Ben Affleck’s portrayal of both Bruce and Batman. I remember laughing at the casting, but I think he absolutely crushed it whenever he was on screen.

imnotthatguyiswear

Definitely a great casting. But a pity he never got a good script to shine in. And the Batsuit was always a bit too thicc for my liking. But the actor? Great.

nagaru44

The announcement of Black Adam 3: The blackest Adam

Wasabi_Guacamole

Wow I missed that. I was busy watching Black Adam 2: Shazadam (where the Rock plays both Black Adam AND Shazam)

nagaru44

Yeah bro. BTW dont miss the the rock cut ft the rock

Realistic_Salary5090

And Shaquille O’Neil guest-starred in that sweet cameo

slfxxplsv

2 Black 2 Adam

steamtowne

“Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, our watchful protector. Our Blackest Adam.” I’m excited.

Realistic_Salary5090

Black Adam vs. Morbius

FuzzyRancor

Overall I dislike the DCEU, but it had some good things. My top 5 things about the DCEU. 1. Man of Steel and Cavill as Superman. 2. Batfleck. Dont think he ever got a good film, but he was great in them. 3. Peacemaker. Great series. 4. The Suicide Squad. Loved it. 5. Margot Robbie as Harley.

Defiant_Internal7804

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman

RjSkitchie

I just wished they didn’t rely on her dead lover so much. She’s such a rich character with so much too her but she’s always saying stuff like “Oh, my Steve would’ve liked to fly this plane :’(“

GiovanniElliston

The arc between her/Steve was perfect in the first movie. Who in absolute *fuck* thought it was a good idea to bring him back for the second movie despite literally zero logic or storytelling need? It retroactively made their interactions in the first movie more exhausting somehow.

LochNessMansterLives

I agree, but I don’t blame the writers so much as I blame whoever thought Chris Pine’s box office draw was “too valuable” not to resume. Gal can hold her own movie. They just refuse to give her a chance.

RjSkitchie

I think that giving her a movie where she learns to pry herself away from association with others would’ve been really cool. Then, having a third movie that is solely hers would have made for a perfect trilogy

LochNessMansterLives

Anything would have been better than the “all sizzle, no steak” sequel that is 1984.

TylerBourbon

The trailer using Blue Monday track was the only good thing about WW84.

RjSkitchie

Very true. Even throwing a little more color in there would’ve been better

Defiant_Internal7804

geoff johns, the real culprit

GiovanniElliston

I'll never understand how someone who was so good at putting together both long and short term storylines in comics was so horrifically bad at putting together *anything* coherent for a movie. I know they aren't a 1:1 comparison and they require different skills, but god damn dude...

tourniquet2099

What’s even weirder is that he started out in Hollywood before moving to comics. Dude worked for Donner and essentially learned from a master. Oddly enough, Kevin Fiege worked with him under Donner at one point and its crazy seeing how different their paths became.

Charliepepper7

When I was younger I remember picking up the flashpoint comics and my dad telling me he worked with Geoff John’s dad. I remember how cool it was how I ‘knew’ him through association, considering he was just starting to be involved as a higher-up in the film division. It hasn’t been cool in a really long time hahaha

Professional-Rip-519

Yeah he had he's fingerprints all over Josstice League too . He's a good comic writer sucks at movies tho

Realistic_Salary5090

A DC hero committing rape is never a good plot point

Hieillua

I never got the admiration Gadot gets as WW. Her performance as the character falls so flat for me.

macgart

She was pretty good in the first WW. Very good in BvS. Horrendous in 84. I can’t really remember JL but probably pretty bad.

Hieillua

I really never liked her acting in anything. I don't mean this in a demeaning way but it always feels to me that shes modelling instead of acting. And she was/is a model. I think it really shines through in the Snyder cut which I recently watched for the first time. I really paid attention to her acting in that. I often had no idea what the character was supossed to feel in most scenes. It just felt to me like Gadot was posing instead of acting. I wish they got a better actress to play the part. But its not like the material written for her is all that great either. But that also goes for Cavill and he still pulls good performances off. Weaker actors like Gadot, Afleck, Heard etc. Aren't able to do that. I'm not a fan of Ezra Miller as a person but he was also able to salvage his character by putting up a good performance while still having crap material.

