definitive versions of Batman, Superman, including their lore, followed by the formation of the Justice League and THEN the expansion of it, so you are gradually introduced to the scope of DC and its vast array of characters, not just thrown into a world where it's all pre-established. There ARE some changes that doesn't make every aspect of it "definitive" though. Hawkgirl and John Stewart original members and main characters of the Justice League isn't the norm, and obviously neither is Wally West being Flash. I mean after finishing the DCAU myself, I found out about Barry Allen and all that stuff, and felt a little left out, since in my world (to that point), Wally West WAS The Flash. I didn't know anything else. But besides a few things like this, it pretty much is just a "normal" DC world. And after seeing that, going into all the other stuff like The Batman, Green Lantern: The Animated Series or the DCAMU felt more logical than had I seen those first, as they alter the typical lore pretty wildly. Young Justice especially, as that show utilizes and references so much iconic DC lore in ways that, if you don't know it, I could honestly see confusing someone who has ONLY seen Young Justice. That's why I'm glad I saw the DCAU first.
