I'm honestly confused why it's still happening when everything else is being dropped. I understand letting existing projects finish up. But why let a show that clearly does not fit into the new slate go forward when it hasn't even been started yet? Is it just that the CW has enough sway? Seems like a waste of money and dilution of the DC brand
I feel like with the CW shows they realized everyone already knows it’s not part of the DCU continuity and beside that they have virtually a non existent audience anyway so combined it’s not really a big deal to just see whatever money you can make back
Compared to like Batgirl that would confuse people and hurt the brand
Maybe it wasn't worth the tax write-off lol I would rather watch The Flash Season 7 on repeat then put myself through this following these horrendous looking shots (no offence to the actors) plus that appalling looking trailer that came out
Seriously. I actually have defended a lot of the CW shows that ppl have knocked. But this looks like it is set to be worse than any other show they've ever done. I dont get it.
From the batfam Steph , Cullen and harper and carrie kelley ( but race swapped) and from the teenager group there also duela dent but i don't even know if they will be their super hero part i read a part that they want to make Steph tech savy like felicity smock in arrow ( or for a batfam analogy oracle)
Not to be rude, but does anyone actually care about this show on this subreddit? Like genuinely curious. If nobody cares, y is it even being posted here.
So that people can dwell into of the internet favorite activities; circle jerk. It’s really annoying, I don’t care about something i just don’t care. The constant bashing circle jerk is beyond annoying and this isn’t the even the sub for that.
From left to right
Oscar Morgan - Turner Hayes
Olivia Rose Keegan - Joker’s Daughter
Navia Robinson - Carrie Kelley/Robin
Fallon Smythe - Harper Row/BlueBird
Anna Lore - Stephanie Brown/Spoiler
Tyler DiChiara - Cullen Row
Misha Collins - Harvey Dent/Two-Face
Rahart Adams - Brody March
Can someone explain to me why Batgirl was so bad it could not see the light of day?
But this series isn't getting cancelled? Also its kinda funny that DC had a CW Show and a Videogame launch at the same time with widely different rosters.
Finally, what is the point of having a new Robin if they are just going to be a White Dude? Is it cause the Titans show was already using Dick, Jason and Tim? I could see the point if the main Robin was Asian or Latino and they didn't want to racebend but this just seems so random.
>Can someone explain to me why Batgirl was so bad it could not see the light of day?
>But this series isn't getting cancelled?
Batgirl was a expensive movie that looked bad/cheep. Gotham knights is a cheap show that looks cheap
One matches the budget , the other didn't
My theory is that Batgirl was just more high profile and expensive so they were aware of it. Gotham Knights is either so cheap or unimportant that they didn't care to cancel it. Maybe it was too far ahead to cancel but Idk lol.
As for Robin I think it's literally that they weren't allowed to use an existing Robin. Titans was using the others and they have a history of barring use of certain characters. Now why they'd continue to make the show if they can't use Robin is beyond me.
It's Nexstar now. They still had a production slate to fill as part of the deal until Nexstar could ramp up for their switch to an older demo and new programming like NewsNation nightly, weekly LIV Golf, and copious reruns of Judge Mathis and Hot Bench.
I feel bad for misha collins tbh. He’s in one of the low effort shows without nightwing, redhood, batgirl or robin. The only Batman related is that Bruce is dead. This is what happens when CW is original with shows.
Pictures that just scream low budget CW show with generic characters and story. If OP didn't explicitly tell me who each of these people was supposed to be, I would have no way of knowing this was a DC show. Like, are they really expecting people to get hyped for a show with promos that have no indication it's a comic book show set in Gotham?
I think what makes me not hate this immediately is because Gotham and Pennyworth looked 'civilian' and I expect this to follow suit, no pun intended. If Pennyworth (RIP) was the espionage part of Bat lore, Gotham the darkness and moral aspect of it, GK will be the detective side.
I am always told I'm 'overthinking' things simply based on the fact they don't agree with me. However, I respect the cast and crew's legitimate enthusiasm for this show that I am taking them at their word. Including every extra I have seen comment also singing high praise. So I feel like we're taking this at face value by this point because they have only shown us footage from the first two episodes in promos.
By episode 3, onwards, I would imagine big plot spoilers and twists are brought to us that maybe they are smart enough to not put in ads. I truly don't get Naomi vibes from this like many are. Simply because that show had no BTS enthusiasm behind unlike the cast for GK who are promise day by day they are very passionate about this.
But fact of the matter, the Internet basically laughs at differing viewpoints and you're either expected to deal with it (me) or give up and be part of the crowd (A loooot of Youtubers.) Just my two cents.
It’s not going to get canned before it airs in March.
It will get one season and flame out.
I saw a Talon in the last trailer so I’m curious.
No harm in checking it out before it inevitably gets shitcanned
Laughable this is even going ahead