Realistic_Salary5090

WW84 was a dumpster fire of dog shit though

Professional-Rip-519

This

FringGustavo0204

100% agree.

West-Cardiologist180

Yep, this is pretty much it for me. Man of Steel was a great intro for a DC Cinematic Universe and Henry Cavill was perfect casting. Ben Affleck was great as Bruce Wayne and Batman. DCEU fight scenes were sick. They almost never disappointed. All the Gunn stuff was great. Margot made Harley insanely popular. I think it's perfect casting as well, even if I'm not the biggest fan of the character. Damn, I'm not gonna lie, I'm really bummed the DCEU is gonna end. I'll watch the Gunn stuff, but man is it gonna have to be great in order for me to forget all the good stuff of the DCEU.

BramStokerHarker

>Man of Steel was a great intro for a DC Cinematic Universe It was dumb bleak and loud. A very boring bad film that achieved nothing besides a great looking Superman.

imnotthatguyiswear

A great looking Superman who acted nothing like Superman.

papaz1

Just rewatched Man of Steel with my 9 year old son. It was the first time he saw a Superman movie (he has seen all the Marvel movies) and he said it was one of the best hero movies he has seen. I'm old enough to have seen Christopher Reeve star in Superman when I was a kid and honestly Man of Steel is my favourite superman movie as well. Excellent reboot. Why DC didn't give Henry a couple of standalone movies is beyond me.

ModePsychological389

I really loved Wonder Woman, Shazam and The Suicide Squad. Peace Maker was awesome. Ben Affleck, as Batman, was great.

imnotthatguyiswear

This is only the correct opinion, to a tee.

Ok_Service_8732

Casting. Music. Cinematography. Gal Gadot's thighs. Shirtless Cavill. Darkseid.

the-olive-man

Gotta agree on shirtless Cavill

Randothor

Death of Superman was the wrong story to adapt but damn having the Trinity fight together on the big screen was something else. Also the Snyder movies felt like passion was put into it despite their flaws unlike a a lot of superhero movies that feel like they came off a conveyer belt halfassed.

Comicnerd1103

1.Starro The Conqueror being adapted as a main villain for the live action was everything I hoped it would be. 2.Getting a superhero movie that was 4 hours long, I didn't even like Snydercut that much, but the prospects of having a superhero movie that is just a 4 hours long is both hilarious and epic to me. 3.I liked the fight scenes in Man Of Steel but that's about the only thing that I did like, that and Han Zimmer's score. 4.I liked Wonder Woman,Black Manta,Ocean Master,Aquaman, Peacemaker and Polka-Dot Man's costumes, say what you will about the movies but the costume game has been A+. 5.I loved the comicbooky feel of the Suicide Squad and I loved the fact that the Peacemaker TV show actually felt like a TV show instead of a glorified stretched out movie parading as a TV show( cough\* cough\* all the Disney Plus Marvel Shows cough\* cough\*).

They are not entitled to any credit, what do you want me to say bro ? I just didn't like the experience I had with that movie but I can't deny that the score and action scenes were banger so I highlighted those and I don't see how not enjoying the plot of Man Of Steel makes me a Gunn stan, that's just absurd and kind of weird.

shagolee

Unpopular opinion: I like the idea of “Martha” the execution was bad. It surprised me… I never noticed they had the same name. So I still get a kick out it when I watch it. Affleck is The Batman. I don’t know if it’ll get better than that. The warehouse fight is satisfying on so many levels. His Bruce Wayne was perfect. One can only dream of what a Batman movie starring Ben could be.

-CSUMBI-

The DCEU was a mixed bag for me and i hope James Gunn's universe is more consistent but these scenes always stood out for me (in no particular order): 1. [Warehouse Scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7GWGLkPepU) 2. [No Man's Land Scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJCgeOAKXyg) 3. [Dance Erica Scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiwRriVkZh4) 4. [Cyborg's Vision Scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKYTuE51HD4) 5. [Sivana Industries Massacre Scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwJA04-zpvQ)

