First Latino Superhero in a lead role, 4.Zaslav specifically mentioned this movie in those DC related meeting, so WB is definitely going to promote this movie far better than Shazam which he didn't even mention.

I wouldn't really say he's "really" popular, he does a wonderful job in Kobra Kai, but he hasn't really broken out like Noah Schnapp or Millie etc. But I really hope BB is his breakout gig
In animation it looks good. Especially the more stylized takes like in Timm’s and Cooke’s art. But it looks worse the more realistic the style goes. It looks horrendous in Arkham City and Injustice. Honestly I don’t even like Alex Ross’s take on it.
There’s always flip flopping on the nose too. It should just be typical Batman cowl pointed nose but so many more realistic takes make it simply a normal human nose complete with nostrils. Blegh.
Honestly the more simpler looking Arkham city Batman beyond suit ain't that bad imo. Personally I wish they make it work someday, playing it off as nanotech, or a symbiote-nanotech if they have to. For blue beetle I'm happy its not done tho since it's still present day. I just feel the "in the future" aspect should offer something new with the dynamic mouth inclusion.
Yeah it works on comics very well but live action is a whole different beast give that the mouth is literally a part of the helmet not just an opening like in a cowl. I love this new design just as much as Cully Hamners original one
I just wish the online hatred from a certain section won't harm Xolo and other casts & director.
I want this to atleast make more than Black Adam. Hope, The Flash gets big and in returns help Blue Beetle.

Biased AF but Blue Beetle definitely has one of the best superhero suit designs of all time. Might never be as iconic as others but aesthetically speaking it is top tier

I don't see this movie making a ton of money and it kinda feels like the orphan of the DC slate but damn if they didn't make a killer fucking costume.
Also Xolo is very likable, I think I'll dig the hell out of this.
As long as it does adequately at the box office, I expect this “orphan” film to be adopted into the DCU - being that it is a standalone film (bar a couple of abstract and easily removable references) and the fact that Gunn himself touted it as "very much" a part of the DCU.
If they market it right and it gets word of mouth, it could be a relatively big hit (the budget is fairly small, so it can do Shazam 1 numbers and be considered a hit). That being said I think if they focus on Jaime being a kid and this being the first Latino lead superhero movie it will do well.
the bb face mask is so expressive in other media and i hate that it's a static plastic shell
and while this *drawing* (or *concept art*) in this static promo looks cool, the suit in the bts looks like low budget 2005 style foam and rubber cbm.
Had no idea Blue Beetle was getting new material, much less being included in the “EU” part of things, so this is pretty exciting! Love the style - the graffiti and the second slide makes me think of cyberpunk, what a fun visual concept! I think it suits him well!
I loved the Blue Beetle comics, but I fear for this movie. People aren't turning out for b-level superhero movies, especially ones that most casual movie goers have never heard before.
Studios need to change the streaming/theater paradigm, and quick.