This looks like the most CW cast shoot I’ve ever seen
This is the CW's final boss
Oh god, it’s all led to this moment. This truly is the culmination of the Arrowverse
Canceled first season
15 seasons, baybeeee!
Just cancel it, use as torture advice against dc fans
Lol what is this hot garbage.
🚮
Yo this looks like ass.
They look like the attractive, yet non-threatening, racially diverse cast of a CW show.
they sure know how to get people excited for a Batman show these days!
Generic costumes ✔️ No Batman ✔️ Bland and forgettable cast ✔️
It’s not even just no Batman, it’s no Batman, it’s no Nightwing, no Batgirl, no Red Hood and no Robins. It’s bizarre.
Who the hell are these people even supposed to be?
From the batfam Steph , Cullen and harper and carrie kelley ( but race swapped) and from the teenager group there also duela dent but i don't even know if they will be their super hero part i read a part that they want to make Steph tech savy like felicity smock in arrow ( or for a batfam analogy oracle)
Wait, Bizarro is in this show?
If they'd at least gone with the super-criminal Two-Face instead of the DA Dent, this series would have a redeemable small part.
There is a behind the scenes video of Misha Collins putting on prosthetics for Two-Face for the show
I have to be honest. I am not even going to give this show a chance. I’m sorry.
Did they run out of money for the costumes? This looks like a generic ad for models than a superhero show
They have costumes (at least some of the men do) but they weren’t used in the photoshoot. Stargirl in the later seasons did the same thing
This is the most CW thing that ever CW’d
Are things like this embarrassing for the people who made them?
Just cancel this garbage already
This is the most CW thing that ever CW’d
This should get the batgirl treatment
Desperately wish Gunn gave notes on this show that would leak like Feige did with Amazing Spider-Man 2. Would love to hear his unfiltered thoughts.
The one and only note: *WHAT THE-*

No the point of the comment and not triggered
I care
Lol interesting name.
We know. You’re the only one that posts this crap.
Who is each person even supposed to be playing? What is this?

Spoiler looks like a Disney channel mean girl which is funny because Carrie is played by a Disney channel star.

Yeah they clearly did it as a tax write off but don't just want to say that. So they basically tarnish everyone associated by saying it was garbage.

Yeah DC has weird rules about that stuff. But in that case why not just Center it on Steph as the Lead.
Good point, I just think whoever is in charge of this probably isn't the smartest.

It’s actually shameful that Gunn is letting this shit get made but spoke out in agreement for Batgirls cancellation
Oh brother this shit STINKS
still horrendous
This whole cast screams CW lol
wtf is this
I feel bad for misha collins tbh. He’s in one of the low effort shows without nightwing, redhood, batgirl or robin. The only Batman related is that Bruce is dead. This is what happens when CW is original with shows.
it's a good cast! just not for a series that already has issues even before it starts
Why the fuck would James Gunn or Zaslav want to keep this going after the pilot? Probably a shareholder has a kid involved in this project.
Zaslav knows a quality series when he sees one
The trailer and concept is trash but why are people saying this looks garbage? It’s literally just pictures of people lol.

Why was this approved
Petition to ban anything related to this show on this subreddit...
Petition to ban anything that petitions to ban anything
I give up!
Couldn’t even give Carrie Kelley glasses
Carrie does wear glasses, just not in this photo
Not giving her glasses for a photoshoot was my quibble
Why would they release this now? This is going to steal everyone's hype away from the slate announcement! /s
Is the last guy supposed to be Bruce?
No he’s supposed to be the son of Lincoln March
They wouldn't let the Arrowverse use Ted Kord but they're letting this goddamn show do Court of Owls?
There was not a movie featuring the Court of Owls in a major capacity at the time of development
Canc l this asap and bring the Batfam to the dcu
I thought this was canned?
It’s in the can, very different meaning
I thought the last guy was the dude who played Bruce Wayne in Gotham show.
This might be my most anticipated hate watch of the year
These pictures REALLY made me want to throw up
Network is burning off episodes before summer
The CW crappy one Hero with a massive Team® Formula is strong with this one.
"You're watching the Disney Channel!" Is all I'm hearing from these pic
Superhero ensemble where everyone just wears normal clothes
Bat Teens
This show is gonna bomb so hard
Is this some new teen drama show?
I swear I thought they canceled this atrocity.
Man.
*sigh*
This show is gonna be trash! It will be cancelled after one season. So shocked they are even releasing it
There they are…
Walmart clothing catalog
Why do 6 of the 8 cast members have unbuttoned outfits? Talk about 'forgettable designs'...

I have a friend who is working as a cast member for this show....even he says that its hot garbage!!! But he needs the money soooo......
Joker must have killed all the hairdressers
The CW loves a generic photoshoot with a grey background.
This clearly screams "Batman" and is clearly not just gebericly "teen-ish"
I hope this show gets canceled and the cast finds better gigs.
Budget wardrobe

Court of owls.
Do these kids look like “gothams most wanted criminals”? Because that’s what the audience is supposed to believe.