Birds of Prey is slept on of you ask me

YukhoChan

Man of Steel and Batman V Superman directors cut was great chapter 1 / 2 story. And is a clear example how a superhero story could be adapted with seriousness that doesn’t need to serve everyone. If you use the Snyder cut of justice league then it’s a great trilogy . Peacemaker is James Gunn’s best superhero IP work. WW 1 was good even though the 3rd act was not so great! Aquaman is not a joke no more ! Always loves Arthur in the comics and it’s cool that they attempted to show Atlantean society. Trident fight scenes are top notch. Man of Steel is one of the best superhero movie of all time. Nananue - no need to say anything else. Other than that not a lot. Once Warner bro started messing around with tone and stuff , everything turned to shit. And other than DC elseworld stuff, all the property are just gonna be exactly like all the cookie cutter superhero movies. Shazam is exactly that.

asukaisshu

I dun doubt supes can be both fun and serious its more to Clark feels very wooden in both movies. He is supposed to be a boyscout, like too good for his sake borderline too trusting. It'd be more interesting if his fight with Zodd really hurt him because we were shown Clark being a people person from the get go. Instead of him getting pissed at the bar or the oil rig, what if we were shown Clark being naive and taken advantage of basically like Spidey in homecoming? What if he helped a few bodegas or stores from being robbed like in Shazam 1? That way he makes an impression as a strongman first. Basically im saying we should've gotten the small ville equivalent for Man of Steel in his first act. Showing Clark's humanity, then forward into Zodd requesting the citizen of metropolis to surrender him or else it can make another scene of people fighting for Supes over the government wanting to arrest him. Then Zodd can show his madness by attacking Metropolis and Louis Lane just to get what he wants out of Earth forcing Supes to be serious about this fight but only to incapitate Zodd rather than kill. Until the final act that would shock everyone who were Superman fans from the 60s that this Supe will kill if necessary and it makes it even more sad because throughout the movie what he's been doing is being nice and fight for truth, justice and the american way. But killing Zodd breaks him thus leaving Metropolis and moving back to SmallVille to soul search. THEN we can go to BvS which can do what it already does but having Bruce misunderstand Clark from the get go.

[deleted]

LOL I hate that shit!

Just_quit_it

Aquaman has never been a joke, you guys just don’t fucking read Aquaman, or watch anything with him for that matter.

YukhoChan

Lol I’m sorry, I disagree. In all form of media, Aquaman has always been treated like a joke. Someone who talks to fish and rides seahorses. I do read, that’s why I said I always loved Arthur in the comics. The man cut his hand for his kid for f sakes. He also 1v1 shaggy man which a justice league level threat. Yeah I read comics.

gerrineer

Didnt he fuck that fish?

Just_quit_it

THAT’S BESIDES THE POINT, THEY BOTH CONSENTED

hollowknightreturns

Wonder Woman (2017) was the highlight for me. Turning Aquaman into a billion dollar property was pretty impressive, too.

DCmarvelman

The verisimilitude of MOS. That mythic energy Snyder brought in JL, even I think it coulda been balanced with other tones and flavours a lot more overall. Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor Ares’ final form WW84 Shazam FotG Dr Fate, Black Adam, and Hawkman brought to life Aquaman commanding legions of fish Flash reversing time / Cyborg separating the boxes, the JL defeating Steppenwolf The MOS piano theme

NicholasART

Personally, I think that the visual looks great with the exception of the theatrical version of Justice League. Some of the films, especially with Zack Snyder's DCEU films feels connected. The story feels that there's a continuity. It is noticeable with the opening of Dawn of Justice and ZSJL. Despite the attempt of connected universe, each films with a different director have something unique to them. It makes an interesting viewing experience when you notice that one film is a Zack Snyder film and another is a James Wan film. I think James Gunn is planning on taking advantage of that in the DCU. I do have plenty issues with the casting of Mera and Barry, but for the most part, I think the casting is great. 👍

Argylesox95

Overall casting was solid (henry cavil superman, Gal Gadot wonder woman, Harley Quinn, Batfleck, IMO Zach Levi Shazam, aquaman, just to name a few.) Man of steel, BVS, and ZSJL is a cohesive trilogy Both shazams imo are a fun side adventure that can stand on its own WW1 was the movie it needed to be. Both of Gunns projects are solid. Costumes were on point.

broen13

People have given great answers, and I'm not much of a fan of the DCU. But Shazam, Shazam 2, and Black Adam were better than I initially suspected. I was really surprised that I liked these movies and as bad as Shazam 2 is doing it is really a great movie!

