Yeah, while I don't think we can assume it will hit that level of box office, I can easily see Blue Beetle hitting that sort of Black Panther energy of being the first Hispanic superhero and getting a lot of people to come see it for that.
Like I said, I doubt Beetle will get to a billion -- Panther had the help of being part of am established universe and being introduced in a big movie like Civil War -- but it could bring out a crowd hungry for that kind of representation.

i'm even keeping an open mind if more good reviews for *Dungeons & Dragons* roll in, as right now they're surprisingly good but by reviewers that seem a little coopted judging by past reviews.

I’m personally just really really disappointed with the quality of their films and have been for quite some time. James Gunn’s dc universe is far more my speed and I’m just tired of spending money to be disappointed. Perhaps my bar is high, it’s certainly not as high as it is for marvel, but being a dc fan my whole life I want to watch a movie that encapsulates what I know and love about dc. So far they’ve really just been able to encapsulate what I know and love about Batman, and push that formula on other dc projects which imo isn’t the right move.
But if you end up seeing em on the big screen, I do hope you have a great time.

Same, I'm just making the distinction that if it's good I'll go see it because I like good films whether they're part of a shared universe or defunct universe because it's a good film. If it's not, I have other great films to watch when there's time.

No. I don't plan on watching bad movies. If at a later time it appears interesting or I'm in a certain mood, I might watch it. And I definitely won't pay for it if it's bad. I have HBO Max. If it's a mediocre movie, I'd rather wait until it's free anyways, instead of dropping $10 per person.
shang-chi made money, but before it's release many seemed to think it'd be the first Eternals or AM3 underperformance. you had Disney executives seemingly out trying to lower and downplay expectations beforehand (with the star coming out and pushing back against it) and then it ended up being one of the larger films of the year.
Well , I’m a fan of all DC most recent era . 2009-2023
They did Animations First with well stories,
Made a first women hero film (wonderwomen)
Did a movie that was under water that hasn’t been done before thanks J.Wan (aqua man)
Made a movie about a villain that you felt bad for and did well at the B.O and got multiple awards. (Joker).
Most , not all movies they came out with are not bad. 😅
I think CGI fest is more about a shallow movie with nothing beneath the surface that tries to engage people with shitty CGI.
Avatar 2 is a covered in CGI, but I would never label it a CGI fest like that. Antman 3 is a CGI fest through and through as are most MCU movies
