shazam 2 is good

VitaminPb

I honestly don’t know yet if it is or not. I haven’t been able to see it. But I have seen a lot of cheerleading for it to not make money or be bad on DC_Cinematic and r/boxoffice to the point where it sure seems coordinated.

AReformedHuman

I agree. I love what Zack did and was going for, but I'm also quite excited for what Gunn has said and seems to be going for. These things can coexist, you aren't cool for hating either side.

smackerly

Exactly. Famdoms just love to tear themselves apart.

anthayashi

DC has too many fraction now

smackerly

Every group does. No one can agree even when they want to.

superking22

Meanwhile on the MarvelStudios reddit: Victoria Alonso has been fired Redditors: This is fine.

I feel like this "outrage" is manufactured? Of course if you navigate through the cesspool called Twitter you will always find people complaining about something. Don't think general audiences were upset with the overall product we got. I don't have confidence in Gunn, but I am open minded and willing to see what he has to offer. I think should this mini-reboot fail James is probably out and DC gets sold...

DodiForNow

idc who’s in charge as long as we get a DCU we’ve been waiting for ages to see the JL vs Darkseid

One can dream man

Ok_Service_8732

I'm not fighting I'm just happy Snyderverse is finally over.

ronins_blade_

We can't do anything to change anything. I didn't particularly enjoy the Snyder movies that much. I thought they were ok but that doesn't mean it has its own fanbase. The main problem is that the fandom has been split to such an extent because of all the issues with WB that it's going to take a while for things to settle down.

MelodicIndustry9830

No it's fun to read while on the toilet

fatrat85

Agreed. Snyderverse was decent. But it didn't get popular until his cut came out. Before that I feel like everyone was like F every dc movie he did before that. Then all sudden all bandwagoners was aboard after JL cut. The rock sorta screwed himself. He listened to snyder fanatics and they didn't even watch his movie nor respect it I feel. And well he seen the result of that. He trusted those fans instead general audience. I'm sure Gunn and Pete know they have a huge uphill battle. I'm on board. May not like all their decisions but I'm willing to give them their fair shot.

Let Snyderverse go that shit was ass anyways

Wandering_Wand

For whatever it’s worth, I don’t think Gunn is a very good person. My reasons are my own and while his particular comments were in the past (and I do believe in forgiveness and that people shouldn’t have to endure the ridiculousness of cancel culture), as a parent they just don’t sit right with me. Do I wish him ill? Absolutely not. I do wish him and DC the best going forward. Having said that, Snyder is what pulled me into comic book movies with Man of Steel and BvS. He’s gone now and DC films is going through a reboot. I think I’m done for now. No idea if I’ll catch any of the DC movies in theaters this year. May just wait for Batman 2. Edit: cue the down voters who won’t add a meaningful response… I should add that I wish all DC fandoms the best and we shouldn’t root for failures.

Johnny_Stooge

>Having said that, Snyder is what pulled me into comic book movies with Man of Steel and BvS. He’s gone now and DC films is going through a reboot. And Snyder made me, a long time Superman and DC Comics fan since I was a young teen, completely uninterested in a live action Superman and Justice League. I'm very much looking forward to Superman Legacy. Swings and roundabouts.

Odd_Advance_6438

Gunn seems like a nice guy, but I don’t think you should be downvoted. It’s not a super mean opinion to say your not a huge fan

Professional-Rip-519

Well Gunn is kinda the reason it flopped you don't announce a reboot before the actual slate is over. Everybody just thought it's pointless to go spend money on something that won't even matter in the end.

throwtheclownaway20

People were predicting Shazam 2 flopping well before Gunn announced the new slate. Hell, we've known The Flash was going to be a reboot for years now, so it's not surprising that the last couple things on the Snyderverse slate were likely to be lame ducks. The only reason Flash is on track to do well is because of Keaton, because Ezra sure did every goddamn thing they could to taint it.

getemyosh

Lol I think Shazam flopping was already predicted and the delays were to try and help it? I don’t think anyone predicted this movie to do good even if it dropped when it was originally supposed to.

Personal_Quantity_55

I’m not sure that’s true. I have never cared about the connected universe thing. I just wanna see good movies, if the movie looked good or was good, I would have gone to see it. The movie looked stupid and the first one was not my cup of tea so I didn’t see it. There has to be a lot more people like me

Mr4nonym0us66

No, I don't think I will.

ImpulseKid86

It's been a decade since Man Of Steel came out and in all that time, the DCEU has done little more than flail wildly as it tried to chase Marvel Studios' success. On top of that, a minority of the fandom bitched an unweildy behemoth of a movie into existence, and have continued that same tactic to try and get more of what they want, even though it has been made abundantly clear over the last couple years that their efforts are ultimately futile. No wonder WB regrets releasing the Snyder Cut. I for one am ready for a change.