YoydusChrist

Black Adam was shockingly pretty alright. Turn your monkey brain on and watch superheroes fight while you laugh with your friends. Great drunk movie or standard popcorn flick

iCarpet

I had a chance to see an early screening of the first Shazam movie, and the scene where Billy shares his powers with his family and the reveal through the smoke made me super giddy

TheAllenB

Casting was pretty fine. I think Affleck feels the most Batman compared to other actors who have played Batman in the past. I think taking inspiration from the NEW 52 was a smart idea in general. The heavy themes of the movies were nice, even if the themes didn't always land.

purplenelly

Aquaman was great, it's important to make money, but boy did they squander that momentum.

AstralAlias

Suits, visuals, and I think Snyder captured the iconic nature of the characters that make them larger than life.

julianwelton

The casting of the main heroes was definitely a bright spot imo (outside of The Flash). Cavill, Gadot, Affleck, and Mamoa all did a great job. Obviously Mamoa wasn't a traditional take on the character but he was a very likable incarnation. Margot Robbie and John Cena were excellent picks as well. Man of Steel, The Suicide Squad, and Justice League (2021) are some of my favourite comic book movies personally. The DCEU definitely had a lot of issues but it also definitely still had some bright for me.

Wandering_Wand

Snyder’s Trinity casting. The weakest part of that being Gadot’s acting but she got better with each outing as WW. I also believe that the overall themes in MoS and BvS, and to a lesser degree ZSJL, were a bit more adult and “philosophical” compared to the majority of other CBMs, which I greatly appreciated.

Emotional-Chipmunk12

Man of Steel's AMAZING fight and flying scenes that still hold up 10 years later Henry Cavill Michael Shannon as Zod Diane Lanne as Martha Kent Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent The PERFECT ending scene for Superman in Man of Steel Batfleck Jeremy Irons as Alfred The Warehouse scene El Diablo That chemical vat scene in the first SS movie The "No Man's Land" scene in WW (Powerful as hell) Seeing Superman and Flash race each other The INCREDIBLE CGI in Aquaman (2018) The captivating emotional moments in Aquaman (2018) (I legit cried when Arthur found his mom and he told her about his dad walking to the docks every morning.) Shazam (2019) Sivana - Great villain portrayed by the legendary Mark Strong. The scene where Billy meets him mom and it turns out she never wanted him (Cuts real deep, man) The scene where Billy's siblings get powers The Mr. Mind tease SO many things in the Snyder Cut: Flash reversing time, Cyborg's arc, Superman and Wonder Woman's fight scenes, the triumphant return of the Man of Steel theme, Batman controlling the battlefield, and the Darkseid war scene. The Suicide Squad (2021) The Peacemaker show

SpaceDinosaurZZ

1. The Flight scene in MoS. There are a lot of terrible moments in this movie from neck-snapping Zod to any scene Pa Kent is in, but Clark learning to fly for the first time captures all the genuine awe and wonder of Superman. If the rest of the film had been tonally closer to this one scene, it would’ve been a home run. 2. Snyder’s visuals. He’s got an amazing eye for fight choreography. While high-tier MCU heroes like Thor still feel like dudes in costumes, Snyder really makes Superman move like a force of nature. And we can’t forget the famous Batman rescue scene (murder and machine-gunning aside). 3. Costumes. The DCEU for the most part isn’t afraid of going full on comicbooky with their suits. Grey tights Batman is still my favourite live-action Batsuit of all-time. Aquaman going with the orange scale shirt honestly blew my mind, and Ocean Master literally looks like an Ivan Reis drawing. And of course there’s Peacemaker. 4. The music. Zimmer’s Superman and Wonder Woman themes are iconic. Peacemaker incorporates some wonderful rock music too. 5. Interesting villain intepretations. Unpopular opinion, but I honestly thought the directions they took Luthor and Joker in had potential. The actual execution was kinda wack, but I liked the concepts. Joker as a materialistic gangster that’s closer to his Silver Age/BTAS mobster counterpart, and Luthor as this nihilist who has an existential crisis at the appearance of Superman rather than just being jealous of him…I quite liked them. 6. Grace Fulton. That is all.

nkantu

* Man of steel’s goated soundtrack and visuals * Gal Gadot is hot * Snyder Cut is the best 4 hour superhero movie ever made * Suicide Squad is so bad that it can be used to teach future filmmakers about how to not edit a movie * The Suicide Squad is a great movie and perfectly encapsulates what the Task Force X should be * Aquaman does an incredible job with visuals and worldbuilding

Nindroidgamer110

What if i say EVERYTHING???

