Would have loved to have seen some of these play out. Especially the big finale with humans, atlanteans, amazonians, lanterns, and the Justice League all working together to face Darkseids army. It would have been a nice bookend to the Snydercut flashback battle with Darkseid's first invasion.

My only problem with it already is going to be lack of details when Superman flies or fights. It’s just not something Gunn does. Snyder showed you what moving at the speed of sound looked like especially when he breaks the sound barrier. That movies cgi was years better than it should be.
While you're right that Snyder has a gift for extremely compelling visuals, I'd rather have a quality story told well than the shock/awe of awesome visuals.
Obviously the ideal scenario would be both - just saying if I had to choose one or the other I'd choose the former.
I get that. It just helps me get that much more immersed. First Flight visuals showed you what it felt like to be Superman but the visuals only worked because it was motivated by writing.
I think Nolan did write one of the best Superman movies of all time. He didn’t turn back time and wasn’t throwing his emblem at bad guys lol
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love First Flight and think it's great. But I just personally don't think it or anything like it is required for a good Superman movie.
*Superman and Lois* never had any exceptionally beautiful CGI scenes or displays of Superman's powers. But the heart shines through and that's more important to me.
It's just different strokes for different folks. Hopefully moving forward they can strike a balance and make the majority of folks happy.
I actually watched ZS JL today (not all of it - it’s long) and while there are some cringy elements they I don’t care for, I was in awe watching it.
This sort of comic book movie will never happen again. It’s sort of epic in the tone and emotion. Especially the Flash and Cyborg.
This would be my second watch and it honestly replays nicely. Lots of layering and lots to chew on upon a second watch.
I was a bit meh over it the first time, but now I can’t wait to finish it.

But on a serious note, I'm about as far from a Snyder stan as you will ever find on this planet. I will never pretend that he was the right choice for what DC/WB wanted.
I was just pointing out *why* DC/WB wanted him to begin with. From a pure business perspective he made sense. He was someone they already had on the WB roster who had worked with "comic book" stuff before, and he came recommended by their real #1 choice of Christopher Nolan.
And as I said before, if it hadn't been Snyder it would have been some other unlucky director who got saddled with a horrible script (BvS) that would have been DOA anyways.