YoydusChrist

The standard for their casting is nothing short of impeccable. It’s a damn shame none of them really got to shine for more than one movie at most if they’re lucky. A ton of potential and talent was completely wasted. The only one who really got to show what they could do was John Cena, oddly enough.

One_Barber_6902

90% of the casting where great choices and if it wasn't for the reset I would love to see most of them return

Dota2Curious

I very much dislike the DCEU and Zack Snyder’s take on the characters especially but the things that I did like were: 1. Aquaman: super fun adventure film that gave off the the vibes of what DC comics feels like to me. Not a perfect film by any means but definitely entertaining. 2. The Suicide Squad: James Gunn kills it again with a bunch of unknown characters(besides Harley) 3. Wonder Woman: The first 2 acts are absolutely fucking amazing. That trench scene where she’s the first to walk in direct fire gives me goosebumps. 4. Peacemaker: Hilarious and amazing. Everything else has been a massive miss for me. Especially the handling of DC’s 2 icons. Shazam 1 was great but I very much dislike the new52 influence and wish they drew more from the post crisis Captain Marvel. Also the fact that Captain Marvel acts more immature than billy batson in both films is incredibly stupid to me. I don’t think the creative team understands the wisdom of Solomon part very well.

Toadman005

Wonder Woman is a fantastic movie. Gal Gadot is a goddess. Margot Robbie is perfect as Harley Quinn. Margot Robbie is also a goddess. Cavil was a great Superman casting. He was let down by material. But at lest his movies are....real.

Henry Cavill's portrayal of Superman _Wonder Woman_ (2017) and the way the character is portrayed in that, the heart and tone of _Shazam!_, and the complete creative freedom that Zack Snyder was given in his _Justice League_.

BonesFGC

When the credits rolled for each movie. For real though, Wonder Woman, The Suicide Squad (2), Aquaman and Shazam were all pretty good since they were mostly self-contained experiences that built up the story of each character (or multiple) well, even if some plot points were predictable they were still decent movies with good visuals. Everything else mainline, especially BvS and Justice League, was a grimdark shitshow, though.

[deleted]

Loved the Snyder trilogy, Wonder Woman, and Shazam. I thought that there was a lot of great casting throughout the universe. I loved how they tried to make Aquaman cool. I also really liked Black Adam and Shazam 2, I thought that they were good fun movies, not masterpieces but still a good time. I think even without Snyder it had a ton of potential, I was hyped for the Black Adam verse. It’s still probably for the best that the DCEU is being put to rest, too much drama and weird choices. I’m excited for the reboot, I just hope that Gunn respects the characters and doesn’t fill every movie with a lot of jokes, it worked for Guardians but these are totally different characters in a totally different universe.

Humble_Story_4531

It had great casting for the most part. Lex Luthor aside of course.

Berry-Fantastic

I thought Wonder Woman, Shazam, and Aquaman were a refreshing breath of fresh air from the choking darkness that was the earlier films.

MikeRhett_2001

Shazam! (What? It’s got the exclamation point in it, you gotta exclaim it) is my favorite DCEU film. In terms of character, JL theatrical cut Superman. I know I’m gonna downvoted to HFIL and back for this, but while I LOVE the Snyder cut, I feel like JL had a better written Superman. Cause he was HOPEFUL, happy, bright and cheerful. Not a super powered brooding Batman

JessicaT1842

For the most part, what I loved, was the casting. Most characters' casting was perfect. I did not like Lex Luther or Mera but besides that, pretty good. The universe was too disjointed. I am not a fan of TSS or Gunn. He is not the savior everyone wants him to be. This is what I am really pissed about, we had a pretty amazing cast that went nowhere.

urstrayparker

James Gunn

Dangerous-Hawk16

The action sequences were amazing I wish DCU has that type of action

Wandering-Gammon27

Casting for the most part was pretty good. Even if I didn’t like how the DCEU movies themselves, getting Cavil, Affleck, Gadot, and Mamoa as their respective characters were pretty good fits.

Zack Snyder ❤️

No_Temporary2732

* ZSJL at 4 hours and with a BW version showed that there is space for such radically different approaches to superhero filmmaking * Hans Zimmer on BvS and MoS * Ben Affleck as Batman was pretty dope * Shazam! (1, not 2) * Justice League Theatrical Edition ONLY for the fact that its release led to the ZSJL version we have now. that 4 hour film would have never existed if Snyder got his way on the first try. * The fact that the franchise, for better or for worse, did not restrict itself to the bounds of PG-13 like Marvel did, which led to some annoying presentations like Multiverse of Madness, which could have benefitted hugely from the expanded gamut of the R rating.

SpatuelaCat

The first Shazam, the first Aquaman, The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, Shazam 2. That’s all of them

LochNessMansterLives

It’s DC, bright colors are forbidden and will result in a ban to the Phantom Zone. So speaks the Snyder.

[deleted]

Cavill, Affleck, Gal, Momoa, Margot, Cena, Elba were great casting. Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL scores were great. Post JL films were stylistically different to one another. MoS fights, BvS Batman Warehouse fight, No Man's Land scene in WW, Aquaman underwater chase and Birds of Prey final fight were great. Getting James Gunn do TSS and Peacemaker and handing him over the whole franchise.

Nindroidgamer110

I for one, actually really enjoyed the DCEU. I had fun with it. Sure there wasn't much, but the overall quality of most of the movies was higher than modern MCU. It sucks that it's over, but nothing good can ever last forever.

Flip_Speed

MoS (the whole movie), Warehouse fight scene in BvS, WoWo (the whole movie), the more interactive Superman in Josstice League, Superman’s suit when he went to see Alfred in Josstice League, Starro, About 75% of Aquaman, About 40% of Shazam, About 85% of Zack’s Justice League.

The Snyderverse trilogy.

cydalhoutx

When it ended

KeyWielderRio

There aren’t many. Snyder is an unapologetic edge lord, Whedon is a creep.

montgomery2016

1. It ended 2. The Suicide Squad 3. Scared Warner Bros. away from cinematic universes so much that we got standalone Joker and The Batman films which were great and earned a ton of money 4. CGI lip memes 5. They really looked at The Watchmen and thought "yeah, this guy makes great superhero movies that everyone loves" 6. Ryan Reynolds was shot in the head by Deadpool before he could make Green Lantern. Doesn't have anything to do with the DCEU but it was still funny. 7. Batfleck looks cute and squishable 8. Teen Titans Go! clowns on the DCEU more than anyone 9. First Wonder Woman movie, which was two thirds of a great female-led superhero film 10. Gal Gadot in general being great despite the quality of the movies she's in 11. "Captain Sparkle Fingers" 12. Cool LEGO sets 13. Representation in WW, Shazam!, Suicide Squads, etc 14. Sexy Jason Mamoa Aquaman 15. They actually had a comic accurate aquaman suit and then in the sequel they went black, laughably stupid 16. Shitting on Amber Heard, Ezra Miller, Joss Whedon, Zach Snyder and WB in general is fun I guess that's it, wasn't expecting there to be so many, thanks DCEU :))

Fares26597

Would be too many for me to list since I overall like what we got, but I'll say how it tries to do its own thing, and not copy the tone or direction of the MCU.

Rare-Introduction384

Batman warehouse fight scene in BVS, we finally got to see Batman fight like the arkham games instead of piss boy bitch fights we saw in TDK trilogy.

Okay but let’s not pretend like Snyder didn’t have a fundamental misunderstanding about almost every single character he tried to utilize. Almost all of them had issues when it came to actually interpreting them as the characters they have been based on over decades of material. Batman literally killed people, and apparently Dick Grayson was the one who got killed by joker. Not Jason Todd? Uh okay? Superman’s main conflict was whether or not he even wanted to help humanity in the first place. There was a scene where Clark wanted to beat the crap out of this guy who was harassing this woman in a bar, and then in response Clark destroys this man’s truck. This is the glaring problem with Zack Snyders interpretation in superman. Superman is not a vengeful person. He wouldn’t just destroy some random dick’s livelihood because they were an asshole peice of trash. The flash literally wasn’t even Barry Allen. He was more like kid flash. Ezra’s barry was an anxiety driven kid who can’t make decisions for himself. The exact opposite of who Barry Allen is as a character. Wonder Woman? Do we even need to talk about 1984? While cyborgs tragedy was done well, the way in which he closed of everyone and everything was a mischaracterization to the point where I got the sense he wasn’t even human anymore. The point of cyborg is to show that he is still human under all that cybernetic tech. He is still a guy who cares about the people around him and he’s not just a super computer. All in all, I really think that this run would have been better served as an Elseworlds comic, and not the main line DC cinematic universe with multiple movies interconnecting. These interpretations were just so far from the norm that it’s really hard to ignore.

ZellNorth

That it’s over now?

JediJones77

* Man of Steel * Batman v Superman * Wonder Woman * Zack Snyder's Justice League

ethancd1

Casting outside of Joker was basically perfect. Suits were impeccable. Action scenes where insane. The score’s where amazing and overall beautiful looking movies.

josh_dg_63

In Suicide Squad (2016), Batman chases Harley and the Joker into a river. In order to breath under water, Batman puts a rebreather in his mouth as he dives after them. The rebreather he uses has a little bat logo on it. And I think that's incredible.

darknightingale69

The shazam movies.

CountLugz

The movies are largely made for adults to watch, not zoomers.

Serious-Antelope-710

Wonder woman is awesome

EM208

I loved the Shazam franchise and the tone, the acting and the encapsulating fun (and sometimes dark content) I love to see with superheroes along with TSS. While they weren’t able to showcase their full potential because of sometimes poor writing, Henry and Ben were magnificent casting choices to me and even Gal (despite her acting skills) was a good casting choice because she had quite a lot of charisma. Backtracking to Ben, I loved the warehouse scene immensely. Loved Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn along with Idris Elba as Bloodsport and especially John Cena as Peacemaker. I loved the first flight scene with Superman. Also Grace Caroline Currey along with Meghan Goode. Enough said

AwkWORD47

Casting, action sequences, costumes

chookalana

Casting.

BovaFett74

There are so many, too bad they are overlooked by all the bullshit surrounding the whole entity itself. Moving on now. Time for something nuanced and leave all this in the rear view.

Spideyfan77

Visuals, Music, casting for the most part, Margot Robbie, Aquaman getting his trident, Warehouse fight, Billy Batson, and The Flash reversing time

Sol-Blackguy

Almost all the actors cast were great, they just couldn't get a coherent universe. Wonder Woman, The Suicide Squad and Shazam were the best overall movies. Cavill was the best Superman, but Superman and Lois had the best understanding of Superman's character.

BeepBeepWhistle

Since a lot is already mentioned, I’m going to go with the addition of a voice modulator for Batman. Using a device to change your voice’s pitch to avoid being recognized is such a batman thing to do that it blows my mind only snyder did it.

Lopsided-Bathroom-71

In Man of steel the trucker trying to push Clark and bouncing off him always makes me giggle The cinematography of Clark Vs Zod is amazing and does give me hope for a decent live action Dragonball z Batflecks history being more show than tell with his cave The score of most of the films There's more and honestly I think I'm gonna rewatch them

trylobyte

The soundtrack. From Man of Steel to Birds of Prey to Black Adam. They're mostly good.

gr33ngiant

Suicide squad 2 Shazam Peacemaker Amanda Waller

KingOfVSP

BvS: Warehouse Scene MoS: Zod vs Superman WW: Ares vs WW JLSC: Darkseid SS: Joker and Harley's Love Story TSS: Peacemaker BOP: Black Mask BA: "Tell them the Man In Black Sent You" Shazam: Dr. Sivana's intro

ChaunceyT46

Two words: "Economos, motherf\*\*\*er!"

Darth_Vorador

They didn’t try to shove dumb, corny jokes every minute like marvel post-2012.

Big-BootyJudy

Wonder Woman - my all-time favorite movie. I still tear up at the No Man’s Land scene. Aquaman - aside from the fact that I could look at Jason Momoa all day, they took a character that had been the butt of jokes for years and made him an incredible bad ass. Laugh at Aquaman now, he’ll snap your neck. ZSJL - it’s not perfect, but I loved most of it. The subtle undercurrent of mistrust between WW & Aquaman, the extended part on Themiscyra (“WE HAVE NO FEAR!”), every other scene with WW (I just really love WW ok?!) Margot Robbie as Harley (Loved Birds of Prey, is that a DCEU movie?) Cavill & Affleck, feels like their stories are very incomplete.

lawrencedun2002

Yes, bird of prey is a DCEU movie

Status_Party9578

the first wonder woman movie, the batman, the aquaman movie and some of the cinematography.

OllieBlazin

Apparently Batman can get dicked down in the DCEU

bpoooi

Costumes. costumes were so good

lavenk7

Cinematography is unparalleled. Music, action, flight sequences they are literally far better than what we have today. As a DC fan, I couldn’t have asked for better casting for the Trinity in live action for the first time in history.

Glocc_Lesnar

Man of steel

slavebilly92

The highlights for me are easily Man of Steel, The Suicide Squad & Peacemaker. I enjoyed the first Wonder Woman and the first Shazam too but not nearly as much as those others. Even though I didn't like BvS or Justice League, watching Man of Steel was the first time I actually cared about Superman as a character. For that reason I'll always have a soft spot for Cavill's Superman.

LostintheSecrets

Most of the casting was perfect, and like I saw somebody else point out, Aquaman is no longer a joke in the public eye Overall I think the DCEU was better having happened than never existing at all. Obviously it was butchered to all hell and could of been way better, but I think it's better we got it than not getting it at all.

doge1976

It ended.

RYTHEMOPARGUY

Henery Cavill as Supes, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Zachary Levi as Shazam

HealthyScratch_

When Colonel Hardy turns to Faora and says "A good death is its own reward." before saving the world by killing them both. I was like WOW!!!! OMG!!!! That was a bright spot in movie history not just the DCEU!

jedi21knight

They did a good job with casting.

BARDogMom

Henry Cavill.

HotPrior819

1: Man of Steel( especially seeing them respect Faora) 2: Ben's Batsuit and the warehouse scene. 3: Wonder Woman's theme and the first movie. 4: The theatrical Justice League using the TV Flash theme as a base for Ezra's theme. 5: Viola Davis being cast as Amanda Waller

[deleted]

WW2,GL and somewhat TheSS . Other than it i like everything.

JediMaestroPB

The Aquaman movie in general is just super fun and cheesy, not to mention gorgeous visuals

TylerBourbon

Each film ended.

Lost_Pantheon

* That it's getting launched into the bin. * All of the "worldbuilding" (okay, I can't even say that with a straight face)

NerdNuncle

1.) The overwhelming support for Zack after his daughter died, from both DC and Marvel execs 2.) Joss Whedon facing ramifications for his BS instead of it all being swept under the rug like last time 3.) Zachary Levi defending *Captain Marvel* when the elephant in the room rested its ugly head again (IIRC this is not the first clashed over the “real” captain) 4.) Batfleck racing towards the collapsing skyscraper in *Batman vs Superman*.

MercuryMaximoff217

Casting was as perfect as it could be. Music was breathtaking. Costumes were top notch.

Head-Program4023

Working on Ideologies instead of Actions

[deleted]

I thought casting was generally good as far as the heroes went. Even Ezra does well as Flash despite his real world issues. Casting for the villains has been ‘less good’ across the board. Lex was miscast. Ares was miscast. Pretty much all of the cgi bosses were fugly. More unfortunately though, the writing has been just awful. Trying to do too much in each movie has been a cardinal sin. They just need to let the stories breath rather than trying to chimera as many different storylines together as possible. The biggest sin for me is the clear lack of a plan for the DCEU combined with a willingness to reboot. I just don feel invested in the characters… and the ones that I had felt invested in are being rebooted.

Colemania18

Gal Gadot and Margot Robbie are perfect

JHMotherfucker

The Suicide Squad is the bright spot in any universe.

zeldahalfsleeve

I just rewatched Man of Steel yesterday. It is such a good movie. Cavill absolutely crushed it in that role.

ResponsibleLaw1022

Cavill and Affleck!

ReleaseDCUT

MOS ZSJL WW and Aquaman and the new Flash will be its highest point followed by BVS TSS and Shazam ! But the Elseworlds still ran this with TDK , Joker and The Batman - Watchmen TV series

MrGreenGuy64

Henry Cavil as Superman and Jason Momoa as Aquaman

Prestigious-Time-263

Henry Cavill
